DAC cable between HP Flex-10 and Cisco 4900M

We have HP C7000/VC-Flex 10 Module that I would like to connect to our Netapps NFS datastore.  The Cisco switch that I will be using between HP Flex-10 and Netapps is Cisco 4900M.  I have a HP cable AP784A direct attach copper SFP+ to SFP+.  Which module I need to purchase and insert into my 4900M to support 10Gb connectivity via HP DAC 10Gb cable.
Please Advise!

You need
4900M 4 port 10GE half card with X2 interfaces (WS-X4904-10GE)
    OR
4900M 8 port 10GE half card with X2 interfaces (WS-X4908-10GE)
WITH
Cisco OneX Converter Module Converts an X2 Interface into One SFP+ Interface (CVR-X2-SFP10G)
I would recommend you to use following DAC cables from Cisco.
• SFP-H10GB-CU1M: 10GBASE-CU SFP+ Cable 1 meter (Version -02)
• SFP-H10GB-CU3M: 10GBASE-CU SFP+ Cable 3 meter (Version -02)
• SFP-H10GB-CU5M: 10GBASE-CU SFP+ Cable 5 meter (Version -02)

  • The cable between the logic board and the 3G board  was removed can I convert it to a Wifi only?

I have a Ipad 2 3g. someone detached the cable between the logic board and the 3G board can I convert it to a Wifi only?

The ipads that have 3g have an extra section attached to the logic board by a glued on wire. I bought this at a tag sale. Someone was apparently trying to repair their iPad and they did not know that when you removed that glued strip attaching the 3g antenna to the logic board you would never be able to re-atach it again later. So basicaly my 3g logic board is now in two pieces. the main logic board with wifi and the cdma 3g antenna. Now their is no differnce between the logic boards in either wifi only or wifi and 3g devices. I attempted to restore the device with the ios for wifi only, because there are 3 different ios versions depending on if you have wifi only wifi 3g with SIM card, or wifi 3g cdma.

  • Uplink between Stacked Dell 8132 and Cisco 1921 HSRP pair.

    Hello,
I have three Dell 8132 switches stacked and we plan on connecting them to an HSRP pair of Cisco 1921 routers. What would be the best way to uplink these stacked switches to the 1921 pair?
I was thinking of creating vlan trunk from 2 of the 3 Dell switches, one trunk going to each router and enable HSRP on these trunks for the vlans I need to route. Would that be a good approach?
Attached is a basic network of what it would look like. Please suggest if this is a good way to accomplish this or if there is a more better and efficient way to do it?
    Thanks

Just to clarify I wasn't suggesting that you move all the routing to the Dell switches. If the routers are already doing some routing for you then you could simply connect the Dell switches with L3 uplinks.
But yes if you feel more comfortable using Cisco then use the routers.
I have never used an integrated switch module to be honest, I just used L3 switches and routers separately.
I suspect it would work as long as there was a backplane connection between the switch module and the router itself so you could route directly from the switch module to the router.
Can't say for sure whether there is or not as like I say I have never used them.
Which to use really comes down to how much bandwidth you need between vlans which only you know really. If you think using one interface and splitting it up may cause problems then you could look at a switch module.
Although it does seem a bit redundant purchasing a switch module when you have L3 switches already :-)
But I do understand what you mean about being a Cisco shop.

  • SIP trunking between Microsoft OCS server and Cisco Voice GW router.

    Hello All,
I have a client with an existing Microsoft OCS (office communications server) environment with the OCS server in their head office. The OCS clients in the remote Office registers with the OCS server in the head office. The WAN connectivity between the remote office and the Head office is MPLS.I would like to facilitate local call (PSTN) features at the remote site through a newly proposed Voice gateway router.
Can I achieve this by doing a SIP trunk between the OCS server in the head office to the newly proposed voice GW router in the remote office through the existing MPLS link. If yes, Could any one please assist me in this regards or suggest any other best solution to achieve the same.
    Thank you in advance,
    Mohammed Ameen R

    Hi David,
this is a normal behaviour. To CUCM, OCS is a remote destination (just like your mobile phone). When your mobile phone hangs up, the system will put the call on hold for 10 sec.
This is there for the mobile user to go to his desk to pick up the call and continue the conversation (part of single number reach feature)
The best practise will be for the user to ensure that the other party hangs up the call first before he hang up.
Please grade if you think it's useful =)

  • Dial-up connection between Asterik SIP server and Cisco 5400

    Hi,
We have a setup for dial-up. The incoming call lands on Cisco 5400 and is forward to PGW using mgcp intergration. PGW sends it to Asterik SIP server over SIP. This Asterik Server sends it to another Cisco 5400 over SIP for Internet.
The issue is for some dial-up user, it works fine. But for some it doesn't. The problem is when we see the log on the last Cisco 5400, the incoming call tone is detected as FAX tone rather then Modem tone.
Any idea why is it so??

  • HP DAC Copper Cable with Cisco 4900M

  • The maximum cable distance from antenna and Cisco 1200 series.

    Hello all!
I?m using the Cisco 1200 Access Points Series with two 2.2dBi dipole antennas. I have read the installation guide for that Access Points and that can be installed with the antennas in separated places. But this guide didn't mention the maximum distance for the antenna cable...
Somebody here can say me this maximum distance?
Had somebody here made this kind of antenna installation with cable?
    Thanks.

Oh Yeah!, I absolutely agree on "shorter is way better"
Given any chance / choice at all, I'd try to keep the cable length under 25 feet. If the option is available for a NEMA cabinet to get the cable shorter, I'd probably do that too.
Since it's good practice to use a chunk of fiber optic cabling between the external stuff and the inside network, you may as well put the AP as close to the antennas as possible and convert the copper to fiber for the long haul.
You get some lightning protection (at least you won't smoke all of the systems sitting on your LAN) and better signal strength (and probably signal quality too).
For something like a 200' run, if forced to do it (we're talking "gun to the head" forced here), I'd probably be looking for something like Andrew LDF4-50 1/2" Heliax with probably a weeeeee bit O' amp tossed in for good measure.
That would also imply that the system would also have to be re-certified, because of the non-standard components ...and a pretty good budget to boot.
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
    FWIW

  • Cisco Flex 7500 and anchor

Hello, I couldn't find this on the Cisco Flex 7500 specs
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/wireless/ps6302/ps8322/ps11635/data_sheet_c78-650053.html
Do anybody know if I can set up an anchor mobility group between the Flex 7500 and the WLC 5508?
    Kind regards

Yes, 5508 can be used as anchor controller for static anchoring while 7500 as foreign using central swtiching.
    For Mobility:
    Fault Tolerance
It is recommended to use Flex 7500 as both the primary and backup controllers.
Flex 7500 primary and backup controllers must be in the same mobility domain.

  • Cable Between Physical Input and Seq. Input Disappears By Itself

Today, inexplicably, while recording routine MIDI overdubs on a cue, I suddenly lost MIDI thru from my master keyboard thru Logic to my MIDI racks. MIDI tracks played fine, but no MIDI thruput.
Tested the MIDI interfaces, AMS, rebooted the computer and the interfaces, all the usual stuff. Couldn't find any reason why I suddenly lost thruput.
It was only because I was at my wit's end that I decided to look at the Clicks and Ports Layer in the Environment to see if anything "somehow" got weird. And sure enough... the cable between the Physical Input and the Sequencer Input had disappeared. Gone. Vanished. Deleted.
How this could have happened without my deliberately going into the Environment, selecting the Clicks and Ports Layer and purposely deleting the cable connection is totally beyond me. This has got to be one of the weirdest behaviors I've seen. And just remember everyone, "weird" is an anagram for "wired" which, unfortunately, proved not to be the case.
Anyone else ever have this happen? Any ideas as to what might have caused this?

    Amin,
I've thought along these lines too, surmising that: items (or data) which were selected/highlighted in various windows at various times were somehow still subject to such actions as Delete, Cut, or Clear, despite the fact that those windows were currently closed. Now, I rarely (closer to "never") have need to visit the Clicks/Ports layer of the Environment, let alone tinker with the connection between phys input and seq input such that that cable might ever remain in a "selected" or "highlighted" state to begin with.
But in an effort to troubleshoot the missing cable scenario according to this theory, I deliberately highlighted the cable, closed that window, and continued working. I was hoping that at some point during normal editing operations I might lose my MIDI thruput again (because it got cut/deleted/cleared in association with a cut/delete/clear operation of another event or object) and then backtrack through the Undo History hoping to discover what operation caused it.
Well, 1.5 days later, after intensive editing of the same sequence (which ended up becoming quite complex) the cable stayed intact! So to a certain extent I think perhaps my theory is wrong, but I'm keeping an open mind.
But something valuable came out of this... considering LPH/David's information, I think that from now on I'm going to eliminate the physical input and sequencer input objects from my environment; they've proven to be a liability. And it's easy enough to add them to a song in the event I want to do some MIDI processing on Logic's input side.
I'd like to respond to your thoughts on floating windows in a separate post.
    Cheers Amin!

  • Difference between CIVS-IPC-VT38 and CIVS-IPC-VF31

    Hi Expert,
1, May I know difference between CIVS-IPC-VT38 and  Cisco IP Camera Fujinon 3-8 mm  Varifocal Lens CIVS-IPC-VF31?
2, Do I need a lenses for Cisco CIVS-IPC-2611   Dome camera, if it is what the part number?
    Thanks

I'm just going by memory here, but I believe the VT38 part is made by Tamron, and the VF31 part is made by Fujinon.
Personally, I prefer the Tamron parts if I have the option, but you may want to review the detailed spec sheets from each manufacturer.
Also, the 2600 series domes have their *own* non-swapable optics made by "Computar".  I can't remember the varifocal range off the top of my head right now, but it would be in the datasheets from Cisco for sure.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers!
