Cwm won't read configuration files
i built cwm from source and it won't seem to accept configuration. either from ~/.cwmrc or -c /path/file.
i've tried various different .cwmrc's, from full configs to just one bind, but it won't seem to take it.
any tips from cwm users on what i might be doing wrong? google hasn't yielded any answers.
Did you build cwm or cwm-git? The plain cwm in the AUR won't read .cwmrc; you need to use cwm-git. If you did not buld from the AUR, where did you get the source?

Last week when the automated upgrade came I said yes and then stopped it midway as it was not a good time to reboot my laptop. Since then, when I try to open it says cannot read configuration file - even when I uninstall and reinstall - still cannot open it with the same error.
Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -
Error reading configuration file
I've setup the Adobe Access 4.0 trial license server and when I run the Validator.bat with -g -r on the Tomcat install dir \licenseserver I get an 'Error reading configuration file' message. Here is the log dump:

I'm using a relative path to my .pfx file for both the transportServerCredential and licenseServerCredential in the flashaccess-tenant.xml and my password has been scrambled using the Scrambler.bat.
Also, when I verify setup using http://<LicenseServer>:8080/flashaccessserver/flashaccess/license/v2 I get the message 'License server is setup correctly.'
Any ideas of why the Validator.bat can't read the configuration file?I agree with you that if I can successfully playback content the license serve is setup successfully. Here is what I've tried and how I've set things up:
I have my license server setup (its the Protected Streaming version).
I'm using Adobe Media Server as my content/packaging server. I successfully served Vanilla PHLS sample streams to the sample Adobe Access player on iOS devices.
I have configured the Adobe Media Server to point to the license server and certificates as per the documenation and this Adobe Dev article (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/adobe-media-server/articles/content-protection-using-phds-phls .html). Since I am using a trial version of Adobe Access my .der files are the same for transport and packaging.
I am using the local key mode to remove one more variable (I have setup a remote key server as well).
I have placed a copy of the 'vod-policy.pol' policy file from the reference license server resources directory in my Adobe Media Server 'creds' directory and used the relative path '..creds/vod-policy.pol' in the httpd.conf file.
When I attempt to load the sample stream http://<mymediaserver>/hls-vod/sample2_1000kbps.f4v.m3u8 using the Adobe Access sample player on my iOS device I receive the following errors in the player:
DRM error Major[3363] minor:[0] NSError:(null)]
From my knowledge of working with the Adobe Access Objective C library to create a PhoneGap plugin it appears that a decrypted playlist is not being returned by the Adobe Media Server. Additionally, I can find no information in the Adobe Media Server or Adobe Access logs that pertain to my setup.
I would love to have someone from Adobe speak to the problems I am having. I find the documentation to be hit and miss and most of my successful results during this proofing process have been from piecing together disparate pieces of information and trial and error. Information on using the Adobe Media Server with Adobe Access is limited to one Devnet article (above) and the help in Adobe Media Server that doesn't explain pathing to the license server or Java policy files in any detail.

DNG Converter suddenly stopped working, won't read NEF files
Hi all, I'm new here, but am looking for some help.
I currently am on a mac book and run photoshop CS3. I've been shooting with a nikon d700 in raw. When I upload the photos to my computer I've previously run them through the DNG converter without a problem. Now, for the past two days it has just stopped working. When I try to convert the NEF files, they are just greyed out, I can't select anything. I tried reinstalling the DNG converter, but still no luck.
I never had any issues with it before, and now it suddenly won't read my files. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Had you run the DNG on a Mac before? On the Mac, the DNG Converter works on folders only, not on individual files (unless you use the Finder to drop the icons of your raw files on the DNG Converter application icon). From within the application, using File > Open, the icon and names of individual raw files will always appear grayed out.
You need to target the folder that contains the files you want to convert.
CAVEAT: all eligible files in the folder will be converted, including any and all DNG files that may already be contained in the folder. So if you have any DNGs in that folder, they will also be converted again and the original DNGs may be overwritten.

The EOS M requires at least Camera Raw 7.2 but Raw 7.2 is only compatible with CS6 or higher (CS5 is only compatible up to Raw 6.7)

To open and edit Raw files, either upgrade to CS6 or join the Cloud and get the CC version.
Alternatively convert the Raw files from the EOS M to DNGs using the free DNG converter then edit the DNGs in CS5.1

Lightroom v2 won't read RAW files from Sony A77
Hi there - just got a new Sony A77 but Lightroom v2 won't read RAW files when I try to import them. I know I need to upgrade my version of LR (I will be going to v4) but... is there ANYTHING else I need to do or to upgrade in order to ensure Lightroom 4 will read those Sony RAW files? Thanks!
I don't keep track of what cameras are supported in what versions. But, IF your camera is supported by the latest DNG converter, you could use it to create digital negative copies of your images. Those DNG files can then be opened in the version that you have now. You won't get anywhere near the development quality that you will get with Lightroom 4, but at least you can work on your images with what you have now.
And if Lightroom 4 supports your camera, that is the only thing you can do to "ensure" that you can use your files. Of course, if you modify them now with the version that you have, you can leave them with those adjustments when you upgrade to Lightroom 4, but if you want to use the new adjustments and the improved develop tools you'll probably have to basically start over on any images that you want to convert to the new PV 2012. -
Palm Desktop 6.2 won't read data file after IR synch with IIIC
I have Windows 7, an old IIIC, and Palm Desktop 6.2. Since I can use a USB with that combination, I synced with an infrared connection. The files made it to the Palm directory, but the desktop program won't read them. My previous version of Palm Desktop allowed me to search for the data directory, but I can't find a way to do so with 6.2. And, no, the older version wouldn't display the data, either, in spite of my specifying the path.
I'm so close! One more step and I won't have to buy a smart phone and pay a monthly fee to carry around my contact date. Please help.Palm Desktop 6.2.2 is not an upgrade to 4.x! It was designed to fix the things Microsoft broke when Vista was born.
It lacks many features that existed for many years in the 4.x versions.
I'd suggest doing a Clean Uninstall and reinstall your original version!

Compiler won't read modified files
Does anyone know why Flash would suddenly stop loading
recently saved class files?
Until now, I've been able to make changes to an Actionscript
file, save the file, and then test the SWF to see the changes.
Now it seems as though the modified files are not getting
read by the compiler. To see the changes, I need to restart Flash
(even then, there's no guarantee).
My guess is that I've inadvertantly changed a setting
somewhere.

Apple can't fix the problem and Adobe no longer supports PS4... put another way, Apple can't do anythig but they care, and Adobe could do everything but they don't care
It got worse when I upgraded to Mavericks, so to get around that I had to upgrade to Photoshop CC and pay the monthly "rental"
Aperture and Photoshop now work, but the demands of running them both are beyond my aging iMac that can't be upgraded, so I have to buy a new one, but the monthly fee (which everybody assumes will only go up in cost) + purchase of a new iMac for a guy on a fixed income are too much
So, I thought if I used DNG to convert the ORF files I could import them into Aperture for all the basics and organization, then use PS4 for the compositing... but Aperture won't read the DNG conversions.

I have an application that I am testing in Webstart. There are about 9 configuration files that are part of the application that need to be loaded. Because of the way the application is currenlty setup, I cannot put the config files into the main jar file. I must leave them in the directory structure (com.xxxxx.yyyyy.client.config)
The problem is when Webstart tries to start the application, I get a bunch of Unknown Source Errors as if the app cannot see the config files. I have added them to the jnlp script with the arguement tag but I still get the error.
Is there any way to have the jnlp file create a directory in the Webstart Cache folder, copy in these config files and have Webstart see them so the app will run.
I think this is happening due to the FileInputStreamSource designation as opposed to the JarInputStreamSource designator but I may be wrong.
Any help would be appreciated.

Esx24 sampler won't read my files or aliases..
the esx24 won't read audio alisases from my sampler instrument folder. it doesn't matter whether the original file is saved on my desktop or and external drive. tech support seems to think it's a logic configuraton problem. can anyone help?

UTL_FILE.get_line won't read large files ?
I am trying to read a large fixed length flat file. If I cut the file down to really small it will read it but it reads it as a single line. If I try to read a larger file > 32k I get a READ_ERROR. I am pretty sure it has to do with the end of line marker but I saw nothing about that in the UTL_FILE documentation. This is on UNIX, new line character after each record in the file. Standard unix flat file.
Any ideas on what to do?

nullWe are still hung up on this. I tried implementing the code from STEVE'S XML book but still haven't resovled it.
The clob is being created via XSU see below. The new char[8192] appeasr to force the output file to 8K
with trailing characters on small clobs but adds a carraige return each 8K on larger ones.
As usual any input is appreciated from all. Doese anyone know of a good JAVA forum like this one?

Acrobat Reader won't read pdfs: "file path not valid"
I thought that my PlayBook would be the perfect device to read pdfs in the Adobe Reader. The only problem is when I download a pdf from the internet, or copy a pdf from my computer, and click on the file icon from within the Reader, all I get is a cryptic error message that reads "The file path is not valid". No hints at what to do.
At first I thought it was a problem with the file. But every file suffers from the same ill fate. Do you have any suggestions?Article ID: KB26744

Overview
When attempting to open locally saved or attached Adobe® PDF document the following error is returned:
The file path is not valid
Environment
BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet
Cause
The error is returned due to application permissions to of the Adobe® Reader application on the BlackBerry® Playbook™. The 'files' option within Adobe Reader application is set to 'Denied'.
Resolution
Edit the application permissions file access rights for the Adobe Reader application.
1. On BlackBerry Playbook open Options
2. Select Security -> Application Permissions
3. Select Adobe Reader application
4. Edit file permissions setting to allow the application to access files stored on BlackBerry PlayBook
5. Save settings by selecting Back button after making changes

Time Machine Won't read new files
Today I purchased a bigger a hard drive. I put it in and everything was good. When I tried to restore my system through time machine (which was from a external hard drive) it only read backup files from July 29 to July 21.
Why can't I open the last saved backup and restore it, which was yesterday 8/07/2013. I moved a lot of files and deleted stuff since 07/29 and I want that system, not the 7/29/2013 backup.
Any ideas what I need to do? What is the point of time machine if I can't restore my last system settings?
Thanks for reading.Most likely, some folders were inadvertently excluded from your backups, and as a result you can't restore your data in Recovery, Setup Assistant, or Migration Assistant.
Starting from a fresh installation of OS X, set up a new administrator account and log in. Follow the instructions on this page to associate your existing backups with the new installation.
You should now be able to enter Time Machine and restore your user data from a snapshot.* I suggest you do this in two stages. Quit all applications except the Finder before you begin.
Restore all the visible items at the top level of your home folder.
Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar. Enter Time Machine and restore all items in the Library folder. Log out and log back in as soon as the restore is complete.
Any other invisible folders or files at the top level of your home folder that you want to preserve will have to be restored separately. For most users, that isn't necessary.
You'll have to reinstall all third-party applications from scratch, or restore them from another kind of backup, if you have one.
*If you don't see any snapshots in Time Machine, exit the time-travel view and then hold down the option key while selecting
