In a Domain, as many corporate computers are configured, the network configuration prevents Protected Mode from being used. In effect the vulnerability is wide open on corporate networks (or home based systems with a domain and domain users) that are forced to use Adobe Reader with Protected Mode disabled. In these security bulletins the information posted is that they are not considered a threat while Protected Mode is enabled.
Has anyone identified the exact reason why Adobe Reader cannot have Protected Mode enabled with domain joined computers? There have been some suggestions that it is because of roaming accounts, but my Administrator accounts are non-roaming and suffer the same problem. (That includes the local administrator account.) I suspect it is because of the way that logons are handled, by being verified through the Domain Controllers (very tight security, here).

I would like to know, what error do you get when you launch a pdf file in Reader X. Do you get the Incompatability dialog as shown below?
Do you access the PDF files through a Distributed File System?
Do you access the files through a Citrix Server?
Do you use Roaming profiles?
These are the cases where you Reader does not open up in protected mode. I have tried using Reader X on a domain and it opens up in protected mode.

Sorry to bother you all m new to the SD forum and someone will help with GR posting issue. Initally I had a he problem with Ides system and the error was POSTING PERIOD ONLY IN 5/2006 AND 4/2006. I managed to resolve it by doing the following , which was suggested by another member on the forum.
Enter T code SE16N.
Enter table name MARV. Press enter.
Enter your company code in the required field. Press enter.
Enter &SAP_EDIT in the place where you entered the T code. Press enter. Now it is in edit mode.
Execute (click on Clock icon). A new screen appears.
Enter The Current Year: Current Month: Year of the previous Month: Previous month: Last year: Last month of the calendar year. As asked in the screen.
Press enter. Save and come outside.
Please do remember all the time period should be as per your system calendar.
Now m kinda of stuck again in MIGO and the new error m getting is : POSTING PREIOD 008/2011 NOT OPEN . The following are my parameters in mmrv

Thanks for all the help, I have done what you suggested on the requests and the system generated a request after inputting the description. I have to managed to save the changes and tried to post but m getting some runtime errors..I middle of rebooting my system. Yes its its my test system which m using for certification. The other problem I have is that my system is very slow and keep getting these runtime errors and have debugged bbut still keep coming up. The POSTING PERIOD 008/2011 NOT OPEN is nomore but m now getting runtime errors.. I ahve tried but run it a few times but the error keeps coming. I do not know whats wrong now.

Excel 2011 not opening on the same screen I am on
When using Excel and Word 2011 I noticed when I have excel spreadsheets or word documents already open, opening a new one or closing one will move me to a screen with an open word or excel file when I have the option to move to a window with an open file for the application. I have mutiple desktops through mission control, and I like to use each space for whatever project I am working on. Having Office programs swap the screen for me is mildly frustrating as I wnat to open whatever document or create a new document in whichever screen I am using at the time.
It appears to be an Office 2011 issue as only programs from Office exhibit this behavior. (So far that I have seen)Anyone experiancing this issue? To clarify, opening and closing excel and word files are moving me to screens where I have other excel or word files open when using mission control. I all mission control boxes unchecked in system preferences and I don't see anything in the excel preferences that could be overriding it.

Office 2011 not opening on Mavericks.

First time posting. Updated to Mavericks and Office (word, excel and PP) wont open at all. I have deinstalled and reinstalled, deinstalled and cleared every bit of micorsoft and then reinstalled.. still wont work. I checked for the latest software- hasnt changed any thing.
This is the error message I get when opening. Ive searched the support communities.. the deinstalling and reinstalling seemed to work for others.. but not for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What installer are you using to install? Did you purchase Office 2011 or do you have the Office365 installer?
There is no Remove Office for 2011. You can see the files that are installed to do a manual remove here. I suspect you will find most do not exist on your drive. Do you even see the Microsoft Office 2011 folder in Applications?

Microsoft Office 2011 Not Opening
Hi there,
I have not been able to get Microsoft Office 2011 to work on my MacBook (Yosemite) apart from the first day it was installed. Since then it has failed to open any application (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook). I have searched the internet for an answer and have tried pretty much everything so far.
- Uninstall / re-install (multiple times).
- Had my computer completely wiped by Apple and started again.
- Installed Office via CD Rom, internet site Microsoft gave me, other sites on the web.
The basis of my problem is that nothing will open. For some reason though, my Powerpoint app at least loads and says that I need to rebuild the 'Database Utility'. This has been the consistent error since day 2, however when I do this it changes nothing. All my updates and software are up-to-date, yet I can't fix the problem.
Has anyone experienced this or know a way which may help me in this situation? The fact that it hasn't worked despite my computer being literally cleaned completely and installed again worries me.I have the somewhat same problem. I have an iMac and a Macbook Air. Microsoft office 2011 for mac was loaded on both under previous OS X versions. After upgrading to Yosemite, they still both worked. But I removed Office from my Macbook air and reloaded it in an attempt to load some other features in excel that I had not loaded the first time. After this, Office does not load or launch on the Macbook Air. It still runs fine on the iMac.

Office for MAC 2011 Excel opening 17 workbooks upon open of program
Hello all,
My client is having an unusual error. When he opens Excel, or opens a workbook (.xlsx) all the workbooks on the computer open. When I counted, there were 17. We would like this to not occur, and to have only the program, or one workbook
that was meant to open come up.

The forum long time contributors generally do not like any 3rd party anti-malware, Mac cleaners, nor memory cleaners, so if you know you have any of these installed, you should consider uninstalling them. EtreCheck output will identify many of them. -
Rolling out ADE to Open Access Computers in libraries
(In the UK). In Plymouth we are using Secure Electronic Delivery as the default to deliver access to documents provided by the British Library. Internet Explorer 7 (and this is also known with Firefox and other browsers) causes an ebook reader detection error as part of the downloading process "Downloading this eBook requires Adobe Acrobat eBook Reader version 2.2 or later to be installed on your computer" (even though all our computers are on Reader 7.0.9). The page then provides a link to download the latest version. The problem is that, despite being told to ignore the link and scroll to the 'download your ebooks' link further down the screen, many users are clicking the update link and ending up with Adobe Reader 8 without ADE, or a misfunctioning ADE because they do not have administrator rights, or a screen which hangs and does nothing, or an ADE that will not allow them to print. In open access areas all computers are locked to a standard 'frozen' image which is restored after each log-out. Users, therefore, are unable to save any changes which means that they also have to repeat the steps every time they want to download an SED everytime they log-in. (Yes, because of 'easy activation', we also have to make it clear to these users that it is 'download and then print' or there is no further access to the document, despite a 14day access rule; and no-use of memory sticks too!). We would love to be able to maintain our ability to standardise these computers on the latest version of the Reader software, but are unable to do so because we do not have the manpower to manually install ADE on each computer (over 2,500!) to make it part of the 'locked' image. We know the eBook Reader detection error is most probably caused by the underlying software technology difference between IE7 and Adobe 7 and would hope that installing Adobe Reader 8 and ADE would restore the seamless process that we had long established using the Reader 7 series!
Could not Adobe please consider a means by which, say ADE 1.5, could be packaged and rolled-out centrally? Then also consider doing the same for future releases - it would really make life easier for everyone. If not we will have to remain on Reader 7.0.9 and users will 'suffer' as the technology becomes more and more obsolete, and suffers from more and more problems caused by a widening gap in software technologies. We understand the idea behind the decision to make ADE an IRA (internet rich application) but the growing use of DRM and the need to delivery these documents within closed environments, to people who cannot be given full access permissions, means that there should also be a concurrent method to allow updating in such situations. Our 'problem' rate for SED is beginning to climb (from under 3% (based on 16,000 transactions) before the release of Adobe 8, to 6% afterwards (based on 7,000 transactions). Before the release of 8, 70% of the problems were because people didn't read instructions we provided; after 8's release, 70% of the problems are caused by the technologies (eBook detection; downloading Reader 8 and not ADE; ADE not functioning due to local permissions etc etc). These seriously affect the value of the service and also the perception people have of the service and of Adobe products (eg: the IE7 error states "Adobe eBook Reader not detected" so, even though your product may not be to blame for the users' inability to get to their document, they blame Adobe Reader, especially if they know they have Reader 7 installed!
My apologies for a long post but I consider it an important issue as well as it being important to lay out some of the logic and arguement as to why.

Safari won't open web page on my domain with apple e-mail program open

After installing Safari 3.1, I have had an issue that I thought was going to drive me mad. If I have the mail program open, I cannot access any webpage on my domain. Lets say my domain was vvv.com. If I have the mail program open I cannot access www.vvv.com, no any subdomains on there. If I close the mail program and then just refresh the page in the browser, it works just fine. I have searched thru the forums, but cannot identify a solution. If anyone has an idea for me to try, I would appreciate any feedback and helpful hints. Yes, I know that I can just close the email program, but I am in the process of starting up a business website and having to remember to open my email program every so often is something I don't need.
And by the way, the problem also affects firefox also.

Office 2013 will not open unless user is a Domain Admin
In order to get the Office 2013 suite to install from Office 365, I had to make all the users (115 in 4 offices) a domain admin, we then installed the software on everyone's computers and we have migrated our email. However, I now need
to remove all the users from being a domain admin, but when I do none of Office programs will open, no error message, just a spinning wheel for 10 seconds and nothing. I need to remove the users from being a domain admin as they can now see
network drives that they were previously restricted from. All computers are Windows 7 Pro. I have even installed the suite on a brand new computer, installed as admin, login as a domain user and nothing will open.

Please turn off all of security programs and 3rd-party programs (Windows clean boot) and then launch Office component, such as Word.exe with safe mode. ("Winword.exe /safe") to check if it opens successful in non-domain user rights.
Don't use Office shortcut to open Office but double click the .exe file under %programfiles%\Microsoft Office to check if the office process appears in Windows Task Manager.
In addition, please go to eventvwr to check if there is any errors regarding to permission or Office exist. If so, post it here for further checking. Thanks.

One of my users are having problem with old accounting files in Excel 2003 when opening Excel 2010.
The user experience that linked information is not being updated properly.
And suspects that it something do with Universal Data Connection .
How can an Excel 2003 spread sheet be converted to Excel 2010 spread sheet and still contain active links?
When the user is opening and converting the file as mention in your suggestion, on the common share on a common domain, the links "breaks".
we are not using SharePoint on our domain.
But when doing it on a local machine, the links does not "breaks".

Rgdsit sounds link, the links changed from relative paths to absolute path. You need to use absolute path in original file.

Mail program has stopped working
A few weeks ago I discovered I was unable to send pictures through the Mail program. Now I'm also unable to send text emails. The only thing I'm receiving is spam. I contacted my ISP which is my phone comany and they say it's a Apple program problem.
