D-LED2 - Where do I stick the temperature detection head?

Hi Guys
Still puting together my i7 system below.  Can somebody please tell me where the best place would be to stick the TEMPERATURE DETECTION HEAD component of the D-LED2 system.  Obviously it will be used to monitor the CPU temp, but where do I put it ? on my thermalright extreme 120 cpu cooler ? If so, whereabouts ...
A drawing / indication would help thanks.  Here is the latest pic:

It doesn't really matter where you put it.  It is more or less a diagnostic device to discover hot spots in your system.  Put it whereever you like to put it.  The Processor has internal digital sensors within each Core.  You can't really beat those readings with that additional thermal sensor (no matter where you put that thing).

    Solved!

    Hi,
In general you don't need "user32.h" because the functions are declared in Winuser.h (you should include Windows.h).
Otherwise, if you need user32.h only, then you can get this file together with Debugging Tools
After install you will get this file at C:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows\winext\manifest\user32.h

  • Where can I find the pocket detection feature?

Since the upgrade, I keep forgetting my phone doesn't turn off when I put it in my pocket.  I keep butt dialing people, and now I cant find the setting to turn off when i put the phone in my pocket!! Any help???
Also- Is is possible to forward a text thread as a whole communication to email for storage? Or do you have to select each email and copy and paste...which is a huge waste of time.
    Thanks

        Hi lp23088,
I also have the Droid Razr and I can relate to your concerns. It is normal for all phones to function a bit different after a major software update. I recommend locking your screen before you put it in your packet by pressing the power button to avoid any unwanted dialing.
I'm not aware of any way to forward a text message thread for storage; however, I recommend running a google search for such function as you may find a 3rd party application capable of doing it.

  • Where do I find the ni488.h header file requiredby MS Visual C/C++?

MS Visual C/C++ requires the header file ni488.h instaed of the decl-32.h file. I have been unable to locate this on our PC, the NI0488.2 install CD-ROM, or the NI web pages. Can anyone help me?

    Try
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-488.2\Languages\Microsoft C
It is placed there by the NI-488.2 Setup program when you install the
Language Support - Microsoft C/C++ feature.
If you can't find the files, rerun the setup and verify that the correct
features are installed. Look at the attached screenshot.

  • D-LED 2 Temperature Detection - Type of Tape to Attach Thermistor

I have not connected the temperature detection wire to the D-LED 2 or to the heat sink on my system because I am not sure what kind of tape I should use.
Looking at the picture in the User Guide for the D-LED 2, the tape looks like normal transparent Scotch tape; however, I am reluctant to use it given the temperature that might be encountered and the tape melting.
Maybe I should use black electrical tape but I know that it is not very adhesive unless stretched and applied firmly.
Perhaps someone has a good recommendation for me.

    Frayed,
Thanks for the info I tried it but it didn't work.
First, I cleared CMOS via jumper and then returned the jumper to it's orginal location.  Then I followed your suggestion about the insert key, NADA, no change.  I held the insert key in on first bootup attempt and on every subsequent attempt, with about a 5 to 10 second delay between attempts, a total of 30 times.
I'll keep your idea in the back of my head  for when (or if) I ever get this thing to boot to bios.
I did notice one thing that I forgot to mention in my original post.  On bootup the d-led's go to RRRG, then briefly (I'm talking like 1/2 a sec, tops) to RGRG, then goes to RRRG and remains there.  Also, the keyboard lights never flicker during POST, should they when POST initializes the keyboard controller?
Sent off an e-mail to MSI Tech Support, here's what they sent back:
"If you have tested the system with only minimal components installed and the system still will not post, try testing the system outside of the case to verify that the motherboard is not shoring to the case and causing a problem.  Place the motherboard on a non-conductive surface with only the CPU w/heatsink, one stick of memory, and video card installed and retest the system.  If the problem persists, try testing the system with different components or test your components on another system if possible to verify that one of the components is not causing a problem.  If the system still will not boot to a display and allow you to enter the BIOS, there maybe a problem with your motherboard that will require RMA service. "
So that's my next step, un-casing the mobo and trying to bootup following the above tips from MSI.  If it works, has anybody ever heard of or tried having a non-conductive plastic/rubber washer superglued to the top of the brass mobo mounting terminals?  If I'm starting to sound desperate, there's a good reason for it!!
Thanx to all who have posted replies, keep 'em coming people!!!

Try to do a hard reboot (no data is lost) by holding down the home and power buttons at the same time untilyou see the Apple logo. Then, let go of both buttons. If that doesn't work, try restoring your iPod and do NOT restore from a backup. This will erase your data, but you can sync back everything except app data and settings from iTunes.

'Remote' app requirements are stated as "software version 3.1.3 or later". I am running 4.2.1 and when I try to download it says 4.3 required.
OK, I understand that new versions make use of facilities that come with new versions of IOS, but there is/was a version that runs on 3.1.3 and therefore, I assume 4.2.1. Where can I get the (old) version that runs on my IOS?
The app store seems to ignore all legacy equipment owners, and want me to spend loadsa money to get the latest shiny toy. It probably makes business sense, but I dislike companies that take that approach. This is my first venture into smart phones, and I like the IOS interface, but I'm not sure I can afford the maintenance.

This is standard for Apple.  While there is little official mention of the software support lifespan for equipment, typical support has been about 4-5 years for computers.  It strikes me that newer items, especially mobile devices, are not built as sturdily nor do they have the hardware upgrade capabilities required to keep up with newer systems.  When we bought an iPhone 4S we were told by the person in the store we'd probably be looking at a newer model in two years.  The iPhone 3G could be anywhere from 2 to 4 years old, putting it well into.
As for app availability, Apple typically pulls old software versions from its site when new versions appear.  If it is a non-Apple app then I guess it is up to the vendor. It is indeed tiresome but it is not at all unusual.  Since I only ever run used Macs, I download current versions even though my computer won't run them, stick them on a hard drive, then I have them when I upgrade to a newer used computer.  If you run older equipment you have to learn a different mode of operation to exist with the Apple 'new and innovative' but 'forget about the old' philosophy.

  • Where can I find the Java SE 6 runtime download so I can get Adobe Photoshop CS5 up and running again.

Where can I find the Java SE 6 runtime download so I can get Adobe Photoshop CS5 up and running again. I have to go this route. Currently on my Mac, I need to be running Java 7.65 for work-related stuff. I went to the Java site, but could not find anything that simply says "Java SE 6 runtime" ... Or, is there another way to get CS5 up and running with my recent Yosemite download?

No, I can't go that route. I have to stick with my current Java 7.65 ... Our IT department said just to download SE6 Runtime separately ... If I was understanding that correctly. Or, can you have two different versions of Java running ... 6 ... and 7.65?

  • Where can I buy the navigation joystick for zen

Mine is broken in half today..and it's a month out of warranty. A bit disappointed here, the player is just 4 months old and the stick is broke in half already. Anyway...does anyone here know where I can get the part? Or if anyone got just?the navigation joystick for sale? As long the price is reasonable I'll buy it.
    Thank you!

    esr26,
You should still be within the warranty for parts(that's 2 months if you bought the player in the US.) but you may need to pay for some labour charges if I'm not wrong. Perhaps you should contact Customer Support first and see if they can assist you further.

  • Where do I hide the color in form fields in Acrobat DC?

Where do I hide the blue color in form fields in Acrobat DC?

    Hello Jeady,
George's JavaScript suggestion is a good answer.
You can also turn on form field highlighting via a menu item as you could via the button in the blue bar in Acrobat XI.
In Acrobat DC, do the following:
    1. Open your form.
    2. Select the Prepare Form tool.
    3. In the right-hand pane Prepare Forms tools, click the dropdown for More.
    4. On the More menu, select "Highlight Existing Fields" to toggle the setting.
The setting sticks until changed for all forms open in Acrobat.

  • Where can I get the source for boot of netinstall CD

Sorry for the title, I wasn't able to write it out fully due to length constraints.
So in an attempt to fix https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=139659 on my own, I thought I'd go and look at what the install CD does as it is booting up the version of Linux found on the netinstall CD.  It first creates a Linux environment where you can then run AIF.  I mounted and looked through the .iso of the installer that I used, but I couldn't find any useful config files for the boot process, so I'm thinking that it is in a binary form. I found the AIF source code, but that is for after the system boots up from the CD, and my problem happens before then.
So where can I get the source code for the live CD portions that *aren't* AIF?

It's a hybrid ISO, with a filesystem and a MBR slapped onto it which you can either write to a CD or "dd" to a HDD or USB stick.
The bootloader is called ISOLINUX (which is part of the Syslinux project). You can find the "boot" files in the "isolinux" folder. For studying ISOLINUX itself, you have to shimmy on over to the Syslinux website. It's an awesome project. I ditched GRUB 2 for it and now use it as my primary bootloader. Much, much easier to work with.
