D-Link Ethernet Adapter DUB-E100 not recognized in Mountain Lion

I just upgraded my MacBook Air to Mountain Lion (I know, but better late than never). Unfortunately, my D-Link USB Ethernet adapter (I have 2 of them) that worked fine on Lion is not recognized on ML. I've checked the D-Link site for updated drivers, and they don't even have a driver for my Rev C hardware. Calling D-Link support costs more than buying a new adapter. Searching Apple support turns up no information, and a general web search only returns results that predate ML.
I would be eternally* grateful if someone could provide advice on where I might find a compatible driver. While I could probably write one, overall my fallback is to simply buy an Apple adapter.
*Perhaps not eternally, but for a day at least

  • IPod not recognized with Mountain Lion

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, my iPOD gets hung up when connected to computer, and will not show on i Tunes. I get the spinning wheel and the "do not disconnect" sign on the iPod. I tried the resetting routine with no benefit.  Is there something I can do without losing my iPod content to restore i Pod and allow use with Mountain Lion.  The i POD functions normally when used by itself. It also loads properly on my desktop MacPro OS 10.7.4 Has anyone had this problem?

I assume this iPod worked with this Mac before upgrading the Mac to Mountain Lion?  You've updated Mountain Lion to 10.8.1?  And your iTunes version is the latest available (10.6.3)?
If you are using a USB hub as connection point (or the spare port in the keyboard), try connecting it to a direct USB port.  As a test, you may want to disconnect all other USB devices (except for standard keyboard and mouse if used), and connect the iPod to a direct USB port.  Also, if you have not powered OFF your Mac in a while, try doing that (not just restarting).
If that does not help, try putting the iPod into Disk Mode, to see if it will connect to the Mac without iTunes (or the system) giving you the spinning wheel.

It's not a good idea to have song files on the iPod that are not backed up in your iTunes library.  iPods can become broken or lost.  Purchases from the iTunes Store can be re-downloaded from the iTunes Store Purchased page, but for other song files, you should transfer them off the iPod and add them to your computer's iTunes library.  Then, you can do a Restore when necessary, and easily re-sync your songs back to iPod.  You can't do it (transfer from iPod to computer) using iTunes, but there are third-party methods and utilities that can do it.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.

  • D-Link dub e100 not work in mac 10.10

hi , i just upgraded my macbook pro to mac 10.10 and after upgrade my USB-to-ethernet device (D-link dub e100) not work and in setting says me self assigned ip
    please help.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I have found that clicking on the photo works on export, but not all of the time.
I tried redefining a keyboard shortcut.  That does not work since the "Menu: View/Zoom In" function does not work either.
Strange that it is only a problem with multiple photos open and they appear in tabs.  I have tried deselecting "Open new documents as tabs" under preferences.  That 'fixes' the problem since the zoom in / out does not work only with multiple tabs open, but it works with multiple windows open.   I suspect that this 'fix' will work on the export problem too, since I will be exporting the active window.
So essentially, the 'open new documents as tabs' is so buggy that it should not be used.
Hopefully Adobe will not try to charge me for an upgrade to CS5 in order to fix this problem.

  • CS4 "Save as Adobe PDF" not working in Mountain Lion

CS4 Save as Adobe PDF not working in Mountain Lion
Just bought a new Mac with mountain lion, installed CS4 design premium twice trying to fix this. When you go to "print" then "Save as Adobe PDF" the process fails with a pop-up saying "An error occurred while saving the PDF file". I can still do the standard "Save as PDF" - but that usually results in a file size 10x larger than Save as Adobe PDF so it won't work for me; I need the small file sizes of Save as Adobe PDF.
When I go to Help > Repair Acrobat Installation it seems to be recognizing a repair needed with Adobe PDF Printer (see screenshot below); but when I go through the repair nothing changes it still won't work.
    Any help is much appreciated!

"Save As Adobe PDF" works fine in Snow Leopard.
Thanks for the link, but this is no help - I already have "Save As Adobe PDF" on the menu - the problem is when I click that it errors out...
I just think its sad that Adobe charges people $2000 and provides zero support for future updates; when I buy an iMac for half that amount of money or an iPhone I get operating system support and bug fix downloads to deal with the latest internet advances for years to come - but Adobe apparently takes your money and says sayonara! Is it really that hard to provide updates on $2000 worth of software for say 24 months??

  • How can I find Lion to download it to my Mac Boook/  It is the white plastic model and is now running Snow Leopard.  It has 4 GB of Ram but this computer is not compatible with MOuntain Lion.  I cannot find Lion anywhere.

How can I find Lion to download it to my Mac Book?  It has Snow Leopard and 4GB RAM but it the white plastic model and is not compatible with Mountain Lion.  I have been told by the Genius Bar that it will handle Lion.

That underpowered model is better left on 10.6.8 for performance reasons, also the fact that it's dated and 10.7 will likely require you to buy alll new software to replace the PPC based software your currently using.
If you insist, then call Apple via phone and they will sell you 10.7 Lion and provide a link to download it.
My 2¢ is to save up for a new machine, as that one is about to kick the bucket, they only last about 4.5 years or so depending upon use/enviroment.
If your having problems with 10.6.8, perhaps some of the links here can assist, 10.6 is faster than 10.7 in fresh install tests.

    Hello royalaqua,
I do think you should ask yourself if upgrading to Lion is the right course to take.
Snow Leopard is an excellent OS and Lion has literally been frozen out after barely a year.   Remember too that some of your apps may not work with Lion (those that have Rosetta, for example) so that could mean more new purchases.   Plus you may need to uprate your RAM too.

  • How to download but not install OSX Mountain Lion on Mavericks

    Hi all
I would like to download but not install OSX Mountain Lion on my MBP which is currently running OSX Mavericks.
This however seems impossible. I think OSX Mavericks were already installed on my MBP and therefore it seems "impossible" to download it.
Now, why would I to do this? The answer is quite reasonable, due to certain demands related to an application portfolio I need Mountain Lion, because the portfolio is not upgraded to run on Mavericks. And, it is more reasonable to downgrade a version of OSX, rather waiting for the portfolio upgrade which can take years.
Yes, I need to downgrade my secondary MBP which also came with preinstalled Mavericks. This can be done, if I only could download but not install Moutain Lion.
It should be easy enough; download Mountain Lion, make an installer and make a bootable thumb usb stick. Then erase Mavericks and install Mountain Lion.
I have previously bought Mountain Lion so it is accessible to me in the App Store, but whenever I try to hit the Download button, I get a message saying this can't be done, since I am running Mavericks.
This bugs me, it should be obvious users needs the flexibility to swap whatever OSX version they need. It is still software.
So, how can I download but not install Mountain Lion on my newer MBP that came with preinstalled Mavericks?
I would like to see answers like:
"In order to get this to work, you first have to disable the locking mechanism in [...] " instead of "No, this is impossible to do"
    Regards

    Thanks for your reply Eric
Can't help wondering thought, people are ok with this?
Basically Apple are saying: "Do not attempt to install an older version of OSX which came preinstalled. If so, expect multiple failures." Really?! Has it always been so? For me it's not like I'm going to install Snow Leopard on my Late 2013 Retina MBP, but I would expect some form of backward compatibility between the previous version and it successor. Apparently this is not possible, and how is this even acceptable?
Personally, I am not going to downgrade, as if I had a choice, but I would and I expected however, the possibility to at least download the previous OSX version. What do you do if you have bought several applications, not necessarily online from App Store and buy yourself a new Mac with preinstalled Mavericks and after installing your "old" applications they fail to work properly? What do you do since downgrading apparently is not an option. So... again, what do you do?
If you don't have friends with an older Mac, you could be facing serious problems. And I'm not talking about gaming, but serious business.
I find this quite disturbing actually, and please tell me it's not so. There gotta be a way to do this?
I simply want to download the OS but I expect some registry values (like windows' registry) keeps preventing this.
It should be possible to simply download and not download and install in one operation, shouldn't it?
    Regards

  • Remote desktop not working on mountain lion

My ARD does not work on Mountain Lion. The software opens but all I get is the menu at the top, and my only working option is to quit. I spoke to Apple support and they suggest (as they usually do) to reinstall the whole operating system, but I can't accept this as a valid answer as everything else works. There must be a way to fix this without having to reinstall a machine that came originally with Mountain Lion!

I was able to fix my issue by just uninstalling ARD (I used AppZapper) - and just reinstalling it - no "Archive & Install" required - best of luck with your situation!

    please help!!

    Hi
First, you are going to need v9.1.7 or later with Mountain Lion (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5421)
    Second
To get the updaters to work several things MUST be correct:
The Logic Application must be named "Logic Pro" or "Logic Express" (depending on which type you are working with) with NO Additional spaces or numbers in the name.
The application must be at the root level of the Applications folder (and NOT anywhere else).
