Did you read the Wiki entry?
You use xorg 1.12, fglrx does not support it (yet). In the wiki there is a link to an extra repo with an old xorg version. And you better use directly the catalyst repo mentioned there instead of... yeah whatever you are doing now (suspecting you are not using it). It will handle all the dependencies for you.
Good luck

Not all plugins support 64 bit and if not then you need to start Firefox in 32 bit mode to use that plugin.
    # Close Firefox
    # Start the Finder and open the Applications folder
    # Right click or control-click the Firefox.app icon
    # Select "Get Info"

    Ricky,
You have to add the weblogic JARs to the classpath of the wlserver task.
add something similar to the following (bold text are additions):
    <path id="classpath.weblogic">
    <fileset dir="c:/bea/weblogic81/server/lib">
    <include name="weblogic_sp.jar" />
    <include name="weblogic.jar" />

  • Why does Firefox performance slow down after starting Jack server?

    Hello,
I started configuring my audio on my system. So, I want to have jack working (not jack2, to work with wineasio) with best sound quality with all sound routed through jack. When i start jack server with this command and settings:
    killall jackd;killall pulseaudio;jackd -R -t 1000 -d alsa -P hw:0,0 -r 48000 -n2 -D
Firefox slows down, opens new pages slow and the scroll down is very very slow. I had this issue with other distros too. I suspect that it has to do with realtime ( which i need for my audio related apps like traktor through wine, ardour, ableton through wine etc) without being sure about it. Any idea why this is happening?

zabrielza wrote:I had this issue with other distros too.
This smells like hardware problem. Do this:
    1. Kill pulseaudio, jack, and make sure they are killed
    2. Make sure you do not renice anything or apply other such tweaks
    3. Run jackd -d alsa
    4. Use your system
    5. If unsatisfactory, try jackd -d alsa -p 1024 -n 3
    6. Use your system
Jack runs with realtime priority by default (no flag required), and we still use the audio group to provide that privilege. I also do not advocate the realtime kernel, but you may try it. Jack not functioning well (i.e. hampering other tasks significantly) on a standard kernel is cause for concern.
You can read/grep your dmesg and systemd journal for suspicious messages. You may try running real-time audio tasks in another operating system with your hardware, and upon success may proceed to debug the problem on Linux, possibly with the help of the alsa developers.
Or better yet, grab a supported semi-pro external audio device if jack is important for you. However, this may not help if the problem is somewhere deeper, e.g. at the hardware interrupt level.

  • No contact with DHCP server when using VPN Client

Pretty weird problem I discovered recently.
We use the VPN Client to connect to a 1841 router. Everything works fine except for one small thing.
The client do not send out _any_ traffic if the destination is the ip-address of the DHCP-server the client got its original ip-address from.
This is verified by Wireshark. A ping on the client do not produce any ESP packets towards the VPN concentrator. No matter what traffic you try actually.
Discovered this when wanting to use Remote Desktop towards the Windows Server that is the local DHCP server and was not able to connect. Then tested ping and still no response. That made me look closer and found out that I could not communicate at all with the DHCP server.
    As I said, pretty weird.
Anyone else have seen this? Anyone have a solution? Right now I use OpenVPN instead when I need to control that server.
    - Roger

    Hi and thanks for responding.
Nothing here apart from being unable to send any packets to the dhcp-server. No problem sending to any other system on the same subnet. The same happens when I connect my pc to another subnet that is served by another dhcp-server. Then I can not connect to _that_ dhcp-server. I can then of course connect to the previous dhcp-server.
I mean _no_ packets are generated out the client at all if the destination are your dhcp-server. No problem with the packet being blocked by a firewall or anything like that. Ping another system on the same subnet as the dhcp-server and the client happily generates ESP packets and sends them to the vpn-concentrator.
I do not know if it was clear enough in the first post so I am saying it here: the vpn-concentrator gives out the ip for the vpn connection. The dhcp-server I can not connect to is the server that gives the client its ip-address _before_ starting up the vpn client.
We use this vpn system so the IT personell will be able to connect to restricted resources from their laptops anywhere in the network, also when using wireless.
This was discovered when one admin wanted to connect from his laptop to a server that also happened to be the dhcp-server that had given his laptop his ip address before he used vpn.
Should be easy enough for anyone else to test. Just ping your dhcp-server after starting the vpn connection. No RFC 1918 addresses of course, there must be a route from your vpn-concentrator to your dhcp-server and at least icmp echo must be open through any firewall/acl.
The vpn version is 4.8.00.0440 on Windows XP configured to not allow local LAN access. I might test this with other versions/OS'es when I have the time.

  • Yahoo sent mail not saved to server when using Mail only.

Why does my Yahoo sent mail not get saved to the server when I use Apple's Mail program? (I have it saved in settings to keep sent mail on server).  I can see it in my Sent mail folder on Apple Mail but not on the yahoo server.  It's an IMAP account and it works fine on my iPhone.
I have tried changing the outgoing ports as well and erasing the account and reinstating it on the Mail program. No luck.

    This worked for me:

This solved my questionRe: Yahoo Mail folder behaviour with Apple Mail 5.0
Dec 8, 2011 5:14 PM (in response to ernestobenedict)
I finally figured out how to fix this; under the mailbox menu there is an option to "use this mailbox for" that allowed me to select the Sent Items folder from my Yahoo IMAP list of folders and make it the default for sent items from the Mac OS X mail software! "
Thanks to ernestobenedict for this solution!!!

  • Problem-Starting InDesign Server for use with CORBA / Java and IOR file not generated

I'm trying to start Indesign Server cs3 for use with Corba, as per the document the server should generate the start-up message like this..
    InDesignServer -iorfile c:\ior.txt -pluginpath Server\Corba
[server] Writing IOR to ... and it should generate the IOR file
but I'm getting the usual start-up message and the IOR file is not generated, I hope IOR file is required for Java component interaction with IDS, kindly help me to solve this.
    Thanks in advance.

[From Susan Doan, who is having trouble posting to the forum today}:
It looks like the example command line in the "Intro to InDesign Server" pdf is using curly quotes instead of straight quotes. If you copy the command from the pdf and paste it in your command shell, it won't work because of the curly quotes.
You can run the command without the quotes as Rich has said, but, as will all command lines, if your path contains a space, you will need to put quotes (straight ones!) around the path.
    Thanks,
    Ole

  • No route to openvpn server when using networkmanager and wireless

Since some weeks I can not connect to openvpn networks via WIFI when using the networkmanager. Connecting manually there is no problem.
When I connect my laptop via LAN (enp0s25) and establish an openvpn connection everything works as expected:
    [me@laptop ~]$ ip route show
default via 10.101.2.173 dev tun0 proto static metric 1024
10.101.2.173 dev tun0 proto kernel scope link src 10.101.2.174
172.17.2.0/24 dev enp0s25 proto kernel scope link src 172.17.2.25
172.17.2.0/24 dev enp0s25 proto kernel scope link src 172.17.2.25 metric 203
    xxx.xx.xx.xxx via 172.17.2.1 dev enp0s25 proto static metric 1
When connecting to the internet via WIFI (wlp3s0) the VPN connection is established but there is no route to the VPN server:
    [me@laptop~]$ ip route show
default via 10.101.2.173 dev tun0 proto static metric 1024
10.101.2.173 dev tun0 proto kernel scope link src 10.101.2.174
172.17.2.0/24 dev wlp3s0 proto kernel scope link src 172.17.2.38
When I add the route manually everything works fine:
ip route add xxx.xx.xx.xxx via 172.17.2.1 dev wlp3s0 proto static metric 1
    Any ideas?

There are two problems here. The first is a firewall problem. Although the Open MQ port mapper running on port 7676 wasn't being blocked, the port that mq tcp port was. I was able to solve this by creating an ssh tunnel and specifying a mqtcp connection.
"Table 18–2 Message Broker Addressing Schemes"
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-4916/6ngbm6hp4?a=view#gbnnt
f.setProperty(ConnectionConfiguration.imqAddressList,"mqtcp://" + host + ":32782/jms");This solution is less than ideal, since the mq tcp port can change. In fact, if you reference the original post, you can see it has already changed on me. I could write code to determine what the port is and create my own tunnel, but that doesn't seem worth the effort just yet.
The second problem is the lack of helpful error message. It's the sort of problem where you can't really blame any one party too much. Open MQ and Java are both just reporting the error message that they are given by the operating system. They should do a bit more than that.

  • [Slvd] What to restart after system upgrade? When to restart X server?

    Hi all,
After a system upgrade, what should be restarted? The following actions I know about:
    kernel (linux): reboot
daemon (sshd, cups, iptables, etc.): rc.d restart ...
application (fvwm, mutt, etc.): restart application
But what will require restarting X server?  Can the current X server continue to run after upgrading one the following:
    1. xorg-server
    2. libx11 or other libraries xorg-server depends on
    3. anything else?
I want to keep the system up-to-date but avoid restarting the X server to maintain my X session (>100 windows carfully spread and grouped over 22 workspaces).  Unfortunately, there is no xsm anymore and, no, I don't like gnome/kde/thelike.
    Thanks,
    Daan

    A useful command is:
    lsof | grep 'DEL.*lib'
I put this line in a script called stalelibs. Helps to see which services should be restarted. Or whether I'll just take the easy option and reboot :)
    This is very helpful!
Also, in the link that you sent it is explained why programs don't break when their shared libraries are removed:
Existing programs (that are already loaded) have pointers to the old version, as Naib says, in RAM as code or an inode location as a file handle to the deleted version. Once all handles are gone/programs terminated, the file will then truly be "removed" from the disk and space reclaimed. Until then you'll see shared libraries still eating disk space and RAM, despite them being removed.
This is why it's good to reboot the machine after certain upgrades such as libc, so programs like init can pick up a new copy of libc.
@brebs: Thanks for the great contribution!
