Cycle Counting - Must done by the Interval?

Hi,
We've implemented warehouse management , and we have set  "Monthly" for cycle counting indicator "A", that mean, we should perform stocktaking for the materials with indicator "A".
My question is, if we don't execute the transaction LS26 for some monthlys,
For example, we did not perform any stocktaking in Jan, Feb, March..., we just start stocktaking and run tcode LX26  from June, no any cycle counting related tcodes ran before June, what will happen within Feb, Jan and March, ? or that does not matter?
Regards

it does not matter.
from a legal point of view you have to count the materials just once a year.
if you choose cycle counting as inventory method, then you want count more often for better inventory accuracy.
If you finally dont do that........then it just violates your own rules.

  • How does Mac OS calculate the charging Cycle count?

    Hello, Guys
How does Mac OS calculate the charging Cycle count? I just used my MBP for about 15 min without power plugged in and I saw it left about 90% battery. However after the battery be recharged, I checked system profiler. It shows charging cycle count increased 1. I do remember that last time I left almost the same percentage of battery and plugged in. After the battery was fully charged, profiler did show cycle count increased.
So I am wondering How does Mac OS calculate the charging Cycle count? Basing on the percentage left or something else?
    Thanks,

    Ok,
But does it count continuously or separatly? I mean One time I used 10% and recharged full; and next time I used 20% and fully recharged again. Does the OS increase the cycle count when the usage adds up to 100% no matter how many times of recharge?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
The below is the issue my user asking for.
there are  B items are to be counted 6 times a year (Once every two months)..
    For example:
If  plant A has 1000 B items then 500 should be counted in month one and 500 should be counted in month 2.
However, it seems that all the B movers are in the same month thus the cycle count is for ALL items.

    Hi
Cycle counting is a method of physical inventory whereby material is inventoried at regular intervals within a fiscal year. These intervals or cycles depend on the cycle counting indicator set for the material.
Cycle counting allows fast-moving items to be counted more frequently than slow-moving items, for example.
All materials to be included in the cycle counting inventory are flagged. This is done either manually, using a cycle counting indicator in the material master record (storage data), or automatically, by means of an ABC analysis. The cycle counting indicator allows you to classify materials into individual cycle counting categories (for example: A, B, C, D) In Customizing, you can set for each category how often the materials are inventoried.
You can flag materials that are to be included in cycle counting as follows:
Manually in the material master record (storage data)
    Automatically using ABC analysis.
You can use program RMCBIN00 to carry out an ABC analysis, which assigns materials to each category according to consumption or requirements. You can choose whether the analysis should only include materials with cycle counting indicators or all materials. The cycle counting indicator can be automatically updated in ABC analysis.
To plan the cycle counting inventories, start the RM07ICN1 cycle counting program at regular intervals. This program checks the due dates for inventories for all cycle counting materials.
If it is time for an inventory for a certain material, use the program to create a batch input session to create physical inventory documents. Physical inventory documents are only created for stock type 1 (unrestricted use). The planned inventory count date is calculated as follows:
Date of last inventory + pre-defined interval
The interval between inventories for each cycle counting indicator is set in Customizing.
Use the batch input session to create the physical inventory documents.
Now you can carry out the inventory. When the difference is posted, the actual inventory count date is recorded in the material inventory data as the date of the last inventory.

  • Service order creation based on counter reading assigned to the Ibase.

    Hi All,
I've created a service contract (ZXXX) with the item category (ZIT1) of service plan.
In the item category (ZIT1) definition i've copied the standard item cat. of service plan (SPLA) and assigned the standard date profile SERVPLAN to the item category.
Requirement - Service order has to be created automatically if the counter reading assigned to the Ibase is greater than counter reading that is maintained in the service plan template that is assigned to the service plan product(Item) in the service contract transaction.
    Master Data -
Service Interval Template - Created service plan template for counter based interval and maintained the interval as 100HR.
Assigned the template to service plan product(item) which is assigned in the service contract.
Created a counter ID and assigned the counter to the Ibase.
In the item date profile SERVPLAN , I've assigned the date rule (Planned time based on the counter reading) to 'Release date' date type.
In the item action profile ., Action is defined as it should create a service order (ZSER) with the template defined in the item if the (Release date =< today's date) as start condition.
I've maintained the complete master data.
Now Release date should be picked based on the counter reading of the Ibase assigned to the service plan item in the service contract.
If Ibase counter reading > counter reading maintained in the interval the release date = todays date.
If Ibase counter reading < counter reading maintained in the interval the release date = future date.
which is not happening now in my case. service order is getting created even the counter reading of Ibase is less than the interval.
Please let me know if further more changes to be done to map the scenario.
    Thanks
    Syam

    Hello,
    I found the following:
If you fill someting in the fields REFOBJ_IBASE, this value is being converted into a GUID internally
    This happens in function CRM_BSP_OIC_1O_SEARCH_FROM_RF
So you have to make sure that the search field REFOBJ_IBASE points towards the field CRMD_SRV_REFOBJ~GUID_OBJECT ( via table CRMC_REPDY )
And even then I have the impression it only works when you only fill the Ibase in the order. When you fill the component there is a different GUID.
In my case I found out it is even more complex, so I will need to create my own search field (extend search structure )

  • Best practice for retail store cycle count

    Hi experts
Would you have any experience/best practice in designing for cycle count process for your clients?
By cycle count, I mean for frequent counting (daily) for specific item category / exceptional count request.
My client want to implement a cycle count process to minimize the effort for full stock take which happen around 3 times per year.
They are using SAP as the core system to keep track of inventory, and using external store system, so some considerations would be on, for example:
    - whether the count variance or counted quantity shall be interfaced back to SAP
    - whether SAP should be the source to initiate a stock count process or POS initiate
It would be very nice if you can share some best practice as in the process flow, system information flow, etc.
    Best regards
    Dominic

    Hello
Both can be done but as you say SAP is the core system at least for tracking inventories, better create and integrate inventories is SAP aswell.
The main advice I would give is to avoid specific tables for inventory integration because standard tables and specific won't be updated well sometimes and support would be needed, stick on standard transactions.
If the inventory is centralised in SAP, you can for example count them with PDA, send to SAP connectors your counting which will be integrated from a xml file transformed in a Idoc for SAP.
One parameter is important to consider as the freeze for inventory. You have to decide if you take into account any stock movement that could occur after your inventory creation or not. If you do, the variance after the counting will depend on the initial stock value and also the movement.
If you don't, the variance will only take into account your initial stock value withotu considering the stock movement.
    Hope it helps you,
    Génia.

  • Cycle count inventory

    Hi everybody,
When doing a cycle count via tx LX26, the following error appears:
"CC inventory not prepared in IM
    Message no. L4173"
I've read some threads regarding this item, and what I have done is the following:
OMNK - activate cycle counting for my warehouse and storage types.
    ommb - for number ranges
IMG > Logistics Execution > Warehouse Management > Activities > Physical Inventory > Dynamic Cycle Counting > General Settings > Define Storage Type Settings
    omco
article master data (when using mibc all articles appear with the cc indicater filled)
I think I have everything correctly configured and there is no stp missing, but the reality is that I am not able to perform the cycle count.
    Any idea?
    Thanks

Have you made material master settings ?
    Marking Materials for Cycle Counting
This step is only required if you perform cycle counting for the first time or if you want to update the cycle counting indicators.
In the material master record (storage data), maintain the cycle counting indicator for all the materials that are to be included in cycle counting.
You can set the indicator in one of the following two ways:
manually in the material master record. To do this, choose Material ® Change from the Material Master menu.
automatically using ABC analysis To do this, choose Special procedures ® Cycle counting ® Set CC indicator from the Physical Inventory menu.

  • Cycle counting process

    Hi all,
Could you please some good link/ notes about cycle counting process.
    Sruthi

Hi, Please go through the following.
Cycle counting is a method of physical inventory whereby inventory is counted at regular intervals within a fiscal year. These intervals depend on the cycle counting indicator set for the material.
Cycle Counting allows you to count fast-moving items more frequently than slow-moving items, for example.
    General Procedure
Mark all materials that are to be included in cycle counting with a cycle counting indicator in the material master record (storage data). The cycle counting indicator is used to group the materials together into various cycle counting categories (for example, A, B, C, and D). In Customizing for Inventory Management, you can define for each category the time intervals at which the materials are to be counted.
You can use the program ABC Cycle Counting Analysis (RMCBIN00) to perform an analysis. In this analysis, the system assigns the materials to the individual categories according to consumption or requirements. You can also specify whether this analysis is to consider only the materials with cycle counting indicator or all materials. The cycle counting indicator in the material master records can be updated automatically by this program.
For the planning of cycle counting, run the program Create physical inventory documents for cycle counting (RM07ICN1). This program checks all cycle counting materials to determine whether a physical inventory is due to be carried out.
You can create physical inventory documents for the following stock types, as well as unrestricted-use stock (stock type 1):
    quality inspection stock
    blocked stock
The system calculates the planned count date for all stock types as folllows:
Date of last physical inventory of unrestricted-use stock + predefined interval
If a material needs to be counted, use the program to create a batch input session for creating physical inventory documents. To create the physical inventory documents, process the batch input session .
When the inventory differences are posted, the actual count date is recorded in the physical inventory data of the material as the date of the last physical inventory.
    Activities
    Marking Materials for Cycle Counting
This step is only required if you perform cycle counting for the first time or if you want to update the cycle counting indicators.
In the material master record (storage data), maintain the cycle counting indicator for all the materials that are to be included in cycle counting.
You can set the indicator in one of the following two ways:
manually in the material master record. To do this, choose Material ® Change from the Material Master menu.
automatically using ABC analysis To do this, choose Special procedures ® Cycle counting ® Set CC indicator from the Physical Inventory menu.
Creating Physical Inventory Documents for Cycle Counting
From the Physical Inventory menu, select Special procedures ® Cycle counting ® Create physical inventory documents.
    Enter the data required.
    Carry out the evaluation.
Choose Edit ® Generate session to create the batch input session.
Select System ® Services ® Batch input ® Edit from the menu to process the session.
Carry out the physical inventory for the physical inventory documents created.

  • Inventory cycle count report

    Hi
We need to implement inventory cycle count report . Is there a standard business content data source for this ?
    Thanks and Regards
    Arun

Sorry I never responded.  It's really just a matter of what you need to report on.  ISEG has all the basic information you need like plant, material, sloc, etc... so the other tables invovled is really a case by case type of thing.  I can't think of much else you would really need for generic cycle count reporting.
Also, the previous post is a good method depending on your needs.  If showing difference postings and whatnot is suitable, then go with the movement type.  But if you need to dig deeper into it by showing system/counted quantities as well as the difference, then the custom extractor would be the way to go.  For me, I did inventory accuracy/cycle counting type of reporting that needed to consider the actual quantities, as a difference of 2 units on an inventory of 100,000 units is a lot different that 2 units difference on a balance of 100 units.  But that was just my case is all.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Status field in Cycle count

    Hi all,
Is it possible to involve the "status field" of the meterial in Cycle count procvess. Here the client need is to count the material at material status level.
If this possible, please let me know the t-codes / Process flow.
    thanks & regards
    Chaitanya Rayaprolu

Explain what your  status is and what it controls, and where you maintain it.
In general SAP materials can have material statuses to control business.
However these statuses are not visible in a phyiscal inventory document or in its selection screen.
you have to modify screens, programs and forms to make such status visible for physical inventory.

  • Transaction MIBC-- ABC Analysis for Cycle Counting - Physical Inventory

    Dear Friends,
Could you please explain me the cycle count indicator relationship to the percentage of inventory to be counted.
When i am using MIBC transaction and changing the Percentages....based on percentages the system is proposing the new cycle count indicators for the materials.
    Thanks in advance

    Dear Sanjay,
I would recommend you to write your question into the ERP - Logistics Materials Management (MM) topic. I suppose you will get more information about MIBC there.

  • ABC Cycle Counting Process Steps

We currently want to switch our Cycle Counting by Bin location to ABC Cycle Counting. We want the system automatically generate a list of materials to count daily based on there ABC indicator.
Our Current Process Steps are as follows:
Step 1:  LX 26 - Select Items for cycle count
Step 2:  LI04 – Print the Count sheets
    Step 3:  LI11N – Enter the results
    Step 4:  LX17 – View variance
    Step 5:  LI14 – Create recounts
Step 6:  LI04 – Print the recount sheets
    Step 7:  LI11N – Enter the results
    Step 8:  LX17 – View variance
Step 9:  LI20 – Accept Counts & Clear Differences WM
Step 10:  ZLI21 – Accept Counts & Clear Differences IM
But when we switch to ABC Cycle counting we can't do the LX26 because that is when you select the bins you want to count. We need the process steps if we use the system to generate the kick off. Any ideas?

    1. It is a CO problem - I think your error message is KI235. However you may face this problem if settings are ok but you do not do things properly in IM/WM bookings. Please check these links:
    Re: OKB9
Account 5248654 requires an assignment to a CO object---Message no. KI235
Please describe step-by-step (with trx codes) what you did and in which step you get the error message.
    2.
WM bookings will "never" consume you components (or maybe because a bug...). If you want to consume the components you have to post GI with reference to your PrdOrd (CO11N, CO15, CO27, MIGO, MB1A).
If you did a booking with mvt 261 in MB1A by mistake, do the reverse booking by mvt 262. That's all.
If you cannot solve your issue please clarify your problem, step-by-step...

The Inactive items are appearing in the cycle count. Is this the intended functionality of the Oracle?
Also please let me know how to make sure that Inactive items dont appear on the cycle counts.

Deleting data from open interface will not stop the cycle count requests showing the items..
The CC requests will stop getting created for the items only when you DELETE the item form the CC.
Follow the below navigation and delete the item's
    INV Super User>>Counting>>Cycle Counting>>Cycle Counts>>Your CC NAme>>Open>>Items>>Query ur Inactive Item>>Delete
After you do this for all your inactive items there should not be any new requests to do CC for these items
