Cv01n-grey field

Dear all,
In t-code CV01N, "create original" icon is there after clicking this icon pop-up will appears In that poo-up five field are there, but one field "storage category" is in grey .
I want to assign storage category there only . How can activate this field?

As per customer requirement, We need to display the PO document date in grey field. So that user cant edit at time of PO creation.
Any configuration changes available for change PO document date in display mode.
Note: I have checked in IMG->MM->PO->Define screen layout. But no field available for PO document date.

Hi,
Go to SHD0 and create aTransaction Variant of transaction code ME21N as ZME21N and mark PO Date field as Display.

If u are using doc. type FO, then see the field slection for that type.
SPRO - MM- purchasing - p.o - define screen lay out at doc. level - slect FOF - details.
Here, you can change GR based invoice verification field from display to optional entry.

EAN/UPC field in sales order is grey field

Dear all,
when i am creating Sales Order, EAN/UPC field is grey field i cannot enter any value in that.
I want to used these field, then how i can use these field.
Also is there any specific purpose for the EAN/UPC field,where it is used.

What our Friend said is correct it comes from Material master- Basic data 1 view. But for this you will have to do proceed with configuration settings in
IMG --> Logistics General --> Settings for Key Fields --> International Article numbers (EAN)
a. You will have to define number of ranges for EANs/UPCs
b. Define Prefixes
c. Define Attributes - (Define number or EAN CAtegories) its here you need to maintain internal or external
d. Define no ranges for perishables
you can maintain data internally or externally based on your config settings. I have tried it in my material master maintained EA - perishable EA Category in MM automatically an internal no got assigned in EAN field after saving i raise a sales order the no. is reflecting in my sales order item details under sales tab - field.

Grey field for project definition and WBS element

Dear all,
I have created a project and WBS element in CJ01. Now I go via CJ02 to the change mode and the project ID and WBS element ID is not greyed out. But I would like that the system shows these key fields as not changeable anymore, only fields like description should be changable. Can you please tell me, which customizing step I missed to get the grey field for project ID/WBS element ID?
FYI I do not use a project mask to create the project.

I don't think you can grey out the Project Definition and the WBS Element fields after the creation .
If you want to restrict the users to change the Proj definition and WBS , a better way is through
Authorization objects and restricting only specified users to change the WBS

I have noticed there are many posts from you on easyDMS (starting from u201C what are the drawbacks.etc etc).looks like you are facing some issues in implementing the easyDMS. but that also shows that you have not gone through the proper documentation which is available with the installation of easydms in pdf formats..
you can first go through the documents carefully (step by step approach)..once you do it, you will get a very clear picture of what is easydms and how it works..after that in case you get some specific issues you can always post them in SDN..
Sometimes investing some time to learn a product will provide you more insights about product..by QnA session you wont be able to know all the features of easydms (or for any other product in general).
Plz take is in a positive way..we have experts in SDN who can help but even god helps those who help themselves

Disable Crystal reports grey fields in the preview

Dear forum users, I've got an application not written by me (so I do not have source code) that displays a Report in a standard Crystal Report Viewer. In the preview when I click on a field it gets rounded with a grey border, filled with a grey background.
This is causing me some problems when I use the application via Remote Desktop Connection.
Since I don't like this feature the question is: can I disable this feature (maybe by changing an entry in the Registry Editor)?

I think maynot be. whats the screen resolution of your system? If you change it probably you can see that particular grey box clearly.
or
try to export that file to excel or pdf. probably you will see the file with you vagueness.

Fields appear grey instead of light blue

I have a user (using Acrobat X) that when she opens a pdf form she sees the fields in grey. Even though she changes the settings in Prefernces to light blue, it defaults back to grey.

Hey George .. just got back from the user's desk. Here's what I can report and maybe that'll make things clearer. I open Adobe Acrobat x pro - go into prefernces, then forms and select light blue. click ok and then I can open the document with a light blue field. I can successfully do this multiple times .. however, when I close Adobe and re-open it the default color is pink ( which gives nmeme a grey field again). The user sauid any other peerson in her area can open those same documents with no color issue. Any suggestions? Is there a location in the registry that can change the default color to make it stick?

Catalog codes not getting displayed in Field- QS41

During my customisation activity, codes of catalog profiles are not getting displayed in SAP screen. Field for codes are showing as blank grey area in QS41 Tcode. If I try creating same codes again, system throwing error saying "key for entry is exisying already".
Another observation is in the initial screen of QS41 if I select catalog and codes from folders all codes we can see for selection in initial screen, but same is not getting displayed in field for codes in QS41, its showing blank grey fields. Could anyone tell me what might be reason. Its happening for standard catalog profiles also.

How to check the field existence in a string at Header level?

I have a bunch of fields on my_form, just for example here in this posting I am using US state names ....., say for example,
I have 3 fields, their names are as below
1) NY,
2) CA,
3) TX
I placed a hidden a text field, its name is GFL (i mean, Grey Fields List), am using this GFL for my programming purpose
From the back end (in our case, its an ERP -SAP) am populating/filling this GFL field, say for example.... its data looks like, CA TX (i mean, am concatenating the state names with a seperation of a space)
( FYI.....Already i have some JS piece in my_form INITIALIZATION and docReady events for some other purposes)
Now, my requirement is as below,
1) LOOP all the FIELD objects (here they are as State names) of my_form , then check whether their name (NY) existing in GFL's data..........if exisitng (in our case, its not existing) pls. greyed out with readOnly.......... if not existing
(in our case, its not existing) then skip the coloring and readOnly, go to next loop / iteration / state / Field
Actually, i can achieve my requirement by putting JS in each field objet's INITIALIZATION event itslef as below, (but, i have around 200 feilds in my_form, hence i would like to put at HEADER level by generically looping all the field objects in my_form in one piece of code),

PO price grey mode required from all type of PO's

We have created different PO types. We have the info record for all the materials. If we select PO type and processed the material, the rate is coming under grey field. This is we required. If we process the same material through standard PO, system is allowing to change the price. This we don't want. If we maintained price in info record, either processed through correct PO type or standard PO, system wants to give the price with Grey mode only. This is the requirement. How it be solved? can any one guide me on this.

Thumbnail appears but no image in the display field

I have downloaded several photos from the same Canon camera into Image Browser (software that comes with the camera) and I have imported them into iPhoto 6 but only some appear in the display area for editing etc. They all appear as thumbnails in the upper field. The ones that wont display when double clicked show a grey field with dotted white square and ominous exclamation mark! If there is some explanation that goes with this in iPhoto I can't find it. How do I get the images to work?

Assuming that you haven't changed things in the iPhoto Library Folder, and rebuilding doesn't work, try downloading iPhoto Library Manager and rebuilding with it. You can read about it here:http://homepage.mac.com/bwebster/iphotolibrarymanager.html
You could also try to force rebuild the iPhoto cache by going to Home / Library /Caches and delete the iPhoto Folder there.
However, if none of these work, then you may have a seriously corrupted database. In that case, you'll need to create a new library and start from scratch. To rebuild the library: move the iPhoto Library Folder to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library Folder on your desktop and find there the Originals folder. From there drag the individual rolls to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library Folder on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

The greyed field is due to authorization issue. Contact your Basis/Security guy to provide authorization. If the field you want is not there in ''Add fields on'' you can always ask the Abap consultants to include it there.
