D-Link 562M modem does not works in Solaris 10 (?)

I use D-Link 562M external USB 56K modem. Modem works in Windows but does not works in Solaris 10 (?). Help me!

"Download Linked File As" Does Not Work

As others have noted, although Safari is an excellent and fast browser, there is one feature that is quite annoying, namely that all filed download by default to a single folder selected in preferences. Internet Explorer (and Firefox, I believe) by default allows the user to save to any folder selected at the time. In each thread I've read noting this problem, someone answers that the solution in Safari is to right click on the link and select "Download Linked File As" then direct the browser to the folder. The problem is that this does not work as Safari downloads only the link (or something else) but not the linked file. For example, if the linked file is a PDF, under "file type" PDF does not appear, only "All Files" and once the download is complete you have an entry in the desired folder but not the file itself. (This is true even if you append the proper suffix to the file name; no actual file.) Is there a solution here or does it really take several steps to get a downloaded file into the folder of choice?

I just checked a pdf and "Download linked file as" does give me option to save where I want for pdf, jpg files and others.

Desktop software links and menu does not work

Hi,
i have a blackberry bold 9000 and installed the latest desktop software 4.6 from the blackberry website.
my device manager says connected. but if i start desktop manager, i don't see the main header menu (there is just nothing, where the text menu should be) and the icons in the main window does not work as links. there is no connection to anything.
i have uninstalled all blackberry software and installed it new. i have installed several runtime environments manually, including java and c++. but that makes no difference at all.
what could be the problem? what runtime is necessary and should working correctly for blackberry desktop manager software? do i need some tweaks in internet explorer security settings (active scripting or something like that) ?

Java.io.File renameTo does not work on Solaris

Hi Experts,
I have a code-piece which tries to move files from one directory to another on the SAME FILE SYSTEM using java.io.File.renameTo method.
It works fine when there less no. of files in the source directory. But the renameTo does not work as expected when there are very huge no. of files(~40K) present in the source directory.
I am aware that there is a known issue when one tries to use this method to move files across file systems OR if the file exists at the destination directory.
But in my case the file system is the same and the there is no such file in the destination directory.
I suspect some inode related issues. But not sure what it is exactly.
Is there any limitations of renameTo?
Please help.

If you would like some specific and relevent answers, please supply specifics about how exactly the operation differs from your expected results. You should also post example code as it is almost always asked for eventually.

3g usb modem does not work on Lion?

I have had a 3g usb modem for almost two years now, it worked fine on Snow Leopard but does not pick up any connection to any cell tower after my upgrade to Lion. Any suggestions?

EPM 11122 to 11123 upgrade issue: Links in Workspace does not work

We have an existing EPM 11.1.2.2 installed on Linux & windows platforms. This is a planning & HFR domain. Except FDM, Dimension server, HFR all other services are out of Linux server.
Linux - ServerA (Physical server). However we access all URLs using a different DNS alias ServerC which points to ServerA
Windows - ServerB
Followed http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40248_01/epm.1112/epm_install/frameset.htm?ch10s05.html for upgrade.
Installation and configuration went well. We are using Embedded http server. In the final step of web server configuration
- Did the configure web server with Embedded ( port 28080). It was successful.
- Then in WL console changed the Listening address to ServerC for all managed servers including Admin server
- Then using configtool ran the step "configure logical web addresses"
- Here selected set logical addresses for services individually & then for all services running on ServerA
(workspace/shared services/aif/aps/datasync/planning/eas/calc)
set them to ServerC:28080 (DNS alias)
And for services running on Windows BPMA & FDM set to ServerB:80
This went through well.
Started all the services. All WL services came up without issues. CAn login to Workspace & shared services. I can see the look and feel changes and can see all new EPM 11123 icons under "Navigate-->Administer". But when I click on any of the links (Dimension lib/Application lib/planning/Data management etc) all fail with similar error
"A Not found error occured while communication with server". In show details it says for example...
URI: http://ServerC:28080/awb/conf/AwbConfig.xml - status 404 not found"
For each application the error is similar http://ServerC:28080/<context> - status 404 not found
Obviously the Logical web address set to 28080 is not working. But all the below URLS work fine

To fix this issues, tried reconfiguring Logical web address to all individual application, this time to correct respective ports where they are listening instead of 28080. As I can see only workspace is working on 28080.
I can see this new configuration updated in registry. Bounced the domain including Admin server. But the issue persists. For each link, it is still looking for old Logical web URL "http:serverc:28080/<context> instead of picking up new Logical addresses configured.
Please suggest ways to fix the issue.

Issue got resolved after installing OHS instead of using embedded http server. In OHA it gives the flexibility to point to DNS alias.

Key tab does not work on solaris

Hi,
I have installed my new dev environment , a solaris 10 system.
Unfortunatly, when I launch my production java applications, some control key does not seem to work. Particularly the tab key, so i cannot change from one JTextField to another. But this behaviour does not occur when the same application is launched on windows, linux or freebsd.
Can anyone help me ?

I believe what you found is right! I hard coded the size (60) in vswprintf and It works!
I cannot pass the size ( 60 ) to ksx_swprintf, I need to find a way to compute the bufr size ( not by sizeof(bufr)) inside ksx_swprintf before calling vswprintf.
What I am doing here is to i18n a big system to a few unix platforms. Of course, you know there are many calls of sprintf() in the code base, it is impossible to manually change all the sprintfs. what I did so far is to replace all sprintf by stprintf, then define macro stprintf to be swprintf for WCS and sprintf to be the SBCS, but on solaris 7, unlike other systems, swprintf takes an argument of buffer size ( as the 2nd argument), so for SOLARIS7, I have to define stprintf to be ksxswprintf. This is where I am.

Gpib-enet v1.3 does not work under Solaris 8

Recently I have updated my Sparc-workstation from solaris 7 to Solaris 8. I have installed GPIB-ENET version 1.3. Wenn I started ibic->ibfind gpib1, an error ENEB appeared. The gpib even did not respond to ping. After reset the gpib, it can respond to ping, but the ibic did not work.

Servlet works in windows but does not work in solaris?

can someone tell me why the servlet work in windows platform but doesnt work in solaris?The servlet tries to ping 127.0.0.1 and the output is correct in windows, but when i try it in solaris, it produces the following exception :

Click on a mac appstore link in safari does not work anymore

I'm on OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 using latest versions of Mac App Store, Safari, Iron and Firefox.
In a recent past, in Safari, Iron or Firefox, when I clicked on "view in Mac App Store" link, the Mac App Store app opened.
I clicked by mistake on "No" in a box.
Now, when I click on "view in Mac App Store", nothing happens.
Where in MacOSX or elsewhere in my Yosemite, can I get the setting to open the Mac App Store app from a browser.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Link in Report does not work when run on Citrix

Hello,
we use Crystal Reports (v11) for creating Reports.
Data is based on our CRM system "SuperOffice".
We have several reports and what we did is to add a column that includes a link to SuperOffice.
For example - if I have a list of contacts as a report, then every line has a link to SuperOffice.
If I click this link, the contact in SuperOffice gets open.
This works on lokal pc installations.
But is doesn't work on a citrix server.
If I click the link - nothing happens.
Is that a known problem or does anyone have any ideas for that?
Are there any known problems with links in reports on citrix servers?

The main question is, to which folders etc. does CR needs access?
To explain the situation better: To run the reports we use Crystal Reports Runtime (Version 11.1.1883).
Do you (or anyone else in these forum) know where we could get information about which kinds of access CR Runtime needs to handle with these links?

E61 Bluetooth modem does not work - help needed

I have an IBM ThinkPad R51 Laptop with XP Profesional SP2. I have installed the latest version of PC Suite, 6.82.22.0. I can sync using the bluetooth connection. I can connect my laptop to the internet with my E61 using the USB cable.
But I cannot connect to the Internet using the BlueTooth connection. The BlueTooth modem appears to be the problem. When I try and connect it fails with the msg "Failed to connect to the Network! One Touch Access could not connect to the selected device."
If I go to the Blue Tooth Modem properties via the Control Panel and Query the modem I get the following error msg:
"The modem failed to respond. Make sure it is properly connected and turned on. If it is an Internal modem or is connected, verify that the interrupt for the port is properly set."
BlueTooth stack is WIDCOMM ver. 1.4.3.4.
NB. I am unable to select the Microsoft stack in Connection Manager.

OK, so I can be a bit more specific about what happens in the emails when I send links or contents to a page....the words all overlap each other and are compressed, leaving no spaces whatsoever between lines, and causing words to be typed all over each other, more so towards the end or bottom of the email...and of course the link to click is gone from the message...I had one redirected to me and I could see the email's appearance for myself.
