CVS or Subversion support planned in the very near future?
Hi,
Since JSC is based on NetBeans 3.6 I would've guessed that it would support nice features like CVS support, but it doesn't seem to be there. Am I right?

Right. Creator doesn't include all the modules that are in NetBeans. If you're an experienced NetBeans user you can find ways to combine them though. (Hint 1: look for 3.6 compatible modules and put in the usual places, hint 2: - ctrl-2 over the project navigator opens the filesystems tab... at least it used to. USE WITH CARE, you're on your own, etc. etc.)
And yes, version control integration with the project structure is on our todo list.

I am using SQL Developer 3.0.04 (latest download). I want to use CVS. I have downloaded the latest CVS from Oracle. But when I try to install it, I am getting the message:
Extension: oracle.jdeveloper.vcs

The install version number is the version number for Subversion.
How can I turn Subversion off and load the CVS extension?

This latter address I obtained from Help > Check for Updates. Check for Updates wizard, Source - Oracle SQL Developer, select CVS. Unfortunately, due to my installation's download restrictions, I copied the URL and performed the download off-site.
Then when I ran the wizard again and used the Install From Local File and pointed to the downloaded zip I received the message that I posted previously.

Since downloading osx v10.7lion every time i try to connect to the internet using BT Broadband i keep getting a message saying

Please can anyone help me as apple will not help unless i sign up for a new product agreement which i cannot understand as every thing worked before this so called very latest software that everyone cant do without ?????I had the same problem with some apps and printer setup software. SInce Rosetta has been discontinued on Lion my only solution was to restore to 10.6 since the manufacturers either have not yet or will not release updated apps. In this case you have to determine how important those old PPC apps are to keep around and if there alternitives that are available to replace the functionality. I would expect a broadband provider to update thier apps if it is something that is required to connect.

At the very end of installing iTunes 11.1.1.11 a window appears: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." Available choice is click "OK" then "Finish" and install has then failed.
Go to START > ALL PROGRAMS > Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you can't find ASU, go to Control Panel:
XP - Add n Remove Programs
Win7/Vista - Programs n Features
Highlight ASU, click change then Repair. -

When will iTunes Match be a supported part of the IOS8 Family Share?

I was originally happy with the new Family Share capabilities of IOS8. However, happiness turned to disappointment when I discovered that iTunes Match content CANNOT be shared amongst family members unless they are using the App Store ID where the iTunes Match subscription is based, defeating the the benefits of the Family Share.
My household consists of a Macbook Pro (OS X 10.9.5) with the iTunes (11.4.18) Library , 4 iPhones (2 x iPhone 6, 1 iPhone 5C, and 1 iPhone 4S all running IOS8) and 4 iPads (2 iPad Air and 2 iPad II all running IOS8). Before the Family share, the IOS devices shared the iTunes match library where the users could select which songs they wanted to download, and purchases made by them could be added to the library. Two of the 4 sets of devices are owned by my children, who are in their early teens. Why is it stated that you can "share music" among family members when that capability actually seems very limited with this new Family Share setup. Once the App Store ID is set to the Apple ID of the individual user, such as one of my children, the library and selections they originally had were removed and the option to turn iTunes Match on or off under Music Setup turned into "Subscribe to iTunes Match", which would cost each family member an additional $24.99 a year for a service that cost nothing for my other family members.
I realize there are ways to share music, such as having my Mac powered up with iTunes running, and the other devices selecting the library as a Share, seeing all music physically on the Mac and in the subscriber iTunes library. Also, the other users can look at family purchases, select the subscriber to iTunes Match, and see "purchased" items. However, that list is a subset of the overall library of over 6000 songs, which consists of CDs that were imported into iTunes. One of my children uses the iPhone while she exercises and runs. She will now lose the playlists she created with this new "Family Share", which does not have sharing of one of the biggest pool of items I wanted shared, or were shared before this new setup.
In short, is there any plan to give customers the benefits of the Family Share plan, and truly allow the sharing of one of the most shared resources in at least our family, the iTunes Match collection? Another question is WHY is iTunes match not a supported part of the Family Share?

We are a retail shop which has a copy of AppleCare Protection plan. The box is not sealed. How can I tell if the product has been registered or not.
Since the only thing needed in that box is the small piece of paper with the (very long) registration code on it (usually found inside the booklet), see if that is actually there and, if it is, call Apple at 800-275-2273 and ask to be transferred to the Applecare department. I have old MacBook running OS 10.6.8 I was told in Apple Genius Bar that I need a code from apple support to upgrade to 10.7. Apple support will not help because I am have their support plan. Can some one help?

Yes the idea is to backup the laptop - I thought I would just move it all now, new - and then keep saving/dragging physically across to the new drive myself each day or two...
Would this be the sizeof the internal hard drive = c.500 gb ? = under the HD icon on desktop is written :
" 499.76gb , 311.5 gb free "
I can erase and start agin on the new external drive - so this plan is to make two partititions, rather than the one at present, and make one of them 500 gb ?
I have found CCC [carbon copy cloner] googling - looks good.
When CCC site says it backs up the hard drive - would this mean all my files [over 100 gb] that are mostly in folders on the desktop, plus the others in itunes, iphotos etc found in the HD icon, would all copy across successfully [wherever they are in the computer ] ?

Is 64bit support planned for all toolkits?

some years ago a programmed a large application in LabVIEW 2010 with the help of some toolkits.
Currently I am thinking about switch to LabVIEW 2013 but in the 64bit version and update some stuff.
To my surprise almost no toolkit included in the Developer Suite Core Edition has a 64 bit Version.
Is the support planned or should I avoid doing anything new in LabVIEW since I can never use the large amounts of memory any computer offers today.Sense wrote:

The first LabVIEW version which supported 64bit was 2009.
Now nearly 4 years later I can't see any progress in the transition from 32bit to 64bit at least regarding toolkits.
This is just a guess (Fairly well thought out but, just a guess)
There is no difference in licensing LabVIEW x32 and x64. In fact, I believe you can have them installed side-by-side (Never tried this myself)
Not many applications actually REQUIRE x64 as of today and very few LabVIEW applications developed with the current toolkits would require x64 architecture since (Drumroll please....). The existing x32 Toolkits WORK in a 32 bit architecture.
So, there is no market need to provide the existing toolkits with features that they do not take advantage of. Are you following so far?
Toolkits that CAN and MUST take advantage of a 64 bit OS cannot be deployed on 32 bit systems. What advantages do you feel you can provide your user's by moving a 32 bit TK to 64 bit?

CBO generating different plans for the same data in similar Environments
Hi All
I have been trying to compare an SQL from 2 different but similar environments build of the same hardware specs .The issue I am facing is environment A, the query executes in less than 2 minutes with plan mostly showing full table scans and hash join whereas in environment B(problematic), it times out after 2 hours with an error of unable to extend table space . The statistics are up to date in both environments for both tables and indexes . System parameters are exactly similar(default oracle for except for multiblock_read_count ).
Both Environment have same db parameter for db_file_multiblock_read_count(16), optimizer(refer below),hash_area_size (131072),pga_aggregate_target(1G),db_block_size(8192) etc . SREADTIM, MREADTIM, CPUSPEED, MBRC are all null in aux_stats in both environment because workload was never collected i believe.
Attached is details about the SQL with table stats, SQL and index stats my main concern is CBO generating different plans for the similar data and statistics and same hardware and software specs. Is there any thing else I should consider .I generally see environment B being very slow and always plans tend to nested loops and index scan whereas what we really need is a sensible FTS in many cases. One of the very surprising thing is METER_CONFIG_HEADER below which has just 80 blocks of data is being asked for index scan.
