DA0005 Unable to create connection

We have just installed Business Objects XI R2.  The BO client is installed on Citrix.  Yesterday we had this DA0005 error when running a query connected using our Test Citrix server.  Changing permissions on the Oracle folder seemed to fix it.
But today we find we have the same problem again.
We can successfully run queries logged on as a Citrix Administrator but normal users cannot run queries.  We have checked all the permissions we can think are  relevant & as I say, yesterday this worked.
I realise this must be a permissions change or maybe something else has happened overnight but so far we've been unable to get to the bottom of it.
Can anyone suggest how we could dig into this?  thsping works OK from the Citrix server.
Sorry for the vagueness of the question but we're strugging to think of what else to look at.  Thanks, Chris

Hello Seb
Sorry for not replying before - I meant to but ... forgot.  Your post actually helped me fix this - I hadn't thought of looking in SAP Notes & when I did I found note 1415619 which advised us to change access to user right to create global object. This fixed our problem.
So your post was very useful because it reminded me to do what I should have done anyway!
Thanks

  • Unable to create connection to Application Server Control from JDev

    Hi All,
    I am unable to create connection to Application Server Control of SOA Suite from JDeveloper and getting following error:
    Error getting OC4J Process for: opmn-home+oc4j-<hostname>-<OPMN Port>-default:
    Error connecting to OPMN (is it running?): Connection refused: connect
    I restarted all OPMN processes...still getting the same error.
    Thanks
    Krrish

    Hi.
    I got a similar error sometime ago.
    It was related to OPMN not getting bound to the correct server IP. It happened because my SOA Suite was installed in one machine that does not have a fixed IP (or uses loopback adapter) and then I tried to connect to this SOA Suite from another machine, using JDev.
    I checked this by running "opmnctl debug". then you can see on what IP the opmn is listening on.
    Didn't know how to solve this.

  • Module: AppleODClientLDAP - unable to open connection to LDAP server - unable to create connection context

    Hi everybody,
    I'm running in an urgent problem, because binding to my OpenDirectory got lost. I've lots of "Module: AppleODClientLDAP - unable to open connection to LDAP server - unable to create connection context" messages in the system.log and OD service stoppped running. In the OD-section no server is listed any longer and all buttons are greyed. All network users for sure are not available, but all other services are up. I didn't changed anything to the existing services but started with the netinstall config. I got the following entries in the systemlog
    Jun 19 00:35:30 macminiserver.homenet bootpd[95005]: server name macminiserver.homenet

    Since these logentries appeared, no network users and groups are available anymore. I'm running OS X ML 10.8.3 and DNS is fine.
    Are there any steps to perform to get LDAP working again? With all buttons in the server admin OD section greyed out I even can't setup a new directory.
    BR
    Jens

    I was able to restore the existing server with the automatic OD backup that Server.app creates. When my OD fails to start after a crash and db_recover commands don't work, it's always worked for me to restore the odmaster from a backup using the command:
    sudo slapconfig -restoredb /private/var/backups/ServerBackup_OpenDirectoryMaster.sparseimage
    I'm careful to keep an independent OD backup with Carbon Copy Cloner and this preflight script.
    You can also grab an earlier version of the sparse image ServerBackup_OpenDirectoryMaster.sparseimage from a Time Machine backup. It's also possible to rsync the database files directory from a Time Machine backup.

  • Unable to create connection to the Oracle Java Cloud server

    Hi All,
    I am trying to deploy simple ADF application to Oracle Cloud.
    I am successfully transfered HR schema to my database cloud service and now am trying to create a connection to the oracle java cloud service instance
    but it is failing to create a connection to the cloud server and throwing the error message
    Testing Cloud-Admin                    ... failed.
    listApplications failed.
    Check username, password, domain, instance.
    Check cloud sdk location & version: Tools->Preferences->Oracle Cloud
    0 of 1 tests successful.
    MyService details are as follows
    JDEV : Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.6.0CLOUD_GENERIC_121118.1600.6229
    Cloud version: 13.2.2.0.0
    I am pretty sure , i am using proper credentials since am able to java cloud service console with same credentials.
    Please help me out on this.
    Thanks

    Hi Thanks for the reply
    I check check-box of proxy settings and restarted the jdeveloper and tried again but still it throws the same error? one doubt here...what all we need to include / exclude in our proxy settings...
    and the I tried providing service name as both java and javatrial8477 but no luck i followed the same steps which are mentioned in the below document
    Part 2: Deploying ADF Applications to Oracle Java Cloud
    Do i need to do any other configuration? Or i can directly deploy my ear file to java service console rt instead of creating connection tot the server from IDE.

    Hi Karthikeyan,
    This is not the issue at all. I can open the management studio by the same login id and password and also i can make the database jdbc connection from plain java file.
    It does not give me any problem by them.
    I'm unable to find the actual problem. May be i'm missing something in connection pooling.
    Please help.

  • Unable to create connection pool on weblogic startup

    Hi, I have a problem currently with the connection pool of weblogic 8.1 not being able to be created on a scheduled restart daily.
    The weblogic server is restarted daily at 6am. However, the oracle database is shut down for maintenance daily till 7am before it is up again. It is not possible to shift either timings of restarting weblogic and oracle.
    Is there any script or option settings in weblogic to reconnect the connection pool after 7am daily without restarting the weblogic instance?
    Please help. Thanks.

    Please help. Thanks.You can use the weblogic.Admin command line program to create, destroy, disable, or enable pools
    in a running server. However, the easiest thing to do is to define your pool to have an initial
    capacity of zero, so it is allowed to be created at startup, without needing to make any connections.
    Then it will self-populate as needed when application load starts, if/when the DBMS is available.

  • Unable to create connection to Derby

    I am trying to create a Universe Designer connection to Apache Derby. I have the Derby server running on localhost:1527 and I can see the database using Eclipse Data Tools and query it. But, when I attempt to create a connection using Universe Designer, I see the "Derby" option under "Connection"->"New", but when I go to test the connection, I get the following error:
    CS: Java Class not found in classpath : org.apache.derby.jdbc.EmbeddedDriver
    I thought in order for a client to connect to Derby, it is supposed to use the derbynet.jar . How do I get this working?
    Do I need to drop a jar file somewhere? I don't see a driver connections option and it looks like from the manual that the drivers are supposed to be "already" installed.
    I am using Universe Designer 12.1.0.882

  • Unable to create a connection for Discussion Forums.

    Hi,
    I have my WC_Spaces and WC_Colloboration Servers running actively. When I try to create a new connection by right-clicking Connections in Applications Resources and choose Discussion Forums and too I entered the URL and admin fields, I find its unable to create a new connection. The error displayed is : "Failed to verify connection". Please help me with this.
    Regards,
    Dinesh Vishnu Kumar

    Hi,
    In your webcenter application you have created the discussion forum connection and you have connections.xml file in your application.Open the connections.xml in jdeveloper and check the discussion forum connection entry.
    For example here I have written down my entry on forum connection-
    <Reference name="Discussion Forum Connection" className="oracle.adf.mbean.share.connection.webcenter.forum.ForumConnection" xmlns="">
    <Factory className="oracle.adf.mbean.share.connection.webcenter.forum.ForumConnectionFactory"/>
    <RefAddresses>
    <StringRefAddr addrType="forum.url">

    </StringRefAddr>
    <StringRefAddr addrType="admin.user">
    <Contents>weblogic</Contents>
    </StringRefAddr>
    <StringRefAddr addrType="connection.time.out">
    <Contents/>
    </StringRefAddr>
    <StringRefAddr addrType="policy.uri.for.auth.access">
    <Contents/>
    </StringRefAddr>
    <StringRefAddr addrType="policy.uri.for.public.access">
    <Contents/>
    </StringRefAddr>
    <StringRefAddr addrType="recipient.key.alias">
    <Contents/>
    </StringRefAddr>
    <StringRefAddr addrType="adapter.name">
    <Contents>Jive</Contents>
    </StringRefAddr>
    </RefAddresses>
    </Reference>
    Change the required entries with your values(for serveraddress,port and admin user).
    One more thing need to consider that is -
    in jdeveloper proxy ,add the server address in exception list and restart the jdeveloper.
    Sometimes it will show you up as "failed to verify the connection". But it will work atleast functionality-wise it will work.
    Apart from this,I have a query on "Have you used any VPN connection to connect collaboration server to create forum connection?"
    Hope it works for you.

    I have installed Oracle Adapter 10.1.3.1 on Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 & then upgraded my SOA Suite to 10.1.3.3.
    Its a very critical issue.
    Please help me out of it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Shanty

    I have resolved this error.
    If you are facing the same error then follow the following steps:
    1. Shutdown the Oracle SOA Suite.
    2. Copy sapjcorfc.dll into C:\WINDOWS\system32
    3.Edit oc4j-ra.xml located at below locations
    a. OracleHome\j2ee\home\application-deployments\default\jca-app-adapter
    b. OracleHome\j2ee\home\connectors\jca-app-adapter\jca-app-adapter\META-INF
    by editing the values
    <config-property name="AdapterName" value="SAP"/>
    <config-property name="Config" value="SAP_Target_You_Have_Created_in_iaexplorer"/>
    Cheers,
    Shanty
