D300 photos not coming up

I just downloaded photos from my Nikon D300 yesterday. Today I looked for them and they are no longer listed in events or in library. They are Jpegs. I downloaded some new photo's today and they are only in recent download but not events. I went into Time Machine and it found the photo's only in recent download but not in library. What's up?

I'm still trying to learn the latest version of iPhoto myself, as it came out only a few months ago. Events are new and were introduced to replace Rolls, which are less easy to manipulate. The intent of Events is to provide an automatic way to organize your photos that you can freely modify. If you prefer to file everything away into labeled photos, Events will be less useful.
That said, you should be see an Events icon in the index pane of your iPhoto window and clicking on this should display all your Events as squares with rounded corners showing their first photos. Each import from your camera should then produce one or more events depending on how you have set your preferences. Clicking on an Event icon will then show all the photos in it.
You won't see Events in a folder display, since they are redundant. If you can't see them anywhere in iPhoto, then you may have something wrong with your library. I would suggest rebuilding the library database it by starting up iPhoto while holding down ⌘⌥ and clicking that option in the dialog box. Events are not essential, however.

Latest photos not coming across to iPhone 5 from iPhoto 11 :-(

What is wrong with iPhoto 11 and iPhone 5? iPhoto refuses to copy the latest images to my Iphone 5 (or my iPhone 5 is refusing to get the latest images from iPhoto 11). Most go over but for some reason the last few photos don't/wont go across. Some weirdly enough do come over but then they are in a jumbled order - different to whats in iPhoto. Very frustrating! I've tried everything to get them to go over. How do I resolve this issue?

Be warned though. After synced, successfully, with iTunes 11.1, i ended up with over 10GB's of 'Other' data on my iphone. I had to do a factory reset (From iTunes/iPhone/Summary). It's been a pain in the ***, but it all seems fine now. But it has taken me hours. An di now have a headache.
Also, a factory reset will remove ALL your data, and i mean EVERYTHING! You've spend the rest of the day putting everything back the way you like it, and setting up all your setting again.
Pain in the ***.

    •    Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
    •    Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
    •    Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.
Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)

Deleting photos stored under photos, not albums in photo app

I want to delete the large number of photos in within my iPad's photo app stored under photos, NOT those organized under albums in this app. How do I do this? I have checked Apple discussions etc with no success. It is taking up a lot of space on my iPad!

The photos that are shown under the Photos tab in the Photos tab are the same as are shown under Albums - it's just a way of viewing all of your photos on one screen, they aren't separate copies of the photos. So if you delete a photo from the Photos tab in the app, it will also be removed from its album.
To delete a photo from the iPad, then if it was taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc then you can delete them either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon top right of the box with the arrow coming out of it (Edit button on iOS 6) in thumbnail view. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing.
Note that if you've copied photos into new albums that you've created directly on the iPad, then effectively you've only created pointers to those photos and not created separate copies of them - so if you then delete the original photo, you will also be deleting all pointers to it (so it will be removed from all albums that you've 'copied' it into on the iPad).

Photos not sorted in iPAD from iphoto

I'm trying to sync my photos in iphoto 9.5 with my ipad but the photo sorting order not coming the same as it's sorted in iphoto?!!
Worth to mention, I just moved from my old MACbookpro to the latest one using time machine restore. in my old laptop all was working fine but since i moved to the new laptop the photo order got missed up even after sorting them correctly in iPhoto (View -> Sort photos -> by title).
Need urgent assitance as this is effecting my work.

Sharing between iPhoto and others apps is governed by a file in the Library package called the AlbumData.xml file. The other apps read this file to be aware of the iPhoto content. Your problem is here:
My iPhoto library is housed on an external NAS (Buffalo Tech) device.
When stored on a disk formatted anything except Mac OS Extended (Journaled) iPhoto can have problems formatting the XML file. Other folks report issues with saving edits and importing photos.
The only solution is to have your Library on a disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

PSE 9 Lasso tool - "Photo not responding"

I googled this before coming to the forum here. Apparently this is a problem for quite a few people with PSE 9. I was using PSE 8 on a trial, and I had no problems, no glitches. I can't buy a serial number for PSE 8, so I buy 9. The ONLY thing I need to be able to do with elements is cut out portions from my images. I only know how to do this with the lasso tool. Yet there appears to be a glitch with at least the download version of PSE 9.
What happens in PSE 9: with the standard lasso tool, I start to lasso the portion of the image - and after a few seconds the lasso line disappears, the screen drops down in order to create a line at the top of the screen that says "Photo Not Responding." Apart from the really annoying jog in the lasso now, I can no longer see the line, so have to lasso blind. It will continue to lasso - I just now have to do it without seeing anything and hope that when my screen dropped down I was at a portion of the picture that needed a straight line. This is amazingly frustrating.
Anyone know how to solve this problem?
The only solution I've found is one I don't understand. The user says:
"I was running the files from my NAS and elements does not load the whole photo into memory but runs from its primary location. As soon as this was copied locally the "non responding" was eliminated." ???? I have no idea what NAS is. What I do is open a picture from a folder in my pictures library on my computer.
And I know it's not a problem with RAM - PSE 8 worked just fine.

I have the same problem...about 98% of the time I use that lasso tool....I havent noticed if its the same photo that isnt responding...it seems to "jump" or something and it appears another photo is in the background behind the editor workspace....
If you figure it out I'd like to know how...blind lassoing is no fun lol....

Pictures not coming sharp with T3i

Hi all,I am a newbie with SLRs. The pictures from my Canon Rebel T3i is not coming sharp. I have tried both Aperture priority as well as Shutter priority modes. I am not sure if my settings are not right or if i am not focusing right. I have attached a pic that i took recently. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Jay

Hi Jay. I should have been more clear in my response. I don't see anything in the image files that would indicate there is a camera problem. Your Photo 2 was taken using Faithful Picture Style, which is intended for post processing. The sharpness in the file is "0". Adding some sharpness in DPP and a slight twaek to saturation gives more snap to the actual image. Your Photo 1 was taken usinging Landscape PS; which applies a sharpness of 4.Its hard to see exactly where the camera was focusing, but its somehwere behind the couple. Looks like it was in the trees. The pine needles seem sharp. It also looks like you are shooting a small file size (3.6MB) (Must be Small-Fine) I suggest setting camera to One Shot, Program, Standard Picture Style and Large-Fine jpeg (or even RAW if you can process it) and get a subject with good detail and have it fill the frame and then judge the image.

Jpg pictures not coming up from pc

Since the new updat to ios 4 i can't get my jpg pictures on my iphone 3gs. itunes days it sync but they don't show up...when i go to choose photo folders, its there but the pics won't show up there..so whats the deal..

Thank you chaitanya, Actually I am wondering if there is any dashboard for PC?? I am able to see reports in assessment tab but no dashboard.
Moreover in reports and analytics tab only AC related reports and dashboard is there, not sure why PC related not coming up.
I have added all the PC related roles to u user still no luck,

Why should you? Both, Photos and iPhoto, also Aperture can coexist peacefully.
Keep organizing your photos in iPhoto, while giving Photos a trial run. And when you are sure that Photos is what you want migrate your iphoto Libraries. But you may still want to use iPhoto for editing or adding Places to photos and similar.
So keep it installed.

Photos not showing in right order

Hi can anyone help I have a Sony z1 compact? When I take photos they are coming up in my photo album but 15 photos into the album. Each new photo is coming in the right order just not at the beginning. Haven't got a clue how I've done it and can't find any way that you can change the order of the photos. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank u

Photo's are by default arranged via date order - You can create a folder and separate the photo's that way via your Pc etc then view photo's via Folder

Please can any kindly souls offer advice at this busy time... I am trying to create a last-minute personalised gift for a beloved brother but have not yet succeeded in uploading my photos from this page:

I know it should be easy but when I hit upload and select my "photos" from drop down menu on left, there all my photos except the ones I carefully edited, saved and flagged in iPhoto earlier this evening- I have checked in iPhoto and they are still there, all flagged etc but not showing in finder. (grr!)
So I opened menu from iPhoto and clicked "make visible in Finder" option, saved them with distinctive names but they are still not coming up when I search those file names..
Please what else can I do?

You never access your photos in iPhoto using the finder - the iPhoto application totally replaces the finder for photos when you use it - you can select the photos in iPhoto and export to a desktop folder (see Exporting From iPhoto for export options) or you use the media browser available in every open/upload/attach window on the left under media==> photos ==> iPhoto - see How to Access Files in iPhoto for more details

I'm assuming you have performed a restore from an icloud backup...
Many users have lost photos while preforming a restore from backup or upgrading the iOS. Recall, only photos in the camera roll are backed up to iCloud. There is a way to turn backups for camera roll on/off, perhaps these users had camera roll turned off.
See:
Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage, tap the device's name and on the next screen, be sure Camera Roll is turned on.
IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream. If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.
If you haven't been saving photos except relying on iCloud to store them in a backup, then that is risky, as many users have discovered. I'm afraid I have no advice in this case - there is no "cure".
As for apps, you could always download them again from the itunes store, without charge. Look for the link to purchased apps, there you'll have a list of the ones you can download free.

I have Cube & DSO.
I added fields in DSO & Cube.
Cube1 has Aggregrates built on it.i added 5 infoobjects on it, Now when i load data from DSO to Cube(Request for reporting available) is not coming up. i cant do reporting on it. can anyone help.

Since aggregates are there on that cube....until and unless you do the roll up that request will not be available for Reporting...
