  • CVS Branching in 10.1.3Studio

I have been attempting to determine how to do branches in CVS using JDev10.1.3Studio but can find no references to this in the help, or anywhere else in JDev?
The JDev CVS help references The CVS manual and suggests to read this manual which, in CH 6, discusses 'Branching and merging'.
So my question is how do I do CVS branching in JDev10.1.3Studio.
    THANKS - Ken Cooper
    Please respond to [email protected]

    Ken,
A couple of days ago there was a thread (CVS branching in JDeveloper Studio Edition Version?) that indicates JDev does not currently support branching, and that you must use an external client to create branches as of now.

  • Could someone help me build gstreamer-bad from cvs?

I'm using Exaile as my music player and I would really appreciate if the equalizer worked.
The problem is that it needs gstreamer-bad cvs and I'm not good enough in linux to make it myself...
So if somebody would like help me create a script that could this automatically that would be great and maybe someone else will have use for it.
I've tried before and got help back then to and this is as far as I and that person (on from the forum) came:

I'm not quite sure, but I think that equalizer will work only with svn gstreamer core. You might want to try rebuilding both of them

  • I'm trying to import contacts to outlook 2011 from a cvs file.  I've followed all the steps, mapped the fields, clicked import -- it shows that it imported my 900 contacts --- but the contact field remains blank and I can't see any information.  Help?

I'm trying to import contacts to outlook 2011 from a cvs file.  I've followed all the steps, mapped the fields, etc.  It appears to import all 900 contacts, but after finishing nothing appears in my contact list.  Any ideas on why this is not working?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • CVS Workshop 8.1 help

    Hi all,
I came to know that the problem is the version of the CVSNT and cvs.exe that
is available to Workshop through the environmental variable.
It is mandatory that we have to add cvs.exe to OS PATH. So that the workshop
    will launch this process.
This will solve the problem of create process.
But with problems that I faced, I understand that workshop is specific to
    particular version of "cvs.exe"
Now, I am able to access the CVS server from workshop but not with
"ntserver" protocol. I am using "sspi" protocol.
I tried with "pserver" too, it works fine.
So I need to know which version of "cvs.exe", the developers are suppose to
    use.
Points to remember while configuring workshop with CVS.
    1. correct "cvs.exe" should be in the PATH variable
    2. Don't use "ntserver" protocol.
    3. Use "pserver" or "sspi" ( I tested both. Works fine )
    4. "pserver" protocol requires that the user should be logged in before
    doing a cvs operation.
    5. To be functional , cvs module should be imported and check out before
opening workshop. There is no built in method to import and check out from
    Workshop.
    6. If want to customize workshop with cvs commands, CVSROOT variable should
be defined before you launch the Workshop.
Hope this is help full to all.

  • Help needed on weblogic portal source control under CVS

    Hi,
Is that good or bad to put all the portaldomain under CVS control? eg.
my portal domain directory structure under development environment is
    like the following:
    c:\myportaldomain --|
    |--beaApps
    |---portalApp
    | |---------myportalApplication
    |
    |---portalApp-project
I think the stuff I need to put under CVS are "myportalApplication"
    and "portalApp-project" directories.
However, I want to organize the CVS directory structure like the
    following:
    c:\myportalmodule --|
    |--src
    |--docs
    |--"myportalApplication"
    |--"portalApp-project"
So this means: after I checkout from CVS, I need to copy the two
    directories "myportalApplication" and "portalApp-project" from
    c:\myportalmodule into corresponding sub-directories under
c:\myportaldomain, before I can do any development and testing. also,
if I make some changes on c:\myportaldomain, and I want to checkin, I
need to copy those files back to c:\myportalmodule. I tried to use
directory softlink, but it windows NT just offer shortcut, which
    doesn't work.
Can somebody give some education how to integerate the weblogic portal
    with CVS source control systems?
    Thanks very much

    Hi Rene,
Thanks for the very helpful info.
I think maybe I have a idea how to set up the dev environment now,
basically I will organize the CVS repository and weblogic directories
    in the same way.
    c:\myportalmodule--|
    |---myportaldomain
    | |---beaApps
    | |---portalApp
    | | |---------myportalApplication
    | |
    | |---portalApp-project
    |--src
    |--docs
    |--build.xml
So before everybody can checkout any code from CVS, he need to
configure a new domain named "myportaldomain" in c:\myportalmodule
directory. Since the CVS and his domain have the same directory
structure, so when he do the fully checkout, the files will actually
be put into the right place, and he can checkin his files easily.
one annoying thing is that, since there are other files (such as
startPortal.bat, etc )generated by domain configuration wizard in
c:\myportalmodule\myportaldomain, which are not in CVS repository. so
everytime, we do a checkout, CVS will issue the warnings saying those
files are in CVS repository. Please advise is there any potential
problems or issues with this setup? Thanks for your help!!!!!
    "René Zanner" <[email protected]> wrote in message news:<[email protected]>...
    Hi,
we did a similar thing, but we put the whole beaApps directory in the CVS, because
we had more applications and also modified some things inside the tools application
    of BEA...
With CVS you can do a 'partial' checkout of your module, that means you do not
need to copy the folders back and forth, but you can check in and update directly
    in you domain directory.
The command for a partial checkout is:
    cvs co -d <name of destination folder> <module name>/<path to your folder>
Once checked out here, you can work with the files like in the complete checkout.

  • I want to find the best way to send my pictures from Aperture to CVS for processing.  How do I do that?  Also, there doesn't seem to be a good app to go from Iphone to CVS either.  Please help

How do I easly send my pictures from Aperture to CVS for actual printing?  I always have trouble finding my photos in the Aperture library when I need to load them into the CVS web interface.  I can't even tell which photos they are without seeing them.
Also, what's the best way to do it from my Iphone.  Doesn't seem to be a good app for that.

Export the adjusted version from Aperture to the Desktop. Download the exported version to CVS.
You shouldn;t be looking in the Aperture library (if by looking you mean using the Finder on the library). Use Apertures tools to do this. Besides the only thing you could get out of the library would be the  original file that you imported into Aperture not the version with your adjustments.

  • Plz plz help me.... How can i download or save my sms (cvs & xml format) from my pc to iphone 3gs???

i ve lost my android phone. but i ve backed up some phone data before. i ve successfully added my contact into iphone through email attachment. but i can not add my sms the way i ve added contacts. plz help me informing the way hopw i can add my sms into iphone.

Sorry, there is no way to add SMS history to an iPhone. What you can do is save it to a file, then paste the file into a Note and sync the note. Or into a Word or Pages document and sync that.

  • HELP! - Lost CVS Version Control Profiles in JSC-2

Can anyone tell me how to restore the default JSC-2 Version Management CVS Profile?
Somehow I managed to delete the CVS AND the VSS Profiles, so I cannot set up ANY sort of Version Management.
What can I do to fix this??
    Many thanks in advance,
    <-j->

I think the easiest way would be to start with a fresh userdir. That's where the IDE stores all the per-user changed information.
Move $HOME/.Creator/2_? (0 or 1 depending on which update version you are) to something like $HOME/.Creator/2_?.myOld ;-)
Now the next time you start the IDE, everything should be back in order with the version control. But you will have to open you projects again etc!
    Thanks,
