D3dx9_42.dll error with windows 8.1

Question

Hi 
I just got my new pc with windows 8.1 and when I try to play games (In this case with Civ 5) I get a 
d3dx9_42.dll error, 
I have read that you can fix this by installing the latest DirectX drivers but windows 8.1 install DirectX with windows update so I cant find a download for 64 bit windows 8.1. 
Please help

Any idea on the following dump? I am getting a BSOD every 30 minutes or so. I am running Windows 8.1 on an HP machine.
