Czech language in iWorks

Why I can not set Czech language for spelling in Pages? I was of the opinion, that as Lion supports Czech language, it should be possible.

That's not correct, the languages available for spell checking are different than those available for OS localization. You may be able to add a czech dictionary from another source. See

Hi pascaldu,
Did you choose Czech as the language for OCR? If not, please follow these steps:
Choose File > Save as Other > Microsoft Word > Word Document in Acrobat.
Click Settings at the bottom of the Save As dialog box.
Click Set Language.
Choose Czech from the Primary OCR pop-up menu, and then click OK.
Click OK again, and then click Save.

Bug in T9 dailer for czech language

Hi here,
I have Z3 Compact for some time, there is still issue I reported like 2 years ago, when using T9 Dailer, the number 8 do not include char "ů", all other chars is correct, but not the one I mentioned... I do not belive, this is so big issue to fix.
Firmware: 23.0.A.2.93
Also I will love to contact someone, who can answer me, or give me contact to some devs, I can speak with about this. I reported this bug like 2 years ago, in time I use Xperia S, here is thread:

How to add closed captioning in Czech language in Premiere Pro?

Hi,
I have subtitles translated to Czech language.
Copying them into closed captions blocks, result in showing some of the characters wrong.
I am stuck!!!
Any solution?

This is just unbelievable.
So much struggle with those closed captions. So many hours of try and error, ending up with more error than not.
I followed all the instructions to embed closed captions in 2 different QuickTime output files.
One video shows the captions, the other shows it inconsistently. When it does show the closed captions, it skips the first sentence's caption.
Also, I used 2 colors in order to distinguish between the speech of the 2 characters who talk in the video. However, the colors do not always display accordingly.
Very often it shows the shows only one color or the opposite to my specification.
For the problematic video out of the 2, I have been trying almost all of the format presets available.
Terrible !!!!!

Unicode convertion for Czech Language

Hi all,
my system is not unicode and I have to conver it into a unicode one because we are going to plan a roll-out project for our czech branch. We have an ECC5.0 with English, German, Italian and Spanish languages.
I have understood, more or less, what we have to do in a technical way, but I would like to know something more about the growing of hardware space needs.
how much will my system grow reasonably after uniocde conversion and czech language installation? 10%, 20%?

Czech language support in Acrobat OCR

Hi, When I try to perform OCR after scanning a document written in Czech language, OCR does not recognise it. Is there any Czech language add-on or plug-in for Acrobat? I am using Acrobat Pro 6.0. Thanks!

before I wrote this posting there has been a whole lot of testing here. The situation in short words: I've created PDFs containing Japanese characters in Illustrator and in InDesign. Here on my PC I've not been able to copy/paste (e.g. to Word) any characters from the Illustrator PDF, that were created using OTF fonts and converted to "Type 1 CID/Identity H" fonts. A similar file created in InDesign worked without problems.
There have been a lot of strange things happening I was, for example, able to copy the characters in question (Illustrator PDF, OTF fonts) from Acrobat Pro on my Mac and paste them into Word (Windows) running in a Parallels VM. I could NOT do this within Windows from A3D to Word.
After sending my test PDFs to the German FrameUser mailing list, I got a response from one person (as noted above). And: after installing the Japanese Reader fonts, I suddenly was able to copy the characters within Windows. There must be something that has changed. Copying the characters over to Mac ceased to work in this moment, but has worked before. So the Reader font installation seems to do more than just install fonts although I don't know what it could be.

Czech Language available with BO?

Could anyone please let me know that is there any guideline to include Czech langauge in Business objects.
Specifically to see the infoview GUI in Czech language which is not possible in BOXIR2 as well as in BOXIR3.0 because it is not supported with both the versions according to the supported platform guide.

SMLT -- Czech Language Import -- .PAT files

Dear Support,
We are planning to import/add a new Czech Language into our ECC 60 system.
When I called the SMLT transaction to import the language from FrontEnd, the system is not finding the content from the CD 51033496_1. The CD has .PAT files instead of .sar or .car files.
I have also copied the .PAT file onto /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in, but still the SMLT tool is not finding the language content to import.
Could you please help me out with this issue?

SMLT displays only the languages for which the current (SAP Basis) release has been imported. This makes sense because otherwise, the system would also display the language imports for the previous release after an upgrade. The problem now occurs because the systems that have an Enhancement Package imported the same language packages as the systems that do not have an Enhancement Package even though the release is different. For example, the SAP Basis 7.00 language package is imported into an SAP Basis 7.01 system. Since the releases do not correspond, the system does not display the language package in SMLT.To correct the error, SMLT must recognize an Enhancement Package release and the release check for this must be configured in a more flexible way

Manage languages on iWork

I've been trying to fix some language issues I have on Pages '09 (on Keynote and on Numbers as well) because I work with different languages, depending on the document.
My MacBook Pro has set English as the default language and everything is displayed in English. But when I work in an other language on Pages (basically) I don't know how to set the language I'm going to work in when I open a new document or something. I could change each style to the wanted language but it would take so much time and I should do this each time I open a new document and need to work in a different language.
I also need to know how to mark the "Auto Capitalization" button but to perform just after a "." and not when I type the letter "i" when I'm not writing in English, because one of the languages I use the most in my documents is Catalan, and "i" means "and" not "I", which is "jo" fyi.
Finally, I'd like to know how to set the DIN-A4 size as default in all the default templates, since I never print on US Letter size. Otherwise I need to go to "page settings" each time I create a new document.
I'm sort of new to the iWork thing and I'm still learning how to move around so this question may be stupid, but I've tried and I haven't succeeded! hahaha
To sum up, I need to know how to:
Set a default language for Pages '09 (independently on the language I have set on my MacBook Pro)
Omit the "i" to "I" auto-capitalization when I'm not using English
Set DIN-A4 as the default size

Actually I made a mistake Catalan was also included in OSX 10.6.8.
You can switch your Input Source using command space and option command space.
However you need to understand that in Pages and elsewhere in OSX, languages are attributes of the text just like being bold, or red or in Times New Roman.
You can rapidly change all your styles in a document by just typing a series of words separated by returns.
Click on each in turn to apply all the styles in the Styles Drawer. Now select all the text and set the language in:
Inspector > Text > More > Language > click on each style in turn and update it via the red arrow next to it in the Styles Drawer > Save as Template
In your case there is no Catalan dictionary but you may be able to use the Español option and add the Catalan exceptions, using learn in the Spell Checker.
You are also supposed to be able to add the open language dictionaries from OpenOffice:

What did you do in school?
The "something" is Latin and is a placeholder, just filler text which is replaced when you select it and type. As is explained in the manual and tutorials available under the Help menu,
