Cycle Run Group - Assesment

Hi People,
we have the follow situation:
We have many Assesment Cycle to execute at the same time by background for the transaction KSU5, but the system shows us: Cycle ABFEI01310 01.01.2010 cannot be started because run group 0000 is locked.
I already create a specific "Cycle Run Group" = 0001
I thought that it will be possible to create only one Group and link it in all the "Assesment Cycle" , using the same Group but it didn't run. The problem of "lock"still.
The question is:
Do we have to create a "Cycle Run Group" for each "Assesment Cycle"?
We have 45 Cycles!!

Please review OSS Notes : Note 967372 - New GL or SL allocation: Explaining the lock concept
Review using the " Using the cycle run groups " part . You must have some dependency .. which is causing the issue.
Also look into Note 70094 - ALLOCATION: lock problem during background processing
Please revert back for any further clarifications.

Cycle Run Groups

Hi people,
We have many Assessment cycle (Profit Center) to execute and they are in a Job that is executed one by one. When the first is fineshed, the other one started, and so on..
Each cycle has the same "Cycle Run Group" = 0000.
It always work ok. But, since 2 months ago, an error is ocurring.
When we start the job, the system stop in the first cycle for many time. The cycle is concluded.
The next cycle is started and the system says us that the "cycle run group" is blocked, about the first cycle.
But, when we see in the sm37, the first cycle was concluded, but we don´t know the reason that the "cycle run grouop" gets blocked for many time in the first cycle and when is started the second cycle, the system shows the messenger error.
Could you help me please?

Hi,
The best solution is use the instructions of notes 130350 and 70094. These notes explain that you should create the report given in note 70094 and afterwards create a batch job containing several steps including the created report.
As described in the note, you can also work with variables in your variants, so you should only have to maintain once this construction of job steps.

HDI unlock assessment cycle run group

When I try to ru assessment cycle I am geting error mesage . How Do I unlock it so I can run it manualy? here do I lock it and unlock it.

Diagnosis
You want to start cycle A00004 10/01/2004. However, cycle run group 0000 is locked by user . This can happen if user is running a cycle from flow group 0000, or if the cycle is assigned to another flow group, but has dependencies with th flow group for cycle A00004.
System Response
Processing is stopped.
Procedure
Wait until cycle run group 0000 is no longer locked and start your cycle again.
You can lock a cycle run group either by executing a different cycle or manually reposting a document during indirect activity allocation.

Try this. go to KSU5 and extras-cycle-display cycle. then select the cycle. choose go then select the cycle group and select the overview button. here you can see the sub tree and see whether any dependency is there for the cycle. If so you have to run according to the sequence.

Cycle run performance is slow

We have implemented cycle run group to enable parallel run for cycles which are under the same operating concern. But, the problem is it takes longer time to complete the cycle run. Any one knows how to solve this? ( We want to enable parallel run and at the same time keep the time spend to complete the cycle run). Thanks

Product costing Cycle run for first time to complete backlog

Dear sir,
In my Company we went live in April 2011 and since then we never did settlement of Product costing as process was not stream line , but now (in Aug-2011) it is stream-line and we wanted to do Proper costing Cycle run & settlement too.
Can you please let me know that how to proceed further, what precautions must be taken and whether we have to do settlement for April till July or directly we can go for settlement of last month July-2011.

Settlement will be done on period basis in you're case June month is closed and now open periods are July and august.
so the production orders can be settled collectively in CO88 for July month.
and for costing run i.e standard cost estimate you need correct BOM and Routing.
after doing settlement of production orders do costing run.
it's not mandatory that settlement should be done. even you can run the costing with out settlement.
costing run will consider the raw material prices ,activity prices sub-contracting price etc..
after considering the above prices after releasing the costing run it will update the actual price in the material master of the header material.
for indual material=CK11N and CK24
Collectively=CK40N
For the materials with Price indicator V(header materials) settlement is important here no cost estimate.
settlement of production order will leads to change the price in the material master. so here no Standard cost estimate..only settlement.

Result Analysis(WIP) not posted after 4 cycle run

Hi,
Every month value is posted in Result Analysis GL account for WIP. But we found in period 10 and period 11 value is not posted Result Analysis GL account after running 4 cycle run (Overhead calculation, WIP calculation, Variance calculation and Settlement). What may be reason ??

One question related to Cut-Off period regarding WIP calculation which myself and Ajay were discussing 15 days back..
Is it required to change the cut-off everymonth when we calculate WIP . In my client.. then donot do that .. but still we calculate the WIP..
Is the significance of cut-off period is to tell the system the first period to calculate WIP .. during implementation .. My client never changes that and its in a MTS ( Process Order Senario )... but calculates WIP every month.

yes we can go for repeat run.But it is possible to repeat the posting run within the period last posted.Normally the repeat run is carried out at the end of the fiscal year, if completing postings are necessary because of corrections to manual depreciation or depreciation terms

OFA uses its Task Processor rather than Batch Manager to run tasks in batch. Group solves can be scheduled this way by submitting the group solve task to the TP, and then rescheduling it in the Task Queue window.

[SOLVED] sudo: unable to set runas group vector: Invalid argument

I recently made the (idiotic) mistake of overwriting my /etc/passwd and /etc/group files, although I managed to restore them from a backup. Since restarting the machine I'm having the same issue every time I invoke sudo:
sudo: unable to set runas group vector: Invalid argument
I can't find any info on this error. Any ideas on where to start?

EDIT: I should also note that this is a headless machine that I'm accessing via SSH.

It's my understanding that the 'group vector' is a term that refers to the specific set of groups to which a user has membership, rather than a specific group named 'vector'. Although, I could be mistaken.
From the sudo manpage:
The -P (preserve group vector) option causes sudo to preserve the user's group vector unaltered. By default, sudo will initialize the group vector to the list of groups the target user is in. The real and effective group IDs, however, are still set to match the target user.
Similarly, from the sudoers manpage:
By default, sudo will initialize the group vector to the list of groups the target user is in. When preserve_groups is set, the user's existing group vector is left unaltered. The real and effective group IDs, however, are still set to match the target user. This flag is off by default.
But the manpages don't offer me much, I'm still clueless as to why I'm getting the error.
EDIT: although using the -P flag seems to allow sudo to run without error

Issue in Running the Assesement Cycle after upgrade.

We have a Z Transaction Code for running actual assessment. We have migrated to ECC 6.0 from 4.6C. In the standard T Code KSU5, system was giving the message GA 627
"For the execution of assessments, distributions, periodic repostings or indirect activity allocations in the CO-OM application, groups have to be defined in the current client which summarize all actual or planned transactions. In the current client, these groups are either not available or do not have the latest status."
I have run the report RK811XST and now I am able to run KSU5 in the system. However, for ZKSU5, the same issue persists. Please advise

Try to run the report RK811XUP as well.
What happens us when you run the report, it creates some basic sets like 0HC0_VRG*
I dont know which sets are called for in your Z transaction... But, I guess whatever error message it gives in case of ZKSU5, it should also be giving you the program that needs to be run... Did you try executing that and still it gives you error msg?

While I run assessment cycle i get error message:
No account is specified in item 0000000001
Message no. F5670
Diagnosis
No account was specified for account type "S" in item "0000000001" of the FI/CO document.
System Response
The Financial Accounting program cannot process the document.
Procedure
A system error has probably occurred in the application you called up. Check the data transferred to item "0000000001" of the FI/CO document.
It runs in test mode but it gives above error in real posting mode. I checked some of the OSS notes but none were helpful.

In transaction ok17 u need to specify P/L account for exp posting.
and in transaction OBYA u need to maintain baalnce sheet account for clearing between co codes.
and intransaction OBXN u need to maintain balance sheet account for clearing between bus areas.

We would like to know , if the below mentioned setting would affect the performance of the QTP scripts in any way?
We are currently having the 2 major vbs files in QTP Scripts. Each vbs File has around 17000 lines of Code with around 160 functions. And these are loaded at the Beginning of the Automation scriptrun (Not Run Time)
And we load shared Repositories at the start of the QTP run which is about 20MB.
Will this below Corrective action Help?
if we implement the below changes, will be any considerable improvement in the Performance ?
By reducing the No. of lines in the VBS file by splitting the 17000lines VBS File into smaller Files
by loading the Functions and the Repositories in the Run Time Dynamically.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
