CWMS Install "Invalid URL"
I'm trying to install CWMS 2.5.1.29.B-AE
When asked to provide URLs, the setup tool keeps on saying "Invalid URL", with no indication as to what is wrong.
I'm supplying the WebEx Site URL as "cwms-1.example.com/meetings" and the Administration URL as "cwms-admin.example.com/mgmt"
According to the documentation my URLs are valid, and the do resolve to the private VIP address.
Any suggestions?

Hi Gordon,
You will need to remove everything after /, for example:
WebEx Site URL: cwms-1.example.com
Admin SIte URL: cwms-admin.example.com
Usually, WebEx Site URL is something like: meetings.example.com, or conference.example.com. It is better to use something the end users will easily remember.

Youtube Facebook Google etc, Invalid URL error
For many years now I've been putting up with a CONSTANT lingering problem with my Mac OS. These (on a very regular basis) irritating, "Invalid URL" errors.
The picture that you see below is an example of my problem. This example of a Youtube video giving me an error is from a recent article on www.macrumors.com.
Where the youtube video is supposed to be is just an Error. And as I scrolled down the page, all of the subsequent youtube videos had this same error.
So I went to youtube. After typing in the web address, I get the same error except that it fills the entire screen.
After about 20 minutes (of constant screen refreshes and data dumps within safari) the youtube videos finally loaded as if nothing was wrong (as you can see in the second photo).
Sometimes this problems lasts for 10 seconds. But normally it can take between 10 minutes to an hour to begin working again.
The other two websites that give me this same trouble is Google.com and Facebook.com. But Facebook being the most notorious. Not just because my actual facebook page won't load, but because of all of the news sites that load facebook garbage and coding searching for facebook. When the facebook ip address cannot be resolved, these annoying error pop-ups begin bombarding my screen. One minute facebook will work, and I'm reading down the newfeed, then all of the sudden nothing new will load. When I try to refresh the page, I get an error stating that it cannot load the page. Then I just have to wait.
As you can see from the picture below, Sometimes facebook just gives me an error that states, "Safari cannot open the page Facebook.com because Safari cannot establish a secure connection to the facebook server."
This happens EVERY single day. It's really just a crap-shoot whether or not I will be able to get onto Facebook.
Youtube is a little less often (usually happening about 3 or 4 times per week).
Google got so bad that I finally had to change my search provider to Bing, because Google almost never worked.
Has anyone else experienced these problems on their MAC?
I ask because I have 3 MAC computers. 2 Laptops and a MacPro tower.
And EVERY single one has this same problem.
This wasn't such a big deal; ie something I learned to live with... Up until I bought my wife (and Windows Vista convert) her new Macbook Air. And within an hour of booting that thing up for the first time, her Facebook errored out. And has done it pretty consistantly every day, at least twice, since then.
If anyone else has this problem, how did you fix it????????Here are the results:

And please keep in mind that in the past I have completely wiped and reinstalled after reformatting and within an hour or 2 I get the same errors on the these websites.

[SOLVED] pacman -Sy failing with Invalid URL Scheme
I'm getting a comparable pair of lines for each combination of database (core, extra, etc.) and mirror (rankmirrors-generated mirrorlist):
error: url 'http://mirror.rit.edu/archlinux/core/os … .db.tar.gz' is invalid
debug: returning error 43 from download_internal : Invalid URL scheme
Yesterday I did pacman -Sy followed by pacman -Qu then pacman -Su all successfully.
Any thoughts/help?
UPDATE: re-installing pacman's dependencies learned via "pacman -Qi pacman" fixed the problem.

I commented all repositories, except for core, extra and community and ran `pacman -Syu` which worked fine. I uncommented the other respositories and ran `pacman Syu` again. Everything worked fine again. Good.

Everytime i have tried to access Facebook since the end of May 2012 the below error occurs:

I have taken my macbook in to the apple store and they re-installed all software to try and solve this problem. The weird thing is facebook loaded with no trouble at the apple store yet at my place and my partners place it wont work. Please note it works on everyone elses laptop except mine.. I have tried everything from different browsers to reseting all options. My brother today reset our modem, and it still wont work.. I am absolutely stumped!!

For the last few weeks when trying to download an HD trailer (480p, 720p, 1080p) for ANY movie, I keep getting the message Error 47: Invalid URL. (). I have tried in IE 9.0, Firefox 5.0 and Chrome (12.0.742.112) and ALL give me the same result.
I am running the lastest version of QuickTime Player - 7.6.9 (1680.9) [QuickTime Version 7.6.9 (1680.9)] on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.
I have also tried on Windows Vista Business 32-bit SP2 running QuickTime Player - 7.6.5 (518.4) [QuickTime Version 7.6.5 (1327.80)] with IE 9.0, Firefox 3.5.4 and still giving me the same results.
I have found suggestions from posts that are anywhere from 2007-2009 but they do NOT work.
This has obviously been an issue for quite some time and with NO resolution.
I do hope an Apple developer or someone reads this so that we can find out what is being done.
If nothing gets done, then I guess I have no choice but to go to other sites like Yahoo or HD-Trailers, to view trailers that actually work.I have the "Error 47: Invalid URL" problem, too. Startet a few weeks ago, never had this problem in the past.

I testet with Firefox 5.0 and Internet Explorer 9.0.1, a few seconds after selecting HD Trailer on trailers.apple.com (e.g. 720p), I got the error 47 messagebox and "QuickTimePlayer.exe*32" was listet in the Taskmanager under processes, but no GUI loaded. I had to kill the process.
I also tried disabling my Norton Internet Security, but has no effect.
When I "save to ..." and try to open the (very small) *.mov file in Quicktime I get an error, too.
Other *.mov files from my HDD working fine.
Yesterday I tried my old PC (Pentium 4 3.2 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP 32-bit SP3) and I could watch the HD Trailers with Firefox 5.0 and IE 8.0 with no problems!
While the "invalid URL" points to a problem on the apple website, maybe it only happends on Windows 7 / 64-bit systems. -
Invalid URL for Web Content Overlay, ERROR!!!!!!

I'm hoping someone can help me with this error, I was working on my indesign file and was testing it out locally, then I went on to upload my file and I got prompt to install a new version of the Folio panel which I did, now every time I try to upload my file I get this "ERROR: Invalid URL for Web Content Overlay", I've searched around and have not come up with an answer. Not sure if its a bug on the new update or what. I tried some troubleshooting which this is what i did. I copied my first page of my document onto a different file and tried to upload one page and then i got the error but then I deleted the images and just left one text box and it uploaded my file without any issues, strange huh. Any ideas????I was having the same problem with both hyperlinks and buttons in one particular file -- "Invalid URL for Web Content Overlay." It seems to only be a problem in files where I had a link or button previously, and then deleted the object. When I create a new object and create a link or button, it's as though the old link is still lingering somewhere in the file! However, none of the old links is listed in the hyperlinks panel before I create a new one.
This occurred while I was teaching a DPS class, using the Adobe courseware (sight unseen by any proofreader, I believe). In one of the exercise files, the steps for the student to create hyperlinks and buttons had already been done, so I deleted the hyperlinks. (I think I deleted the text frames that contained them, but I'm not sure.) I never had a problem with it UNTIL I downloaded the Overlay Creator/Folio Builder dated June 19 (v21, I think).
In the same file, I also had problems with a NAVTO link, . I don't think there were any NAVTO links in any earlier version of the file, at least none that I ever created or deleted.
I've coded HTML since the days when the only available tool was Notepad, so I'm sure that I used correct URLs (and none redirected). Even the URLs in the deleted objects were correct; I only deleted them so the exercise could be done again. -

Why am I getting the flag 'Invalid URL for web content overlay" when making scrolling panel in Indesign? Iam making additions to existing articles but the problem is new. The articles were originally made using CS and now I am on CC, which I have just uninstalled and re installed, no difference, can anyone help please? Steve
Hi Bob, thankyou very much for coming back on this. The flag is coming up towards the end of the preview process on desk top. I have made dozens if not hundreds on my two published apps on the app store, but have not done an update for nearly a year, in which time I have needed a refresher, and as usual went to Lynda. In this case I have followed to the letter your DPS course, which is great, and I found the process of making the scrolling panels somewhat easier than when I started 2-3years ago. Initially I was mystified that the flag talked about url and web content, but just put it down to something I had missed in recent improvements in CC.
I tried over and over, but always got the same result. I thought at one point it might be because the content of my slide was copy and photo, so for a test I deleted the photo. Same result, and many of my existing slides are copy and picture.
I also uninstalled Indesign CC and reinstalled in case of corrupted content, I also copied to IDML and relaunch, same problem. I am sure I have made the scrolling content as instructed, The one thing I havn't done is trash my preferences, if you think that would be a good Idea could you please direct me to some content at Lynda on how to do it in CC. VC Web Service "Invalid url error", after following all steps in blog.
I need urgent help.
I am trying to define External Web Service System http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL
I have completed all steps as given in https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/vc/webServiceInvalid+URL&
But it still points me to "Invalid url for the webservice".
I have follwing version installed, SAP NW 04 java Preview, Appl server java 6.4 sp16
If I go to VC help, it shows versions 700.10.0027.
I am from Java background, and new to EP, have to get in speed with VC, I have followed all steps properly, as given in above url.

Invalid URL after trying to validate a certificate issue
I got this message:
"The certificate helps Firefox determine whether the site you're visiting is actually the site that it claims to be. If there is a problem with the certificate, you will see the This Connection Is Untrusted alert page......"
I tried to go through the steps to make sure it was fine. Apparently I clicked the wrong button because now I get an invalid URL message EVERYtime. I need to be able to access this site daily. I've installed on my laptop the Integration Solution for SAPB1.
I've downloaded the app on my Ipad.

Since last night, every time i try to connect to www.facebook.com on my macbook the message "invalid URL" comes up and i can't reach my profile.
I thought it may have something to do with my internet provider but it works fine on my ipad...
I have tried with firefox, chrome and safari and all 3 come up with the same invalid message except that the reference starting with #9.54e0fc ends differently...
Any ideas on how i can fix that?

How to Flush DNS in Mac OS X
If you are an Internet or web developer or do a fair amount of administrator tasks on your Mac, then the requirement to flush DNS cache will arise. Depending on what version of the OS is installed on your computer (Leopard vs Tiger), there will be a slightly different command to flush DNS.
Step 1 – If Mozilla Firefox is installed on your computer, exit the application if it is open.
Step 2 – Open the terminal on your computer.
Step 3 – On a computer running Lion (Mac OS X 10.5, 10.6, or 10.7) enter the following command followed by pressing the “return” key:
dscacheutil –flushcache
Step 4 – In Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, enter the following command followed by pressing the “return” key:
lookupd –flushcache
But everythime i reach step 4, it asks me for my password and my keyboard freezes so i cant type anything...lemme know if it works ! -
"invalid URL" download prob on powerbook but not imac...
I have been down loading some movies on my imac with no problem. They are WMVs but I have the latest flip for mac (2.2) installed, running in the latest version of Leopard. In Safari, I open the download link in a new tab and the movie opens within the safari window as a video pane - I can watch it as its downloading or wait until its done and save it to my HD. When I go to do this exact same thing on my powerbook (also running the latest FFM, Safari and Leopard) I open the download in the new tab, QT opens (instead of the video in safari window) and a new QT window opens the a message "Invalid URL" pops up so I click OK and the QT window closes. As far as I can tell all the QT and FFM settings are exactly the same.
My imac is at home on my personal network and I just tried with the powerbook on the cloud public wifi network (not at home now). I didn't think this should make a difference as all other apps are using the network fine.
Any help would be great.

the setting which causes the new QT window to open is found in System Preferences-Flip4Mac-Browser tab - Launch Quicktime Player.
I don't know why you'd get the invalid url message, but see if changing the setting to open within the browser sorts it out.
