Cyclic Count in WM

Dear Team,
our Warehouse run the Physical inventory Count using LX26.
I can understand that before executing LX26,we need to execute
MIBC(ABC Analysis for Cyclic Counting).
Our System is Configured for A- 60% (to be counted 3 Times) ,B- 30% (to be counted 2 Times)
and C-10% (to be counted 1 Time).
I would Apperciate,if anyone can let me know how frequent MIBC and LX26 should be executed.
Would be great,if anyone can detail the Process.
Apperciating ur valuable inputs.
Regards
Zulfikar

Hi,
A physical inventory procedure in which materials are counted at regular intervals during a fiscal year.
These intervals, or cycles, depend on the cycle counting indicator set for the relevant material.
You can use the cycle counting approach to ensure that stocks of fast-moving items are checked more frequently than slow-moving items,

  • ABC analysis and cyclic inventory

    What is the relAtion between ABC indicators and CC indicators?Why do we need to run ABC analysis for cyclic inventory?Cant we randomly assign the CC indicators in MM02?

    Please see the below note
    What is A, B, C and D Indicator for a material for cyclic count?
    All the material may not be important for cyclic count purpose, it may be required to count
    some items frequently and some items rarely.
    A cyclic count indicator A or B or C or D is allocated to material in the material master
    based on either consumption value (consumption X rate) or forecast value
    (forecast quantity X rate).
    The item with more consumption value are classified as A, and with minimum as D.
    u201CAu201D indicator items will be counted frequently (say every month), D will be less frequently
    (say every 6 months or every one year). Daily a number of items will be taken for count, some
    may be with A indicator, some with B and so on.
    Mark all materials that are to be included in cycle counting with a cycle counting indicator
    in the material master record (storage data). The cycle counting indicator is used to group
    the materials together into various cycle counting categories (for example, A, B, C, and D).
    There is an option in SAP to have a fixed indicator for a material say A for a material which
    does not have a high consumption value but it is important to count it every month, then the
    material can be marked as A indicator in material master with indicator u201Cfixedu201D
    In Customizing OMCO, for Inventory Management, you can define for each category the time
    intervals at which the materials are to be counted.
    Fields : No. of phys. inventories per fiscal year for cycle counting
    For e.g. A - 12, B - 6, C - 3, D - 1
    Specifies how often during the fiscal year a physical inventory is to be carried out for a
    material subject to cycle counting.
    The system uses this specification to convert the count interval into workdays.
    Fields : Physical inventory interval (in workdays) for cycle counting
    For e.g. A = 12 times per year and your Total Factory Calendar days = 300
    The interval will be calculated as 300 / 12 = 25 days
    Specifies after how many workdays following the last inventory count another physical
    inventory has to be carried out for a given material.
    The count interval is determined automatically on the basis of the number of physical
    inventories specified for the fiscal year.
    Fields : Float time (in workdays) for cycle counting
    For e.g. A - 10, B - 20, C - 30, D - 0
    Indicates the number of workdays by which the planned count date may vary from the current
    date.
    For examples :-
    For the plant, the float time is five days.
    A physical inventory has been planned for a material belonging to category C for June, 1.
    On expiration of the float time (after June, 6), the physical inventory has not yet been
    carried out.
    Irrespective of the category, the material is parked for the next cycle counting run.
    Fields :- Percentage of performance measure for cycle counting ind.
    Specifies the percentage allocation of the materials to the individual cycle counting
    categories.
    The percentage value is used for automatic assignment of the cycle counting indicator.
    For example :-
    In the given plant, 200 materials are subject to the cycle counting physical inventory
    procedure.
    In Customizing for Inventory Management, the following percentage allocation has been defined
    for the plant:
    A materials: 50%
    B materials: 25%
    C materials: 15%
    D materials: 10%
                100%
    In the cycle counting analysis, the materials are sorted by consumption. After completion
    of the analysis, the cycle counting indicator is assigned as follows:
    The first 3 materials (sorted in descending order according to consumption) represent 50% of
    the consumption and have the indicator A.
    The next 12 materials represent 25% of the consumption and have the indicator B.
    The next 49 materials represent 15% of the consumption and have the indicator C.
    The remaining 136 materials represent the rest (10%) of the consumption and have the
    indicator D.
    Marking Materials for Cycle Counting
    This step is only required if you perform cycle counting for the first time or if you want
    to update the cycle counting indicators.
    In the material master record (storage data), maintain the cycle counting indicator for all
    the materials that are to be included in cycle counting.
    You can set the indicator in one of the following two ways:
    1. manually in the material master record. To do this, choose
       Material -> Change from the Material Master menu.
    2. automatically using ABC analysis To do this, choose
       Special procedures -> Cycle counting -> Set CC indicator from the Physical Inventory menu.

  • Problem with MICN(Physicall Inventory Document)

    Dear gurus,
    I Had a problem with MICN, when i proses it, it shows
    No session was created
    Message no. M7836
    How to solve it.
    Thx

    MICN - is used to generate physical inventory documents for all the materials having cyclic counting indicator.
    - Have you already maintained your cyclic counting profile in SPRO - OMCO
    - Have you assigned the cyclic counting indicator in material master. you can assign the indicatory manually in material master or automatically assign with MIBC if you are dealing with ABC materials.
    Note : MICN is used to generate the physical inventory documents, after you have the phy inv document, you have to follow the normal process of Mi04 and MI07 to post the differences

  • Materials and class type

    What are class A,B and class C materials?

    Hi,
    Indicators that classifies a material as an A, B, or C part according to its consumption value. This classification process is known as the ABC analysis.
    The three indicators have the following meanings:
    o A - important part, high consumption value
    o B - less important part, medium consumption value
    o C - relatively unimportant part, low consumption value
    Use
    You use this indicator to determine how the material is treated in the
    case of stratification during inventory sampling.
    All the material may not be important for cyclic count purpose, it may be required to count
    some items frequently and some items rarely.
    A cyclic count indicator A or B or C or D is allocated to material in the material master

  • Fixed date for inventory

    Hi all,
    For one plant there is a fixed date to run an inventory like à month of October. I need to change this, to run an inventory to day for example.
    Can you tell me how can i do ?
    Best regards

    Hi
    You mean you are using cyclic counting process for the material. Then check the settings in OMCO for plant.
    There is no specific time frame for carrying out physical inventory.
    Thanks

  • How do you cyclicly trigger data acquisition after n pulses counted

    Hello all, please forgive my ignorance because I am very new
    to lab view and data acquisition. I am working on a system which is going to
    scan an object and produce an image. The gimble that I am scanning the object
    with is an X-Y type of gimble with stepper motors on each axis. The stepper
    motor controller will output pulses real time to indicate the real time
    position of the gimble in each axis. What I need to be able to do is count
    pulses from the stepper motor controller and then output a trigger pulse to
    trigger the data acquisition in a buffered mode when N number of pulses have
    passed and then generate another pulse to stop the acquisition after another N
    number of pulses have passed. The controller puts out 10,000 pulses per degree
    of travel. The velocity that I am traveling at is 20 degrees per second, so
    timing here is really important. I need to be able to utilize the speed of the
    daq card and not so much the speed of the computer to iterate through a loop. I
    have tried using the count down feature in the NIDAQ MX library but it does not
    appear to be useful to me. I set it up and it will count down but once it hits
    zero it continues to count down. My expectation was that it would either
    restart the down count or it would stop. I was expecting some sort of trigger
    event to take place once the count reached the zero point but I did not observe
    any sort of event taking place. Once again my knowledge and background is
    really limited so I could be missing something really fundamental here. I have
    tried using some of the legacy functions which would enable me to do exactly
    what I want to do but they do not seem to work with my daq card. I have a NI
    PCI-6122 and if anyone has any knowledge on how to get this type of card to
    talk to some of the non MX functions I would be more than happy to hear how. It
    seems to me though, that I am limited to the MX functions which I can not
    really translate into what I have learned I can do with the legacy functions. I
    thank you all once again for taking the time to read this I and I will
    appreciate any and all responses that can be helpful.

    I have run a few more tests and obtained some data per the request of a telephone support engineer. I have some scope screen shots that might be able to shed some light on what is going on. I will provide a brief description of what I discovered before I show the resulting data. I discovered that using the number of up ticks and down ticks suggested does not yield the right timing for the clock pulses that I will need for triggering my data acquisition. When I use 55 low ticks and 2 high ticks as my settings I end up getting a pulse every 32 pulses read on the PFI line. I get the same results when I interchange the numbers, for example, when I set the program up for 2 low ticks and 55 high ticks I get the same resulting one clock pulse per 32 pulses on the PFI line. I started playing with the numbers and come to find that I was able to generate a pulse every 57 pulses in this setup. I set the high ticks to 2 and the low ticks to 71 and once I did that it generated a pulse every 57 pulses in. The results are not ideal though, a number of things happen within the first second of operation. One mode of operation the clock output pulse latches after a few pulses generated. Another mode of operation that I noticed was that it would generate n number of pulses and then just stop even though the program was still running. The results I am getting are not reproducible when it comes to the long-term operation of the clock pulse generation but the bottom line is not matter what happens the end result after 1 second is not what is expected. I will show below screen shots of my program and also scope shots for the respective modes of operation.
    Front End interface
    Block Diagram
    55 High ticks and 2 low ticks results
    55 low ticks and 2 high ticks results
    77 Low ticks and 2 high ticks results
    Undesired Latch after 1 second of operation
    N number of pulses generated and stopped while program was still running
     It appears the the long term operation (and when I say long term I mean after a second) is intermittent, it either latches high or low after a random number of pulses are generated on the clock output. I am not sure why this is happening. The one setup that I came up with that generates a pulse every 57 pulses is not going to work for the setup that I have I think I would have to reduce the 71 to 69 in order to compensate for the two pulses that happen while the output pulse of the clock is high. To be honest I have no idea what is going on and I am starting to wonder about my daq card. Being that it is not really reproducing the same results I am starting to think maybe something is wrong with it. Another possibility is that it might be the bnc 2110 that I am using. I will try another one tomarrow and see if this problem persisits. I am leaving now so I won't be able to try that as of yet but I wanted to pass this info and data along such that maybe you will notice something and be able to lead me in the right direction. Thank you again for all of your help.

  • What is a CRC Error Count in SMART Utility

    Ok...I've been having a massive beach balling problem, and was told by one of the fellow community members to DL a SMART Utility..which I did.
    My CRC Error Count is now starting to climb, and is up to 2289.  I also started with NO errors, and am now up to 12 errors, with the last error being "command aborted".  Help please!  I think my HD is failing, but SMART says no.

    Cyclic Redundancy Check  is a common technique for detecting data transmission errors.
    As long as you got your data backed up, you have nothing to worry about.
    TimeMachine on one powered external drive conected all the time and a Carbon Copy Clone on another disconnected and updated once a week is prefered.
    Format both external drives HFS+Journaled in Disk Utility.
    Your covered both from human errors and hardware failures as you can hold option key and boot off the clone.
    If your having problems you can try cleaning everything out of your caches and letting the computer rebuild itself.
    Downlaod and run ALL the cleaning and maintainece aspects of the FREE OnyX and reboot
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/
    Hold c and boot off the disk that comes with your comptuer and under the Utilities menu is Disk Utility
    Select your drive on the left and Repair Permisisons (ignore what you see)
    Then Repair Disk, if you get any errors here that are NOT repaired, then you got a issue with your drive.

  • Execution of ABC anlysis for cyclic inventory

    Im not able to run the ABC indicators for cyclic inventory.We configure it on the basis of consumption/usage.and take account of material consumption of MRP areas.The massge 'no analysis performed'is occuring.What is the reason?

    Hi,
    You can use the program ABC Cycle Counting Analysis (RMCBIN00) to perform an analysis. In this analysis, the system assigns the materials to the individual categories according to consumption or requirements. You can also specify whether this analysis is to consider only the materials with cycle counting indicator or all materials. The cycle counting indicator in the material master records can be updated automatically by this program. I hope this will help you.

  • Order of delivery schedule line counter at schedule agreements from MRP run

    Currently we are using schedule agreements for our long term external suppliers, but we are facing a problem with the order of new delivery schedule lines created during MRP run.
    Because of master data settings like, lot size, rounding value, plan delivery time and planning time fence to set as firm new requirements, multiple schedule lines are created with no order for schedule line counter.
    Does anyone is aware of a BADI, user exit or customizing control to have this schedule line counter in order?

  • Help Counting Vowels and Consonants using a class

    I'm currently working on a class project where I need take a user inputed string and count how many vowels and/or consonants are in the String at the user discretion. I have the main logic program working fine. However, the trouble I'm running into is how to take the string the user inputed and pass that data into the class method for counting.
    Here is the code for the program:
    package vowelsandconsonants;
    import java.util.Scanner;
    public class VowelConsCounter {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            String input; //User input
            char selection; //Menu selection
            //Create a Scanner object for keyboard input.
            Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in);
            //Get the string to start out with.
            System.out.print("Enter a string: ");
            input = keyboard.nextLine();
            //Create a VowelCons object.
            VowelCons vc = new VowelCons(input);
            do {
                // Display the menu and get the user's selection.
                selection = getMenuSelection();
                // Act on the selection
                switch (Character.toLowerCase(selection)) {
                    case 'a':
                        System.out.println("\nNumber of Vowels: " +
                                vc.getNumVowels());
                        break;
                    case 'b':
                        System.out.println("\nNumber of consonats: " +
                                vc.getNumConsonants());
                        break;
                    case 'c':
                        System.out.println("\nNumber of Vowels: " +
                                vc.getNumVowels());
                        System.out.println("Number of consonants: " +
                                vc.getNumConsonants());
                        break;
                    case 'd':
                        System.out.print("Enter a string: ");
                        input = keyboard.nextLine();
                        vc = new VowelCons(input);
            } while (Character.toLowerCase(selection) != 'e');
         * The getMenuSelection method displays the menu and gets the user's choice.
        public static char getMenuSelection() {
            String input;  //To hold keyboard input
            char selection;  // The user's selection
            //Create a Scanner object for keyboard input.
            Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in);
            //Display the menu.
            System.out.println("a) Count the number of vowels in the string.");
            System.out.println("b) Count the number of consonants in the string.");
            System.out.println("c) Count both the vowels and consonants in the string.");
            System.out.println("d) Enter another string.");
            System.out.println("e) Exit the program.");
            //Get the user's selection
            input = keyboard.nextLine();
            selection = input.charAt(0);
            //Validate the input
            while (Character.toLowerCase(selection) < 'a' ||
                    Character.toLowerCase(selection) > 'e') {
                System.out.print("Only enter a,b,c,d or e:");
                input = keyboard.nextLine();
                selection = input.charAt(0);
            return selection;
    class VowelCons {
        private char[] vowels;
        private char[] consonants;
        private int numVowels = 0;
        private int numCons = 0;
        public VowelCons(String str) {
        public int getNumVowels() {
            return numVowels;
        public int getNumConsonants() {
            return numCons;
        private void countVowelsAndCons() {
            for (int i = 0; i < total; i++) {
                char ch = inputString.charAt(i);
                if ((ch == 'a') || (ch == 'A') || (ch == 'e') || (ch == 'E') || (ch == 'i') || (ch == 'I') || (ch == 'o') || (ch == 'O') || (ch == 'u') || (ch == 'U')) {
                    numVowels++;
                } else if (Character.isLetter(ch)) {
                    numCons++;
    }The UML given to me by my instructor calls for the counting method to be private. Being that I'm not too familiar with Java syntax I did not know if that may cause a problem with passing the user's input into that method.

    Well the only compilers i get are due to the code:
    private void countVowelsAndCons() {
            for (int i = 0; i < total; i++) {
                char ch = inputString.charAt(i);
                if ((ch == 'a') || (ch == 'A') || (ch == 'e') || (ch == 'E') || (ch == 'i') || (ch == 'I') || (ch == 'o') || (ch == 'O') || (ch == 'u') || (ch == 'U')) {
                    numVowels++;
                } else if (Character.isLetter(ch)) {
                    numCons++;
        }However, that is due to the fact that i have no data for those variables to use. I'm pretty much stuck on how to get the string the user inputs into that method shown above so the code can perform the task of counting the vowels and consonants.
    If i comment out the code within that function the program compiles and will allow me to enter the string and use the options but since i can't figure out how to pass the input to the counting method the program returns 0 for everything.

  • How to count number of Characteristics' with the same value?

    Hello, Everybody,
    In InfoCube I have data:
    person ID (characteristic), points (key figure), gendre (characteristic), org.unit (characteristic)
    1313; 10; F;5001
    1313; 10; M;5001
    1313; 12; F;5001
    1313; 6; M;5001
    1515;20;F;5001
    Report,  with data from this InfoCube, should look like this:
    org.unit/number of employees, 6 points, 10 points, 12 points, 20 points
    5001, 1, 2, 1, 1
    Could you give me a suggestion how I can count the number of employees?
    Thanks in advance!
    Best Regards,
    Arunas Stonys

    Arunas,
    you can crate 4 CKF one each for employee points, and in each of the CKY have a data function value =1 if <your condition is satisfied>. This way the CKY will have a value of 1 if point is 6 for the first CKY and similarly for the rest and use exception aggregation based on person ID to count the no. of employees with that particular point in the Org unit. Use org unit in the rows and these 4 CKY in the columns and you should be able to get the report.
    hope this helps.

  • After using "consolidate library" to move my media to a NAS the items counts do not match.  How do I find what is different the easiest way??

    I wanted to move my itunes media on my imac to a NAS drive.  I used the advance preferences to change the folder to the folder on the NAS.  I then went to the "organize library" setting to consolidate.
    When I compare the two folders, the music folders are different (807 items in the old to 798 items in the new), mobile applications are different (143 in the old to 153 in the new), Movies are different (321 items in the old, 324 in the new).
    I think I already had the entire folder organized the way itunes wanted it.  I'm not sure why the count would increase or to easily make sure I'm not missing any info.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Actually, a little off on the situation as I originally described.
    Compared the old items counts to the new item counts:
    1. The music folder increased in item counts.
    2.  Books is identical.
    3.  Mobile apps decreased by 10 on the new.
    4.  Movies decreased by 3.
