Cyan ink will not print.

My Officejet Pro 8000 wireless suddenly stopped printing Cyan (blue) without warning.  No "low ink" light, no printhead error messages, nothing.  I replaced the ink tank, and the print head appears to be clean. The magenta, on the same print head, is working fine.  Any help will be appreciated.

Hello Bisonbill,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are not able to print in any cyan ink on your HP Officejet 8000 Wireless printer. You have no problems with any other color on the OJ 8000.
I would like you to start here: Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages, please focus on the cleaning as well, the cartridge may just need to be properly vented, or cleaned.
Let me know if this helped.
Thanks,
HevnLgh

I had to replace both printheads about $85 a piece.  It may be more cost effective to buy a new printer.  Once I replaced the one printhead, the other one went out.  It is common and it did solve the issue.  I really like my printer and if it gets me another year or so, I think it was worth it.

black ink will not print and alignment fails.  I have cleaned the print heads through all levels.  The colors print perfectly but black will not print.  I have reset the printer, run tests pages, but still no black ink and the unit trys to align, but fails.  The unit is no longer in warranty.

    HP Deskjet 2050 3 in 1 - Windows 7
I have run the print/scan doctor, alignment and cleaning options. The printer engages as it is printing but there is no ink on paper. Cartridges seem clean and fresh ink will come out of cartridges. Unable to print color or black ink. Thank you in advance

    Hello ebbevans,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the printer not printing black of coloured ink.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also located a document that deals with Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

I have read through the blogs on this and it looks like others have run into the same problem that I am having.  It says that my warranty was up in Sept. 2013.  So, I'm not sure where to go from here.  I was hoping that someone from HP might be able to help me?  I have replaced the black ink cartridge with an authentic HP cartridge and ran all of the diagnostics.  I really like this printer so, I hope there is a solution to this problem.  Any suggestions would be great.  Thank you!

  • Photosmart C6180 All-In-One...Black Ink will not print...the page is almost blank

The Printer seems to work correctly, but the page is almost blank.  The only exceptions are a few faint characters, and sometimes a light line down the side of the page.  Can you please help?  The printer has not had much mileage.
    Thanks,
    Ross

I ran all those tests and did all the upplugging, turning off, etc.  Do not think is a software / connection problem.  Somehow I think the issue is in the black print head.  All ink levels are very good.  In the past, I have been running the printer with the print settings in the software at ... print  in Greyscale / Black Only.  Though the old black cartridge showed plenty of ink, I put in a new black cartridge and that is not the problem.
Even when I put a paper on the glass to copy and use the black copy button, it prints very faintly...almost not even there.  Yet when I copy by pushing the Color Copy button on the printer and use a color original, colors seem to show up better.
I have used the tool, clean print heads, several times.  There is a lot of ink in the squares, but it is all color.  My gut is somehow the black print head is still plugged, or something like that.  Though it says to use the "clean print heads" sparingly because it uses up ink,  I saw in the self help to do this 3 times or more.
What can I do to get the black print head to print?  I appreciate your comments.  My wife is ready to toss it and move on.
Hope you have a good weekend.
    Thanks,
    Ross

  • Cyan color will not print

Pro L7580 quit printing Cyan color.
Diag Page is showing no blue on the Test 1 or 2.

    Hey ckayv,
Often times this is an issue with the printhead in the Officejet Pro L7580 series All-in-One that you are describing.  However, before going to the expense of changing out the printhead I would advise taking a look at the steps in the document linked below.
    Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues
If the troubleshooting is unable to fix the print quality issue, then you have a couple of options at this point.
You can replace the printhead (Cyan/Magenta printhead).  The printhead is the 88 Cyan and Magenta printhead and can be obtained from many HP retailers, such as where you purchase your cartridges.
You can purchase a new printer that doesn't have a problem with the printhead.
    Hope this helps,
    Jason

    HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-in-One -
    Issue:
Blue ink will not print (It prints the color pink instead.).
    Actions taken:
    1.  Cleaned ink heads.
    2.  Replaced ink cartrige.
    3.  Reinstalled software.
    Sugestions by HP customer service:
Purchase a new printer: Because the issue is software related - not reading the blue ink cartrige.
Any suggestions or advice would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you.
    Sincerely,

The cyan portion of the printhead may be clogged.  I would suggest running the diagnostics shown here.  If three levels of cleaning of the printheads does not resolve the issue you may need a new printhead.

  • L7555 Will not print cyan

My grandparents have an old 7555 Pro and recently installed new cartridges in it but since then they have not been able to print anything with cyan in it. They asked me to fix it and after a few diagnostic reports, two alignments (it was way off), four auto cleanings and a hand cleaning the thing still will not print cyan. They did tell me that it had started this a few months ago but it was just faded, not full on missing the cyan. The diagnostic says the printheads are fine and the ink is brand new but they do not have the money to get it fixed somewhere since it is obviously out of warranty. K, Y and M all work fine it is just C that is having issues. The printer is not desplaying any error messages and comes out with a perfect self-test.
I have a suspicion it is the ink line but I am weary about pulling it apart only to find out it's a glitch or something.  I've looked around the forums before signing up and none of the answers for this issue worked. So before I go pulling this monster apart does any one have any suggestions to try to get the cyan to work?

    Hi Tam1711,
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message after the weekend from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post ( serial numbers and case details)

HP Officejet 4620, Windows 7....installed new HP black ink cartridge and now it will not print black at all. I followed all online tips in the help section, even cleaned the vents on the cartridge itself but only prints blank page. No error messages are shown. Diagnostics ran and says all is working correctly. Also cleaned printheads through 2 cycles still nothing. Any other suggestions? It was working just fine before inserting new black cartridge.
