Cutting picture in Acrobat 9 Standard

Hello,
I was wondering if it possible to cut a picture and move it around inside Acrobat 9 Std?  What I want to do is be able to cut a logo out of a PDF and move it around on the page.  I have tried the crop tool and it does not look like it does what I want it to do.  Of course, I could be missing something.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

I noticed that Standard had a touch up tool as well but it doesn't look like it will work for what I want it to do.

  • Error 2148073513 When Attempting To Digitally Sign In Acrobat 11 Standard

    I'm attempting to use Acrobat 11 Standard to digitally sign a PDF document with a 2048 bit certificate from our internal certificate authority, and I'm receiving the following error:
    Error encountered while signing:
    The Windows Cryptographic Service Provider reported an error:
    The requested operation is not supported.
    Error Code: 2148073513
    The operating system is Windows 7 Enterprise x64.  When I remove Acrobat 11 Standard and install Acrobat 9 Standard on the same Windows 7 system, I am able to successfully sign the document using the same certificate that was giving the error with 11.  Also we have been using Acrobat 9 on Windows XP with these same certificates for a long time and never encountered issues with digitally signing.
    Any ideas of what might be causing this issue?
    Thanks in advance
    Josh

    Hi Josh,
    The error message comes from Windows (not Acrobat), but Acrobat 11 is probably asking Windows to do something that it can't. What it is I don't know because the error message is too vague. One thing we can do is to take Windows out of the picture and see if you can sign when Acrobat accesses the digital ID itself as opposed to asking Windows to do the work. This is a two step process, first, export the digital ID from Windows into a file, and then import the file into Acrobat (it's not really an import, but I'll leave it at that for now).
    Step 1 - Export the Digital ID
    Launch Acrobat
    Select the Edit > Preferences menu item
    Select Internet from the Categories list box
    Click the Internet Settings button
    Select the Content tab on the Internet Properties dialog
    Click the Certificates button
    Highlight your digital ID and then click the Export button
    Click the Next button on the Welcome panel of the Certificate Export Wizard
    Select the Yes, export the private key radio button, and then click the Next button. If this radio button is disabled you can stop here and let me know that the private key is not exportable
    Select the Include all certificates in the certification path if possible checkbox & the Export all extended properties checkbox and then click the Next button. Only select the top and bottom checkboxes, DO NOT delete the private key!
    Create passwords for the file and then click the Next button. You will need this password to sign with so make sure it is something you can remember.
    Pick a file name and location. Browse for a location you can remember as you will need to know where you put the file in order to use it to sign with. Click the Next button.
    Click the Finish button
    Click the OK button on the confirmation dialog
    Click the Close button on the Certificates dialog
    Click the OK button on the Internet Properties dialog
    Step 2 - Add the file to Acrobat
    Select Signatures from the Categories list box
    Click the More button in the Identities & Trusted Certificates group box
    Click the Add ID toolbar button
    Click the Next button
    Click the Browse button
    Navigate to and select the file you exported above and then click the Open button
    Enter the password you used above and then click the Next button
    Click the Finish button
    You will see two items in the list box with the same name. Highlight the one whose Storage Mechanism is "Digital ID File"
    Click the Usage Options toolbar button and then select Use for Signing
    Close the Digital ID and Trusted Certificate Settings
    Click the OK button on the Preferences dialog
    The next test is to see if you can sign a file. Please let me know if it works or not.
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Does a volume license for Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard entitle me to make an upgrade to Adobe Acrobat VI Standard?

    Does a volume license for Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard entitle me to make an upgrade to Adobe Acrobat VI Standard?

    It's XI not VI (roman numerals for eleven).
    Probably not. It does depend to an extent on the volume licensing program that is in use. Some programs include update rights - that doesn't mean you can buy an upgrade, it means the program manager can get upgrades.
    If you are one of those people who have a volume license "cut off" from your program manager e.g. after leaving a company, I think that is the end of the line.

  • Acrobat 9 Standard .ppt/pptx to pdf missing objects after conversion

    We have Acrobat 9 Standard fully updated, office 2007 fully updated and patched with the Microsoft pdf converter add-on on XP service pack3
    When converting ppt/pptx and doc/docx to pdf some of the pictures and information on the slides are missing. If a completely remove Acrobat and just leave the Microsoft pdf converter on, it is able to convert the files correctly.  If I install Acrobat 8 standard it works fine also. The majority of the files that it seems to not be converting and leaving off are .emf and .jpg files. It is not all .emf files just the majority
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Have you tried answering no, then going to Help>Repair and follow up with Help>Updates? A last resort is to uninstall (after deactivation), run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove leftover parts of Acrobat folder, reboot and reinstall. Be sure you have the installation files archived on a CD or backup drive and write the SN on the CD (and previous SN if an update) for future needs.

  • Cannot delete pages in Acrobat 9 Standard

    We have several new computers we just installed and 7 new acrobat 9 standard discs with serial numbers.  Installation went fine.  We can create PDFs but when we try to edit, we cannot delete pages.  Online help shows how to delete pages in Acrobat 9 Standard, but the Delete option is not available on the menus.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat 9 Standard on one computer to see if a new install would fix the problem, but it did not.  Anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

    Please use the camera icon for uploading screen captures or other pictures, then we do not have to wait for the file to be approved. To try to help a bit let us get a bit more information. OS? Any plugins for Acrobat installed?  Try this on a pdf that you create. Make sure no security is set for the pdf file.

  • Issue Installing Slipstreamed Acrobat (Pro & Standard)

    Good Afternoon -
    A few days ago, I slipstreamed both (Pro & Standard) of our Acrobat X installation files for deployment with SCCM.  After deployment failed, I looked up things in the event log, researched solutions, and slipstreamed again.  Still... same error - even when running from command line & cutting SCCM out altogether.
    Below is how I did it for each of the two versions.  Please tell me what's wrong...
    My Acrobat X SlipStream Process
    Copied Acrobat 10.x installation files to a folder local to my workstation (C:\10Stan)
    Downloaded AcrobatUpd1014.msp from Adobe's Product Update page
    Opened a command prompt as admin (running Windows 7 x64) and browsed to C:\10Stan
    Ran "msiexec /a AcroStan.msi"  Once opened, clicked Next then entered "C:\XStan" for target path.  Let it finish
    Ran "msiexec /a c:\XStan\AcroRead.msi /p AcrobatUpd1014.msp  Once opened, clicked Next, kept default path (C:\XStan) and let it finish
    Copied setup.ini from original setup file location to C:\XStan
    Ran Acrobat X Customization Wizard and opened AcroStan.msi in C:\XStan
    Entered Serial, User, Company, Silent Install, Suppressed Reboot, DIsabled Adobe Online & others on that page
    Generated Transform.  Saved as Custom.mst in C:\XStan
    I copied the XStan folder to a VM with out Gold Image (Win 7 x64), opened a command prompt as admin, and typed the following command: "msiexec /i acrostan.msi TRANSFROMS=Custom.mst /q
    The installation ran silently for a couple of minutes, but Adobe Icon never showed up.  I checked Event Logs and found the following...
    Product: Adobe Acrobat X Standard - English, Français, Deutsch -- Error 1334.The file 'adobearmhelper.exe' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
    I researched this error, but found that my process seemed to match what everyone was saying to do...
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    One more thing...  Do I really need to use the Setup.ini from the original installation media?  Previously, I created a setup.ini which was completely empty.  When generating the transform, it added only 2 lines to it.  Below are both files...
    Setup.ini Created from Blank File + Generating Transform
    [Startup]
    CmdLine=/sall /rs
    Original Setup.ini
    [Startup]
    RequireOS=Windows XP
    RequireMSI=3.0
    RequireIE=6.0.2600.0
    CmdLine=/sl"1033" /sall /rs
    [Product]
    msi=AcroStan.msi
    Languages=1033;1031;1036
    1033=English (United States)
    1031=German (Germany)
    1036=French (France)
    [Windows XP]
    PlatformID=2
    MajorVersion=5
    MinorVersion=1
    ServicePackMajor=2
    [MSI Updater]
    Path=WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
    I tried using both for installation, but each gave same erroneous result   Thanks

    Thanks -
    Well, I tried that and had a couple of issues...
    I ran "msiexec /a AcroPro.msi" and extracted to a folder named C:\XPro
    I then ran "msiexec c:\XPro\AcroPro.msi /p AcrobatUpd1010.msp" and kept default location.  Let patch run
    I then ran "msiexec c:\XPro\AcroPro.msi /p AcrobatUpd1011.msp", but got an error saying...
    This patch package could not be opened.  Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package.
    I tried running "msiexec /a AcroPro.msi" on the patched folder to a new folder and running next update again, but got the same message.
    I actually didn't start with 1010, but 1001 Tier 1.  I had the same results with it, too.
    Ideas?  Thanks

  • Fonction "recherche" sous Adobe Acrobat X Standard

    Bonjour,

  • Retail Copy of Acrobat XI Standard can't be installed! Help!

    I purchased a retail copy of Acrobat XI Standard, without realizing my all-in-one 20" tablet/desktop pc didn't have a disk drive. Now I need to be able to download a copy, but since i got it at the local computer store, and not online at Adobe.com, I dont have any history in my adobe account, under "my order history," that would alow me to click on the link to download. I did manage to get the copy registered to my account, but i need to get a downloadable copy, somehow. can anyone help me?

    "owners of CS2 or earlier, should download the non-activation version of CS2 from that link"  the link though says, "You can use the serial numbers provided as a part of the download only if you legitimately purchased CS2, CS2 applications, Acrobat 7, or Audition 3."   It says CS2 but not CS, does that mean i couldn't use that link?
    CS owners are happily downloading and using CS2 via that link.
    Adobe has made no other option possible for owners of "activation required" versions earlier than CS2 so CS2 is your only option regardless of the wording at the link..
    Does that in a sense mean no matter what CS copy you buy it will eventually be shut down and your access to it will be cut off even if you had bought it when it was still working?
    No-one knows the future of deactivation of existing products. In the history of activation, Adobe has only ever shut down an activation server once (CS2) and made an alternative possible for owners of that version.
    Activation is Adobe's inherently flawed attempt to curb casual piracy. It was always going to fail eventually. It only ever hurts legitimate owners of the software. The Cloud is Adobe's next gen anti-piracy measure.
    I'm extremely repulsed by the idea of having to pay a monthly fee for CC and would rather pay a flat (but realistic) price for the CS, but will go to photoshop CC if there is no other choice because an online workshop classes program i'm looking to sign up for requires either photoshop CS or CC (but strongly discourages elements).
    You can still purchase CS6 Creative Suite 6
    If you're signing up for online classes, I would suspect they expect you to be running either CS6 or Cloud versions of the software.
    Learning Photoshop online using 11 year old software sound like a recipe for confusion and frustration.

  • Creating Back navigation in Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard

    I have a huge pdf - actually an e-book - of more than 350 pages. Each page contains a health therapy with certain words hyperlinked which go to an explanation in the glossary, which is towards the end of the document. This means that the reader could click off page 9 to find themselves in page 320, and then after they've got their explanation, they will want to return to their original page (9).
    So how do I get them back easily?
    On Acrobat 7, there was a way of doing this. And it is explained here in this tutorial:
    http://library.queensu.ca/webir/e-theses/word-to-pdf-etd_tutorial.pdf
    The way to do it is found in Lesson 4, Section 3. It says:
    * In the Actions pane select the "Execute a menu item" then click on the "Edit" button.
    * The Menu Item dialog box presents itself. Select, from the menu, "View>Go To> Previous View.
    My problem is that none of these navigation titles such as Actions, or Bookmarks Properties, or Execute a Menu Item appear in my Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard.
    And I'm not even sure whether Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard can perform this navigation tool, or whether it is only available in Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional. I rang Technical Support, but they didn't know. So they referred me to Customer Services, but they didn't know. So Customer Services referred me to Sales, and they didn't know ...
    So please can anyone here help? I would be very grateful.
    Thanks for listening!

    Thank you for your swift response,
    The problem is that the form has to be filled out and then submitted via email, as you mentioned the email clients have trouble, I do not have a problem with the amount of submissions as I do not think I will ever hit the max on the form.
    I have been doing some digging, can I use "Extend Forms Fill-In & Save In Adobe Reader" function on the form so the users can fill out the form and then save it? And if so are you also able to have the "submit Form" function with this or can it only be one or the other?
    Thanks in Advance

  • How do I get more drawing tools for editing in Acrobat 9 standard?

       I have Acrobat 9 Standard, and I am trying to edit architectural PDFs with the editing tools available. What I need is a way to create and save symbols, draw simple revisions, and generally apply a layer to indicate changes (a red line plan) for the architects and engineers I work with. They utilize this PDF to modify their DWG files and produce revised drawings. I do not want to train in Autocad if I can continue to utilize Adobe products to achieve the same goal. Acrobat gives me a lot of tools to work with, but I need more related to architectural drawing. I will upgrade or purchase another program if need be.
