Ich habe folgendes Problem. Der Dac-Paket-Baustein nimmt nicht mehr als 80 Zeichen an, obwohl er laut Dokumentation 255 Zeichen verarbeiten können sollte. 255 Zeichen wären deutlich wünschenswerter bei bis zu E34 möglichen Eingängen.

Hallo,
Das ist ein Fehler im Programm, der bislang nicht bemerkt wurde. Im Dialog kann man Formeln mit bis zu 255 Zeichen eingeben.
Im Script werden die Befehle und Zugriffe auf Variablen über eine spezielle Schnittstelle an die Paketverarbeitung weitergegeben und da ist offenbar irgendwo die Kürzung auf 80 Zeichen drin.
Wenn man Funktionen benötigt, die dynamisch zugewiesen werden und länger als 80 Zeichen sind, kann man das umgehen.
Man kann z.B. mehrere Blöcke verknüpfen und die Formel in mehrere kleinere Schritte zerlegen. Man kann auch mit Demultiplexer und Multiplexer eine Anzahl von vordefinierten Funktionen haben, von denen über eine Variable immer nur eine genutzt wird.
Der Fehler im Programm dürfte sich aber relativ einfach beheben lassen.

how can I delete a DAC block that’s inside a sub-block diagram using a script?
The command
call SCHEMELOAD("xxx")
call BlDel("yyy")
only deletes blocks that are in the highest level of the actually loaded block diagram, not blocks that are in a sub-block diagram. (DIAdem 2012)

Hi Walter,
I don't need to delete a sub-block, I'd only like to delete blocks which are placed inside a sub-block.
All other commands I tried work for blocks no matter where they are inside a block diagram. For exaple: You can put a math formula block inside a sub-block wich is inside a sub-block which is inside a sub block and it does change the formula by script command.
But when using the command Bldel it deletes all blocks but not the ones inside a sub-block.

Applying formula to two columns of data

Hi,
I've started to use DIAdem and it appears very powerful. Comparision between different data channels
is straightforward and the built in functions are useful. What I'm comparing with with the older way I
analysed data within EXCEL. To deduce INL and DNL from raw data of a DAC. See attached how the
formula has been applied to some dummy data I made up of a 3 bit DAC! Anyhow I'm wondering if there
is a correspondingly easy way to implement this formula in DIAdem. Any help appreciated. I'm played
around with the calculator a little but to no avail.

I took your Excel file and tried to recreate the exact same thing in DIAdem 2010.
Here's what I did:
The Excel function that subtracts values within a column from each other can be replaced by the "Calculate Differences" function in DIAdem ANALYSIS (ANALYSIS > Basic Mathematics > Calculate Differences). That creates a new Channel I called "Delta" in my DIAdem Data Portal.
The next thing I did was add the LSB value as a property to a data channel (in my case I added it to "Readings" as a custom property).
The next step was to go to ANALYSIS and select the Calculation Manager from the toolbar. I added two calculations to the calculation manager, one for DNL and one for INL.
And here is the INL calculation:
That's what got me the same results you have in Excel ...

Data exchange Mainscript (SCRIPT) with script block (DAC)

Is there any way to exchange data beetwen a Mainscript (SCRIPT) with
user-dialoges and script block (DAC) in this way that the script in
scriptblock can access to this data?
Background: I write a DAC-Application with some script-blocks for
reading and writing data to/from real devices. During the development
I'd like to simulate all device accesses because I don'd have the
devices in my office. I write all scripts with a branch for simulation
an real measurement on startup.
How can I execute a swich (simulation / mesurement) without changing
all my scripts all times? Can a script read a variable anyway (Variable
from Mainscript, Diadem-Uservariable or "Hilfsvariable" like L1)?
Can I fill "DeviceParam1V" with content of a variable?
I could use a input channel connected with a formula-block for it. (The
formula-block can read a variable.) But this way is uncomfortable an

Because the DAC Script is executed in its own runtime environment you cannot use the DIAdem variables as in a normal VBS or a SUD.
Still, there are ways to exchange information.
First of all by an extra channel as Input (you named it)
Secondly, there are several variables you can use. Have a look at the Script DAC block. There are two fields called Parameter1 and Parameter2. And each signal you configure has a parameter of its own.
Prior to starting the scheme, you can use a script to change the value of those parameters:

Is changing the parameter of the first signal that is configured.

Formula is not working in report

Hi Friends,
This is formula iam using in report.but in output iam getting only value 1.
Iam not getting other values. I think my OR condition is not working.

You can make conditional calculations using Boolean operators An expression in the form

BW 3.5 - Issue with formula variable with replacement path

Dear experts,
I'm facing an issue with formula variable with replacement path.
Just to clarify, I know replacement paths is raising a lot of questions but I've been using this functionnality extensively in the past, both in 7.0 and 3.5, so I'm not looking for basic information about how to use it.
I'm trying to setup a simple report that would show total values per plant of Purchase Order < 100
To do so I've setup a calculated key figure as follow:
VAR1 * ("PO value" < 100 ) * "PO value"
VAR1 is a formula variable with replacement path on 'purchase order' and value attribute 'constant =1'.
(The report has to show values summarized by plant but should not show the detail PO by PO, so I'm not looking at a solution based on condition)
The report as characteristic "plant" in rows and my CKF in columns.
Now let's take an example. I have 3 POs in Plant 1:
PO1 -> 150
PO2 -> 90
PO3 -> 80
Because of the variable with replacement path, the result in my query should be:
plant1 = 170 (even though characteristic "purchase order" is not in my rows, system should evaluate PO one by one and return values only for those two that are below 100).
But the result coming is 320, which is wrong.
I've done the same report on many other 3.5 systems and it worked perfectly, and I am not able to get proper support from SAP OSS who keep saying that this functionnality is not ready in 3.5 (although I've provided screenshot of this working on another 3.5 system!!! how frustrating...)
They have also pointed to problems of Before and After aggregation but that has absolutely no impact. Once again, the scenario is working perfectly on other 3.5 systems with the same query design, so i'm sure it has nothing to do with Query Designer options.
Would anyone have ever come to an equivalenet problem? I'm wondering whether the DB itself could not play a role in the variable with ref characteristic 'constant =1' ...

The text variable is replaced when the exact date is clear for this key figure column according to the restriction.
To achive this, please make sure that either the variable is directly restricted in the key figure selection, or that the date characteristic is in drilldown.

I want it to be appeared only for one time not 12 times!

Hi,
I assume that your formula column is at a higher level than your repeating frame (in other case it's not clear which value you want to display). Bring the filed representing the formula column behind the repeating frame, then it's diplayed only once.

SSRS 2008 Column Chart with Calculated Series (moving average) "formula error - there are not enough data points for the period" error

I have a simple column chart grouping on 1 value on the category axis. For simplicity's sake, we are plotting $ amounts grouping by Month on the category axis. I right click on the data series and choose "Add calculated series...". I choose moving average. I want to move the average over at least 2 periods.
When I run the report, I get the error "Formula error - there are not enough data points for the period". The way the report is, I never have a guaranteed number of categories (there could be one or there could be 5). When there is 2 or more, the chart renders fine, however, when there is only 1 value, instead of suppressing the moving average line, I get that error and the chart shows nothing.
I don't think this is entirely acceptable for our end users. At a minimum, I would think the moving average line would be suppressed instead of hiding the entire chart. Does anyone know of any workarounds or do I have to enter another ms. connect bug/design consideration.

I was having the same error while trying to plot a moving average across 7 days. The work around I found was rather simple.
If you right click your report in the solution explorer and select "View Code" it will give you the underlying XML of the report. Find the entry for the value of your calculated series and enter a formula to dynamically create your periods.

What I'm doing here is getting the row count of records returned in the chart. If the returned rows are greater than or equal to 7 (The amount of days I want the average) it will set the points to 7. If not, it will set the number to the amount of returned rows. So far this has worked great. I'm probably going to add more code to handle no records returned although in my case that shouldn't happen but, you never know.
A side note:
If you open the calculated series properties in the designer, you will notice the number of periods is set to "0". If you change this it will overwrite your custom formula in the XML.

Error in creating Formula Variable

I'm having problems in creating formula variable. Trying to create FV on a characteristic using replacement path with attribute value , but the wierd part is it's not giving me any attributes it's just blank. Any help would be appreciated....

Right click on the FM, create -> Characteristic -> attribute value -> but the attribute are not showing up. This happens if the attribute is of key figure type. I was able to do this in another system (ASIA DEV) but now trying in Europe Dev.

I have created a sql file in DAC server /app/dac/CustomSQLs/ ,just to fire an update sql in database
In DAC task tab i have created a task with the following:

I created subject area and assembled ,then created a Execution plan.

verify the following settings:
1. mapping of ECC plant and storage location and logical system number with the appropriate availability group code since this links the stock types in EWM to ECC org elements (SPRO -> EWM -> Interfaces -> ERP Integration -> Goods movement)
2. ensure the availability group configuration is correct (SPRO -> EWM -> GR Process -> Configure availability group for putaway) - check all applicable nodes in this configuration since the availability group code is assigned in the pertinent storage types

Error while creating the DWH tables using DAC

I am getting error while creating the DWH tables using DAC. I have created a ODBC DSN using merant driver with DAC repository DB credentials and the test connection is successful. And while creating the tables i gave the olap dw credentials and the DSN name which i created earlier. But it throws the error as below:

The fact that you are getting an "ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied" message indicates that you are at least talking to the database.
The log shows that username "infdomain" is being used. Can you double check the username and password you have in DAC in a SQL*Plus/SQL Developer session?

Error while importing a DW table into DAC

Hi,
We are on OBIEE 7.9.6 and we have a requirement of adding new DW table. I created a new table in DW and getting error "Could connect to data source process. Process failed during creation of connection pool", while trying to import this new table into DAC. I would like to know why I am getting this error.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I added this table in DW database and have imported into informatica. When I look at the traffic light it is red. Looks like thats the problem.
