CWMS End-User Client Software Compatibility
I've been searching for a document that shows TAC supported end user client software options for CWMS.
Does one exist - possible matrix that shows features/functionality?
Minus the client software (presumably WebEx Meetings application) which is downloaded and automatically installed the first time the user joins a meeting and Jabber for Windows v9.1.2 or later.
Thanks in advance
Hello Dustin,
Sorry for a slow response here. Have you looked into this?

Is this SW compatible with the new iMac? I'm trying to install a Secure Client SW but it stops in the middle of installation giving out only a general message - there were errors during the installation. Please help.
Thanks.The CheckPoint VPN-1 Secure Client software is only compatible with Mac OS v 10.3 (Panther). I had the same issue and am waiting for CheckPoint to update the software.

After changing a mail list name in Server end, users can't see the update in outlook client
Dear all,
This is a real issue. I am a Help-desk in a global company and after changing a mail list name in Server end, users can't see the update in outlook client. Even I download Offline address book in full detail, user still can't see the change in her outlook.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks,
Franklin hongHi,
Would you please detail what you did by "changing a mail list name in Server end"? What is the mail list and what server?
If you switch to Online Mode instead of Cached Exchange Mode, does the user see the change?

CUEAC client login not showing end users in directory
I have done the all configuration for CUEAC with cucm 8.6 but when going to login in CUEAC it is not showing any end user that is already having in CUCM portal.
Please tell me what could be the issue?
I am using the manually end user not with any LDAP system in the CUCM...
thanksDid you enable the synchronization of directory on CUEAC server? Have you tried re-starting the LDAP-plugin as well (name is misleading as it does not necessarily require LDAP integration)?

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.7.4 The system seems to be very very slow, reminds me of a really poor windows machine. Not sure what has changed other than the new OS. I get pinwheels all the time and its slow switching between apps, etc etc etc. I do tend to run some Office for Mac software because my co-workers are on PC's. This seems to have been the pattern since I "upgraded" to 10.7.4... any suggestions???
Boot up holding down Control+r and open DiskUtility and check and repair you HDD for a start.
Then try making a new user account and booting in that and see if the problem persists.

Hi All,
I am new to this Forum. We are experiencing lot of problems everyday. I am an End User. Dont know i am at right place or not.
We are using Unity Software by J.D.Edward.
Can you please explain me the Daily Sales Order Report process for end user side?Hi,
Did you automatically create BPs using DSWP.
To be able to identify the key user in all systems that are connected to the SAP Solution Manager, you need to supply the following ID numbers (in the role, tab) in Transaction BP.
CRM001 <System ID> <Installation Number> <Client> <User Name> (separated by a space, for example, XYZ 1234567890 800 DEMOUSER).
Hope this will solve your problem.
Feel free to revert back.

On client computers that are protected by DPM 2010 and prior versions, you had to put the end users account in the local administrators group. If you did not add the end user account to the local administrators group you would get this error after opening
the recovery tab in the DPM client: “DPM found no recovery points which you are authorized to restore on the specified DPM server. You can restore only those recovery points for which you were an administrator at the time the
backup was taken. To restore other recovery points, contact your DPM administrator, or attempt to restore from another DPM.” This is not ideal on many networks because the end users are not allowed to have local administrator access.
Ths fix to this was included in hotfix 2465832 found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2465832.
This hotfix (a hotfix rollup package for DPM 2010) resolves other issues with DPM 2010 as well. You can find the full list of what this hotfix corrects on that link.
One would think this issue should have been resolved in DPM 2012, however I am encountering the same exact issue, had to include end-users into the workstation local admin group before they can search for recovery points on the DPM server. This is not acceptable
practice.
Is there a new hotfix for the same issue on DPM 2012? I am hesitated to apply KB2465832 since it also includes many other fixes for DPM 2010, which may not appicable for version 2012.
Please help.
Thanks,This is a hands off solution to allow all users that use a machine to be able to restore their own files.
1) Make these two cmd files and save them in c:\temp
2) Using windows scheduler – schedule addperms.cmd to run daily – any new users that log onto the machine will automatically be able to restore their own files.
<addperms.cmd>
Cmd.exe /v /c c:\temp\addreg.cmd
<addreg.cmd>
set users=
echo Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00>c:\temp\perms.reg
echo [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\Agent\ClientProtection]>>c:\temp\perms.reg
FOR /F "Tokens=*" %%n IN ('dir c:\users\*. /b') do set users=!users!%Userdomain%\\%%n,
echo "ClientOwners"=^"%users%%Userdomain%\\bogususer^">>c:\temp\perms.reg
REG IMPORT c:\temp\perms.reg
Del c:\temp\perms.reg

That's a good one! Thanks for that.
I've been scripting on KIX for some time, so here is mine, hope it helps to someone... (it's probably not the best, but it works)
========================================================================
$RC=setoption("WOW64AlternateRegView","on")
$DPMkey = "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\Agent\ClientProtection"
$uservariable = "%userdomain%\%username%"
If KeyExist ($DPMkey)
$Userstring=ReadValue($DPMkey, "ClientOwners")
If $Userstring == ""
WriteValue($DPMkey,"ClientOwners", $uservariable, "REG_MULTI_SZ")
? "Key created"
else
If not instr($Userstring,$uservariable)
$Userstring = "$Userstring,$uservariable"
WriteValue($DPMkey,"ClientOwners", $Userstring, "REG_MULTI_SZ")
EndIf
Endif
EndIf
==========================================================================
The problem actually is that you still need to use an admin account to write on the registry, so ensure you configure it properly on the schedule task.
In case you use a service account on the schedule task... the "$uservariable" will get populated with that account. As a work around to this... I changed it for the following line:
=========================================================
$uservariable = ReadValue("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI", "LastLoggedOnSAMUser")
=========================================================
The only problem with that, is that key gets created/updated only if user gets logged phisically on that PC, but will not work for anyone connecting through RDP. -
A challenge: High-design spreads that are editable by end-users
Dear Adobe gurus,
Can anyone suggest a solution to the following challenge:
We want to create high-design spreads in InDesign, the majority of which should not be editable by end-users (i.e. sales people), but in which they could add specific data points like client name, address, date etc.
Our design team has Adobe CS5 Master Collection, but the sales people do not, so we would need whatever output from InDesign to be editable, likely pdf.
Any suggestions from simple (I'm guessing fields like in a form - although these would be in laid-out text and would need to be of variable length and not visible as fields in the final output) to complex (perhaps something similar to edit/replace or merge codes, or some use of XML?)
Would be very grateful for any insights.
Thanks,
Brian Bozic
Messaging ManagerAs you mention "variable length" fields, you will need InDesign or one of its sister programs to take care of the text reflow, deleting optional pages, adding table rows and so forth.
With a low volume and not too fast response time requirements you could of course also stick with manually handled InDesign, eventually supported by scripts.
One alternative is the mentioned InCopy, but that would mean additional software on the end-user systems.
Btw, you would not need to match the version of your InDesign CS5, later versions can also open templates created with CS5.
Another way would be an online solution utilizing InDesign Server. The end users submit the variables via a web form and receive a ready PDF.
Whether you implement that workflow yourself of course depends on your programming skills, the expected number of requests, your privacy requirements and the depth of your pocket - InDesign Server licenses have a noticable price tag.
Eventually you can also utilize SaaS Services, for example I've seen Harbs mention his printui.com.

System requirement for Adobe Interactive forms as end user
Hi All,
Can any one guide me the minimum system requirement at client PC so that they can use
Adobe interactive forms. i.e. what should be the lowest Adobe reader version and any other
software needed to use interactive form as end user?
I am developer So I am having latest Adobe version & SAP software's.
So forms are working fine on my PC.
ThxHi Rohan,
SAP Interactive forms requires Adobe Reader 7.0.9 or above for it to display/work correctly which is also clearly mentioned in SAP Note 834573 (for your reference).
Also, in case you are using the displayType property of the Interactive form as Activex then you may need to install ACF (Active Component Framework ) also on the client's machine in order to preview the form correctly. You should use the property as native which is available in latest versions.
Also, Please make sure that the settings in adobe reader as: Open Adobe Reader->Edit->Preferences->Internet->Display PDF in Broeser option is checked, in case you are diplaying your form in browser.
It seems, if you check the above things your PDF should work properly on client's environment as well.
Hope it helps

Hello,
What software must be installed in Sun Ray Clients?
No software is needed?
Thanks.There is no Software installed in the client
The Client loads a Firmware via TFTP . The End User does not
interact with this Firmware. The firmware fills the same function as
the BIOS does on a PC. But there is normally no user configuration possible.
The only possible situation where a user can configure the firmware is when the Sun ray is used remotely over the internet with VPN, Then a special version of the firmware is used and the enduser has to configure the VPN parameters , since he is nolonger connected to the INTRA-net DHCP service.
All SOFTWARE for the Sun Ray solution is loaded on the Server.

Jabber for Mac - End User unable to Cut & Paste Images in IM
Full discloure: I am an END USER, not an IT admin or anything like that. Not sure if this is the proper forum to ask this question but figured it was worth a shot...
Running OSX 10.9.1 and Jabber 9.2.1.
I am unable to copy-and-paste images into IM conversations with co-workers.
My "cachedPresenceConfigStore.xml" file shows:
"<im_cutandpaste_enabled>TRUE</im_cutandpaste_enabled>"
and
"<screen_capture_enabled>TRUE</screen_capture_enabled>"
...yet these functions seem to be missing from the IM client. As far as I know our organization's service-side policy allows for sending images over IM (confirmed this using the jabber client on a windows machine).
Am I just "doing it wrong" somehow? Is there some special method I need to use to be able to paste images into an IM conversation?
Any help or direction is appreciated.
Thank you,
JasonIt appears they disabled it server-side as the button (a paperclip) normaly appears to the right of the emoticon button. While the jabber-config.xml file can block specific file extensions, it cannot disable the feature entirely. This is done within the Service Parameters of the server, which only an admin can see.
ProcedureStep 1 Choose Cisco Unified CM IM and Presence Administration > System > Service Parameters.Step 2 From the Server menu, choose an IM and Presence node .Step 3 In the Service Parameter Configuration window, choose Cisco XCP Router as the service.Step 4 From the Enable file transfer drop-down list, click On or Off.Step 5 Click Save.Step 6 Restart the Cisco XCP Router Service on every node in the cluster. For more information, see Restart CiscoXCP Router service, on page 43.

SSO for client software appllications
Hi,
Can we have SSO enabled for any applications which needs to have client software installed on user machine?
Once i click on an iView then it should open client software for that application without asking me user name and password.
Thanks,
BhaveshHi Bhavesh,
You can implement SSO with SAP Logon Tickets to acces Non SAP Systems and Applications and you have several options to enable it.
SAP offers a Web server filter that can be used to implement Single Sign On with logon tickets to Web-based applications that support authentication with a HTTP header variable. The filter verifies the logon ticket using the public-key certificate for the logon tickets, then extracts the name of the authenticated user from the logon ticket, and writes it into the HTTP header. You specify the name of the HTTP header variable in the remote_user_alias parameter in the filter configuration file.

Is there a way to have an AppleID for an end-user without credit card info attached to it?
I am in charge of managing the Macs in our department. We have purchased a volume license for Mountain Lion (can't jump to Mavericks yet until we upgrade other software). I have a code to redeem, but the end-user is supposed to have an AppleID. I went ahead and started creating one for her, but it asks for credit card information, and corporate does not wish to have this information attached to an end-user's ID - they just want to supply it at the time of purchase for any future purchases (fear of identity theft and/or unauthorized purchases, I guess).
Our Mountain Lion software is already purchased, so Apple shouldn't need the credit card info for us to be able to install it. I can't install Adobe's Creative Cloud software until she's at least up to Mountain Lion … I feel I am hitting a major roadblock here! Any suggestions? Is this a new requirement? My own AppleID (for work) that I've had for awhile has no credit card currently attached to it … must not have been required at the time.Try this on that Apple ID to get the None payment method option;

I want to give client the ability to change the MOH file themselves - they want to create a new announcement audio each week. They're not going to be comfortable using CCA. I was hoping to let them use FTP (from a PC Desktop) to replace the MOH file in Flash with updated .au file. Is this possible?
If not, what's the Easiest end-user method to have them place the new MOH file into the UC560?
Thanks in advance!
SamHello Sam,
There is an audio port on the front of the UC560. What my clients have done is develop their MOH announcements with associated background music and upload it to an iPod or MP3 player. We plug the audio cable from the iPod into the MoH port and configure the MoH port via CCA 3.2(3). Select the Configuration - Telephony - Voice Features-Music on Hold and select to enable the external MoH port.
As your client wants to add or change the announcements, they just need to play the track and loop it.
Hope this helps.
