CWGraph3d show z axis color ramp

Hello!
I use CWGraph3d. Is possible to show the color ramp (legend) for z axis data? Similar like by Intensity chart.
Thanks for an answer!

Hi Toni2,
The legend display in a CWGraph3D does not work like that in an intensity graph. It is an ActiveX object and therefore, in order to edit any properties you have to get inside the LabView properties window. Please refer to this knowledgebase article for more information regarding this. You basically have to get inside the object and alter its properties.

  • 3D Plot Color Ramp - Colors to Values

    Hi all,
The Color Ramp for 3D plots only displays 3 values; not all values for every displayed color is shown (see below).
The actual values associated with each color is available via the 3D Plot Properties dialog (during edit).
How can I access the values for these colors programmatically such that I can display them to the user?
    Thanks,
    Battler.

You're right that they don't match the values exactly. It also is completely dependent on how the values are set for your particular color ramp, especially whether or not they are evenly spaced. In your first post, you showed a picture with the colors distributed according to the default. The method I mentioned in the previous post gets pretty close to these values (really a little under each of them - has to do with how the default is distributed).
You're also right that this isn't a very good solution. It's a work around to a functionality that I don't think exists. There are probably better work around options - that's just what I came up with.
    One question please Alisha.
Are we to accept your work-around as the best answer NI can offer?
I would think a CAR is called for to ensure R&D is at the very least aware of the issue.

  • How do I add a color ramp to a numerical tank indicator?

    Hi,
I'm trying to add a color ramp to a tank indicator. I'm using Labview 2009.
Right clicking the tank, selecting properties gives me a dialog box with several tabs. On the 'scale' tab, there is a tick box 'show color ramp' and a dependable tick box 'interpolate color'.
Unfortunately, I am not able to check the boxes. I'm guessing I have to change certain settings of the tank indicator or something, but I can't seem to find the way to add the color ramp to the tank. Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance.

This is another idea that may also help. I made a tank indicatior with multi sliders giving each one a different color.

  • How can I view the color ramp in LV 8.6 sensor-mapping express vi during run-time?

    Hi All,
I've been using the sensor mapping express VI that is new in LV 8.6. When I place the express vi in my block diagram of my main vi I get the normal 'express' style configuration dialog. As a part of the configuration there is a really nice 'color-ramp' control where I can configure ranges; max; min; out -of-range colors and so on.
What I would like to do is have the color-ramp control appear as a control on my main vi's front panel. After I convert the express VI to a regular VI I can't seem to find the connection to this control. Although I have found the sub-vi that the expressvi uses in an .llb here:
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\vi.lib\express\express 3d picture\SensorConfig.llb
Can anyone point me in the right direction to do this? I get so deep into all the sub-vi's I end up getting lost-haha!
    Thanks - Paul

The characteristics of the color ramp (max, min, colors) are all part of a "colorrampstuff" cluster that is inside the Sensor Mapping express VI. In order to change those values for the express VI, you will need to create a custom express VI that provides you with inputs to this cluster. This is done similarly to creating a subVI. Then you can use a variety of methods to write to the elements in this cluster and change them while the program is running.
It may be easier to place numeric controls on the front panel that write directly to the elements in the cluster than to use a color ramp as a control.

The menu options, such as save and reconform, are not showing up in Color. They appear grey and I cannot click them. I have clicked out of my clips, what could I be missing? I am relatively new to Color.

Do you have a project open in Color? Did you "Send to" from FCP?

  • Adobe Reader 9.0 - Disable Forms Highlight color show border hover color for fields for all user a

    Hello.
I am installing Adobe Reader 9.0 onto a new windows xp corporate build for my company. We would like to have the Forms Preference "Highlight Color" Show border Hover Color for Fields checkbox unchecked by default for any user that logs onto the workstation. (All new WinXP profiles, and if possible, any existing profiles) Is there a registry entry that can be changed to ensure that this option is unchecked by default on our WinXP build?
    Thank you.

    bumping thread...
I have downloaded the Adobe Reader 9.0 Custom Wizard install creator tool, but it still appears that I will need to know what registry key to change/import into the installer for this preference to be disabled by default for all users of the workstation that Adobe Reader 9.x is installed onto.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Urgent help required: color template - use color ramp instead

    hello,
I want to match color using the color matching vi. i understand you need a color template before executing the system.
however i want to give my users the chance to choose any color from a color ramp and then this should be used an input to the color match vi (template). is this possible????
if yes how... i have put a color ramp in the front panel and then put the output to the input of the color match template but get an error: not a template...
    thanks

    Hi farhan,
Can you please send in some example code, as I can not find the VI you are talking about. The closest match I have is IMAQ Color Match and this does not have a template input.
Please can you also tell me what version of LabVIEW you are using as well.

  • Just installed mountain Lion. Viewing a pdf sent to me using preview and some colors are appearing BLACK, however when I view the same PDF in Acrobat they are perfect and what they are suppose to be. WHY would PREVIEW showing a different color?

Just installed mountain Lion. Viewing a pdf sent to me using preview and some colors are appearing BLACK, however when I view the same PDF in Acrobat they are perfect and what they are suppose to be. WHY would PREVIEW showing a different color?

Here's what I've found on the issue:
Pantone color definitions have changed (coinciding with CS6) — they are now "Pantone+" (I think that's what they're called). The "+" apparently means they're now LAB colors. Lab colors are not properly displayed in Preview (or in Finder previews) — they display as black (as far as I can tell, in all circumstances). I'm sure it's a tad more complicated than that, but that's the gist.
Now the bad news — nobody seems to know anything about a fix or workaround (unless you convert your PDFs to process — this might be a fix for sending to clients). It causes issues for me in AI files — being able to view them in the finder (with previews) is a HUGE time saver for my workflow... when they're all black, not so much.
In my chat with a director of product dev at Adobe, they placed the responsibility to fix on Apple (assuming Apple wants to support Pantone color definitions in their OS).

  • How to change colors in Color Ramps

    Hello,
I would like to use Color Ramps, and I need to change colors. In help documents, it say that I juste have to right click in the icon and change what I want. But I tried all option and I can't do anything I want.
    Can you help me ??
    Thanks
    David

Seems that I'm not the only one to have problems with color ramps...
Nearly everything was explained in the on-line help. Nearly...
"Complete the following steps to change the colors of a color ramp.
    1. Right-click the color ramp or a marker and select Marker Spacing»Arbitrary from the shortcut menu to switch the color ramp to arbitrary marker spacing.
    2. Use the Operating or Positioning tools to right-click the marker next to the color ramp and select Marker Color from the shortcut menu to change the color associated with a marker.
    3. Select the color you want from the color picker that appears."
    Additionnal hints :
After switching to arbitrary marker spacing, suppress all intermediate markers (right click> Delete). Then adjust the colors of th
e two remaining end markers. With some ramps, you will be obliged to move slighty the marker position to get a color update.
If you need to insert intermediate colors, add intermediate markers (right click > Add). Using the text tool, type in the exact value associated with the marker. Select the color you want to associate with the marker.
When finished, switch back to uniform marker spacing.
    Have fun...

  • Acrobat Preview mode doesn't show PMS spot colors

Out of the blue, the preview mode in Acrobat 9 is showing PMS spot colors as black, CMYK colors show up fine. The actual pdf itself is fine. This happens when I make pdfs "High Quality" or "Press Quality" from Indesign 6. Curiously, it does not happen when I make a "Smallest File". However when I attach these pdfs to email, the spot colors appear black.
I've been using 9 for a long time and I've been using Indesign 6 for a few months now. I'm on a Mac Pro, OSX 10.6.8. I can't figure out if there is something that was unchecked or checked that is causing this problem to come up seemingly out of nowhere.
    Any advice is much appreciated,
    Thanks!

It was correct for Adobe to use the Lab alternate color space for display of Pantone spot colors. Why? Two reasons:
    (1)     InDesign and Illustrator are now consistent with Photoshop's behaviour with non-process color channels. This interoperability issue has been complained about for years.
    (2)     When one referred to the CMYK alternate color space values of Pantone colors, the question naturally comes up as to which CMYK color space those deviceCMYK values represent. Are those values for SWOP or Gracol or what? According to what Pantone told me personally years ago, they were SWOP, but not so-labelled. Thus, unless your output CMYK color space is SWOP, use of those CMYK colors is simply wrong!!! Using Lab alternate colors will allow whatever renders those spot colors in either RGB or CMYK to properly render them in the actual final color space!
Unfortunately, there is nothing that Adobe can do to cause Apple's preview product to properly display these colors. By the way, this problem also afflicts the built-in PDF viewer in the iOS products as well as MacOS X. Fortunately, under MacOS, you can easily download and install the free Adobe Reader and have it do all the PDF display in lieu of Apple's preview. Although we do have Adobe Reader available for iOS, Apple does not let us replace preview in iOS for PDF preview. You must view in preview and send the file to Adobe Reader.
Of course, if enough Apple users complained to Apple management about the numerous anomalies of its preview program, maybe after all these years, they might actually fix it to properly handle Lab colors (as well as transparency).

  • Why are photoshop icons showing up as color bars in AE6 even though the files are not missing?

I have imported the file numerous times, they actually show up in After Effects. If I render it renders fine, however the icons next to the photoshop files show up as color bars.
Can anyone hep me figure this out?

Thanks for replying...  Yes everything works fine but the project panel icons and layer icons appear as color bars.  Weird! I'm using CS6 and I'm on a MAC PRO OS X 10.8.5.  I attached a screen grab

  • How Do I Convert at Palette Into a Color Ramp?

    Hello,
Is there a way to convert the 5-color palettes created by Kuler into a continuous color ramp?
    Thanks,
    Doug
    Twitter: @dugla

    Hi Douglass,
Currently Kuler supports only upto five colors in a color theme. But you can create as many color themes as you desire and download them to products like Adobe Illustrator where they can be added to one conitnuous color library via the swatches panel and exported. To do that you'll need to add them to swatches via the kuler panel or by downloading and importing .ase files. Then within the swatches panel, you can select and drag colors from multiple groups into a single group and export them via the fly-out menu as a continuous color ramp.

  • Color picker show only gamut colors

    hello all,
in photshop, you can go to View -> Show Gamut Warning and then in the color picker the colors out of gamut will be greyed out.
is there any similar setting in illustrator too?
    thanks for answers.

Illustrator is a little different the color picker show the out of gamit warning however if I am corret since illustrator a little different and you really canot select an out of gamit color since it will converted to the cmyk environment for instance or the rgb environment you are creating your document, which is probably the reason that some colors coming from Photoshop do nt always match 100%.
For instance placing a rgb photo in Illustrator converts it to rgb slecting a color out of gamit will also give a cmyk value to it in the picker it is the cmyk value that will be used and there for will not be out of gamit turning on overprint preview will show what the color really looks like if you have a properly calibrated monitor.
The color you are  seecing might be out of gamit but what you have in Illustrator will print properly no matter how close it appears on the screen.
    Let me Illuustrate this
The color picker, notice the cmyk values and the out of gamit warning
The color panel shows it as cmyk values and as long as it is translated as percentages of cmyk inks then it is not out of gamit.
So the issue is mute in Illustrator

  • Assigning curves to axis (and setting axis color) in report

I'm creating a script that will generate a report.
As a template for this report i have a tdr file with one 2D axis system.
The channels to be displayed are stored in an global array, it can be any number of channels (hypothetically).
Now for each channel I want to:
    Create a new curve.
Create a new y-axis (except for the first, cause there is already one present)
Assign the y-axis to the corresponding curve
Assign the y-axis color to be the same as the corresponding curve.
Creating several curves workes fine (and displaying them).
Creating several y-axis workes fine as well.
However, the last two operations are not as straightforward. Should the y-axis be assigned to the curve or the other way around (basicly, how is this done)?
Setting the y-axis color sounds easy enough, from the help file:
"D2AxisYLineColor: Specifies the color of the selected y-axis."
However, when i use this command it doesn't change anything. Example:
    Call GraphObjOpen("2DAxis1")
    Call GraphObjOpen(D2AxisYObj(1))
    D2AxisYTxtColor ="red"
    D2AxisYLineColor = "red"
    Call GraphObjClose(D2AxisYObj(1))
    Call GraphObjClose("2DAxis1")
This code WILL change the label text color (as expected), the line color (which i believe is supposed to be the color of the axis itself) remains unchanged. What am i missing here?

    Hi Salte
    You missed only one line
    Call GraphObjOpen("2DAxis1")
    D2AXISINDIVIDCOL = 1
    Call GraphObjOpen(D2AxisYObj(1))
    D2AxisYTxtColor ="red"
    D2AxisYLineColor = "blue"
    Call GraphObjClose(D2AxisYObj(1))
    Call GraphObjClose("2DAxis1")
Press CTRL-A when you open the definition dialog to get all parameters.
    Hope this helps
