Cycle Count - New Item

Hi,
Is there any 'enhancement' to mimic the functions LI11n to create a new item? I got a function module for inv_count but not able to create a new quant like what LI11n did.
Any hint is highly appreciated.
Thanks.

  • Cycle Counting - New on SAP

We are new on sap.  So most of our materials have never been counted.  I have run mibc(ABC analysis), then I ran micn by material group to generate a cycle count.  One of my 'A' materials is missing.  It's in stock and we've never counted it before.  Shouldn't everything that hasn't been counted come up on my cycle count?  If I extend my cycle count date out, it comes up, but it's not due until 6/1/2009 to be counted.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    1. What was the planned count date range that did not show the one A material and the range that did?
I originally ran the count for 5/6/2009 - the A item was not included
When I extended my date range to 5/6/2009 to 8/30/2009, the item was included, however it wasn't due to count until 6/1/2009, and it was being placed on a physical inventory count sheet for that future date.
    2. What other checks and values are you using in MICN?
    Selection Criteria:
    plant - 3020
    Storage Location - 0001
    Material Group - KIDD
materials marked for deletion - checked
    Stock Level:
    materials w/o zero stock -checked
Data in Phys Inv Doc Header:
    Date 5/6/2009
    Batch Input Session:
    Issue Log - checked
    Name of Session - MB_MI01_CN
Max. No. of Items - 333
    Sort by:
    Material Group - checked
Enter grouping criterion in doc header - checked
What is the stock level of this material?
    52 unrestricted
I did find also that the consultant that configured our cycle counts made an error.  The A items are set to count 2 times a year.  But would that make a difference?  I thought everything that wasn't counted and was in stock for that material group would show up.

  • Cycle Counting - Inactive Items

    Hi,
The Inactive items are appearing in the cycle count. Is this the intended functionality of the Oracle?
Also please let me know how to make sure that Inactive items dont appear on the cycle counts.
    Thanks in advance.
    RA

Deleting data from open interface will not stop the cycle count requests showing the items..
The CC requests will stop getting created for the items only when you DELETE the item form the CC.
Follow the below navigation and delete the item's
    INV Super User>>Counting>>Cycle Counting>>Cycle Counts>>Your CC NAme>>Open>>Items>>Query ur Inactive Item>>Delete
After you do this for all your inactive items there should not be any new requests to do CC for these items

  • Urgent help on cycle count

    Hi,
How can i do Itemwise cycle count irrespective of the locations
    Scenario:
Item ABC is lying in multiple warehouses. While physically doing the cycle count for Item, the exercise is carried for all warehouses where the item exists.
i.e Itemwise cycle count irrespective of the locations.
    Thanx in advance.
    Regards
    Rasika

    Hi Rasika
    First define the Cycle count
    Path:
    Admin=>Setup=>Inventory=>Inventory Cycle
    Fields(Name,frequency,alert,time)
Connect this cycle count to the Item Group
    Path:
    Admin=>Setup=>Inventory=>Item groups (Cycle count field)
Connect the corresponding itemgroup to the items
Now you can see in the Inventory tab of item master data the cycle count details
On the particular date and time it will give u an alert
Now you can go to the Inventory=>Inventory transactions=>Initial quantities
    In the Inventory tracking tab:
Enter the counted in whse against the item
If there is any difference in the quantity stored with the quantity counted it will make that difference in the stock posting
Once you had updated the stock posting it will post the difference (i.e, it will update the stock as well as the valuation)
This u have to do individually for  the different warehouses
    HTH
    Have a nice day

  • Add New Item in WM Cycle Count - LI11N

Can someone tell me the purpose of the new item button in transaction LI11N.  I thought it would be for adding items NOT on the invenory document while entering count results, but that does not appear to be the case.  When I select the new item button to add new items, I receive error "XXX storage bin does not belong to inventgory number."  However if I add an item that already exists on the inventory docuemnt it allows the addition.  That doesn't make sense to me because that's not an addition, its' really just a funciton of adding the counts for an existing item.  Perhaps I'm missing something in my configuration or settings for WM or my materials and that's why this does not allow additions of items NOT on the document.
Thanks in advance for your response

Thank you for your response Sarita,
Just before I received your message I found some documentation that explained further the use of the "add item" button.  You  are correct, the add item button is only for entering counts for bins already listed on the inventory document, but it allows the addition of different materials for that bin - in the event that the bin is a "mixed" bin.
    Thank you!

  • Add new batch during count entry (for cycle count by quant LICC)

Hi! We are using LICC for cycle counting by quant as we have mixed storage and do not want to count all the materials in a single bin. Most of the materials involved are batch-managed. One issue we have is we may discover other batches during stock take. In this case, how can we add this to the stock adjustment since we cannot add new item when we use cycle counting by quant?
Appreciate your suggestion in this case.
    Cheers!
    SF

    Hi,
Whenever you find discrappancies, in this case founds, you will note these down and first do an analysis whether this particular batch has been written off in the past as lost. When not, you will make a MB1À or MIGO booking to add this found batch to stock. When yes, you could do a reversal of the issue or do a new receipt.

  • Duplicate Items in Cycle Count

    Hello -
I am new to setting up Cycle Counts.
We have a count that is weekly and it is generating the same count for week 2 as it did for week 1 for all subinventories.
It is setup with a yearly calendar defining the weeks.
It is setup for the Org on the 1st of the month.
It is setup on a scheduler as weekly.
Once it is setup - we run the Cycle Count Scheduler and then run the Generate Count Requests.
Generally the team at the subinventory location will run the weekly counts a few days prior to the due date In this case. run the count for 4/1-4/7 for their subinventory location and then do the count and enter by the 8th.
When they ran their counts on 4/9 and and 4/10 for 4/8-4/14 - the same items (new tag numbers) printed for each subinventory location.
We did find that someone in another location reran the Generate Count Requests on 4/8.
Did this maybe cause the count to restart and duplicate week 1 data as week 2 data?
Thanks for any suggestions or assistance.

  • I bought a brand new MacBook Pro Mid 2014, and my battery cycle count is on 2!!

As I said on the question, a brand new MacBook Pro I bought recently which I haven't even put on charge yet already has a cycle count of 2!
I'm just curious if this is normal and I want to make sure that I received a brand "new" one not a refurbished one.
Did anyone else order a new laptop and have cycle charge of 2 or more and is this normal or not?

The factory charges the battery, one cycle, they may then test that particular MacBook Pro as part of the production testing and it ends up with another cycle.  Two cycles is not something to worry about.  If you bought the unit from an Apple store or directly from Apple, it will not be a refurbished MBPr unless they specifically said it was.  They don't do things like that.

  • Manually schedulled cycle count items are not coming in cycle count listing

We had scheduled some items for manual cycle counting for particular date. But those are not getting generated in cycle count listing report or not avialble for counting.
Checkpoints done: 1. Items are cycle count enabled
    2. Those items are avialable in that Cycle count  Name
    3. Onhand is avialbe for those items in particular subinventory
    4. Cycle count scope is specific to Subinventory and that sub inv is included in the list
Can anyone give some thoughts why those manually schedulelled items are still not getting in cycle count listing report?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Avinash,
Can you please let us know, are you using the CC with ABC analysis?

  • Cycle Counting is not fetching All Items in Different Classes

    Hi All,
My client has performed cycle counting. Ideally system has to fetech all the items in different classes. But in cycle counting listing report only able to fetch few items.
Please let me know are we missing something ?
And please let me know the significance of "Assign Items". How to put the same.
    Regards,
    John
    Edited by: 911765 on Mar 14, 2012 4:36 AM

    1) CC won't fetch all items in all classes.
It will look at only those items that are present in the assign items screen.
It will only consider those items which have cycle count enabled flag set to Yes in item master
It will only consider those items that have a non-zero frequency for the ABC class of the item.
It will only print those items that have some onhand if you run the CC to ignore zero onhand items.
    2) You can either manually add items to a CC in the assign items window.
    OR
You can reinitialize or update the CC (by going to the 3rd tab on CC screen)
Make sure that you have run ABC compilation so each item has a ABC class. You should also specify the frequency for each ABC class.

  • Load Cycle Count over 7500 in just 5 days on new DV4 series notebook

    Hi,
I'm really concerned about my new laptop i bought just a week ago (dv4-4172); it happens that the disk is making a lot of noise just like the infamous 'clicking sound of death' and reporting up to now, more than 7500 load cycles in just 5 days of operation and also, 2 errors in the CRC of the UDMA. Since my hard disk (Hitachi HTS547564A9E384 640.1 GB) was behaving like that i ran several test on the disk (HP's BIOS run-tests, HDD Tune, smartctl (short and the long one), etc.) but i'm not getting a single read-write error, that is, the system hasn't any functional/operational problem, yet. Furthermore, my disk's lifespan is 600000 load cycles and i'm getting about 1500 in just a day, you don't even need a calculator to realize the harddisk won't last more than 1.5 years. The constant clicking of the disk is also getting on my nerves too .
The question here is, is it normal for this hard disk to have an average count of 1500 load/unload in a day (i.e. 1 cycle every minute) or is my disk the only one with suicidal attitudes?. My last notebook's harddisk (Seagate) didn't get more than 100k cycles in 2 years of operation, that's why i'm concerned...
Naturally, hdparm solves the issue, but (partially or permanently) disabling my harddisk's APM is even more suicidal than my disk's actual attitude, and by the way, you need some technical skillset to change those values (I'm a linux sysadmin, so i knew how to solve that specific issue), why is the default configuration set as this? or is HP expecting every single user to know how to modify the APM or, if you don't, to have a seat while watching your hard disk self destruction take place.
    Thanks in advance.
    - melvin
FYI, the problem is agnostic of which operating system i use, even in the POST stage the harddisk starts with that annoying clicking (and its corresponding cycle count increased), and yeah, i've updated all my drivers and followed every suggestion hp support assistant gave to me, like the nice guy i am.
    This question was solved.

    Hello uncle_sam,
You’re having a problem with the hard drive.
The drive is not supposed to be making any noise.
Since the unit is still new I’d call HP and have them send you a new HDD.
Here is a link to the phone number.
Clicking the White Kudos star on the left is a way to say Thanks!
Let me know how everything goes.
    Have a good day.

  • MI02 : new items for a document with item already counted

    Dear.
I try to insert new items for an inventory document.
This document have items already counted.
The system send this error message M7706 : Items already counted (no new items possible).
Do you know a solution to avoid this error message ?
    Thanks.

M7706 is a hard coded error message, you cannot control it via message attributes.
What you can do is to do a re-count via transaction MI11 with reference to this inventory document. In this case you will be able to add new items, however, you have to enter the counted amounts for the existing items again.
But in my opoinion it's easier to create a new PID as suggested by Jurgen.

  • New HDD Load / Unload Cycle Count increasing extremely fast !

    Hi all
I just upgrade my Pavilion dv5 HDD. The new model is Hitachi Travelstar 7K500 (HTS725050A9A364). However, I found my new HDD's Load / Unload Cycle Count increasing extremely fast!
Until now the number of Load / Unload Cycle is 12,127. However, the new HDD only power on 137hours. (About 1 week of my use.)  The data below is my new HDD's SMART data (by EVEREST 5.50):
    ID
    01    Raw Read Error Rate    62    100    100    0
    02    Throughput Performance    40    100    100    0
    03    Spinup Time    33    159    159    2
    04    Start/Stop Count    0    100    100    14
    05    Reallocated Sector Count    5    100    100    0
    07    Seek Error Rate    67    100    100    0
    08    Seek Time Performance    40    100    100    0
    09    Power-On Time Count    0    100    100    137
    0A    Spinup Retry Count    60    100    100    0
    0C    Power Cycle Count    0    100    100    14
    BF    Mechanical Shock    0    100    100    0
    C0    Power-Off Retract Count    0    100    100    1
    C1    Load/Unload Cycle Count    0    99    99    12127
    C2    Temperature    0    152    152    19, 36
    C4    Reallocation Event Count    0    100    100    0
    C5    Current Pending Sector Count    0    100    100    0
    C6    Offline Uncorrectable Sector Count    0    100    100    0
    C7    Ultra ATA CRC Error Rate    0    200    200    0
    DF    Load/Unload Retry Count    0    100    100    0
I'm pretty sure that the data is correct, because I can hear the HDD's Load / Unload sound very frequently. The C1 row increase about 2,000 per day.  However my previous Hitachi 5K320 has no problem. The running operating system are both Windows 7.
I'm so worry about this. As you know, laptop HDD's L / UL Cycle is designed at 600,000. If my HDD continue increasing like this, it will reach this number in a very short time. Any one can help me?

It's a feature of modern 2.5" harddisks , the disk parks the head when its been inactive for a while, to avoid damage , uses less power , and reduces the heat etc gives the harddisk a better looking spec sheet , its meant to park its head after being inactive for a long time around an hour with proper management from the bios/os of the head parking feature, because there is nothing to manage this feature in hp's bios or os the disk parks the head about every minute for no reason then after 1 second the head goes back on the disk thats 1 load/unload cycle , it also effects performance as the head has to find its place back on the disk , load times will decrease by alot , videos will stutter the first few secs, i have the same problem but not as bad after 130 hours i had a count of around 1,250 load/unloads , different brands of disk have different idle timers plus i use utorrent which stops the harddisk from idling so much, there are a couple of solutions, you can find a tool to update/mod the harddisk firmware to increase the idle timer ( i decided against this as you can permently brake the harddrive and void the warrenty) , contact hp and request a bios update with proper management or the harddisk head parking feature i.e tell the harddisk it is idle after an hour, the temperary solutions are download hd tune and run it all the time this stops the harddisk from parking its head as it doesn't let it go idle , or the solution i am using at the moment download a programme called HDD scan , everytime you turn on/off  you have to run the prog go to tasks/features/ide features set the advance power management from its default value to 254 then press set, no more unnessary load/unloads, downside is the disk runs a couple of 0c hotter mine still never goes above 40c even under full load thanks to a active cooling pad, also its less well protected against shock.

  • Cycle Count API and Serial Items

We've been using mtl_cceoi_action_pub.import_countrequest to submit our cycle counts, but now have to include serial items.
I cannot find out how to link serial numbers to this procedure so that it can pass. There is a serial_number field in the record passed to the procedure, but how do I deal with quantities greater than 1?
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks.

You need to pass one serial at a time.
    Hope this answers your question.

  • Cycle Count Reservation Issue in Item Supply/Demand Form

    Hi
Few of the inventory items are stuck with Cycle Count Reservation in Item Supply/Demand Form. The Identifier field is empty. It is not tied to any sales order or PO . I checked the On hand quantity(on-hand quantity form) and the current on hand (Item Supply/Demand form) both are same. Could not able to figureout what went wrong and how the cycle count reservations are created. Even after performing the Cycle counting on these items, it did not consumed these reservations and releaved those reservations.
Could anyone suggest me please in what scenrios we get this issue and how to eliminate these records from the Item Supply/Demand Form. we are on 11.5.10.2 INV and WMS RUP4.
    Thank You!
    Krishna

CC reservations can be triggered by Curtail (Short) picks on mobile gun. When this happens the ATR qty gets decremented by this Qty by putting a CC reservation.
This can also be deleted from front end by changing the demand source to acc/acc alias, save and then delete.
