D3dx9_42.dll error with windows 8.1

Hi
I just got my new pc with windows 8.1 and when I try to play games (In this case with Civ 5) I get a
d3dx9_42.dll error,
I have read that you can fix this by installing the latest DirectX drivers but windows 8.1 install DirectX with windows update so I cant find a download for 64 bit windows 8.1.
Please help

Any idea on the following dump? I am getting a BSOD every 30 minutes or so. I am running Windows 8.1 on an HP machine.

  • HT1923 msvcr80.dll error on Windows 7

I began with a msvcr80.dll error on Windows 7. Searching I discovered it was iTunes giving me grief so I attempted to uninstall it.
I tried the steps on an Apple web page (can't find it now but it is the same here: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/msvcr80-dll-not-found-missing -error.htm
This didn't work for me. The C:\Program Files\Bonjour and both C:\Program Files\Commons\Apple folders would not delete. I tired to use an unlocker too wihtout success. Those extra files all refused deletion.
Everytime I try download the new version of iTunes for re-installing it gives the option to save but when clicked it goes directly to a "you have downloaded successfully" page but it isn't in my downloads. I have tired several times.
Now I have uninstalled iTunes, still have the missing file error and no access to iTunes for home or work!
I am completely stumped and extreamly frustrated. Any ideas how I can fix this error, install iTunes correctly please?
Any ideas how I got this in the first place too?
    Thank you

Hello< I have windows 7, I tried to install the new itunes version, last night 1/30/14, Im getting msvcr80.dll error 7 (windows error  126). Does anyone have a remedy for this? When I try to uninstall the ituned program it says it can't be found and to make sure I have permission to uninstall.

Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. I did the following:
    1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replaced)
    2) Restarted computer and still got error message
    3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
    4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not recomment in their posted solutions but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
    5) Restarted computer.
    6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try.

  • TS1717 On Windows Vista and tried several times to start up my iTunes, but keep getting 'application failed MSVCR80.dll error-7 (windows 126) is this an easy fix ...?

On Windows Vista and tried several times to start up my iTunes, but keep getting 'application failed MSVCR80.dll error-7 (windows 126) is this an easy fix ...?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

only nomal audio but no support from the surround sound of 5.1 channel SPDIF what the error may attend
I hope you can help me
    Sincerely,

maybe your spdif default properties, in the supported format tab, options there are configured too high for your revceiver???
is there an error code on your receiver?  if there is an error code check the troubleshooting section in the manual your receiver came with.
you could also try in windows media center, go to the tasks->settings and click windows media center setup->setup your speakers for 5.1 and hit the test button..

  • Current iTunes MSVCR80.dll, Error 7 (windows error 126): SOLVED.

Dear avid iTunes users - I have cracked it!!!
The response from Apple/iTunes was extremely poor and did not solve the problem.
I have a look in msconfig and observed which applications/services were running - one of which was the 'Apple Application Support'
So ... I had a look at what was in this folder and found the APS Daemon.exe file causing all the trouble.
So ... I simply deleted the Apple folder found in C:\program files\common files\.
I did a restart and did not get the MSCVCR80.dll or Error 7 (windows 126) error messages.
I reinstalled the current version of iTunes (for the 16th time!)
    Hey presto!!!
    IT WORKED :-O Woooohooo!!!
So ... to all those smarty-pants boffin-brianiacs out there (apple/iTunes): this is how you do it!!!!!!!!!!
YOU DO NOT NEED TO UNINSTALL ALL THE APPLE/QUICKTIME OR RELATED PROGRAMS - JUST DELETE THE APPLE FOLDER IN THE C:\PROGRAM FILES DIRECTORY.
    Nuff said.

  • Hi,i have dificult to acces on itune.the avfoundationCF.dll error 7 (windows error 126) is missing from my computer.how to reinstal the program, thanks for your help

hi i have adifficult to acess itune. the avfoundationCF.dll is missing on my laptop error 7( windows error 126).how to reinstal it,thanks for your help

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • Instaling iTunes and getting and error MSVCR80.DLL, Error 7 (Windows error 126)

I'm installing the iTunes app and keeping getting errors.
first error to appear is the "MSVCR80.DLL"  and the second Error 7 (Windows error 126)
Any clues to the next stpes to resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    N

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

  • C:\windows\system32\d2d1.dll error. Windows 7 ultimate, can't use half of my applications.

Built a pc a while ago, ever since I installed windows 7 ultimate, a genuine copy with key. I have been getting the following
error: C:\windows\system32\d2d1.dll is either not designed to run on windows, or it contains an error.
Can anyone PLEASE help me resolve this issue, it has been driving me crazy, I can't use steam in big picture mode, use my
mouse customization software, or windows movie maker, and many more.
Or is my only option a fresh install of windows 7? Because I no longer have possession of the disc/key.
    Thanks for your help.

I installed windows successfully but when I inserted the leopard installation disc, the following error occurred:
    "Windows Installer Installation Wrapper
This package requires a newer version of the windows installer. Do you want to update the version of the windows installer on your system?"
When I clicked yes the following error message occurred:

I click OK then the installation stops. I can't see any way around this...
    Can anybody help?
PS: I posted this earlier but something is really broken with my account and I seem to have two aliases. Sorry!

    Try this -
When you device is POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery. This make a reboot to your device which minor issues with the BlackBerry device.
After performing about try downloading the Windows Live Messenger again.

  • ITunes error with Windows 7

I have reinstalled iTunes numerous times and checked my windows 7 for bad dll, I keep getting the iTunes.exe-Bad Image error followed by Error 7 (Windows error 193) can anyone actually help?
It worked for a while then all of a sudden when I attached my iPhone the error started.

Okay ... so it's apparently not a "ghost" copy of usbaapl64.sys stuck on your system and causing grief.
Turning back our attention to the Apple Mobile Device Service ... it depends on the TCP/IP Protocol Driver and the IPSEC Driver on a PC. (At least it does on an XP Pro or Home system.)
We'd better check to see if they appear to be functioning properly on your PC.
Head back into your Device Manager. Go "View > Show Hidden Devices". Now expand "Non-Plug and Play Drivers". *Don't change anything in there ... We're just having a look.*
Are there any alert messages showing up next to your TCP/IP Protocol Driver or IPSEC Driver in there? If so, what do they say?
