D-Link router has to be reset several times a day
I have been experiencing issues with my wireless connection since I received D-Link router from verizon. The technichians have checked everything and they say that configuration and the tests they run at their office is fine, yet I can be standing right next to the router with a mobile device in hand and my device would show "not in range". Periodically I may have decent connetion for a few hours then I get disconnected. I have been told by Verizon that I can purchase my own router but that it will not be supported, after I was told they will send me a different router, only to have the same D-Link router sent to me three(3) times. I have to hardwire the modem to the computer in order to get on the internet. I was told sine harwiring works, there is nothing they can do, even though I am paying for wireless service. I see this as a real problem. I have not been able to work remotely in over 3 months due to this issue.
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board. you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information.
To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Usually for an iPhone that is doing this I would recommend resetting the device, but you do that already. Next I would have to recommend backing up to iTunes, then restoring the device.

After you restore the device I would set it up as new and use it for a bit to see if the issue persists. If it does not, restore from your backup and then test it for a bit again to verify that it works.

IMac Retina has started shutting down several times a day, generating a "Panic Report".
Although I have had a new iMac Retina since October, it is only within the past few weeks that I have started trying to use it for most purposes. Initially, it seemed to be working OK. But during the past week, it has started to do peculiar things, such as:
1. Now, several times a day, it shuts down unexpectedly. When I boot it back up, it displays a message saying that it was shut down because of a problem. Then, when I click on the window for a report of the problem, it generates a long “Panic Report”.
2. When it boots back up, it automatically opens several windows that I did not have open when it shut down — Safari, Firefox, Excel, Word, etc.
3. I have 2 external 1gb drives connected for data, and 2 external 4gb drives connected for Time Machine backups. All of the drives have been formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). However, although Finder originally showed all 4 of those drives, Finder now always omits a particular one of the 1gb drives. Yet, iDrive and Time Machine continue to recognize all 4 drives.
4. Several times over the past week, it suddenly popped up a “Jabber" window containing a long transcript of a series of iPhone texts that I exchanged in January. However, I never installed Jabber (to my knowledge), and it doesn’t show as currently installed on any of my devices.

It has crashed at least 64 times since 11 August and never before that. That is the total number of reports in about:crashes.
The signature on the two reports I have queried is LookupNPPHey thanx for the help, it worked like a charm.
I think firefox changed the application lay out, as I used to be able to choose my PDF opener from the list at " Adobe Acrobat Forms Document' where I could choose Nitro-PDF reader, but it has now moved all the way to the bottom like you suggested to the obvious place of "Portable Document Format" section.
If someone didn't tell me , I wouldn't have scrolled all the way down to be able to find it... it really should be with all its cousins up the top...

1.1.2 causes my classic to crash several times a day
I updated my classic to the latest firmware (1.1.2) and, for the first time in the history of my iPod usage, it has started crashing suddenly several times a day. It always crashes when selecting a new song, podcast, video, or audiobook, never during playback or other menu navigation (although maybe once or twice when navigating to a "leaf" menu in the menu tree). This is infuriating because it causes me to lose my place in the audiobooks and podcasts I have listened to since last crash. Is this a known issue? I haven't seen it discussed in the forums.
So, although I do notice some minor performance improvements in 1.1.2, I will be attempting a downgrade to 1.1.1 shortly. I just need the 8+ hours free to wait for my 120 gigs of content to load after a restore.Before reverting back to 1.1.1 see if another update to 1.1.2 works after a restore. It may have been a glitch with the update. It's worth a shot.

Need to unplug router several times a day
over the last few days I have had to unplug and then plug in my router several times a day in order to make connection to the internet, has anyone else have this problem, if so how do you fix it?

I am also having the same issue on the WRT54Gx2… reflashed, hard reset, called tech support, ISP, wired or wireless, leave the wired PC on , turn it off, no cordless phones, no interference, full bars, changed security protocol, bands, shows it is hooked up, yet will not work. Not over heating. Worked on wireless not on wired… at the same time, to recycle I would kick off the wireless that is working, so I was dead in the water… arrrgggg .
Happens everyday. Yesterday, unplugged and recycled about 10 times.
Any suggestions from anyone would be appreciated. First time posting here..

Firefox keeps opening tabs whether I am on-line or not. These are often games pages, but not always. I have reset several times and there are no pipe characters in the home page address. This is not the first time this has happened. The first time was a couple of months ago and a reset cured the problem, but this time it does not. How can I stop this occurring?

Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

Several times a day my HP Laptop disconnects and reconnects to my WRT600N router.
I’ve installed a new WRT600N. (Firmware Version: 1.01.35 build 5_20080115).
My install was a “Linksys EasyLink Advisor” guided and is generic. SPI Firewall Protection is enabled. Security Mode is enabled for WPA-Personal.
The laptop I use with router is an HP/Compaq 6710b (also new), running XP Pro. The built-in WiFi adapter is a “G” type (Intel PRO/Wireless 394ABG) with “Windows Wireless Network Connection” enabled.
Presently I don’t use the “N” capability of the router. However, I plan buy a 2nd laptop with an “N” WiFi adapter soon.
The router works well…most of the time. Signal strength is “Very Good”. However, several times a day my HP Laptop disconnects and reconnects to the router.
Each time this happens I get a “Linksys EasyLink Advisor” prompt stating “Network Problem!...the connection to the router is not working”.
After experimentation I realize that most often the connection will restore by itself…or worst case; I can re-detect and restore the connection using either the “Linksys EasyLink Advisor” wizard OR the “Windows Wireless Network Connection” wizard.
Besides losing the connection, the most annoying part of this is that after the connection is restored and the “Linksys EasyLink Advisor” wizard message remain indicating: “Network Problem!...the connection to the router is not working”.
Suggestions?There are many causes for poor wireless connections, and many solutions:
First of all, give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you are using "linksys" you may be trying to connect to your neighbor's router. Also set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled". This will help your computer find and lock on to your router's signal.
Poor wireless connections are often caused by radio interference from other 2.4 GHz devices. This includes wireless phones, wireless baby monitors, microwave ovens, wireless mice and keyboards, wireless speakers, and your neighbor's wireless network. In rare cases, Bluetooth devices can interfere. Even some 5+ GHz phones also use the 2.4 Ghz band. Unplug these devices, and see if that corrects your problem.
In your router, try a different channel. There are 11 channels in the 2.4 GHz band. Usually channel 1, 6, or 11 works best. Check out your neighbors, and see what channel they are using. Because the channels overlap one another, try to stay at least +5 or -5 channels from your strongest neighbors. For example, if you have a strong neighbor on channel 9, try any channel 1 through 4.
Also, try to locate the router about 4 to 6 feet above the floor, in an open area. Do not locate it behind your monitor or near other computer equipment or speakers. The antenna should be vertical.
Also, in the computer, go to your wireless software, and go to "Preferred Networks" (sometimes called "Profiles" ). There are probably a few networks listed. Delete any network named "linksys". Also delete any network that you do not recognize, or that you no longer use. If your current network is not listed, enter its info (SSID, encryption (if any), and key (if any) ). Then select your current network and make it your default network, and set it to automatic login. You may need to go to "settings" to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select "Properties" or "settings".
If the above does not fix your problem, download and install the latest driver for your wireless card.
Some users have reported improved wireless performance by switching from WEP to WPA encryption.
If you continue to have problems, try the following:
For wireless n routers, try setting the "n Transmission Rate" to 162 Mbps, and the (wireless g) "Transmission Rate" to 54 Mbps.
If you still have trouble, download and install the latest firmware for your router. After a firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

After all you've tried, Dah*veed is probably right about needing warranty assistance.
But first check to be sure Settings-Airplane Mode is set to OFF, and Settings-WiFi-WiFi is set to ON.
Try unplugging your WiFi router for a few seconds. Then reset the iPad's network. Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will need to reconnect to your WiFi.

Why do I have to reset my router several times a day????
I returned it today. I had to push a bit on the store to replace because they could not duplicate the problem and because I did so many restores, there was no data that they could check to see the history of resets, or so they said.
But, alas, a secret manager in the back approved a replacement but I was reminded this was a one time courtesy replacement. The Genius rep was very cool, same guy who helped me the first time.
I said, "how am I supposed to come in when it locks up? I need to use the phone, so I am always going to reset it. I can't wait to come to the store and just live with no phone for a day or two." He responded that unless they can see the problem or duplicate, there is nothing they can do. A very reasonable policy and it makes sense, but you would think that if I just got the phone on Friday and came back Monday, I might get the benefit of the doubt, which I suspect I did in this case.
Got to love Apple, they just want to make their customers happy. I marveled as another customer brought their Generation 1 iPod nano in for repair / replacement and they were looking for ways to give her a credit. Another guy brought in an iPod classic that clearly had been abused and they replaced it.
They really do try. -

The error message "No more virtual tiles can be allocated" appears when I try to use the effects in the quick editing mode in my Elements 13. The baton OK has to be pressed several times for loading all effect patterns. The error returns when selecting the particular pattern.
The problem does not appear, if PH Elements 13 is executed in the administrator mode.
The available computer resources are rather large enough: CPU INTEL i7 4 cores, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD + 32GB SSD, Windows 8.1.

Thank you for the quick answer. In the meantime I found other way to pass by the problem. I increased the cache level up to the maximum value 8.
The errors reported as "No more virtual tiles can be allocated" vanish, but I still do not understand, why PSE 13 cannot work properly by the lower cache levels, having available maximum resources it needed (10443 MB RAM and 26.53GB SSD space for scratches), or cannot collaborate with the fast SSDs properly.

My iPhone 4 has lost SIM connection several times over the past week when the phone is left on continually. I have had the SIM checked and it was not the source of the problem. I have found that I can reactivate the SIM by switching the phone off and on again. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, is there an easy fix. I have been advised by Apple that the latest IOS update may overcome this situation but I'm only on slow download speeds and 690 Mb would take forever. I would appreciate any advice.
