Cutting out an animation from a background

Hello! I'm a flash noob and I just created my first animation of a plant "growing up", following the tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyUhrR4wLoA. It worked wonders: I basically drew a few lines, transformed it to symbol, created a new mask and script layer, and just used a brush to cover a part of the image on every frame in order to give the illusion of appearance. However, I don't need a background, I just need to cut the animation and make it an independent SWF. Any help to solve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!

You cannot remove a background directly in Flash. however what do you intend to do with the Flash once it is completed ? put it in some Html page ?
In that case, in your HTML page, do the following 3 step in the <object> section of your Flash script:
Add the following parameter to the OBJECT tag:
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
Add the following parameter to the EMBED tag: wmode="transparent"
Edit all <param name="wmode" value="opaque"> and replace the "opaque" (or whatever it may be) with "transparent"
You will have a flash with transparent background working on all navigator.
It should look something like this: ( I've put in bold the part that interest you.)
<object id="FlashID" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="950" height="580">
      <param name="movie" value="Video/Menu.swf" />
      <param name="wmode" value="transparent">
      <param name="quality" value="high" />
      <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
      <param name="swfversion" value="6.0.65.0" />
      <param name="expressinstall" value="Scripts/expressInstall.swf" />
      <param name="embed" value="wmode=&quot;transparent&quot;" />
      <param name="selectable" value="false" />
      <param name="border" value="0" />
      <param name="embed" value="border=&quot;0&quot;" />
     <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="Video/Menu.swf" width="950" height="580">
        <param name="quality" value="high" />
        <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />

        <param name="embed" value="wmode=&quot;transparent&quot;" />

  • Hello guys, could some one please explain the best process using Photoshop CS2 to cut out the picture from a background?

    Hello,
    My name might be photoshopking, but I am still a newbie trying to learn
    I am trying to present footwear on my website and the problem is all of my images need a white background. Because of this, I have to constantly remove the background detail from photos on the net which I currently just use the Magic Wand Tool which isnt great. I seem to find the edges are pixelated and blurry.
    Would someone on the forum please be able to give me an example using a photo from my website about how to remove the background properly? This would massively help.
    I am really struggling with this image: http://traineraddict.com/wp-content/uploads/nike-fragment-design-roshe-run-ld-1000-sp-692x 461_c.jpg
    Any help would be massively appreciated

  • I want to cut out a head from a photo and insert it into another photo again. In the head hair flying in the wind and the blue sky can be seen between the hairs. This blue sky I want to remove, so I can only use the head with hair flying in another photo.

    I want to cut out a head from a photo and insert it into another photo again. In the head hair flying in the wind and the blue sky can be seen between the hairs. This blue sky I want to remove, so I can only use the head with hair flying in another photo. Is it possible to simply delete this blue color of the sky?

    Make your selection and then use Refine Edge.

  • Cutting out an image/ removing a background/ editing an image

    With Sprout by HP you can remove objects from their backgrounds, also called extracting, cutting, or masking.
    You simply select the image to create a preview, choose the part of the image you want to keep, and choose the part of the image you want to discard.
    You can also zoom in or out to get more control over what you select.
    You can check out How to Remove the Background with Sprout by HP to read more about this function.
    I work for HP, supporting the HP Experts who volunteer their time and technical knowledge to help others.

    In Photoshop use File > Save for Web & Devices and choose the GIF or the PNG format.
    Note that the PNG has two versions, 8 bit  or 24 bit.
    Check the tranparency checkbox.
    PNG (24 bit) provides the best result but also the largest file size.

  • Streaming cutting out when streaming from iTunes libarary to Apple TV

    Up until a day or two ago everything was working fine, and I haven't changed anything with my WIFI settings or anything else.
    I usually load up a .mp4 file into iTunes libary and then play it, and then I click on the Apple TV icon to stream it to my TV. This works fine, however after about 10 minutes it can cut out, and then when I restart it, it's fine, but then cuts out again later.
    At first I thought it was a problem with the file I had converted from AVI to MP4, but I just tired a native MP4 and I still get the issue.
    I haven't changed any settings on my mac or apple tv.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
    You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
    Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
    There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.
    The following article(s) may help you.

  • How do I cut out imported objects and make background transparent?

    Illustrator CS3.
    I have embedded a jpeg picture which I need to cut out and make the background transparent. How do I do this? An opacity mask? How do I create a mask the same shape as the object I need to cut out? The object needs central pieces cut out too. Please help!

    Opacity mask of clipping path are the two ways to do this in Illustrator. Photoshop is the ideal program for this task.

  • How can I save a a cut-out pic without the white background?

    This may seem like a stupid question, but when I cut-out an image (jpg), and then go to save it, it saves with the background of the pic in white. How can I save it without a background at all so that I can use it in another program like Power Point???

    Thanks for the info. I didn't know jpg. files don't support the transparent background, but guessed that it was going to be something like that.
    Thanks so much for the info and your help!

  • TV keeps cutting out for anywhere from 2 - 20 seconds

    My TV service cuts out arbitrarily (screen goes blank) for anywhere from 2 to 20 seconds. Tends to happen more often and more frequently in the evenings.  It is occurring both on my HD-DVR box as well as my standard STB.  All the boxes are Motorola.  Any ideas.  This started about 6 weeks ago and is getting really annoying.

    that is usually an HDMI issue, so that is either coming from the TV, the Cable itself or the Box.
    you can try resetting the box first, and see if it goes away.
    Menu > Customer Support > in home agent > reboot STB.
    If that doesn't work, you can try power cycling your TV,  just unplug the TV for a few minutes, and then plug the TV back in,   see if it goes away. re
    And you can try reseating the cable (oddly this works)   just unplug the cable at both ends, plug em back in.   Or try switching the port on the back of your tv (the set top box only has one HDMI your TV may have several to plug into)
    And you can try changing the cable itself.
    If all that doesn't work, then then call into customer service and see if they have any tricks up their sleeves,  they sometimes have special reset commands that are a little stronger than simply resetting the box.   they may have to replace it if all else fails.
    if you plug in a different cable like Component it will probably go away, and you will preserve the High Definition Picture quality.

  • Question about cutting out an object/removing white background

    Hello,  I will start this by saying that I am very new to photoshop.  Any input will be appreciated.
    What I am having trouble with is cutting a part of a picture out and the resulting white box that comes with the picture cutout.  Here is what I mean.
    I make a selection out of a picture and cut it out from the backround, like for example cutting a person out of a photo.  I cut the person out with the magic wand and what remains is the transparent background.  I then save as psd.  I then place the image in INDesign into a publication with a background color of say blue and have no problems there with the cutout of the person blending into the blue background.  Once the psd image is placed in INDesign I can move the image around anywhere in the publication and it blends in perfectly.  So all is good up until this point.  Here is where my problem is.
    Say I want to paste this image into a website, like a dreamweaver page and say the website page has a blue background.  I go to insert, image, and select the image psd to insert to the page.  What happens now is that the image inserts cutout person with a white background box and does not blend in with the blue background like I want.  The same thing happens if I insert as a gif or jpeg.
    What am I missing here to paste the photo in and NOT have this annoying white background?
    Thank you in advance for help!

    In Photoshop use File > Save for Web & Devices and choose the GIF or the PNG format.
    Note that the PNG has two versions, 8 bit  or 24 bit.

  • Cutting out a person from a video.

    Ok I have a background video and a video of a lady on the track above it. I take the 16 point track matte and cut her out. I now want to blur the cut edges to smooth her into the below video. I tried the black video track as when you do a viginette but it kills the bottom video track because there is no transparent setting. Just black. How would I do tis in ppcs6? It is as easy as beziar mask in Sony Vegas and then feather. You have a video clip cutout and a transparent feather that blends into your background beautifully. Any help would be great thank you.
    David

    I am not sure if it will work for you, but try the Roughen Edges effect.
    Increase the border size, decrease the edge sharpness to zero, and increase the scale. That might do the trick.
    Life would be easier if the garbage matte had a feather parameter.

  • How do I cut out an image from one photo and paste it in another photo?

    Help!  I did use the scissors and eraser tool to cutout unwanted background, and now I have an image I want to save and copy to another photo.  The problem is that Elements 11 won't let me open up another photo at the same time, or let me copy the selected image to clipboard to paste on a different photo.  Adobe's  info. on how to do this seems to be sketchy.

    Try this:
    Open photo B, the one that you want to add an object to. Minimize this.
    Open Photo A, and using one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, make a selection of the object that is to be transferred to B. You will see "marching ants" when the selection is complete.
    Go to Edit menu>copy to place the selection on the clipboard
    Go back to photoB
    Go to Edit>paste
    With the move tool, position the object and resize with the corner handles of the bounding box.

  • Using pathfinder to cut out a shape from multiple lines

    Hello,
    There is a probably a really easy answer to this but i cant find it. I have created an area of 'pinstripe' pattern using multiple lines equally spaced and alligned etc, i've then placed a rectangle shape on top of these lines and want to extract the rectangle from the lines so that i am only left with the pinstripe pattern in the area of the rectangle.Hope this makes sense, couldn't think of a better way of describing it !
    Thanks

    I do this all the time! Peter's suggestion is the best/only way I've found. Anything like you're describing, needs illustrator if you need more than what "Paste Into" does.
    Pathfinder in InDesign won't work with your pattern if it's made from lines (but will if it's made from boxes), as long as you don't create the file past page 12 ( see this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/324684 ).

  • How to reveal the background layer through a cut-out?

    How can I cut out a shape from my PS image to expose the background layer?  I will "Save for Web" with a transparent background.
    The shape will be a rectangle, and a text layer will later be added to display within the rectangle.
    My goal is to use the PS image as part of a Web page, allowing the Web page background to show through the rectangle which surrounds the text.
    Hope this explanation makes sense.
    thanks!

    Sounds like what you want to do is what countless others do - nothing special.
    In Photoshop, put what you want to show on a layer (not Background), make it partially transparent (either with an erase operation or hiding parts of it with a mask), make sure no Background layer is showing (you'll see the checkerboard through the transparent parts), and save the work product as a PNG (or possibly a GIF, but PNG offers partial transparency).
    You'll also want to save your design as a master PSD of course, so you can edit the master file
    This page might give you some food for thought...

  • How do you cut out the part of an image in a photo?

    How do you cut out a part of an image on a photo that you have added to Pages. For example, if I have added a picture of a giraffe to Pages how would I cut out the giraffe from the image and get rid of the rest of the image

    You can use the instant alpha tool to make the background transparent.
    FYI: Pages is part of iWork, not iLife.
