D-leds just blinking FAST, no boot!

Hi!
I have a MSI 815EPT PRO system, P3 server 1.4GHz processor, 384MB PC-150 SDRAM. All things (mobo, processor and memory) worked fine together(tried with my old PSU)  before building the computer into the chassis. Now when all other parts (DVD-ROM, HDD and PCI graphics card (yes, just trying with an old one ) have been installed, system refuses to boot, just blinking fast (5 times/sec) all d-leds + memory led + HDD and power led front panel lights. There's also strange knocking noise - in the exactly same tempo as lights are blinking (synchronized) New power is Nexus supersilent 350W. What could be a reason?
I found a similar problem here in MSI forum, bu the question was unresolved.
Please HELP!!!

new case
did you check all the stand offs
sure you never left an extra one under the board ?

No, i do not have one readily available as of yet.  I am looking for things i can troubleshoot before i spend limited funds on a new ps.  I am aware this may not be possible and i may have no choice but to get another one.  I would hate to buy a ps and find out its the mainboard.
You have to swap either PSU or mainboard to findout. You can borrow a PSU from friends to test.

  • WRT54GP2 not working - Power LED blinking fast.

My WRT54gp2 has been working without issues for 2 years. All of a sudden from yesterday, the power LED is blinking fast. I am not able to connect to the web interface. My computer says limited or no connectivity. The internet and WAN LED are steadily lit. Has anyone faced this issue ? Is my router brick now ?

As the power light on the router is blinking..It means that the firmware of router is corrupted..Check this link to unbrick the router.

  • MacBook Pro won't turn on after crash. Magsafe charger LED light blinking rapidly

Hi. I hope you can help me.
I have a macbook Pro 13", from september 2012, which crashed earlier today:
I was charging my iphone through USBport on my macbook (not an Apple USB-iPhone power-cable) .
My MacBook was charging through the magsafe charger (about 30% power i think).
I took the phone out to make a call, when that was done, I reconnected the phone to my mac for further charging.
My MacBook crashed instantly. I took out the USB cable, tried to turn on my mac, but nothing happened. There was no light in the magsafe LED.
The crashing has happened before, when I've been charging my phone through USB connections, but I've always been able to turn my mac back on.
This time nothing happened when I pushed the power button. It had comepletely shorted out.
BTW. Earlier today I received a "storage almost full" warning on my mac, and I was actually in the middle of cleaning that up (deleting downloads and trash files).
    Typical and just my luck!
Now, a few hours later, I tried restoring SMC (shift+ctrl+alt+power), and now the charger LED is blinking rapidly (but faintly) orange.
Do you have any ideas on how to fix this? All applestores nearby are closed today, I live in Denmark.
Thank you so much in advance!
    Kind regards Emilie

    Try the SMC reset again:
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
    Then try a NVRAM reset:
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063
    Then try a safe boot:
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262
If no success, then you will have to take it in for service.
    Ciao.

  • Harddisk LED continously blinking

    Hi
My Harddisk LED is blinking about once every second. This is not really a critical problem, but it's just annoying me cause it's clearly too often.
I read the topic https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=765666 but none of the suggested worked here.
Can't identify a process with iotop and vmstat does not notice these accesses either.
Further I have noatime and now even commit=60 in my fstab.
I tried to stop all daemons, exept network and ssh I need to connect, and stopped X but it had no effect. Lastly I killed systemd-udevd, without effect.
I use ext4, this may be the problem ?
Here's my "normal" ps ax (with daemons etc.):

Unfortunately, no luck. I tried what you suggested:
iotop -Pao doesn't register these flickers.
It shows jbd2/sda3-8 but not that often, I would say it's fine.
It's only a very short flickering, I can't hear anything. So, I don't know if there's really something written...
I tried removing defaults first and even put barriers=0 in but it had no effect...
    Dunno, it's strange...
here ps ax w/o daemons etc... (exept ssh and network i need)

  • Qosmio X500 won't start and the power LED is blinks every 5 seconds

    Hi,
I need help my X500 won't start now. I tried to start the NB as usual and suddenly the X500 wont boot or even power up.
If I press power button it doesnt make any sound, the power LED on button and the second power LED just bliks once and turns of, and keep blinking every 5 seconds.
    I tried to:
    * remove battery and power up with AC only
    * power with battery only
    * remove battery hold power button for 30 seconds and more athen power with AC only, battery only
    but it didn't helped.
I checked the AC & Battery LEDs, but they are not flashing, they are just RED, so there is not proble in battery or AC.
Any idea where could be the problem?
    Thanks for help

    how do you solve it

  • IPod Shuffle (2nd Gen) not charging, just blinks orange once.

    Hi,
I was using this iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen for almost 4 years without any problem, After I got iPod Touch 4G a year back, I stopped using shuffle for almost a year. When I looked at it recently, of course, to give it to my niece - it's not responding. Thinking that battery drained, I tried to charge the shuffle using the then supplied USB doc.
When connected it just blinked orange once - only once that's it. Nothing happend. Even after keeping it for a whole night, nothing happend. It doesn't play, iTunes won't recognize, but windows 7 says "USB Device not recognized", and it was showed under Generic USB Hub as "Unknown Device"
I used USB 2.0 port back of my computer.
Tried using 3rd gen shuffle charging cable, but this time not even the orange blink.
Tried suggested resetting option (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655), but invain.
    Any suggestions?

    If you do
Apple Menu -> About This Mac -> More Info -> System Report
to run System Information (or System Profiler), does the "iPod" appear as a connected device under
    Hardware -> USB
Try doing the above with the shuffle connected directly AND using the power USB hub you mentioned.
Have you tried connecting something else to that USB port, to confirm it is working properly?  Preferably, it should be something similar, like a USB flash drive or port-powered external drive (data storage devices that get power from the USB port).
Two other related tests...  Create a new user account in System Preferences Users & Groups pane.  The new user account can be Standard or Admin.  Log out and log in to the new user account (do not use Fast User Switching).  In the new user account, run iTunes and connect the shuffle.
And the other test.  Start up in Safe Mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564
Connect the shuffle while started up in safe mode, to see if it appears anywhere.  These two test are to see if you have a process running when you start up normally, that interferes with the iPod being recognized.

  • Hp pavillion dv7-3065 laptop will not turn on - led light blinks, ac's light on?

HP Pavillion dv7-3065 with Windows 7.
I fell asleep two days ago, and when I woke up yesterday, my laptop was off. (The battery very well may have died while I was sleeping, or just shut off on its own. I don't know which.) I tried turning it on, but nothing happened... except for the lightning bolt (LED light) blinking three times. No noises inside, blank screen, nothing aside those three blinks.
For the record, I've already tried removing the battery. I've also tried removing the battery, removing the AC cord, and holding in the power button for 30+ seconds. It didn't work.
I've tried removing the battery and running off AC. This still doesn't work. However, the laptop recognizes that it's plugged in; the little light by it is consistantly on. I've also tested my laptop with another AC adapter just to be safe. Nothing.
My laptop has been tested without harddrive/etc, but I'm still at a blank. I don't know what else to do. My boyfriend, who's in school to be an IT, took it into his teacher, who messed around with it, and came up with a few conclusions.
He believes that because the lights are flashing, he's confidant that my motherboard is fine. He said to replace the battery, and if that doesn't work, solder the ...I forgot what exactly, but basically it's the charging connection. I forget what exactly. My apologies there.
However... I feel like replacing the battery would be a waste of money... Because regardless of battery, the laptop should still turn on with the AC cord. My boyfriend intends to bring this up and ask if he can just skip to the other thing anyway, but he doesn't have that class again for a week, and I'm at a loss of what else to do. Aside from that, his teacher says there's a limited number of other things that could be wrong...
I was hoping to get some more input...

This won't help you out, but I am experiencing the same problem... I am gonna look on this post to see if you get an answer!
I have the same problem! Except I did manage to get mine to turn on. After doing the hold the power down thing. Nothing happened. I did leave the lap top on cause I was irritated and walked away, about an hour later it came on. It let me turn it on and off a few times. Then stopped. Then leaving it sit on stopped working too

My ipad says it is connected to WiFi, which is workingly perfectly for several other devices, will not connect to internet.  It keeps giving the message 'Cannot Connect' or error has occurred or just blink off site or icon?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • It's just blinking orange

I have been using my Airport Express for over a year now. I connect using my Linksys wireless network, and have the Airport Express connect to it just for AirTunes for the stereo in my room. But today I got a new Linksys router, so my network/modem/router were out for quite some time today. During all of this my Airport Express also went out.
Now I have wireless Internet and everything working on my Mac, but Airport Express still isn't working. It just keeps blinking orange. I have tried configuring it through the Airport Admin Utility and the AirPort Setup Assistant, but neither seem to detect it. By the way, my wireless network has the same name as before, except now I have it require a password.
    What's going on?
    iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

By the way, my wireless network has the same name as before, except now I have it require a password.
There's your problem. When the Express is configured as a wireless client, the only way to access it to configure it is through the wireless network that it's connected to. When you added encryption, you broke that connection and, therefore, also lost your means to configure the Express.
However, all is not lost. You'll have to do a hard reset on the Express (hold down the reset button until the LED starts blinking rapidly) and then reconfigure it with the same security settings as used on the router. If you're using WEP encryption, it's a good idea to configure everything using WEP keys instead of passwords due to potential differences in the way some third-party routers and Apple products translate a password into a key.

  • Sony TV KDL-60W840B Red LED is blinking 2 times and TV wont turn on

Hi, I have a Sony TV KDL-60W840B which I bought 13 months ago for the world cup soccer (gift for my husand). Now it is not working and like you can read in the subject line once the TV is plugged into a power strip the red led start to blink twice and pause, when I try to turn on it not do it. Please help me because it is not fear that just when the warrenty finished the TV is not working,  and in fact I spent $2000 one year ago to have this issue. I really appreciate your help. Ana LuciaAB, Canada.

    Hi aluva,
    Welcome to the Sony Community!
If a Red LED is blinking and the TV is not working properly it means that the TV has detected an issue or problem. Most Red LED blink conditions require service. The meaning of the blink codes differs between TV models,
Please perform reset, visit the website below for the steps and further details.
    https://ca.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38403/c/65,67/kw/Perform%20power%20reset/session/L3RpbWUvMTQzODYzMjA0Ny9zaWQvQ1pPczkqc20%3D
Check out the website below for additional troubleshooting steps regarding lights are blinking on the TV.

If these articles do not resolve the issue, the problem is most likely related to an internal component that must be replaced and service will be required. Begin the procedure to send your Sony product into a Sony facility to be repaired.

  • I was wondring if there is any top free app for cleaning up  the computer and make it run faster while booting, on startup and while surfing web. I am using a macbookpro  with IOS10.8.5, under chrome, safari, firefox net environment. thanks on yourhelp

I was wondering if there is any top free app for cleaning up  the computer from malware, phinishing apps, adware, and othere malicious softwares and make it run faster while booting, on startup and while surfing web. I am using a Macbook pro  with IOS10.8.5, under chrome, safari, firefox net environment. thanks on your help

I was wondering if there is any top free app for cleaning up ...
There is no such thing, since the problems you are describing can have various causes. Seeking anything claiming to "clean" your Mac is asking for trouble, since all of those products are scams, whether they are "free" or not.
If you are having trouble with your Mac, describe what it is. Be as specific as possible. For general recommendations read below.
There will always be threats to your information security associated with using any Internet - connected communications tool:
You can mitigate those threats by following commonsense practices
Delegating that responsibility to software is an ineffective defense
Assuming that any product will protect you from those threats is a hazardous attitude that is likely to result in neglecting point #1 above.
OS X already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it that way with software updates from Apple.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "clean up", "speed up", "optimize", "boost" or "accelerate" your Mac; to "wash" it, "tune" it, or to make it "shiny". Those claims are absurd.Such products are very aggressively marketed. They are all scams.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources.
Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
"Questionable sources" include but are not limited to spontaneously appearing web pages or popups, download hosting sites such as C net dot com, Softonic dot com, Soft pedia dot com, Download dot com, Mac Update dot com, or any other site whose revenue is primarily derived from junk product advertisements.
If you need to install software that isn't available from the Mac App Store, obtain it only from legitimate sources authorized by the software's developer.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iCloud, iTunes, or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose:Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Java can be disabled in System Preferences.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
The same precaution applies to Adobe Flash Player. Newly discovered Flash vulnerabilities appear almost weekly.
Beware spontaneous popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > check "Block popup windows".
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but unsolicited popups are commonly used to deceive people into installing unwanted software they would never intentionally install.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever receive a popup window indicating that your Mac is infected with some ick or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
The same goes for a spontaneously appearing dialog insisting that you upgrade your video player right this instant. Such popups are frequently associated with sites that promise to deliver "free" movies or other copyrighted content that is not normally "free".
The more insistent it is that you upgrade or install something, the more likely it is to be a scam. Close the window or tab and forget it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. Most of these attempts are pathetic and are easily recognized, but that hasn't stopped prominent public figures from recently succumbing to this age-old scam.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.

  • Monitor Blinks, Sometimes computer boots, sometimes not...

    Hi all,
I'm building a new system for my girlfriend. It consists of the following: MSI-K8N Neo Platinum, AMD64 3400+, 1024MB DDR Corsair (2x512mb), Leadtek A400 GeForce 6800GT, Maxtor 160GB SATA, Plextor all in one DVD-R/RW CD-R/RW, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS.
When I first put everything together I made sure just one stick of RAM, Video Card, keyboard, and the essentials were all good to go. It booted up fine, I got to BIOS checked out the CPU temp, and everything seemed good to go. Since it was late that night, we packed the uninstalled parts away, and kept what was in the case, in the case.
Tonight I began working on it again...only I'm having some strange problems. Since we had no troubes on Wednesday, I installed everything, the HDD, CDROM, but not the sound card. Also installed the other stick of RAM. I turned on the computer, and the monitor just kept blinking, everything in the case was on, fans turning and so on, but nothing came up. So I took everything out, until I had what worked on Wednesday. Samething, nothing, monitor just blinked. I installed the D-Bracket, and I had 1red2red3green4red. Keyboard initialization. Unpluged the keyboard made sure it was in nice and tight, restarted, nothing happend. I resat the ATX plugs, resat the videocard, wiggled a few things around, turn the computer on and I had 1red2red3green4green. Initializing Hard Drive controller. I turned it off, fooled around again, resat everything, and when I turned it on, I got to POST, then into BIOS, looked around, the harddrive was there, CDROM was there, so I thought I was in the clear, I got read to run FDISK...turned off. Then I got the same thing when I restarted, nothing!
Figuring it was a short somehow, I took the MB out of the case, and sat it on some anti-static sheet it was shipped in, plugged everything back in, and still nothing. I have no clue what's going on with this. I've gotten to BIOS at least 3 or 4 times, the rest the monitor just blinks. And I've tried 3 different monitors. Can anyone out there help me with this weird problem?
Thanks for you time, much obliged!
    Justin

What sort of power supply are you using and how many amps are on the 12v rail? The very minimum would be 22 amps and I say that because mine is working fine. Most people suggest even more.

  • Iphone 5 won't charge, just blinks charge screen

iphone 5 won't charge, just blinks charge screen?

    Hey there 100ire,
It sounds like your iPhone is not turning on at all and just blinks an orange screen at you rather than booting. I would use these steps from the following article specifically, named:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),  reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling
