D610 tethering issue. No Camera detected.

Hey All,
I have searched around this forum and cannot find an answer. I am having an issue with LR not detecting my D610. If i remove all SD cards, switch off, then back on, it will detect the D610, but only for one shot, then loses detection. I am operating LR ver. 5.7.1 and Mac Yosemite 10.10.2.  This is driving me nuts. I have also turned off the auto import feature on the D610, as suggested in another post, but it still does not work.
Please help.

  • Nikon D600 tethering issue. Camera Not detected.

Every time i try to tether, a box pops up saying lightroom could not tether and try restarting or disconnecting. This happens every time. Ive restarted and disconnected multiple times. All the software is up to date. It was working for a while but then just stopped.

    Try a different cable?
Try without the card in the camera?

  • "No Camera Detected" when try tethered shooting

    Setup:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bits
Lightroom 3.3(just updated to the latest version)
Nikon D700 / D3s (supported according to this)
    Problem:
When I connect any of my cameras (D700 / D3s) to my computer and fire up LightRoom and try to do a Tethered shooting, I get a "No Camera Detected" on the tethered shooting bar.
    Notes:
    - The cable works and the Windows driver works as my cameras are detected by Windows, show up in the devices list and I can browse the CF card content from the computer, so it is not a cable problem. It might be a driver issue with lightroom...
    - USB Mode: the D700 and D3 series only have PTP mode, no USB Mass storage (MSC Mode), so suggestions to turn on USB Mass Storage mode are just not going to work.
    - Both the D700 and D3 are listed as compatible cameras for tethered shooting in Adobe release notes
Any ideas / fix / suggestions appreciated.
    Thanks.

Initially when I read this I was hopeful.  But after following the steps - I still got the same results - No Camera Detected.
    Environment:
Dell Core I5 Inspiron Laptop (new)- got it to do tethered capture on location.
    Windows 7 home premium
LightRoom 4.2 (just purchased 2 weeks ago)
    Nikon D300s
Initially when I connected my Nikon D300s - it worked perfectly with LR 4.2.  Weeks prior to that the D300s tethered perfectly to my desktop computer (Windows 7 Home Premium; LR 3.6) as well.
After about 30 photos while tethered to the laptop (all photos transferred to the LR 4.2 on the laptop) - I took a break and disconnected (not positive I did - may have left connected) the camera.  Later I re-attached and got the no Camera Detected Message.  Tried switching USB cables(to Nikon's supplied USB cable).  No camera detected.   Tried switching USB ports - same result.  In both instances Windows detected the camera and reported its battery life and space remaining on the card.
Found this posting, logged on as Admin and went through the steps, all of the services were already set to Automatic except RPC Locator. Set it to automatic  and saved.  Rebooted started LR and a tethered connection and connected the camera.  Windows detected it as before, but LR was clueless.  Realized that I had closed WIA before going to next step.  Started Services and repeated steps this time leaving WIA open after opening each service.  Set RPC Locator to manual and applied and then set to |Automatic and applied.  Went through steps, then clicked OK on WIA.  Closed out Services and rebooted.  Started up LR, opened Tethered Connection and attached camera.  No camera detected.  In all cases I tried depressing the shutter button half way to see if it awoke LR Tethered connection.
Decided to try the D300s on my Desktop (with LR 3.6).  Got the same results.  Windows 7 recognized the camera, and LR was clueless.  To me this strongly points to a problem with the camera, except that Windows recognized the camera both times - thus the USB port seems to e working fine.  Read through the D300s menu options in case there was a setting there that I had missed.  I didn't see anything relevant (plus I hadn't messed with it while Tethered).
So right now I'm up the creek with an on site session looming the horizon!

We'll know when it happens, Lucht - software companies don't make support promises in advance.

  • Tethered Capture stopped working –"No Camera Detected"

    Windows 7 (64bit)
    Lightroom 3.3
    Canon 7D – Latest firmware 1.2.3
Yesterday I had Tethered Capture working a treat. No problems at all.
Today I have attempted to use it – exactly the same set up as yesterday and Lightroom refuses to see the camera – it just says “No Camera Detected” in the Tethered Capture pop-up.
Windows can see the camera, and shows the CF card content in Windows Explorer. The Canon utility can see the camera. Even Lightroom can see the camera and can import from the CF card in the camera.
Whenever the USB cable is connected, if I look through the viewfinder and press the shutter a flashing busy light comes up, and no photo is taken. Makes me wonder what the camera is doing? Is it perhaps looking for an application on the PC to talk to?
Yesterday it was running fine with the USB cable plugged into a hub, I tried with it connected directly to the PC but it didn’t help.
I even tried removing power from the PC and restarting Windows – that usually fixes anything :-)
I have Googled and searched these forums but have found nothing that helps.
Is this an Adobe problem, a Canon problem – or am I doing something daft?
    Anyone any thoughts?
    Many thanks,
    RzB

OK - so today I bring the camera and tripod back to the PC today, and hey presto - is all starts working again.
The PC had not even been restarted since it wasn't working yesterday.
Anyone got any ideas why it might not have been working yesterday?
    Thanks,
    RzB

Hi guys, I just installed Light room 5 and try to use the tether funtion from Light room 5. But it shows "No Camera Detected" I checked the USB cable and it is connected correctly. Is there any solutions to fix that? Or Lr 5 does not suport Nikon D3000? Please help!!! Thank you!

Tethered support for the D3000 is not available in Lightroom.

  • Tethering issue lightroom 4.4 and Nikon D800

I'm having trouble tethering my Nikon D800 to Lightroom 4.4.
Attempts at tethering mostly produce "No Camera Detected" after File > Tethered Capture in Lightroom.
There have been some occasions however when the camera was detected and tethering functioned for a short while.
These successful occasions happened using the same approach and equipment.
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Version 6.1 (with i7) and both camera and Lightroom have been updated.
    From Terry: [email protected]

Thanks for the help. I have made progress this way: I updated the drivers for the Nikon D800 on the computer. Lightroom and Nikon's ViewNX2 were already fully updated. This didn't help. I deleted NikonView, restarted, and found the problem gone. Lightroom tethers as it should without ViewNX2 on the machine. This is still a mystery to me but I can tether.

  • [Consolidation-Locked] Nikon D800 - No Camera Detected

Im trialing Lightroom 4 with my new Nikon D800 with the possiblility of purchasing this software if this its going to work. When I connect my D800 it says "no camera detected". Is there a patch or something missing from the software? Can't believe a new Camera like this has an isse. Or is it just me ;-)

I'll take that bet, Butch - I've been in the Capture One club for a long time, and they do take their time with stuff like this.
Bear in mind too that you only get any tethering support if you use the $299 Capture One Pro - the stripped-down (at $99, closer to Lr's price of $149) Capture One Express has no tethering support whatsoever.
And with either Cap One product, you've got to put your hand in your pocket again for a DAM solution.

At this point in time Apple supports tethering for 60 camera and C1 supports more than that spanning five different brands ...

  • Lightroom 4 with Windows 8 and Nikon D3, no camera detected

I updated my windows 7 to Windows 8 and now as I try to use Tethered Capture in Lightroom with my Nikon D3 camera, there's it that No camera detected. In other computer where's Windows 7 it works very fine. I can operate my camera from computer and, all my pictures appears in Lightroom, as it shoud do. But, no with that other computer, where I have Windows 8. Can anyone has some information what should be done?  Or, should I just instal Windows 7 again?
I am very pleased for answers that could help me. Thanks in advanced.

  • Issue with camera it says "there is no connected camera" in may macbook pro

issue with camera it says "there is no connected camera" in may macbook pro

I got that error from PhotoBooth, no connected camera.
After messing around with all the usual suggestions (reset PRAM, repair permissions, etc.), I tried plugging in an external USB camera (happened to be a ProScope) and - for no apparent reason - the internal iSight camera sprang to life and has been working fine ever since.
Worth a try - any USB camera should do it.

  • Possible GPU Issues With Camera Raw 6.6

Over the past day on my Windows 7 x64 workstation I've done some updates.  Specifically:
The Adobe updater brought in Camera Raw 6.6, replacing 6.5.
I updated the to the ATI Catalyst 11.12 display driver version from previous version 11.11.
I allowed Windows Update to apply the dozen or so changes that were pending.
I was just doing some OpenGL testing with Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 x64 and I noticed that under some conditions I saw Photoshop drop out of OpenGL acceleration.  Specifically, when I opened a Canon 5D Mark II image through Camera Raw I saw subsequent operations stop using OpenGL acceleration even though the checkmark remained in the [  ] Enable OpenGL Drawing box in Edit - Preferences - Performance.
What I did to determine whether OpenGL acceleration was enabled was this:  Select the Zoom Tool, then click and hold the left mouse button on the image.  When OpenGL is enabled, I see a smooth increase in zoom.  When it goes disabled, I see only a jump in zoom level after letting up the mouse button.  Also, the [  ] Scrubby Zoom box gets grayed out.  As I mentioned, even in this condition, a check of Edit - Preferences - Performance still shows OpenGL enabled.
Just as a control, I saved the converted file as a PSD, and every time I opened THAT file (with a fresh copy of PS CS5 running) and did the same operations I could not reproduce the failure.  The difference being I did not run Camera Raw.
Since I wasn't specifically looking for issues with Camera Raw, I am not sure that the problem occurred every time I did run Camera Raw.  I do know that when I open images from my own camera (40D; I do not own a 5D Mark II) that the problem doesn't seem to occur.  Notably I always open my image from Camera Raw to the largest possible pixel size - 6144 x 4096, as I did with the 5D Mark II image, so it's not an obvious size difference that's leading to the issue.  Given other comments of late, I'm wondering if it could be a specific issue with conversions of files from 5D Mark II.
Nor am I sure whether any of the above updates caused it - it might done this before; I don't regularly convert 5D Mark II images.  I DO think I would have noticed Photoshop reverting to GDI operation before, since I just noticed it pretty easily, but I'm not completely sure of that either.  I do use OpenGL-specific features (such as right-click brush sizing) pretty often.
I'm trying now to find a set of steps with which to reliably reproduce the problem now, and will advise.
    -Noel

Figures.  Now I can't reproduce the problem at all, even after an hour of testing.  It probably had nothing to do with Camera Raw.
I wonder if there are latent GPU status indicators and config values stored by Photoshop based on its specific environment that might not be right for the first run (or first few runs) after a display driver update.  Hm....

  • No Camera Detected

Ok I know this has been asked a few times in various formats.  All of a sudden, Photo Booth says "No Camera Detected" when I open it.  I've tried different user, different applications, SMC etc.....  I still get "No Camera Detected".  This is so frustrating becasue it was just working a couple of days ago.  Any help would be appreciated...

If you hold down the option key and select System Information... from the Apple menu, do you see the FaceTime (or iSight) camera listed under Hardware>USB? Should look something like this:
    FaceTime HD Camera (Built-in):
      Product ID:    0x8509
      Vendor ID:    0x05ac  (Apple Inc.)
      Version:     5.16
      Serial Number:    DJHBCQ05AWDH7HL0
      Speed:    Up to 480 Mb/sec
      Manufacturer:    Apple Inc.
      Location ID:    0xfa200000 / 2
      Current Available (mA):    500
      Current Required (mA):    500
If not, try restarting to see if the system can 'locate' the camera. If it still doesn't show up, it's time for a trip to your local Apple Store or an AASP.
