D700 to CS4 Embedded Profile Not There

Opening D700 images, shot in either sRBG or Adobe RBG, CS4 Bridge it says RBG Untagged.  Opening in PS no profile comes over.  Nikon ViewNX properly displays the embedded profile.  Any thoughts?

Hello Sharma Siddharth,
no, there are no changes, the default path is stil the same:
...\sapmnt\<SAPSID>\SYS\profile.
(just taken from the installation guide for NW 730 here: https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001259942010E)
When you say "/sapmnt/<sid>/profle is pointing to central instance profile", I believe there should be a misunderstanding of the concept of ths profile directory. Or maybe this is a HA installation? Dual Stack?
There are different scenarios where such confusion might take place, please double check.
But the answer for your question is definetly no, there's no change to the profile directory in NW 730 systems.
However, if you're referring explicitly to the start profile, be aware that there's no more start profile in NW 730. If you're upgrading your system, the upgrade process merges the old start profile with the new intance profile, FYI.
I hope this information helps.
Best regards,
Tomas Black

  • Printer profile not there and brings into preview

When I go to print, the printer profile for my Epson is not in the list. I know it's not on the computer, why is it not on the CS5 list?
Then I click print and it print the image into Preview instead of printing on the epson. Why is that? thanks!

Be sure to look HARD DRIVE>Library>Color Sync>Profiles folder and not the USER>Library>Color Sync>Profiles.
That tripped me up a bit a few weeks back.
That's what the convention dot slash ./ means, the Root Level, as opposed to the tilde ~ which stands for the User Library.

You would need Camera Raw 7.3 or later to open those files. Adobe is not going to update CS4. You can either get a newer version of Photoshop that comes with a current version of Camera Raw, or you can use the DNG converter to save your files down to the ACR version that works with CS4.

  • Embedding Profiles -- Illustrator CS4

I'm working on a packaging job being sent to a printer in Japan who requires files to have Japan Color 2001 Coated embedded.
I'm bringing PSD files into Illustrator and overlaying the package panels over a Die Template.  The PSD files have the correct profile already embedded.  Rather than linking or placing, I'm simply opening the PSD file in Illustrator, and copy pasting over the Die Template document, which has worked best in the past.  The PSD files are flattened to one layer.
The problem I'm running into is this...
I have Illustrator's working space set to the correct Japan Color profile.  I am also assigning the Japan Color profile in Illustrator to be double sure.
But when I close and reopen the AI file, I get a dialog box telling me "this document does not have an embedded CMYK profile".  So I assign the correct profile, save and close.  When I open the file again, I get the same dialog box -- no embedded profile.
I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong -- why the profile I'm assigning exactly in the way instructed in the "Illustrator Help" pages... is not staying embedded in the file.
    Any help really appreciated!  Thanks.

I am also assigning the Japan Color profile in Illustrator to be double sure.
    Try not doing this.
If your workspace is already correctly set, it is a superfluous action. On the face of it, reassigning the existing profile sounds benign, but it might be triggering some bug in AI 14.
We are talking about an .ai and not an .eps document, right?

  • Cs4 crash with tiff with embedded profile rec709

I exported a TIFF sequence from After Effects CS3 with the REC709 embedded color profile.  Previously in Photoshop CS3 I had no problem opening the tiffs with the color profile.
I recently installed CS4 and now Photoshop CS4 crashes hard if I attempt to open the file and use the embedded profile.  If I discard or convert the profile, it is fine, but if I use the embedded profile it crashes.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks

I can crash it without an image.
    Just load Photoshop.
Go to Edit -> Color Settings...
    Click "More Options"
In the 'Working Spaces' area, pull the drop down list for "RGB" and select "HDTV (Rec709)"
As soon as I select it, it crashes.  I don't even have to hit OK before it crashes.
I have PS 11.0.1 (installed from Production Premium with the rest of the apps)
I also installed the Red camera plug-ins for Premiere and After Effects.  I don't know if this does anything to Photoshop, but just in case.  Also, the color management in After Effects seems to work fine.
I will see if I can make a small image to upload.

  • PS CS6 not embedding profiles, despite checked boxes for them

Something happened to my system in early April, and I've only just realized it. If I check my photos online with Jeffrey's Exif Viewer, it shows an alert message that the JPEG image is tagged as sRGB but has no profile embedded. I've tried saving it through the Save For Web module and out through "Save AS", both with the option to have the profile embedded CHECKED. Nothing seems to work. My older images, from before early April all show up in Jeffrey's EXIF Viewer as having embedded profiles.
Some color shift problems that I noticed recently led to my use of the exif viewer and this discovery.
I reinstalled Photoshop, and that didn't change anything. FWIW, exporting from Lightroom 4.4 embeds the profiles, though there I don't have a checkbox to control it (that I can see).

Hi. Because the forum you originally posted in is for beginners trying to learn the basics of Photoshop, I moved your question to the Photoshop General Discussion forum.

  • CS4: When I open a file, it's not there until I open a second file.

When I open an Illustrator CS4 file, everything is there but the file. The panel has the name of the file, the layers are there. But I don't see the file itself. I have to open up a second Illustrator file, then toggle back to my first file. Then I see the files. This happens almost all the time.

  • Files with embedded profiles shown as untagged in Bridge.Bridge only right about files saved from PS

Photoshop works perfectly when saving files as .psds etc. or PDF-Standards (PDF-X etc.), embedding the profiles correctly. However, InDesign and Illustrator do not embed any colour profiles in .pdfs, in their native formats (.indd and .ai) or any other format apart from .jpg.
Why is Photoshop working perfectly, yet AI and INDD are not? Everything was installed at the same time, and the colour management settings are all synchronised in bridge.
All I want to be able to do is save as one of the default PDF-X settings (via File > Save As in Illustrator), but as I said, saving as the same PDF-X standard across all 3 programs only embeds the profile if saved from Photoshop. I don’t have the slightest clue why Photshop is the only one that works.
Although, according to this post, which seems very similar to my question, it might be Adobe Brdige CS5 that is wrong: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3565578
Because I have files that Bridge shows as untagged, which upon opening do in fact have an embedded colour profile. Ugh, this stuff is confusing!

Thanks so much for your help, I didn't know any of those things. Very interesting.
In regards to Photoshop rasterizing PDFs, what exactly are the ramifications of that? A PDF-X saved from Photoshop is still fine to send to the print press, right?
So far, all the print work I do I design in the colour space specified by my printer, then save as a PDF-X1a (which is also what they specify), by doing 'Save As' in Illlustrator. I also name the file with the colour space, and my printer has not had any problems with this.
The reason I'm asking about colour management, is that I may start expanding into the area of designing adverts for newspapers and magazines, and this involves different colour spaces. And newspapers etc. around here won't be as fussy about colour management as my print-press, which is a very good print company. So it would be better if I knew they were getting PDFs from me with embedded colour profiles.
I think the situation is that when I save things with embedded profiles, that it does in fact work, despite what Bridge, Illustrator and InDesign say. I have .ai files that show up in Bridge as untagged, but when opened in Illustrator, do indeed have an embedded colour profile.
It's very confusing to know what's going on.
A rather non-technical workaround, which alot of people seem to use, is just designing the file in the correct colour space, saving the file in that colour space, naming the file with that colour space, and then when it gets to the printer/magazine/newspaper etc. hoping that (A) there is colour profile data in the file that people can see at the destination or (B) the people at the destination know from the file name that you designed it in the correct space, and so they just Assign Profile at their end, and all is well.
I mean, what's the alternative, I can't suddenly stop using Illustrator and InDesign, and doing ALL my work in Photoshop, just because of what Bridge says!

  • PS CS with color space set to Prophoto RGB - will ACR change embedded profiles?

Probably a foolish question but my problem is that I have a mixture of files:
My own files (all initially RAW (NEF) which I import into ACR as 16 bit Prophoto RGB ).
Files from family members and from slide scanning performed elsewhere - they are in 2 groups:
The first of these from elsewhere acquired files were all JPEGs that I converted to Tiffs in Bridge before setting out to edit them-- all unfortunately 8bit and sRGB.
The scanned files were scanned as tiffs but also 8bit and sRGB.
My normal procedure is that I in ACR I have set the files to 16 bit and Prophoto RGB. In PS the same but also to preserve embedded profiles. I have the impression that working with the "foreign" files in 16 bit does give me more room for editing but that I should continue with the embedded profiles.
Is there a way to ensure that the color profiles are not changed in ACR even if the line in the middle below says 16 bit Prophoto RGB (I have PS CS5). I would hate to have to change this line each time I view a file in ACR. I would hate more to loose the editing facilities in ACR as these acquired files do need som special care before they are mixed with my own in our family albums. I prefer the 16 bit Prophoto RGB option for my own files as I like to play with them - i.e. apart from including them in Photo Albums.
I do see that a logical way is to process all the acquired files before going to my own files but it is so much more practical for me to work with a mixture of the files sorted chronologically - a year or month at the time.
I would even consider getting an upgrade to CS6 if this version could help me.
    Can someone enligthen me?
    Thanks, Git

    Hi, Tom.
The real issue here is getting accurate color. You can't get accurate color by setting your monitor profile to sRGB. sRGB is a virtual color space that doesn't describe the exact color gamut of any physical device. But, in order to display sRGB or any color space accurately, you need to get a characterization of your monitor.
Here is an AWESOME way to get access to a colorimeter: http://www.lensrentals.com/rent/pantone-huey-colorimeter Looks like for $32 you can rent this for a week. Go in on this with a friend and profile both of your monitors and hardly pay a thing. If you have a reasonably good quality LCD monitor, this custom profile you make will be fairly accurate for many months. At the very least, this is way more accurate than having no regular calibration at all.
    Hope this helps!

  • Exporting without embedding profile

I want to export some files for printing by a service bureau using a custom profile which is 1.87 MB and do no not want to embed the profile. The images will then be sent directly to the printer without any adjustments and the profile is not needed. This is an option in Photoshop, but I have not found a way to do this in Lightroom. Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on the lab or service. In CMYK workflows, folks by and large just send the numbers within the data to the device as is. The only use for an ICC profile would be if someone wants to open the image and view it correctly (or edit it). In such workflows, it is common for such shops to receive maybe hundreds of output ready CMYK files. Even at 1mb per image, it adds up. Even so, unless bandwidth is an issue, I still recommend an embedded profile. In the very old days (1990’s) some old RIPs would barf on an embedded profile so people stripped them out. I seriously doubt those RIPs are still running and if so, I’d be worried to work with such a shop.
Lab’s that can accept output ready RGB should work the same way. But there are far more labs that expect sRGB and if the OP sent data in something other than sRGB, the front end would make a mess of the output. You’d want an embedded profile assuming the front end can even recognize it and pop some alert.
Perhaps I should have mentioned that I am not dealing with a full service lab, but rather my local Costco which has custom profiles on DryCreek.com. The local personnel do not know a lot about color management, but there is an option on uploading to print the files with no adjustments and they are sent directly to a Fuji Frontier printer. I do most of my more important printing with my Epson 3880, but send small prints to Costco and have have good results without embedded profiles saved as such from Photoshop.
I have sent some prints to CostCo using their custom profiles and left the profile in place.  The CostCo I used simply ignored the embedded profile.

  • Nikon D700, beta vs. final profiles

I have just installed Camera Raw 5.2 plus final release of color profiles.
For my Nikon D700, I noticed that the beta versions of the camera profiles are closer to the Nikon rendition.
    - Final profiles are slightly more bluish;
    - Final profiles show some highlight clipping, that's not there in beta versions and Nikon's rendition.

    Hi Eric,
Don't know your Adobe email address. I have sent a link to download the NEF to the email address on your personal home page.

  • IDOC not there in WE02

    Hi Gurus,
I am doing a FILE TO IDOC scenario for taking Material Master data from the MDM system and posting the IDOC into the R/3 system..
The entry is there in MONI with the chequred flag but there is no IDOC in we02 of the R/3 system.
Also , i pasted the payload from teh MONI and checked in the mapping and the test was shown to be successful.
Can Anyone please tell me what can be the cause and its probable solution?
    Thanks in advance,
    Shweta.

    (1) Error Category - CO_TXT_OUTBINDING_NOT_FOUND
The problem is in Technical routing.
Check whether the receiver determination and interface determination objects are active in change lists tab. If they are not active, activate the objects.
Also check the if the receiver determination and interface determination objects are referenced to the same namespace or not. Sender and receiver interface objects should always refer to the same Namespace.
    (2) Error Scenario - ATTRIBUTE_IDOC_METADATA
Check the receiver communication channel (Created using IDOC adapter). In this communication channel check if the two mandatory parameters are passed correctly.
Following is further info on those two mandatory parameters.
(i)Check if the RFC destination which is created in XI to connect the target SAP R/3 system is working fine.
(ii)Check if the port that has been created in XI is in the form SAP<SID of R/3 system>. If not, create in the form of SAP<SID of R/3 system>. To this port, specify the above RFC Destination.
    (3) Error Scenario - IDOC not yet created in target SAP R/3 system.
Go to R/3 system and check at Tcode WE05 if the IDOC has been created successfully. If error is u2018"Partner profile not configured" check point 9.
Suppose IDOC did not get created at R/3 end and all the pipeline steps were successful in SXMB_MONI, then go to Tcode : IDX5 in XI and click on Transaction ID field and check the status description which explains the problem.
    (4) Error Scenario - Partner profile not configured.
Go to Tcode WE20 in R/3 system and check if the partner profile has been configured correctly and is filled with the inbound parameters.

  • Everything correct, but the images are not there

Ok, with the podcast I do, All Things Gaming throught www.upstatefighting.com, I went throught and added the album art for the cast in the feed that we use.  I checked in the store, and the image shows up.  But when I resubscribe to the podcast, the album art does not show up in my iTunes browser.  When I check the file info for a podcast, the album art is not there.  Do I have to embed the file in the music file before uploading, or do I just used the url for the image and it auto embeds when the podcast is uploaded.
I did check the forums here for any similar problem one might have, but nothing seemed to fit what I was dealing with.

    XelNaga wrote:
Will that also take care of the image that is listed under the title of the podcast?
Not sure whether you're referring to the Store or subscribing, which are quite different. On the Store page the image is referenced in the feed, in the 'itunes:image' tag. When subscribing, the image which appears at bottom left is embedded in the episode, so it can be different depending on which episode is selected: if you have 'grid view' selected the image which appears in the top section is that embedded in the top episode.

  • Just bought a new computer and downloaded itunes again and when I log in all my old music is not there.  I created a new playlist but it won't sinq to iphone without erasing all my other songs.

I just bought a new computer and set it up.  Downloaded itunes again and logged in; however, all of my old content is not there.  I just created a new playlist and want to sinq it to my phone but get a message saying it will delete all of my old songs.  Please help

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • Getting EDI:Partner profile not available.

    Hi,
I am a newbie to SAP XI. As I am doing File to IDOC scenario, I am getting error - EDI:Partner profile not available.
    <u><b>My Scenario details</b>:</u>
    1. Created RFC Destination, RFC port, logical System and Partner profile in both Sender (XI) as well as Receiver(SAP R/3) systems.
    2. Created SWCV, Technical sys, Business Systems in SLD. I used the Logical system created (for SAP R/3) on XI system in my business system.
    3. Created Data type, Message type, Message interface, Message Mapping and Interface mapping in Integration Repository and activated them.
    4. Imported IDOC from SAP r/3 system during Namespace creation and used it for mapping.
    5. used Integration Directory wizard to create Communication channels, Sender & Receiver agreements, Receiver Determination, Interface Determination.
    6. Creaed a new business service for sender and added "Adapter Specific Identifier with Logical system created (for SAP R/3) on SAP XI.
    7. Activated all Standard Change list items.
The file for the above Scenario has been picked up amd i am getting "Chequered Flag" on both ends in "SXMB_MONI" monitor. When i change over to SAP R/3 to check idocs created (i.e., T.code - we05) my scenario idoc status is 56 and it says.. Status; Idoc with errors added.
I  have gone through many of the forum suggestions and blogs regarding this issue, but still not able to resolve my problem.
can somebody suggest me solution please.
    Thanks,
    Vijay.

    Hi,
<i>6. Creaed a new business service for sender and added "Adapter Specific Identifier with Logical system created (for SAP R/3) on SAP XI.</i>
    >>>Check this for Reciever Business System.. not for Sender system..
BTW, if you get chequered flag in XI, then idoc data is sent from XI. Can you check  all the data from XI is populated in the idoc structure in SAP R/3 in we05...by clicking each segment.. if so, then there is no problem from XI..
check WE20 ..partner profile configuration in R/3 also check inbound parameters are given
