CVS NI1454 Labview RT 8.2, NI-VISA probleme : "NI-VISA loads modules... At Least one passport on your system could not be loaded"

Bonjour,
"NI-VISA loads modules(Passports) ro access GPIB, Serial, VXI, etc.... At Least one passport on your system could not be loaded. You should run the Measurement & Automation Explorer"

  • MapPoint Control 11 in Labview Container = Control could not be loaded

I am working with Labview 6.1 to create an application using a "Microsoft MapPoint Control 11.0" ActiveX component. When I first create a container for it, I can insert the component and it will load and operate correctly. However, after closing the vi and reopening it, the container says "Control could not be loaded", and I need to re-insert the object to get it to work each time. I will need to compile and run this at some point, so I need to fix this problem or ditch Labview now. I have tried reinstalling Labview runtime and the MapPoint Application, but this does not fix the problem. Working with MapPoint as an automation object (without a container) seems to work ok, but I need interactive control through the container. Any suggestions?

    Ankita--
Yup. Tried that one, as a search of the NI site comes up with reinstall and register as the only solutions for "control could not be loaded" errors ... but it didn't make a difference for me...
Odd to think that it can run fine right after the control is loaded, but after save/close/reopen, it's not working... hmmm.

  • NI-VISA is installed, but visa32.dll could not be loaded.

    Hi,
When I start MAX, it shows the yellow exclamation mark icon and "VISA Error" under Devices and Interfaces.
The description of the error is "C:\Windows\system32\visa32.dll was found but could not be loaded."
I followed MAX's suggestion to repair the VISA installation but the error remains the same.
I also tried to uninstall and reinstall VISA again but it doesn't make any difference.
    I'm using
    NI-VISA 4.2

I am quoting matt's reply to a similar problem
A complete uninstall is PROBABLY not necessary. Usually we can get
NI-VISA straightened out without destroying too much of what you have
    done.
    A) Yes, C:\Windows\System32\ is the correct place to be looking for
VISA32.dll. If it's not there, NI-VISA will have issues (any VISA for
    that matter).
    B) You definitely want this file to be put there by our installer, not
just placing it there. NI-VISA does install some reg-keys that have to
be there in order for it to run correctly.
    C) Instead of doing a repair on NI-VISA, I would recommend an uninstall
(of only NI-VISA), then a reinstall of NI-VISA. Make sure you're using
the latest installer for your Windows.
Let us know if we can be of any more assistance.
    Regards,
    Matt S.

It is not sufficient to disregard running your Matlab code in LabVIEW based on a few exceptions without first thoroughly evaluating the impact they have.
If you want to stick with Matlab in your implementation, then there are other avenues than hypotethizing about the limited portability issues of using MathScript in your project?

  • VBAI - LabView interface error - "The selected inspection could not be loaded", "Inspection File Error"

I have been programming/interfacing VBAI2012 and LV2011 for two years already.
There is one very frustrating problem:
    - Sometimes after changing some codes in VBAI, and I switch to Inspection Interface (by clicking File->Switch to Inspection Interface), there would be error saying "The selected inspection could not be loaded"
    - and then there is NO WAY to know what is going on. It does not tell you where the error is. Its so frustrating, you changed a couple of things, and the you have error switching to Inspection Interface, but then you don't know what is causing the error.
Is there any log file which I can check?

    Guys,
I have resolved this issue and successfully installed and configured jive forums on my laptop.

  • Using LabVIEW 6.0.1 in Win2K, I get the Application Error: The instruction at "0x004be060" referenced memory at "0x00000001". The memory could not be "read".

I have several VIs that use the same typedef. This "super" typedef consists of of a cluster containing 6 arrays. Each array has elements that are themselves typedefs. The array element typedefs consist of a cluster of strings, a string array, and yet another cluster typedef of instrument handles. The total number of unique typedefs is 13 (1 super, 1 as the array element in the 6 arrays, and 1 in each array element).
When I make any changes to any of these typedefs and I try to open a VI that uses the "super" typedef, LabVIEW stops loading subVIs and crashes with the Application Error: Application Error: The inst
ruction at "0x004be060" referenced memory at "0x00000001". The memory could not be "read". Also note that this VI contains several subVIs that use this "super" typedef for terminal inputs and outputs.
What is causing this problem? My only solution to this is to rename the "super" typedef, open the VI, ignoring the load of the "super" typedef, and once the VI opens (with a broken arrow) relinking the VI to the typdef after renaming the typedef back to the original name. This becomes quite painful when you have to do this for each and every VI that uses this typedef on every revision of the typedef.

You might want to first install the 6.0.2 patch before digging too far into this. You can download it from the ftp site:
    ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/labview/windows/updates/6.0.2/
If the problem remains, then it is likely related to a few known issues with strict type defs. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done about it at the present time. You might try having the *.ctl file open in the editor when you open the VIs to see if that helps.

  • LabVIEW 8.6 has encountered a problem and needs to close.

In my program, I open and close a comport.
When closing my VI, I the a popup saying "LabVIEW 8.6  has encountered a problem and needs to close."
Why is this, could this be a memory leak?
Is there any utilities to analyse my VI to find the cause?

    Thanks for your reply James.
Do I need the Professional Development suite for the VI Analyzer ? I've only got the Full Development suite.
It happens 2 in every 3 times, and sometimes very random.
I open the comport (visa), send some data, which then causes the comport to continuously send data back. I close the comport
at this stage. Read in reviews, that I need to flush the receive buffer, so I do this the moment before I close the port.
So, I suspect there is data in the receive buffer, when I close the port, and this gives me the error.....? Could this be true?

  • Installer LV7.1 - LabVIEW load error code 21: An external subroutine required for execution could not be found.

    Bonjour,
load error code 21: An external subroutine required for execution could not be found.
    L'intégration du Run time Engine

  • Unexpected -310040 error (could not converge) in LabVIEW for Robotics: Inverse Kinematics VI

    Hi,
I downloaded the robot kinematics example Vis off of this page from devzone, and they work fine.
    Basics of Robot Kinematics
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/10687
“This is great!” I thought to myself.  I really wanted to play with the IK Vis.  So I went about defining my own serial arm, using my own lengths and configurations for each joint.
First, I ripped out all the dynamic parameters in Create Puma 560.vi.  Didn’t think I needed those just for the IK calculations.  I went about defining an arm with only one link with a length of 1 and a twist angle of 0.  I set my desired position to (1,0,0) and lo and behold, the VI worked with no error.  I then set position to (0,1,0), but this time the -310040 error occurred (could not converge).  Why Is this happening?  Am I missing something in the arm definition?
I then went on to doing some more trial and error, I added a second link, again with a length of 1 and a twist angle of 0. I tried (2,0,0), and it worked.  Even (1,1,0) worked, to my surprise, the two links would form a 90 deg angle.  But still, (-2,0,0) didn’t work.
Another question I have is, can the Robotic Arm Vis account for singular points that may occur (positions with no solutions or infinite solutions?)  An initial sweep of the arm workspace would be nice.  Also, for positions that have more than one solution, is it possible to input constraints on the joint angles so that only one solution is possible?
    Thanks for your response.

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply.  Fortunately I'm not dealing with prismatic joints in my application, so the visualization bug that you mentioned won't be a big issue to me.  I'm only dealing with revolute joints for now.  Your explanation for the prismatic joint was right on the spot, however I found a couple more quirks with revolute joints.
Consider the case of only one revolute joint, length=1, twist angle=0.  I would expect that this single joint allows the arm to revolve around the base in the XY plane.  So I plug in (1,0,0), I get a solution.  I plug in (0,1,0), no solution (see pic).  Same with (-1,0,0) and (0,-1,0), no solution.  So I fiddled around and added one more revolute joint of length=0 to the series.  Now the VI gives solution to all of the 4 positions I tried earlier.
"Ok" I thought to my myself, maybe I just need to tag a joint of length=0 to the end of my series, everything should work out.  Not so.  I tried having 3 revolute joints in total, 2 of them with length=1, the last one length=0, tried some different positions but most positions failed to converge.
My goal is simple ... to define a serial arm with 3 revolute joints, all rotating in the same plane, and try out the LabVIEW IK algorithms.  For simplicity's sake, all 3 links lengths=1.  Do you think you can provide an example?

  • Memory problem using visa serial functions in my vi

The last few days i created an application that reads data from one of
serial ports (contactless card reader). Today i noticed that my
application had crashed and Windows had displayed a message that my
system was low on virtual memory. I reset the system and i re-run the
application, having the task manager opened. I noticed that the memory
usage of my exe was taking more and more memory (starting from
21.520KB) as the seconds went by. In 5 minutes my app was using
25Mbytes! What i do in my application exactly, is opening the serial
port  then i enter the main while-loop, then every 2 seconds i read
from the  serial and write them to a tag.
I have used standard visa serial functions of Labview. When I trace my
application and simultaneously run TASKManager of windows to see the
memory, I saw that after running every Visa function memory usage goes
    up!!!
what must I do? Please help me to overcome this problem.
    Thanks,
    M.Naghipourfar

Trust me, people use serial communication with LV all the time without losing memory. I can't check the example at the moment, but If it had a problem someone would have caught on to it by now. In any case, even if using the serial VIs causes the memory usage to go up, it shouldn't be dramatic, definitely not enough to crash the application and consume all memory.
Like I said, post your code (there is an attachment field when you write your message and you can save all your files into a single file by opening the main VI and selecting File>>Save with Options>>Development Distribution) and we will probably be able to find your problem.
To learn more about LabVIEW, I suggest you try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here and here are a couple you can start with. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.
In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide and the LabVIEW user manual (Help>>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf).

  • How to create a VISA resource without "VISA FIND" or Serial Poll

I'm very new to LabVIEW and my experience so far with GPIB/VISA is to pass a GPIB address (from user control) to a C# function I created.  The function will build the correct VISA resource string, and try to connect using a message-based session one at a time to each board address.
I'm trying to do a similar action in Labview but so far, the only method I have seen is to use the drop-down Visa Resource.  When I use this, it scans the bus to find all the physically connected devices on the bus but the unfortunate side effect is that all the listeners go into remote mode which typically resets the devices to their default remote connection settings.
ie: This can turn off a the power o/p of a power supply that I didn't want to control at  that moment etc.
Can anyone tell me the proper or recommended method?  If I had a user control that allowed the user to enter in a GPIB address, would I just create the resource string myself on the block diagram and feed this into a VISA -OPEN .vi?

  • Visa resourse missing in pda module

i am creating a simple read and write ,rs232 program and then generating exe file from labview mobile module.when i am trying that exe file to run in wince compatible arm board , the com port controller(VISA RESOURCE) of VISA  is not visible.how to create com port controller that should compatible to pda module wince based.

    Hello Greycat,
The subpalettes for the VISA and Serial subVIs are suppose to be
unavailable if your target is a PDA device.  LabVIEW loads a
seperate palette set for each target.  Since VISA is currently not
supported on the PDA, you cannot directly open the the VISA functions
or the Serial functions when you are targeting a PDA device.
Instead, you can use the Serial Compatibility VIs, which then call the
    appropriate VISA calls.
    Hope

  • LV2009 hooks for customizing override VIs and accessor VIs

In LV2009, if you use LabVIEW Object-Oriented Programming, you may wish to customize the VIs that are created for New>>VI For Override and New>>VI For Data Member Access. Using scripting, you can do so by editing the four VIs listed below.  These VIs are called at the end
of their respective scripting processes and you are free to include any
scripting code you wish to further customize the VI in question. Some
common customizations you might want include changing the VI name (use
"get" and "set" instead of "read" and "write"), modifying the icon,
adding additional diagram logic, etc.  You cannot edit the callers of
these three VIs, but these three  provide the hook you need to
customize your new VIs as you want them.
    Customizations for Override VIs:
    <labview>\resource\Framework\Providers\LVClassLibrary\NewAccessors\OverrideRetooler\Custom
User Scripting For New Override VI.vi
    Customizations for basic accessor VIs:
    <labview>:\resource\Framework\Providers\LVClassLibrary\NewAccessors\BaseAccessorScripter\Custom
User Scripting For New Simple Accessor VI.vi
Customizations for 1D Array element accessor VIs:
    <labview>resource\Framework\Providers\LVClassLibrary\NewAccessors\ArrayElementScripter\Custom
User Scripting For New Array Element Accessor VI.vi
Customizations for multi-dim array element accessor VIs:
    <labview>\resource\Framework\Providers\LVClassLibrary\NewAccessors\MultiDimArrElemScripter\Custom
User Scripting For New MultiDim Array Element Accessor VI.vi

Oooh, I finally smell a reasonable by-ref implementation coming - the lack of this option always annoyed me and now I should hopefully be able to easily build the code which will generate the wrapper needed for the by-ref stuff.
