D110A says pause all of a sudden. Using with my mac mini.

Don't know how to get it to work again.  Thanks so much for any help.

Hey @Mybabes67 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that your HP Photosmart e-All-in-One D110a Printer is showing as 'offline' on your Mac OS X 10.10 computer and fails to respond for you. I would like to work with you today with resolving this issue. Now on the Mac OS X 10.10 Operating System HP actually doesn't have a downloadable Full Feature Software and Driver download available for your model of printer. Therefore, we are reyling on the Apple Updates in order to load the driver functionality for your HP Photosmart. Can I please have you follow the steps below to get your HP printer up and running again for you.
Step 1: Uninstall Drivers:
To start, please click here to access the steps on how to properly uninstall the Software and Driver Package for your printer. Once the website opens select the dropdown for 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8, and OS X v10.9' as the steps are the same for your Mac OS X 10.10 Operating System. Please follow the steps on Resetting the Print System (Method one) and Uninstalling the Printer Software (Method Two). Once the reset and uninstall have completed successfully, please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Verify and Repair your Disk Permissions on the Mac:
Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
Go to the Utilities Folder
Open the Disk Utility
Select the Hard Drive volume you are using (usually on the left)
Select Verify Disk Permissions
Once that process is done, select Repair Disk Permissions
Step 3: Check for Apple Updates:
Go to Apple
Select System Preferences
Select Software Update
Click Update Now
Install your available updates
Restart your computer
Step 4: Manually Load HP Driver Package:
Please click here to access the Apple page for the HP Printer Drivers v3.0 package. Select the Download button when the website opens. Follow any onscreen prompts to complete the installation of the driver package.
Once the driver package has been loaded successfully, please proceed to the next step.
Step 5: Add The Printer:
1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
2. Click Print & Scan, and then check if the name of your printer displays in the Printers list.
3. Do the following, depending on if the printer is listed or not:
If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm communication with the Mac. Click the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer. Once the printer is removed, click the plus sign (), click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer
If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign (), click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer
4. Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu. Ensure that you select the HP Photosmart driver and not the Apple AirPrint driver.
5. Click Add to add the bonjour printer to the list.
6. Close Print & Scan
Now that your printer is successfully added in, please try to print again to verify that your printer issue has been resolved.

  • What type of monitors can I use with the Mac Mini?

    Hello,
I was thinking on purchasing a Mac Mini. I was not sure if the monitor I have at work with function with the Mac Mini. It is a: 20" ViewSonic Professional Series P815...
Does anyone know if this monitor will work with any Mac Mini? Is there an adapter for it?
    Thanks.

It would be fine for them all - all minis have come with DVI video connectors and adapters to convert that to VGA, so aside from the possibility that the Viewsonic might suffer the greyish or dull screen problem that affected a small(ish) proportion of displays with the first generation mini, it should connect up using the adapter just fine, and be correctly recognized by the system.

  • I want to link my Mac Mini through my independent hifi system, which forms part of my home tv system which is the monitor I am using with the Mac Mini. The hdmi cable I am using comes from the receiver of the tv. I cannot get sound from the Mac Mini. Do

I cannot link my new MacMini with my TV's sound system. It's a Pioneer screen & receiver with an independent Pioneer Amp. The Mac Mini does not pick up the sound through the hdmi cable, so how do I get sound going through the MacMini so I can appreciate the music and films I want to hear. Do I need another piece of Apple kit? I have seen 'Express' on Apples web site. Surely I dont have to pay for this as well?
I used to have an Apple TV box which had a seperate audio connection from my Pioneer Amp and it worked great.
    Help will be appreciated

The Mac Mini is going to be used for an Internet connection on the Pioneer Plasma/receiver so I can also play stored films from a seperate hard drive. The receiver has an HDMI connection which I have connected the Mac Mini too. the picture is fine, but there is no sound. I have checked the 'sound' settings on the Mac Mini and it registers the Pioneer PDP receiver is connected but states it has no audible connection?

  • What is a good third party display to use with the Mac Mini?

The Acer monitor I bought simply doesn't work with my first generation Mac-Mini. When connected to the VGA connection I get a "input not supported" message. When I connect the DVI, the screen blacks out when I scroll and then comes back, at first I thought it was just with Firefox but soon discovered it was with any application I used. After some research on the internet I discovered that there is a problem with the firmware design on the DVI's on Acer Monitors. My new Acer monitor is enjoying it's new home in my sisters office, on her desk, connected to the VGA plug on her computer, enjoying Windows XP.
At another web site for the Mac-Mini I was told that there are not that many displays that work for the Mac-Mini and I would be better off purchasing an Apple display, only problem is that the Apple displays are not within my budget. I would like some suggestions on this board from users as to what third party displays they use with a first generation Mac-Mini? I'm looking in the budget range of $200 to $250 dollars. I have a first generation Mac-Mini, Mac OS X Panther.
PS I have tried setting monitor resolutions using both the VGA and DVI plug, they don't work.
Thank you for any help I receive.

    Charles,
I cannot speak on behalf of hooking this model of monitor up to a mini, however I do have a 19" Planar monitor at home hooked up to an old G4 tower via VGA, and the 19" Planar monitor that I have at work is hooked up via digital to my G4 15" PowerBook. I love both of these Planar 19" LCD monitors, and have absolutely no complaints. Planar's three year warranty is nice, and their tech support is top notch. I had an issue with the monitor at work, and I had a replacement on my desk in two days. Returning the bad monitor in the pre-paid box that the new one came in made things effortless. We have a few Planar's in the school district that I work in, and have no major issues with any of them.
Not too sure what the most recent pricing is on this model, but CDW was selling them for around $225-$230 delivered right to your door.
    Hope this helps.

  • What keyboard to use with new mac mini 1.83

Hi. I need to share a compatible keyboard with PC and Mac mini. I have a PC and will add a Mini to the desk. I would like to use the same keyboard and mouse (I use Kensington Expert Mouse Pro -mac and PC-).
    The questions are:
    1) What keyboard is mac/pc compatible?
    2) What KVM/USB is mac/pc compatible (other than Flip)?
    For the KVM:
I was thinking using a D-Link USB KVM switch (DKVM-2U), but I am not sure if it is mac compatible. Then there's the Belkin switch (Flip), but I was looking something less expensive.
    Any comments, will be appreciated.
    Wilfredo.

    Hi
I use a cheap usb Belkin KVM between a PC and my mini and it works like a charm (hooked to white apple keyboard and no name usb wireless mouse); it's the simplest model from the Dektop Series, can't recall the exact reference though...
As for the keyboard it seems that your choice will depend from the way you use the two machines ; for instance I find the apple keyboard perfect for the mini (my main machine) and usable too on the pc side (mainly used for games)...Maybe for more specialized tasks you will prefer a - real - pc keyboard, that should work OK with the mini if your choice is not too exotic (multimedia keyboard with extended keys for example...) !

  • What is the best touch screen display to use with a Mac mini?

Hello, forgive me I am not an expert when it comes to technology. I am thinking of changing my work computer system to a Mac mini at the moment as we have limited space and love the design of the Mac mini. We currently have an outdated dell computer linked to an ELO touch screen as part of our till system. I was just wondering if there were any recommended touch screen monitors that work well (not to much driver hassle) with the mini and are thin and easy on the eye.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
    Many Thanks

Cannot view messaging on computer at my verizon all of a sudden. using messages

    Hi,
it is Not the phone.  It is the web app that I am having issues with.
When I try to login to the web app for the message+ integration, I cant even get to the web app at all, it just sits there with a moving clockwise circle for a minute and then I get the error message.
"your request has failed. please try again later"
I have spoken to tech support 4 times and diagnosed the phone and the phone is fine. tech told me that it is indeed the my verizon web app that is the issue.
My primary line is fine, bit my secondary line just started this error a few days ago.
We all pay a lot of money per month to not have this feature work.  I am not pleased at all right now. Tech support cannot figure out what the issue is with the web app.

Iv bought a touchpad app for my iPhone 5 to use on my Mac mini, all the functions work apart from the zoom one. How can I fix this please

Considering the app for the iPhone is for iOS, you may have problems using it on the Mac (Mac OS X)
    Two different operating sysems.
From iTunes for the touchpad app:
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 5.1 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

My guess is that you previously synced the iPhone with a different computer in the past. You will probably want to set up Home Sharing.

Make sure both computers are turned on and awake.
Connect a male-to-male Mini DisplayPort or ThunderBolt cable to each computer.
Press Command-F2 on the keyboard of the iMac being used as a display to enable TDM.
Note: In Keyboard System Preferences, if the checkbox is enabled for "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard functions keys," the key combination changes to Command-Fn-F2.

  • What is the latest OS I can use with a mac G5 with a dual 2.3 Ghz PowerPC G5 processor?

What is the latest OS I can use with a mac G5 with a dual 2.3 Ghz PowerPC G5 processor? Everything on my computer has been running so slowly in the last few weeks. Have I finally outgrown OS 10.4.11? Would there be some other problem that would sudden make all my speed take a nose dive? I have 8.5 gigs of RAM...  Please advise!
    Thanks!  Matthew

Everything on my computer has been running so slowly in the last few weeks.
First open Console in Applications>Utilities, see if you have reapeating messages.
How much Free Space do you have on the Hard Drive?
At this point I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15667/applejack
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
    Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

  • Can an iPod used with a Mac be charged on a pc?

I know that if you setup your iPod to be used with a Mac it can not be used on a pc. But, if I plug that iPod into a pc's usb port will it charge the iPod?
The main reason I'm asking is that I use a Mac at home and that is where I have all my iPod related media. At work I use a Dell laptop. I don't care about having the media on my work laptop. So, I am wondering if I can charge the iPod on the pc when I travel?
I know I can buy an ac charger but why spend money if I don't have to!

Thanks for the info. I was going to post this evening that I took my usb cable to the office and plugged it in. Since I don't have iTunes on the work pc it shows up as an external usb drive. Attempting to open the drive results in a dialog box that says the drive is not formatted. Looking at the iPod shows the battery charging.

  • Suddenly can't connect mac mini to internet without signing in

I suddenly have to go to system preferences everytime I want to get online with my mac mini. Other devices are working just fine. This is the main computer that the router is connected to. Anyone have a fix for this?

Test after taking each of the following steps. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Make sure the network is on the preferred list by following these instructions.
    2. Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading "Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly."
    3. Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
    4. From the Location menu at the top of the Network preference pane, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.
    5. Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    6. In some cases, the problem has been resolved by repairing permissions on the startup volume.
    7. Reinstall OS X.
