    Hi,
I am trying to install CWLMS 3.2 on Server 2008 SP2 - I have installed succesfully but when i try and login it asks for username and password which i fill out correctly and then just hangs and does nothing, it seems to be an issue with port 443 or redirection.
    Please help

  • Active/Standby Configuration in CWLMS

    Hi,
I have 2 LMS Server's in my LAN. I want 1 server will be Master & the other will be in Standby mode.
Whether, such type of configuration is possible in CWLMS??
I am using CWLMS version: 3.1
    Rgds,
    Partha

I don't think that LMS has a feature for HA installation.
You will find that in the document
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6504/ps6528/ps2425/ps7196/prod_white_paper0900aecd80695cad.pdf
on page 20 in chapter "7.1 Redundant-Server Scenario".
But there is an solution with two identical servers, one as master and the other as slave.
Details you will find in the document.

  • CWLMS-4.0 vSphere Client 5.0.0

    Good morning
I have a problem with my CWLMS-4.0 in combination with the vSphere Client 5.0.0.
In the overview a server is shown as Windows 2008 Server but it is a Red Hat Linux.
This issue produced some problems.... How is it possible to change it to Red Hat Linux?
    Many greets
    Mike

    Hello Vinod
The difference is Cisco Prime LMS. As you can see in the screen the device is shown as Windows 2008 Server. In Cisco Prime Infrastructure it is correct implemented as Red Hat Linux.
Its also the current Version of LMS running with 4.2.5
Attached you will find the screens of the effected device.
    Thanks in advance

  • CWLMS DFM root cause functionality.

According to the CWLMS Deployment Guide 3.0:
"Device Fault Manager provides the ability to monitor device faults in real-time and determine the root cause by correlating device-level fault conditions."
Can anyone explain in a little more detail exactly how this works, and how the "root cause" event and it's "symptom events" are displayed in the DFM?
Does it use the same "Codebook Correlation Technology" that is used in EMC Smarts?

    just a comment...
DFM ... it has its own story .....
DFM 1.2 was really good (at least compared to DFM 2.0+). It has had a GUI where you did see correlated alarms in different colors on a split window  and a good classification of the alarm. DFM 2.0+ is an awful castrated version of the original. If you look at the code DFM has its own mechanism to discover the network to know the topology. It does not need any other application to know this - but it is not used in LMS. It has mechanisms to correlate events - but they are not implemented.
I would like to know who made the decission to code something like this (and I would realy like to discuss it...)
    1) try to reach EVERY IP address a device has with ICMP (BY DEFAULT !!)
and need a couple of time to implement a script to remove this again
    2) REMOVE the feature to start a script based on an event, - just allow email and trap-forwarding
[if anbody was successfull in registering the script notifier again it would be great to share this information...]
    3) show up these very special alarmIDs in the GUI and provide them on the device center GUI (Device Alert Identifier) without making it a link to the "Alerts and Activities Detail" Page
    4) do not provide the posibility to add a specific trap as a customized event
    5) do not show detailed information in "Detailed Device View" if a device is in an unknown state - this could be interesting for troubleshooting..
... and there are a few more ...

  • Issues with CWLMS 3.2 RME 4.3.1 cannot fetch vlan.dat off a VSS and 4510.

    Hi,
I am having a major headache with RME collecting the vlan.dat from a VSS and 4510, the device and credentials work fine, however when archiving the config i get partial success due to vlan failing. You can see in the IC_Services log that it attempts to TFTP the .dat file off which it fails with, i believe vlan fetch is only supported by SSH or telnet
when you do a CDA test both devices pass on everything..

managed to log on and please see below, tftp on one device works fine but from the 4510 or vss still fails

  • Inventory management problem with WS-C2950-24 on CWLMS 4.0

    Hi Joe,
I have a problem with inventory management wiht 2950- 24 switches on which I am not able to capture inventory as well as the configurations. The IOS version is 121-22.EA13 and featureset is i6k2l2q4-mz. However, when I troubleshoot it, all the transport protocols (Telnet, ssh, tftp etc) shows success.
    Thanks,
    Best Regards // Rajiv

Inventory uses snmp to communicate to device. Please check you device has snmp configured and LMS has correct SNMP RO credentials added to it.
Please try to do a manual snmpwalk from LMS server (using device centre > tools) and see the walk succeeds.
Then again try to run the inventory from LMS server on this perticular device and if it fails, share the failure result/screenshot etc details. NMSROOT/log/ic_server.log as well.

  • CWLMS 3.1 : CiscoView of Cisco 7606-S Router

    Hi Friend,
I am facing some issue with CiscoView of 7606-S router.
Please find the attachment for more details.
In figure, The RED Marked LAN port appears GREEN when viewed through CiscoWorks but physically on Cisco 7606-S router, no such port exists at all.
Also besides this, we have 3 fiber ports and 2 RJ-45 port on Cisco router visible through CiscoView, but physically on Cisco router 2 Fiber and 2 RJ-45 port are present.
first fiber port is up and connected whereas when seen through CiscoWorks, it shows 3rd fiber port as green.

you can not display your 7600 in ciscoview, the most probably reason is that a device package is needed to do this. do the following:
    1. Download the device package from the link (Cat6000IOS.cv50.v29-1.zip, Cat6000IOS.cv50.v29-1.readme)
    http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/apps/vwplan/cvresult.cgi?product_class=Routers&product=Internet+Router+7600+IOS&application=All+Versions
    2. Go to Common Services > Software Center > Device Update, then select CiscoView > click on 'Check for updates' > select 'Enter Server Path' and enter the path where you downloaded the files > continue the instructions to
    install it.
This will probably need to restart ciscoworks to apply the changes.

  • I have ordered CWLMS 2.2 for the customer, I want to ask a question.

I have ordered LMS 2.2 which support only Windows 2000 Server, but the customer want to install LMS on Windows 2003, then I install LMS 2.5 evaluation and I order the Minor upgrade ver sion from 2.x to version 2.5 ... I fear that I have to install LMS 2.2 on Windows 2000 Server only and just upgrade to LMS 2.5 and I cannot use LMS upgrade license to verify LMS 2.5

If you have both sets of CDs, then you may simply install LMS 2.5 and then when that is done perform the validation (using the older version).
In other words, you don't need to install LMS 2.2 first.

  • TACACS+ login CWLMS Prime 4.1

    Good day,
I changed a setting on my LMS server to use TACACS+ however i did not slect the option that local users can login to the server
Is there a way that i can change it back to this?
When i try logging into my LMS server it denies the access.
Attached please find screen grab of TACACS+
The software is installed on a virtaul machine running Linux
    Thanks
    Jaques

you can run the perl script ResetLoginModule.pl as discribed here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/4.1/install/guide/dmg.html#wp1189216,
(if the screenshot you provided is not just an example you should be able to login as user "admin" at least when disabling the connection to your TACACS server)

  • CWLMS 4.0.1 & etherchannels

    Hello!
I have Cisco LMS 4.0.1. After adding devices to DCR, I open Topology services-Layer 2 View and realised that I can't see etherchannels at all. In my network all links between switches are etherchannels, but on the network graph I see only one link between 2 switches instead 2 links at least. If I do righ-click on my 3750 switch and select Port attributes I see that isChannel and isTrunk values is false, but as I said all links between switches are etherchannels and trunks. Do you have any ideas what to do?

I restarted the server again and the same error happened. I checked DCRServer process and it was in the state "Failed to run" with processRC -14. I started it manually -it took very long time to start- and ran the discovery again but still the same error "Error in communicating with DCR Server. DCR Server may be down. Please start the DCR Server and then start discovery."!!!!
    Attached the DCRServer log file.

  • Some Devices are not showing up at all in the Discovery reports

    Hi all,
The first time I ran the CS device discovery I got 50 reachable devices. I scheduled the Device Discovery to be run every week. I added more subnets to the discovery but unfortunately the last discovery shows only 31 devices from the first discovered devices (50). I checked the DCR and there is only 44 devices out of the 50!
    My question is:
Should not the scheduled Device Discovery discovers all devices -the previously discovered ones and the new ones-?
Why the rest of the devices are not showing up at all in the discovery reports (neither reachable nor unreachable) although all of them are pingable and responding to the snmpwalk tool from the CWLMS server.
Your kindly respond is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I ran the discovery again with the same settings after enabling debugging and I checked the following log files:
    1. in the ngdiscovery.log I found a lot of errors all about Duplicate IpAddress example:
    ERROR  [DeviceManager : EvalTask-DiscoveryThreadPool-06 addNewDevice]  : Duplicate IpAddress (127.0.0.51) found in addNewDevice().Device 1 ip = 10.8.113.29 , id1 = 127.0.0.51*F1COR.xyz.com*.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.283, Device 2 ip = 10.8.113.106 , id2 = 127.0.0.51*LCD.xyz.com*.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.283

    2. in the CSDiscovery.log:
Error while changing the permission of the file C:\PROGRA~1\CSCOpx\objects\csdiscovery\1348\DiscoveryStatusObj
I checked the file and the casusers has a Modify permission
    My Question is:
    1. what is the meaning of those output exactly?
    2. If CWLMS found duplicatedd IP address how it works in terms of (ignoring, updating existing devices, Adding the new devices, ... etc)
    Many thanks for your help.

  • Problem restoring LMS 2.6 data to LMS 4.0

    Hello,
I'm trying to migrate from LMS 2.6 on a Windows 2003 server to LMS 4.0 on Windows 2008 R2.
Two things I'll note here which might help future people attempting to use the LMS 4.0 backup/restore scripts as detailed in the migration document:
    1) Make sure nobody has installed cygwin on the server before you run the backup scripts. If they have, remove it and the reg keys.
    2) On the target server make sure to run the restore script CMD session using runas or disable UAC on Windows 2008 or the restore scripts will fail
My next problem I can't get past. I've been running the restore since yesterday morning and it still hasn't finished. It hasn't moved from 40% complete migrating the IPM data but in the last 24 hours it has eaten up 6Gb more RAM.

    40% of IPM migration completed

Should I just wait? Is this something that might take days if I've got a lot of IPM data or is it broken? I don't really care about keeping IPM data so could I do something to complete the data migration for everything else? Any advice appreciated.
    regards,
    Aaron

The restore can take a long time if you have a lot of data.  The problem is the database needs to be completely unloaded and reloaded to convert from ASA 9 to ASA 10.  However, if you do not care about IPM data, and you still have LMS 2.6 running, you can take a new LMS backup not using the wrapper.pl script (this will keep IPM from being backed up).

Have anybody idea how can I compile my .swf? Thanks.

    Hi Joseph,
I'm having the same problem with CWLMS 4.0.1. But I didn't find this file heap.properties in the
    /opt/CSCOpx/MDc/tomcat/webapps/rme/WEB-INF/classes/com/cisco/nm/rmeng/cli/framework/
Do you know where I customize this parameter in that version?
