Cutting audio on multicam

I have a 10 sequence muticam edit and as I am editing the audio keeps cutting out and I can't follow the video when trying to cut to the music....

This is normal.  Only Audio 1 comes over in the multicam nest.
Cut the project, then when you're done renest Sequence 1 onto track 2 of the Multi Cam sequence.  (Move those audio snippets down a track to make room.)  Delete the video portion and move the audio from 2 to 1, replacing the cut audio.  This will give you all your audio back.

  • No audio in multicam CC

Hello, working in Premiere Pro CC and can not get audio in multicam to work for some reason
    (1) selected clips AND THEIR AUDIO in timeline and selected Nest
    (2) enable multicam
    (3) double click nested compostion in timeline to open Multicam Window
    - no audio inside that window, when i go back to  timeline i hear it just fine.  WTF

Double click opens it in the Source Monitor.  You can't cut it there.  Click the wrench under the Program Monitor to change to multicam view there.

    Hi guys.
First of all welcome on forum. This is my first post.
My main problem is when I cutting audio files -
audio meter is jumping up to maximum and speakers generate loud click.
Also another problem, very popular on Logic -

  • Final Cut and Audio in Multicam

I recently upgraded to the latest version of final cut pro x.
With one audio chanel that did not change in a multicam movie, but the video chanel do change (did not use their audio).
Everytime in which the camera in the multicam changes (on rendering only) I get a split second pause (or dropout) in the audio.
I have been making multicam movies for a long time now, never had this problem with the old version. Doing everything the same way.
Can anyone tell me how I can avoid this - other then deleting the cut in the audio (which are in sync with the changes in the cameras)
    Thank you.

The cut where made across the multicam edit, each time I changed cameras, but the audio was constant.(audio had cuts in the wave form to match the video)
The video and audio play correctly in the time line.
The problem is after I export or compress the video. Then the audio drop outs happen.
This never used to happen with the previous version with all things constant.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Cutting audio while in Multicam mode

I did my first video interview of 4 teachers this week.  I recorded the audio on an external recorder but saved the entire audio on a single file.  I have 4 separate video files.  I was able to get the audio to sync in multicam mode with the 4 interviews.  Out of 24 minutes of audio I only need maybe 5 minutes of key statements made by the teachers.  However, I cannot seem to cut the master audio track.  When I press B to cut I get a separator with a red slash across it.  I am a newbie but am really enjoying learning.  Help!

B with my machine shows your red separator with red slash through it
that is not cut, that is the Ripple edit tool telling you there is no ripple to edit (until you hit an edit point)
cut is razor, which is C on my machine

  • Multicam not cutting audio tracks

    Hi there,
I'm cutting in multicam, but only the video tracks are being cut. The audio track is left untouched. Any thoughts on how to cut both?
    Cheers

I've tried blowing away A1 and A2 from the cam 1 merged clip, putting the location sound at A1, and using that master clip to create the multiclip, but to no avail. Still out of sync< </div>
Loyed's got way more experience with multicam than most of us so it's safe to follow his lead.
Not knowing exactly what's going on (sorry if you've already tried this), I'd sync up the audio and then export the newly merged clip as a self-contained movie. Reimport.
Hope you figure it out. Please return and post your solution for the benefit of those who come after seeking help with multiclips.

  • How can I use all tracks from multi-channel source audio with Multicam clips?

I cannot figure this out. Working in Premiere I'm prepping for a 2 camera show, with typically 4 to 6 track dual-system audio recorded by the sound guy. I can sync, and make multicam clips any number of ways–whether sync by timecode, sync by audio, or eyeballing–but whenever I edit using the MC clip, Premiere mixes down all the audio channels into a stereo single track, and I cannot pick and choose which audio track from the original to use. With 2-5 people mic'd on lavs, I need to be able to choose which audio is either cut in or heard at any given shot.
Is there any way to have control in multicam clips over which track of audio gets edited into the timeline, or even: that all tracks of audio get cut in? It's very important for the editors to be able to see waveform (which also disappears for some reason in the mixdown) and pick and choose which audio is heard?
I'm sure this might be a simple fix, but I cannot get my head around it for workflow purposes for my assistant editors. We need to use multicam, but this audio thing is driving all of us crazy. None of us can figure out how to have a multicam clip and use it with control over what audio is cut in.

True, but what I need to be able to do is have my multicam sequence in the source monitor, and cut into my working sequence with either just the audio I need from the sound guy's multi-channel WAV, OR cut in all the sound and from then I can just enable or disable what I need or don't need. But also be able to match back to the Multicam source from my working sequence.
I don't want to have to open the synced sequence, and razor blade the things I need and have to copy and paste into my working sequence in order to have the full spectrum of my multi-channel mono lav WAV files...with their waveforms visible.
Essentially, I want my Multicam clips to load in the source monitor, and the ability to cut them into the working sequence without it mixing down the audio into a single track with no visible waveform–which is what it is doing currently. Can I choose to edit in either ALL of the tracks of the WAV file along with the camera shot I want, or control which audio gets cut in?

  • Nested sequence: after a cut, audio repeats from previous clip

Summary: In a nested sequence situation, I'm getting short audio repeats from a clip element just prior to a cut.
    Context:
Premiere Pro CC, latest version at time of writing (7.0.1 (105), under Windows 7 (64-bit).
Structure: I have a sync-sequence (multicam source sequence) consisting of XDCAM-EX (file structure broadly along the lines of AVCHD) and Z1 (plain m2t files).  Derived from / dependent on that is a multicam edit sequence, where I cut between camera angles.  Then that sequence is itself nested in a master sequence (showing selected extracts of the performance).
For reference purposes: Multicam edit sequence consists (among other things) of a rock band's "big finish" followed by some applause.  I made a cut in the audio part (only) of the nested sequence clip, to enable the audio for the applause to be normalized independently of the band performance.  To smooth the join I added a crossfade transition over the cut.  Nicer in principle than using volume envelopes.
When I play the original recording or the multicam sync-sequence or the multicam edit-sequence, all looks and sounds fine.
    Problem:
When the Master sequence is played back (in preview or an exported/encoded clip) I hear the big finish, then applause starts, then after 2 seconds the "big finish" is heard once again, but at lower audio level.
This effect happens wherever I have used the same cut/normalize/crossfade technique in the (nested) multicam edit sequence.  I have also encountered it in previous projects in Premiere CS6.
If I delete the crossfade then the problem disappears...  Doesn't matter what type of audio crossfade is used.
Is this a known problem? and is there a quick workaround? (other than using envelopes instead or copying/patching the audio up to the master level)

Ah so  [Sequence > Render Audio] is not just a "luxury item" to get waveforms to display when nested or to (presumably) to lower CPU load (e.g. when audio effects have been applied).  It's something that I will need to always do from now on...   It's a shame there's a "feature" but great to know of the workaround.
    Thank you very much.

  • Adobe Premiere CC 2014 - droping audio during multicam

    Hello all,
I have an issue with Premiere CC's multicam and it seems to be dropping audio during switching of cameras in mutlicam. I have not figured out what causes this since it only happens about 4 times per one hour clip, totally random. Now I don't see any wrong settings, but with expanded view I also see that the waveform is missing:
Any ideas on how to get the audio back, not sure what happened but any ideas are appreciated. I have already re-rendered the audio so I'm guessing it's not a cache problem. The audio is a direct input from the mixing table and is full with no breaks through the video.

OK I have finally figured it out. Apparently the bug occurs if you "refix" the multicam. Example I was not happy with the selected camera went back and reedited it. Premiere then becomes a 62yo cafeteria lady, whom is 1 month away from being retired and a kid says he doesn't eat a certain food and she just fixed everything up and serves him.
What happens is the 1st time around I used example camera 1, did not like what I was seeing went back switched to camera 3, Premiere switched the audio to Camera 2. It always chose the third audio that wasn't the video (Example nr. 2: I used camera 3 switched to camera 1 Premiere selected the audio of camera 2). I've set the multicam to use only Audio Track 1 and the rest are all nonexisting, since I wanted to use only the audio that was a direct input from the mixing board not from the mics on cameras, that is why the drop happened. Now why Premiere does this is anybody's guess, but the way to fix this is to simply go to the parts where there is no audio clicking on the audio while holding ALT, going to Multi-camera and choosing the right audio source, as you can see from the screenshots below.
Of course there is one problem left unsolved and that is how to prevent this from choosing a random reedited multicam clip when you turn off or restart your computer, simply put you cannot. So my advice for anyone looking to solve this is 1st find the clips that are problematic then change the audio sources, and just make the encode. Other than that it can be solved with a little fix, just replacing the audio in the original sequence with the one you want for every camera, but then a 1-2ms buzzing noise comes in whenever you change cameras in my case working on a rock concert where mostly the camera changes every 3 sec it starts to sound like a bee hive in a matter of minutes, and I have no fix for that at the moment.

  • Is there any way to cut audio while keeping the video it is tied to?

ok, I have a video from a dvd i burned on FCE but the sound is messed up. I am going to be making a AMV with it anyway so I don't really need the audio. Is there any way of cutting the audio without disturbing the video it was imported with. I must stress that they were not imported separately.

Place the footage in the timeline. Click the lock key on the vidoe time line. This will place a screen looking thing over the video. Select the audio in the time line and press delete. That will delete the audio but keep the video. Then unclick the lock key and all should be well. Always remeber the "undo" option if you mess up. I use it all the time.

  • Razor blade tool not cutting audio and video at the same time

    Hiya,
When using the razor blade tool in a timeline, my razor only cuts the video track, or one audio track at a time. The audio and video were imported together.
I would like for the video and two audio tracks to be cut at the same time--so that when I'm cutting I don't have to click three times (VA1A2).
What needs changed to do this? Thank you!!!!
A little annoying -- but would be a time saver. Never had this problem before FCS2.
    Thanks again!

Are the video and audio clips linked? If they're not, the cut will only apply to the track under the blade tool.

  • Final Cut Pro X - Multicam changes pitch (Help badly needed!)

    Hi everybody,
I have big problems using Multicam.
Basicly my problem is that pitch is not preserved. It is off with a semitone or so. Almost sounds like a samplerate issue (44.1/48 khz)
    What I do is:
I have 4 shoot (with 4 cams) of a live-song. I have proff. audio from Pro Tools. I choose those 5 files in FCP and hit "new multicam clip). It syncs and I drag new multicam clip to timeline. Now pitch is slightly off!!
Can someone help me with this? When I double click multi cam clip, so it unfolds, each angles audio is in original pitch.
BTW: Is it the right way to do this? I mean, handling the audio as a angle, when creating the multi cam clip in the first place?
    Going mad :-(

You might not have a compatible video card. It needs to be "OpenCL" compatible. What mac are you using, and what video card? This info is available using the "About this Mac" menu item; click "More Info" to get to the video info.

  • How to preserve multiple mono audio in Multicam sequence?

I'm a new FCP7 -> Premiere convert and seem to be unable to preserve true multiple mono audio in a multicam source sequence.
I have 3 video clips, each with 2 mono audio channels, interpreted correctly as multiple mono (showing as "2 Mon" in Project panel).
When I "create multi-camera source sequence" in project panel using the 3 clips, Premiere Pro Cs6 is creating a sequence with a Master audio track that is stereo.  I cannot find a way to converting the stereo Master audio track to multiple mono audio track after the sequence is automatically created.  When I look in "Sequence Settings" of the multi-cam sequence, there is no "Tracks" tab that is used to set this up in a new sequence.  I have also tried switching all the preferences/audio settings to Mono with no luck.
Note:  This problem is NOT related to enabling/disabling the additional audio tracks in the multicam sequence, I understand that only track 1 of a multi-cam sequence is enabled by default.
    Thanks,
    Robert

When I "create multi-camera source sequence" in project panel using the 3 clips
Don't do that.  Do things "old school".  Meaning you manually create an "Original" sequence for the 3 clips, add them in and sync them up.  You then manually create a second "Multicam" sequence and nest the "Original" into that.  Right click and Enable Multicam.
Doing it that way, you'll have the option to specify what type of audio tracks you want for each sequence.

  • Audio Causing Multicam Crashes - AudioRenderContextConstructor.ccp-110

    Hello -
I do a lot of multicam interview edits and am running into a relatively consistent crash inducing scenario, namely, editing a multicam group with any audio inserts applied causes premiere to crash. The official error is related to AudioRenderContextConstructor.ccp-110.
Typically, I'll "master" my audio within the multicam group using 2 inserts on each active channel (usually only 2 audio tracks) - insert 1 EQ, and insert 2, dynamics. Once I'm happy with the mix, I make my camera selections in another timeline using the multicamera editor window. if I leave the inserts active within the multicam group, I'm guaranteed premiere will crash at some point while editing. If I export a mixdown (.wav), and then re-import it back into the multicam group while disabling the inserts, I'm less likely to crash, but still no guarantees. I've also tried doing an external mix in audition, using the send to audition feature, and it's still crashing on a pretty consistent basis.
I emptied my media cache and reset my preferences yesterday morning, but crashes started coming back by the afternon. Same thing today.
Is there anything I can do to avoid this very annoying problem?
    System config:
    Mac OS 10.8.2
    PPro 6.0.2

I do not have soundflower installed.
I do, however, have screenflow (a screen recording app) installed, if that's important. My only expereince with soundflower was when it came bundled with another screen recording app called iShowuHD, which I have never had installed on this machine.

  • How can I use the specific camera's audios in Multicam?

Hello, I am fairly new to PremPro and I am trying to put together a multicam piece.
The piece is me and my friend playing a game, he recorded his screen and game audio and I did the same.
    Camera1 - My Angle & Audio
    Camera2 - My friends Angle & Audio
The main issue im having is that I cant get the audio for the specific angle to play ONLY when that angle is up.
I tried a few ways but I couldn't get it.
EG. This is without changing any settings, just making the multicam sequence then switching angles in multicam window.
My angle is up and I hear my audio, when I switch to my friends angle, I can only here my audio and not his.
EG. This is enabling the sound on both videos before adding to new sequence.
When any angle is up I hear both audios.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Any Ideas anyone?
    please...
