Cut my bill in half

If Sprint can cut my bill in half, will Verizon do the same thing? I'd like to stay a Verizon customer but they're making it look very attractive to switch.

That is certainly a big IF. I always keep an eye out for pricing on Verizon's competitors, keeping in mind that if I choose to switch my service would suffer considerably.
With that in mind, I checked Sprint the other day to see how valid these claims of "cutting my bill in half" actually are. The first clue is the small print IMMEDIATELY underneath that statement of the following "Discount applies to base monthly service plan only. Exclusions apply and new plan features may not be an exact match.".
Needless to say, Sprint was not able to cut my 4 smartphone, 10 GB shared data $168/month Verizon bill down to $84. They didn't even come close.
Good luck with the new provider if you choose to switch.

  • Sprint's Cut Your Bill in Half Promotion

I switched my AT&T service to a Mobile Share Plan to lower my bill by $50/month. One of our five phones had unlimited data. I had been with AT&T / Cingular Wireless for over 10 years. I was NOT told that once I got new phones I would be paying $40 per phone per month, instead of $10 with a $30/month data plan. So, essentially what I was tricked into doing is instead of a $30 data plan per line, now AT&T wanted me to pay that $30 per line every month AND buy a data plan. No. H*** no! I just switched to Sprint. They cut nothing in half, tricked me into signing a lease agreement by handing me an iPad and asking me to sign to allow them to access my AT&T account. I was not shown a contract until I was on my way out the door with new phones - after 4 hours in my local Sprint store. What I did get was a similar, and a bit cheaper, deal - the first year, because the $15 per line per month is waived. After that the price goes a bit above the $260/month I was paying with AT&T for 5 lines. My daughter only has 1 bar of service at her house, and can barely make and receive calls. This is in San Jose, where I was assurred the fastest 4G and data are everywhere in the city. I just got off the phone with Sprint, who assurred me that there are 5 towers by her house, the closest being 0.2 miles away. They refused to send a signal booster. They will (maybe) give/loan you one after 28 days, they say. Because I have just 14 days to return the equipment, that does me (or anyone else) no good. The Sprint rep told me, before I signed on that Sprint would still pay my $1,000+ in ETF costs even if I left them within 14 days. But then changed the story the next day when I came back the next day with my adult son - after not sleeping all night I was so angry at all the lies and deception. I was also told it was acceptable to turn in any AT&T phone, as long as it turns on, and that Sprint has no way of knowing if they were active on the AT&T network at the time of the switch. Can't that be tracked by IMEA and serial number? Does AT&T get the old phones back from Sprint once they are returned? I have read about AT&T calling customers who have switched and offerred incentives to return. Is that standard practice, or are those isolated instances?

  • Thinking of taking Sprint up on their current offer, of cutting your bill in half and paying off my Contract with Verizon.  Good idea?

I think it's ridiculous I'm paying almost $100/month for the lowest plan I can get.
Might just have to take Sprint up on their current offer!

I used to have Sprint on one line and left because the coverage is woefully lacking when compared to Verizon in my service area. This does not mean it wouldn't be sufficient for your service area and/or needs. You would have to decide that for yourself.

  • I placed a comment a few minutes ago and just like the Verizon stors, I get "NO" help !! Maybe I should cut my bil in half and see what Sprint has to offer !!

I am so fed up with Verizon !!! I go into stores, tell them the problem and they take my phone, do some things to my phone ad tell me it is fixed !! I leave the store and a couple hundred feet away my phone goes off !! This has been going on for months. Verizon has to do a better job in training their people. I have been with Verizon all the time but, you are giving me reason to cut my bill in half and try Sprint !! Realbob

So what exactly is the problem with the phone?

  • How do I cut an image in half and move the halves independently?

How do I cut an image in half, and move the halves independently?

Use the rectangular marquee tool to select half the image, then Layer>New Layer via cut. You can turn on the rulers and set a guide so you'll know the boundaries you want if you need it to be exactly half.
If you want to also be able to move the other half, before you start double click the background layer in the layers panel to turn it to a regular layer.

I want to cut a path in half. I've searched far and wide around the internet on how to do it but couldn't find any results. so how do I go about doing this? I've inserted an image to make answering this question easier.

make a rectangle and place it behind the line you need to cut
select both the line and the rectangle
grab the Scissors Tool and cut the line right where you see the center of the rectangle
delete the excess line and the rectangle

    Hi,
For me, Jongware is right! It's very easy and cool to do it directly in InDesign (with totally editable text). Here's a sample:

  • Need to cut a word in half and insert text inside, in Illustrator or InDesign

need to cut a word in half and insert text inside, in Illustrator or InDesign, like this: http://looksgreat.tumblr.com/post/56189410707/tutorial-letra-dividida

That's fine. Everybody has their own preferences. I find it odd that you feel the need to criticize mine. Personally, I've been a Prepress Tech for 25 years, the last 15 in a digital environment on Mac Workstations. I work with live fonts and outlined text every day. I've had way more headaches with font substitution and reflow than I've ever had with vector art. Most of the time, I leave live text as live text. But if I'm designing a Logo or art that is intended to be placed in multiple documents and probably scaled, I'm going to convert it to paths. Much less chance of the RIP screwing it up that way.
Your answer to OPs question was spot on. So was mine. There is rarely only one right way to create something in Illustrator. If you don't care for my methods, then don't use them. But let me assure you, I don't need any schooling from you. The fact that you seem compelled to engage me on this may say something about your personality. Micro-manage much?

  • Descktop J4550 Some font lines are cut off at top half of row

The subject line above says it all. Just need to know how to correct the problem. Descktop J4550 Some font lines are cut off at top half of row

My personal opinion is that it is a problem from some books that have been published via Smashwords. That has been my experience for one or two books I've downloaded. I contacted the author in one case and he replied:
"Just to let you know I've had some feedback from Smashwords about the odd display issue. It's relates to the line spacing in the original document, apparently. I'll be uploading a fixed version to them in the near future, though it might take a while for the new version to trickle down to the iBookstore."
So I dunno if your book is published by Smashwords, but if it is it may be worth contacting author?

  • Trying to Cut my Letters in half, need help!!

I have the word "SNYC" and trying to cut it in half and giving me real trouble. Saying that "The filter produced no results. Please select one or more filled paths." I don't really understand what I am doing wrong.

    jayhard,
If you wish to keep the Type live and editable, you may just hide half of it, using a Clipping mask or an Opacity mask.
I believe the simplest way of outlining is just to select it and then Type>Create Outlines.

  • 2 displays cuts video ram in half?

i was told by a guy today that if I use two monitors with my tower, that it cuts the video ram in half, sounds logical...if this is true, why would someone want to use two monitors instead of just buying one big one?

Actually it's not true. VRAM is used for more than one thing and displaying video to the display is only one of it's uses. You might like to note that the largest display, a 30" display, only requires that 128MB VRAM be present.
The reason one would opt for using two monitors is that with two displays you tend to use a different workflow and window placement than you would with one display. Not to mention that those who use two display generally have at least one of the displays being at the "larger" size anyway. Some do it because they already have two displays at their disposal without having to buy anything extra. Some do it for video previewing where LCDs aren't recommended for colour matching.
There are many reason why two display would be used beyond the obvious pixel count.

  • Speakers for the iPod running on batt, do they cut battery use in half?

I know that volume has a lot to do with battery drain on a battery radio, and I imagine it is the same with the iPod. How much drain do speakers (the kind specifically made for the iPod) cause? Do they cut the battery useful time down to 2 hours? 1 hour? before needing to be re-charged?
I'm interested, but not if they are a huge drain on battery life. How do they compare with drain caused by ear buds?
Let's say all of this would be at a moderate volume, not loud.
Thanks for any input on this,
    Ken

No one can give you a definite answer on this. Every speaker uses electricity at a different level so the only way to know is to call the manufacturer and test them out yourself. I can say that it will drain a lot of your iPod's batteries if it uses your iPods batteries in the first place. Usually speakers have a power source of its own so you can plug the speaker's adaptor to a outlet on the wall.

  • Keying and Rendering in Premiere Pro - Why does it cut the frame in half when I render?

I am keying a clip in Adobe Premiere and layering it over another clip. Looks great when I play back in the timelime but for some reason when I render the clip the bottom half of the frame goes missing as if I have cropped it out. If I then edit the clip in any way it comes back but of course,it's then un-rendered. I can't figure out why this happens. Anyone have an idea? Thanks!

Exactly what version of PPro do you have?
CC7.2 has a bug that sounds like what you're reporting. It was fixed in 7.2.1.
If you're on PPRO 7.2.1--and you're seeing this problem in clips encoded by AME--then try disabling the option "Enable native Premiere Pro sequence import" on the General tab of AME's preferences dialog. I don't know for a fact that this will resolve the problem, but it's a pretty good bet.

  • I installed Windows 7 on my early 2011 stock Macbook pro 13" and it cut my RAM in half it syas i only have 2GB when i have 4GB. The version of windows is 7 Ultimate 32 bit

    More details-
i Burned the ISO to a DVD and installed it like that, then after the installation i installed all the latest drivers that i downloaded before the HDD partition. the windows partion is 50 GB which seems subsantial as i will only be using it for school programs that arent for mac. (this is off topic but some how without installing anything i have only 20GB of the windows partion left. dont know how this happend). this is all on my early 2011 Macbook pro 13" everything in it is stock, it came shipped with 4gb of RAM and a great Intel I5 dual core 2.3 GHZ with the Intell HD 3000 348MB video.

    Hi
32-bit Windows has an address space of 4GB. Part of that is used by system BIOSes and graphics memory. With my Mac Book which has a 1Gb graphics card you only get about 2.6-2.8GB of the RAM which would be addressable and usable.

  • Advice on cutting file size in half?

Got a problem re: compression for web video - got a 1:30 (animation codec - mix of Livetype and DV video) sequence, exported QT conversion, Mpeg 4, h264, data rate 150, 176 x 144, 200 keyframe, mono audio, 30 fps.
Given the above settings, when I open the finished mpeg4 file in QT 7, it plays the audio, but NO video shows at all. Did this twice. Besides, it's always at 3.1mb.
I obviously, need advice on best way/settings to get this video down...I have a good 320 x 240 mpeg 4 version which works nice at 4.1 mb, but I need an alternate version at under 2 mb, which is why I made the data rate so low on this one, ie 150. Still I CAN'T get this thing below 3.1 mb.
    Thanks
    KB

If you were to export your timeline to a QuickTime movie (at current settings), you could drop that in Compressor and try a whole bunch of different variation to see what works best for you.
One additional thing I'd try for your smaller file is to decrease the framerate of the encoded file to 15 (or even 10) fps. This is where creating a bunch of presets in Compressor really comes in handy.
I believe that the data rate you're seeing in QuickTime player includes the audio, whereas the setting of 150 that you set during the QuickTime conversion was the video rate only.
