CVS protocol error with Xcode 3
Dear all,
I'm having a hard time getting Xcode talk to our CVS repository. While everything works fine at command line level, I get the following error from within Xcode 3:
*cvs [server aborted]: protocol error: directory '/E/CVS/repository' not within root 'E:/CVS/repository'*
CVSROOT is set to ":pserver:myname@myserver:/E//CVS/repository"
Again, when exporting CVSROOT from command line and using +cvs co+ everything is fine and also Eclipse3 is happy with the setup.
Anyone a clue?
Cheers
Mobi.
Is there a UNC path you could use?
What are you using for a CVS server? Are you just using CVS and pointing it at a shared path? You can run CVSNT on a Windows server and it will provide a decent CVSROOT. You can also try running CVSNT on the Mac (I do), but I don't know if it would help if you aren't running CVSNT on Windows. It might handle that path better, I don't know.
Also, I don't remember if Xcode 3 uses its own internal CVS code or not. I know they have made changes in CVS, and not for the better. Look at your SCM settings and see if you can specify an external CVS client to use. Back in Xcode 2.5, they recommended using "/usr/bin/ocvs" if you had problems. The 'o' was for obsolete. It wasn't really obsolete though. Apple decided as of Xcode 2.5 to start using CVS wrappers again like it was 1997. I don't know what they are doing currently. I switched to CVS-NT and didn't look back. Now I only have random "file is in the way" errors in Xcode.

Hey there,
I just got the following error message in XCode:
Uncaught Exception:
* -[XCActionManager buildAndGo:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x2883bf0
Stack Backtrace:
The stack backtrace has been logged to the console.
I think is is related to a recurring problem I've been having where my application will be working fine, and compiling fine, and then randomly when I run it it will give me a black screen on the simulator, and throw a pile of errors in the console. The thing that strikes me as very strange about this is if I revert to a previous snapshot it STILL doesn't work. I suspect that this might have something to do with when Time Machine is running, and last time it happened I turned off Time Machine and then "Touched" all my project files, and it got better, but then it stopped working again 10 minutes later...
Any advice/input on what may be happening?
I'm thinking of reinstalling the developer tools, unless someone has a tip on what this might be. While it's possible that it's some code I'm writing, or some corrupted file, I wouldn't know how to go about tracking it down...Welcome to Apple Discussions, Zen-X!

Mac CS4 Linker Error with IAIColorSpace.cpp
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to use AIColorSpace in my Mac AICS4 Plug-In using Xcode 3.1.1 on Leopard 10.5.7, but I'm getting a linker errors (see below).
Has anyone here included "IAIColorSpace.cpp" in their project and successfully compile an AICS4 plug-in using Xcode 3.1.1 on Leopard?
When I include IAIColorSpace.cpp in my project, I get a linker error of:
_sAIColorSpace, referenced from
_sAIColorSpace$non_lazy_ptr in IAIColorSpace.o
symbol(s) not found
collect2: Id returned 1 exit status
There are many Google hits of "non_lazy_ptr" errors with Xcode, but nothing has helped me solve this issue. Any help would be most appreciated!
Thanks!
-- JimThe usual culprit is that sAIColorSpace needs to be defined in all the right places. Typically its EXTERN'd in both a header & a cpp, as well as included in a list of suites to load (along with the version of the suite to load). Have you added it to all three places? Usually you just find the spots where all the other suties are and cut & paste it into their number. Where that would be depends on whether you're using your own plugin setup or if you're working off one of the Adobe skeleton samples plugins.

Protocol violation Error with 17401 error code
Hi,
When we are trying to call stored procedure with below syntax we are getting "com.ibm.websphere.ce.cm.StaleConnectionException: Protocol violation" error with error code 17401 in local IRAD application and also in deployed application of WAS.
call schemaName.truncate_table('table_name', 'DROP STORAGE')
If I comment this procedure call in the Java code and execute, then next SQL staments following this call will be executed successfully. Below are some of the trails that I have already done and getting same error
1. Dowloaded latest ojdbc.jar as per Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.4.0 version
2. Kept the minimum number of connections value as ZERO in WAS admin.
Let me know if you know any solution for this
Thanks
BasavarajHi,
It takes around 10 seconds from the time I started this batch job
Below is the code, in the below code getStatement() method gets the SQLStatement object with below procedure call
call odsacct.truncate_table(?, 'DROP STORAGE')
SQLStatement sqlStmt = getStatement(CONFIG_FILE, DAOConstants.TRUNCATE_DATA_DEST);
CallableStatement callableStmt = null;
try {
callableStmt = conn.prepareCall(sqlStmt.getSql());
// set the in param
callableStmt.setString(1, insertTable);
callableStmt.executeUpdate();
catch(SQLException e) {
System.out.println("Error Code .. Basava..."+e.getErrorCode());
e.printStackTrace();
throw new Exception("Error Deleting Data in the Destination Table: ", e);
finally {
close(null, null, callableStmt);

OSB proxy secured with message level protection - No Protocol error
I have an OSB business service that calls a JAX-WS service protected by OWSM policy wss11_message_protection_service_policy. The business service is protected by the corresponding client policy. The proxy service is secured by wss11_message_protection_service_policy. Business service works fine but the proxy doesn't. It runs into this "no protocol" error below on the outbound. The system is a windows 8 64 bit PC and uses IPV6. The domain path has no spaces (I read online on an unrelated forum that spaces can cause this 'no protocol' error). This error occurs only with the message protection policy. UserName token works fine from proxy->business svc->webservice. There are no issues with the certificates because I am able to call the webservice using a jax-ws client using the certificates in keystore.
Caused By: java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol: /OSBProject/proxy/HelloS
erviceProxySvc

Protocol error 4004 with Chatter SYNCERR_FILE_NOT_OPEN using ChatterMail
I use Chatter on my Treo 700p, HotSync Manager 7.0.2, XP Home, getting the error(s) shown below. It's not the PMTRACEDB problem, I've used FileZ to change the backup attribute and that has no effect. Any experience in resolving this is welcomed.
ChatterDB: Protocol Error: Handheld file could not be opened (4004). SYNCERR_FILE_NOT_OPEN
Thanks.

Mod_jk load error with Apache on OS X
Hello -
I have been running CF9 on OS X with a MacPorts install of Apache 2.2.21 with no issues as a "standalone" server installation. To get ready for CF10 I have ben trying to get CF10 configured with Apache. The specefic error I am getting when launching Apache is:
Cannot load /Applications/ColdFusion10/config/wsconfig/1/mod_jk.so into server: dlopen( /Applications/ColdFusion10/config/wsconfig/1/mod_jk.so, 10): Symbol not found: _apr_stat$INODE64\n Referenced from: /Applications/ColdFusion10/config/wsconfig/1/mod_jk.so\n Expected in flat namespace\n /Applications/ColdFusion10/config/wsconfig/1/mod_jk.so
I have done the following:
1. Recompiled Apache and forced a 64-bit compile
2. Uninstalled CF9
3. Uninstalld and reinsalled CF10
4. apxs is installed in /opt/local/apache2/bin (listed asa requirement in one of the documentation PDFs)
5. This is a Lion 10.7.3 with Xcode 4.2.1 currently installed
The error listed above is only a warning. Apache starts and still servers html files. I am a bit stumped and have no experience with Tomcat. Any help in finding a solution to this problem will be appreciated.
Thank you
RichardMade progress -
Setting the max_packet_size seemed to start the 1st time CF10 admin process, just like it did with CF9 the 1st time we access the administrator. Then, it just went to a blank white screen.
mod_jk.log reports:
[error] ajp_process_callback::jk_ajp_common.c (1825): Unknow ajp protocol code: 0F
[error] ajp_process_callback::jk_ajp_common.c (2426): (cfusion) connecting to tomcat failed
Now: here is something interesting:
Look at the end of the URL when it 1st attempts to access administrator: It is index.cfm?configServer=true or index.cfm?serverConfig=true
By removing this it allows me to simply click on the "continue" option and low and behold the CF admin comes up.
I also have an issue with topnav.cfm reporting a 400 (Bad Request)
Quiting the browser and comming back to CF Admin displays the login page but after enter username and password I land on index.cfm and it goes no further.
Refreshing the page starts to rope in various admin componets.
Also, it will not process any simple cfm template reporting an internal server error.
Hopefully this has to do with this being a beta. -
B-channel oos and protocol error 510
Dear all,
I have some some issue couple of days ago. The telephony system of my client worked well and suddenly the cannot make external calls via E1. I checked the config and for me it seems to be ok. When I checked the SDL file, I can see the B channel out of service error message following by the
"MGCP PROTOCOL ERROR: <S1/SU1/DS1-0/[email protected]> CRCX error code: 510". They have A CUCM 6.0 and Cisco 2821 as gateway with 12.4 (25f) advance IP service IOS.
I perform the following actions without success:
-From the CUCM in the advance service I forced the Bchannel to bring it in service,
- no mgcp/mgcp, -reboot the CUCM and the Gateway,
-reset the controller throug CUCM,... in vain.
They contacted telco and has confirm that everything seems to be ok. Find below the information that can help you to undestand better

Thanks for your helpThe explanation for your syslog message is " The B-channel indicated by this alarm has gone out of service. Some of the more common reasons for a B-channel to go out of service include: Taking the channel out of service intentionally to perform maintenance on either the near- or far-end; MGCP gateway returns an error code 501 or 510 for a MGCP command sent from Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM); MGCP gateway doesn't respond to an MGCP command sent by Unified CM three times; a speed and duplex mismatch exists on the Ethernet port between Unified CM and the MGCP gateway"
Recommended action:
Check the Unified CM advanced service parameter, Change B-channel Maintenance Status to determine if the B-channel has been taken out of service intentionally; Check the Q.931 trace for PRI SERVICE message to determine whether a PSTN provider has taken the B-channel out of service; Reset the MGCP gateway; Check the speed and duplex settings on the Ethernet port. -
Fatal two-task communication protocol error (when using db link)
I have created the db link betwen two databases of oracle version 9i 9.0.2

when i access the table with same name as user then recieve following message
ORA-03106: fatal two-task communication protocol error
when i access the other tables having different name that the user to which the db link connects
that works alright
so what is solution of problem in this particular case?What is your Oracle release? Is it 9.0.1.2 or 9.2.0?

Adobe Illustrator CS5 SDK not working with Xcode on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1
I recently was interested in developing an illustrator plug-in. I downloaded all the required files listed on the adobe site, including the pdf files.
I was following the "getting started guide" while working on Xcode 4.1 when I saw that it required a "Carbon Bundle", since there wasn't one. I did my research and found out that I could download the bundle, which would only work on Xcode 3.2. However, when any of the sample files which are Carbon-based are loaded, Xcode 3.2 crashes while Xcode 4.1 notifies me with "Base SDK Missing".
I would just love to have the sample code running, and I'm pretty sure I can handle it from thereon.
Thanks in advance!I can get it to build on Lion with Xcode 4.1. The steps I went through were to first set all the "Build Settings" > Base SDK to Mac OS X 10.6 like below:
Then when I built I found it would get stuck on TwirlFilter think there is a problem with Xcode as after force quiting and restarting the computer it was able to compile successfully.
If you get any LLVM errors like error: extra qualification ... to do with AIPlatformFileDlgOpts then you just have to go to the line with the error and delete AIPlatformFileDlgOpts:: though I think that only happens if you have not done a clean before you built and there are still projects with Base SDKs set as 10.5
Let me know how you get on,
Robert -

TT12241: Backup stream protocol error
Hi there,
I get the following error when replicating TT 6.04 datastore:
$ /data/TimesTen/6.04/bin/ttRepAdmin -duplicate -from UsageCollector -host NODE_B -setMasterRepStart -delXla -localhost NODE_A UsageCollector
TT12241: Backup stream protocol error: bad log data packet length -- file "restore.c", lineno 2865, procedure "restoreLogFileNS"
Unfortunately this error, TT12241, is not described in the documentation. Oracle Support and Google searches don’t return any relevant information.
Have any one came across this problem before?
Thanks,
IgorI can't find any previous SR reports of the TT12241. No probable candidate bugs are returned either. However I have not seen the -delXla option being used before, so it may have something to do with using this option. Are you able to exclude this option from the ttRepAdmin -duplicate, and allow the bookmarks to be copied over? You could then connect to the newly created datastore and try to manually delete the bookmarks using "xladeletebookmark".

I'm currently upgrading from Weblogic 8.1 to Weblogic 9.1 on a Windows environment (Windows XP on my dev box) with an Oracle 8.1.6 database.
During the upgrade, we switched from BEA's Oracle OCI driver ( weblogic.jdbc.oci.Driver ) in Weblogic 8.1 to their Type 4 JDBC driver in Weblogic 9.1 which resulted in a "Net8 protocol error".
Does anybody know what's causing this error and how to resolve this?
Thanks

ThanksHi, yes. Our old, deprecated and now removed type-2 driver used OCI (whatever version
you have installed) to talk to Oracle. Our new drivers use the wire-level protocol for
all supported DBMS versions. Oracle 8.1.6 is extremely old. I don't think it's even
supported by Oracle anymore, is it? I think you have two options:
1 - Try using Oracle's driver, in the type-2 mode so it also uses OCI.
2 - If (1) doesn't work, you probably have to upgrade your DBMS.

------=_Part_176_29725195.1331307008851--I do have SR but hoping i can get quicker answer hereYou may always escalate the SR if you are not getting response timely. Anyways, give the reference of this thread in the SR and ask service engineer to file a bug.
I will email you the wire messageI saw the wire message you mailed across. There are some junk characters in the starting of the payload and that's why parsing is failing. Most probably it is a BOM (Byte Order Mark). Ask your TP to send messages in UTF-8 encoding without BOM or any other junk character in the starting of the message. You may open the wire message payload you mailed across in notepad or textpad and you will able to see those junk characters in the starting of the payload.
