Hello
I have a problem with a D-Link DBT-120 bluetooth-dongle.

Am i the only one with a HDMI adapter no longer working ?
Hi. I own an Iphone 4 running ios 5.1.1. I used to be able to watch a video using my HDMI adapter when i was running ios 5.0.
But i recently wanted to use it and i saw it would not work at all !!! I was running ios 5.0.1. Then i thought i should update my iphone to make it work again, but in vain, my adapter seems to work no more... I of course tried to restore my iphone and checked my hdmi cable. Am i the only one or am i the choosen one like neo ? Thank you !first of all
apple don't read or write here so they will never "say anythign" here or read your posts
this is a user helping user forum only
you can get their ear using the feedback
http://www.apple.com/feedback/
don't own the hdmi adapter but got the component and composite ones and they work fine with my iphone4 with latests os
what I would do if I was me
first step of troubleshooting would be to reboot the phone
http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_1
second step then I would try another ios device that is supported with the device (of cause only iphone4s and ipad2 and up support mirror so for testing I use youtube as I know that support the tv out feature)
trying out the other ios device would rule out that the cable is damaged and you just happend to notice around the time you updated os
third step I would try other devices that use the pin30 cable to see if the connector in the iphone was damaged -
D-Link DBT-120 Ver C1 problems
This one has me stumped. I just purchased a D-Link DBT-120 Ver C1 Bluetooth Adapter (the newest) yesterday at the Apple Store, to use with my cell phone and also a wireless headset. The cellphone (Moto V360) works great, but I am unable to get the headset (Jabra BT160) to work.
The problem appears to be that Apple's v1.2 and v1.2.1 bluetooth firmware updater appears not to recognize the Ver C1 DBT-120 adapter yet. When I try to blast the firmware, it finds the adapter and gives me this message:
"The Bluetooth module in this computer is not supported by this firmware updater."
So I assume that Apple needs to release a new firmware updater that recognizes C1, aloing with B2/3/4?
Has anyone had success getting their Ver C1 adapter to work with a bluetooth headset?
Thanks,
Sky
Powermac G5 Dual 2.3 (2005) Mac OS X (10.4.7) D-Link DBT-120 Ver C1 Bluetooth AdapterNon apple hardware is the main point Apple will have to solve soon, if it wants to be #1.
Unfortunately, Windoze are light-years ahead of Mac OS supporting all kind of hardware.
Apple's support of hardware is pale, compared to Windoze.
Another thing we customers have to kick some a**es is how some companies deal with mac users. Belkin, for example, sells a Bluetooth dongle F8T012 that is a shame. They put on the box the text:
"works on Windows and Mac OS X" and an little observation
Mac OS X drivers are provided by Apple.
What kind of company is Belkin? They want to get mac customer's money but not even want to have any trouble developing the driver?
I definitevely will never buy Belkin again. This is the second time I see something like that.
I have a band new belkin Bluetooth 2+edr dongle + a brand new plantronics voyager 510 and they simply don't work on mac because belking is too busy to develop a decent driver for their product.
The only job they will give me is to go back the dealer for a refund. -
Bluetooth Mighty Mouse & D-Link DBT-120 issues
Gawd! Please could somebody help me : I've just installed 10.7 & have been using a wireless mighty mouse with a D-Link DBT-120 (REV B4) adapter. For some time now the mouse could not wake my mac from sleep & after reading a few forums I decided to update the D-Link firmware to the most recent I could find on the Apple site (Firmware Updater Vs. 1.2.0) in order to 'ungrey' the check box in the Bluetooth prefs that allows this. Now the Bluetooth prefs have disappeared entirely & when I plug the adapter in my wired mouse freezes. I read an earlier post here that suggested zapping the PRAM but this hasn't worked either. Could I possibly have installed an earlier version of the firmware I already had (couldn't check this in the Profiler as it isn't recognised)?? And is there a way out of this mess?? Any help would be gratefully received...
I also have a DBT-120, rev B4. Connected to a G4 Power Mac MDD 1.25 GHz DP, running OS 10.4.11 with all current updates except iTunes and quicktime. I just started using an original Apple wireless mouse (model A1015), which a friend gave me last week. The mouse works fine, but it will not wake the computer from sleep. I have tried on an iMac G4, with the same result. The "allow bluetooth devices to wake this computer " is greyed out on both machines.
Any solution would be much appreciated. -

Wenn das Nokia versucht die Verbindung zum Mac aufzubauen –
Also das Bluetoothsymbol in den Klammern blinkt ...
Reiter wechselt - HAUPTSACHE MAN WECHSELT DIE REITER
Danach wegsichern.
Na also -.
gesichert J
g4 ibook Mac OS X (10.4.4) D-Link DBT-120Hi robin,
DHCP is (and was) buggy, (sooner or later) it brings more issues than comfort.
Anyway, the D-Link rep told me that OS X 10.4 has a lot of networking problems, and it's basically Apple's fault.
If the rep means Tiger in general (10.4.x) and not a specific Tiger version (i.e. 10.4.6) then he's just passing cheap excuses...
The only solution they could offer was to use a manual IP, but this is annoying as people often come to my place and want to use the internet, and having to manually set everyone's IP/Subnet/Router etc is a headache.
I see your point, however if you take some time and set your friends' Macs once, you won't have to worry about the corny DHCP attitude again
The rep actually said that "only 1 in 1000 Macs running Tiger actually work properly with our routers", despite the 'Mac compatible' label on the box!
O tempora, O mores...
Don't take reps too seriously:
Networking standards are platform-agnostic, there's no such thing as Mac-compatible TCP/IP, Mac-compatible DHCP etc, (maybe he means that their c**y set-up wizards are Mac-compatible?)
Maybe D-Link should re-evaluate the DHCP implementation inside their routers...

Hi, i bought a d-link dbt-120 rev.c from apple, about 7 months ago. It died today and i did not do anything like drop it. The lights only will go on if i plug it in after letting it sit, even then my mouse keeps getting disconnected. Is there some way to repair this without a trip to the apple store? It's worked fine before.
Got an internal bluetooth module

Apple wireless keyboard on XP with D-Link DBT-120
It was effortless to pair my aluminum Apple wireless keyboard with Windows XP SP2 using the D-Link DBT-120 (Ver. C1) Bluetooth USB dongle. It paired just like any Bluetooth keyboard and works well when it's connected.
The XP box the keyboard is paired with never sleeps, but when I come in in the morning the keyboard doesn't work. I always have to delete it from the Bluetooth Manager and re-pair it. It seems that the long overnight period of inactivity causes the connection to fail, even though my machine doesn't sleep or get rebooted.
This same keyboard stayed paired with the same PC for weeks when I was using a Logitech Bluetooth dongle (WIDCOMM stack), so I'm guessing this is a D-Link issue or perhaps a quirk of the Toshiba Bluetooth stack. I even put fresh batteries in the keyboard to make sure it wasn't just starting to run low on power.
Does anyone have any idea why a long period of inactivity (with no sleep or reboots) might cause Bluetooth connection problems between Apple's keyboard and XP/DBT-120?I tried to do what you described in this post but it does NOT work. I have a D-Link DBT-122 and Win XP running on a PC and the wireless keyboard.
I type the code in the grey field with an USB keyboard and then I do the same with the wireless one and press "Enter" but it does NOT work.
Did you miss a step in your description? -
Using a D-Link DBT-120 with a Bluetooth-enabled Mac Mini
I have one of the original Mac Minis with internal bluetooth. Because of the placement of the unit and the mouse that I just purchased, the internal bluetooth is not sensing the mouse unless I place it very near to the Mac Mini and on the same plane. To get around this, I was hoping to use a D-Link DBT-120 attached to an extension USB cord which can be placed near to the mouse. I have checked in the System Profiler and it shows the DBT-120 but I don't know how to proceed further to pair my mouse to it. If I turn on bluetooth, I'm back to using the internal bluetooth and then can't even access Bluetooth Preferences.
Any help anyone could provide in setting this up to use the DBT-120 rather than the internal bluetooth is appreciated. As far as I know, (from reading similar earlier posts) you can't tell the Mac which Bluetooth hardware to use. It will always try to use the internal module. So unless you can physically remove it I don't think you'll be able to use the D-Link.

D-Link DBT-120 Wake From Sleep
I just purchased a D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth Adapter for my wife's G4 iBook running 10.5.3, to use with the Apple wireless keyboard and mouse. Both the keyboard and mouse work fine but I can't get the Wake From Sleep option to work.
Apple says to use H/W Rev. B2 or later of the DBT-120 to get the Wake From Sleep function. Mine is version C1. I have run the Bluetooth Firmware update 1.2 as suggested but I still can't get the Wake From Sleep to work (the option is grayed out in system preferences). I called D-Link tech support but they were useless.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
DavidDavid check if the PowerBook can have a Bluetooth card installed as dongles just do not work, particularly pairibng problems and the wake from sleep you mentioned.
If the PowerBook will take the internal card, try FastMac. They are on special at $29.95, wake from sleep, pair perfectly and even boot from bootble CD's wuch as AHT and DiskWarrior./ -
Bluetooth Headsets and D-Link DBT-120
Hi everyone,
I am running a PowerMac Dual 2.0 GHz G5 with OS 10.4.11. I have been having the hardest time finding a solution to pair my Plantronics headset with my Mac. I have tried several Bluetooth USB dongles, most recently the D-link DBT-120 and everytime I go to pair the headset, I get the error: "Failed to set up the headset. Headsets are not supported on your Bluetooth hardware." I have the most up to date bluetooth firmware and software on my Mac:
Software: 1.9.5f4
Firmware: 3.1915
I read in the support article:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120276
"Headset support requires a Bluetooth enabled headset and either an internal Apple Bluetooth module or a D-Link DBT-120 rev. B or later."
so I understand why the 2 other cheap USB bluetooth dongles didn't work with headsets, but even after buying a new D-link dbt-120, I STILL get the error...any thoughts??? Thanks in advance!Your link loops back to this thread.
So, what you are saying is, the Apple doc recommends this DBT-120:
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/D%2DLink/DBT120/
But you have this one:
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=34
is there a solution without upgrading to 10.5?
OS X 10.4.3 and later are supported, but note the disclaimer:
This device supports Bluetooth® Version 2.0. However D-Link cannot guarantee full compatibility with all devices due to modifications and/or other variations of the devices’ implementation of the Bluetooth 2.0/1.2/1.1 standard. -
D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth Adapter: connecting to headsets or not???
Hi there!
I want to use a headset with my G5, using a BT USB adapter. Mine doesn't work, so I'm thinking - unhappily - of buying a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth Adapter.
But: in the Apple Store, they say it does not work with headsets!!!
On the other side, people in the board here are claiming that it works, if you apply the firmware updater.
Which one is right??? I can hardly belive that Apple using untrue negatif customer feedback as a marketing strategie... so I'm a bit confused.
==>>> I would like to hear from people who are using the D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth Adapter if they are able to connect to a headset or not (even people not having a headset can test this, just run the BT hardware wizard, selecting headset, and see if there is the error or not).
Thanks a lot.
GilbertUsing a headset needs several steps even needed if you have the latest computer or Mac OS X release. Please make sure to follow them in order.
Download the Apple Bluetooth Firmware Updater
Install it
Launch it from Applications > Utilities > Bluetooth Updater
Apply it to your adapter (takes very long).
Start the Apple Bluetooth Assistant and select Headset. Do not use anything else!
Make your headset Bluetooth visible. Look up the manual of your headset how to do that.
Now select the headset in System Preferences > Sound.
In most cases step 3 is missed. You have to start the already installed updater yourself (do not ask me why). -
Why won't my pandora work when I'm not on wifi? I have the cellular data on for it but I never works. Also pandora isn't the only app of mine that does that.. What's wrong with it??
You're welcome.
Voicemail is left at your carrier's server. That will continue to work unless you report your iPhone as lost or stolen with your carrier.
You may never find it again and you can't if the iPhone remains offline or out of service which means the iPhone is powered off or doesn't have cellular reception. -
Am i the only one who when trying to enter the code for creative cloud activation ?
I give up,i have been trying to activate a 3 month subscription for CS6 from Staples and every time i try the code it will not work. I have used the chat live and spent about 3 hours already going nowhere. I do not like talking on the phone to some help desk overseas and the only thing i think left to do is to return the junk.
I tried all that and even took a picture of the numbers and blew them up so a blind person could read them and had 3 others read them off. A simple way to fix the problem is get someone on Adobes staff to find a font that most people can read from whatever product the stick it to.

Hey John,
Not sure if it helps or not, but I know sometimes with codes like that its really hard to tell certain characters apart, O - like in Oscar versus 0 - number and number 1 versus lowercase L like in Lima.
Might test entering it both ways if you have any suspect characters?
