  • DAC Installation : Error

"Windows cannot find file 'C:\program.'.Make sure name is typed correctly."
This is the error message i am getting while trying to turn on the DAC client or server by double clicking on the icon.I had already changed the path in config.bat file and installed JAVA 1.5 in my system.
It will be very helpful if someone have solution for this issue.Any way thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I Think the error is due to spaces, Have you installed Java in Program files, if yes then you have to install the Java again as C:\Java, then change the path of Java in DAC server and DAC client. bat files i think this will solve your problem.

  • DAC installation on Office Computer

    Hi Everyone,
While I am installing DAC in my office laptop, it is asking for Informatica Powercenter Path and the Informatica Domain file location. I have installed Oracle 11g Client, OBIEE 10g, Informatica 9.0.1 Client.
How can I give the Informatica Domain file as I didn't find any domain file in my laptop. Can you please anyone help me in installing the DAC in my office laptop.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You need to copy the domain.infa file from the server/box where you have installed informatica server or else you can also install informatica server on your laptop and provide the path of the domain.infa file and powercenter path for the same.
    Thanks,

    Hi All,
I have just installed DAC11g in my windows 7 Client. I have configured the DAC client and once i start the dac server from the command line using the startserver.bat file i am getting the following error.
Error: no 'server' JVM at 'C:\OBIA\ORACLE_DAC\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll'.
I can see that in the DAC installation folder there is no server sub folder at all...
The installation was successful could some one let me know how i can resolve this ?

Check your config.bat file to validate all variables
and also make sure you got valid folder path specific to this variable

  • DAC source system parameters not being generated

    HI all,
We are implementing BI apps 7962 with Informatica 861 Hot FX11, OBIEE 101341 on Linux5. We have installed and set up the configuration completely. The Informatica services are created and the DAC was configured with the Source System Parameters. When I generated the execution plan parameters, the files are being generated in the SRC files folder. But it seems like the source system parameters I set in the DAC client are not being picked up.
For example I have set the Initial Extract date as 1/1/2008. But when I ran the load and saw the log files it still seems like the Initial Extract date is 1/1/1970. We have set the custom property for Integration Service overrideMpltVarWithMapVar as Yes. Please help me if any one has seen this before.
    Thanks

    Hi,
When you have configured all the tasks in DAC, while running the loads DAC will generate the parameter files at runtime.
You need to make sure that parameterfileDW.txt and parameterfileOLTP.txt files are present in DAC Installation Directory\bifoundation\DAC\Informatica\Parameter\Input folder.
If these files are not present in the above mentioned location then you need to copy them from Informatica Installation Directory\PowerCenter 8.6.1\server\Infa_Shared\SrcFiles folder.
    Hope this helps...................

  • Error when trying to install DAC

I am trying to install DAC - download from edelivery infalinux64_dac_10.3.4. I understand that I should do initially a windows DAC install. Trouble is that setup from DAC/Disk1/install and setup from DAC/Disk1/win32 both fails complaining about Java not found... download Java 1.3 etc.
    I do have windows 7 - 32bit system.
    Txs. for any hints
    Antonio

1st check what the size of the zip file of DAC installation file...and after extracting check the size.
Java 1.3 will not help out............Install JDK 1.5 or JDK 1.6 version to isntall DAC..
and make sure you give your IP address at HOSTS file in WINDOWS

  • Regarding Oracle BI Applications Installation

    Hi all,
I was going through the documentation of Oracle BI Applications, probably the old version.
    I. Was DAC previously installed as one of the component along with Oracle BI Applications installation?
Now i have installed Oracle BI Applications version 7.9.6.1. and DAC is not installed with it. It is available as seperate package from OTN website.
Old Documentation says: "Installing DAC is part of the *Oracle BI Analytics installation*", refering to what is said: what i learnt is there are:
    1. "Oracle Infrastructure Installation"
    2. "Oracle BI Applications Installation"
    3. "Informatica Powercenter Installation"
    4. "DAC Installation" as seperate package.
II. what does he mean by *"Oracle BI Analytics installation"*? is it part of any one installation mentioned above or is a seperate installation.
    Regards,
    Sreekanth.

Now i have installed Oracle BI Applications version 7.9.6.1. and DAC is not installed with it. It is available as seperate package from OTN website.Correct, you have to install it separately
II. what does he mean by *"Oracle BI Analytics installation"*? is it part of any one installation mentioned above or is a seperate installation. The OBIA documentation is not very good, it has lots of ambiguities like the one you quote.
    http://rnm1978.wordpress.com/2009/07/30/what-is-obia/
    You basically need to install:
    Informatica Server & Client
    DAC Server & Client
    OBIEE
    Informatica metadata (repository)
    DAC metadata (repository)
OBIEE metadata (repository RPD and WebCat)
    Datawarehouse schema

  • Install DAC 10.1.3.4.1 client throws INST-07309 informatica domain file

This is BIApps 7.6.0. The installer setup.exe from dac_windows_x86_101341.zip throws INST-07309 failure with "informatica domain file location". Obviously this is because I cannot provide a location for domains.infa. This file does not seem to exist on my windows client machine (A).
I am trying to install the DAC client on my windows client machine (A) following
"Oracle® Business Intelligence Applications Installation Guide for Informatica PowerCenter Users Version 7.9.6 Part Number E14217-01"
4 Installing and Setting Up Oracle BI Applications 4.9 Installing the DAC Platform
Section 4.9.1, "Installing DAC Using the DAC Installer"
I have already installed Informatica PowerCenter 8.6.0 HotFix4 client on this windows client machine (A) and Informatica PowerCenter Services 8.6.0 HotFix4 on a different machine (B).
Anyone else hit this? Have I missed something in the guide? As a workaround I file transfered the domains.infa xml file from the informatica server home on the server machine (B) to the informatica client home on my windows client machine (A).

I think this is the way you should do this indeed...

  • Installing DAC and Informatica

My topology is defined as Informatica PC server in Linux and DAC server in Linux.
    Informatica PC clients in Windows.
That seems to be a correct topology.
I have Informatica PC server in Linux running OK, and also Informatica clients in Windows installed.
Now when coming to DAC installation I am kind of lost... Edelivery has a DAC for windows and a DAC for Linux.
When trying to install DAC for Windows it will install both DAC clients AND SERVER in Windows >> It seems I have to do this and then just ignore this DAC SERVER ??
Or should I use the DAC for Linux ?
When trying to install DAC for WIndows it asks for Informatica location and domain >> It is asking for the SERVER locations ? or the client... it is not clear
How to point to the domain given that Informatica server is installed in Linux ?
Txs. a lot for any help.
    Antonio

    Hi,
Installer allows you to install both DAC Client and server on the Windows. But DO NOT start the dac server if you install it.
On the installer the 3rd page is the 'Component Installation' You can click off the radio button for DAC Server. This will then only install the Client on windows.
On the linux, download the DAC for Linux. This time, click install the DAC Server. start DAC server on the Linux.
Now for the question of Informatica Location. When you are doing this on the Windows, you will have a location for the Informatica eg:
C:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.1.1\ put this entry in the top field.
Then underneath 'C:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.1.1\' look for the domain.infa file. Usual path is : 'C:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.1.1\domains.infa'
Personally i would install CLient and server on the Windows but not start the Server.

  • OBIEE on Linux 64 bit

Has anyone had any success in installing OBIEE , DAC and Oracle BI Apps on Linux 64 bit? We are on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4. We were able to install obiee 10.1.3.4.1 on this machine and start services successfully. We were able to also install the Informatica 8.1.1 (followed by SP5) on the same machine and start infaservice successfully. However, we are having issues installing the DAC 10.1.3.4.1 on this.
We downloaded the DAC from edelivery.oracle.com for the Linux platform. The runInstaller from the base installation directory did not even launch and gave an error saying "Running 64 bit JVM is not supported". We found a "linux" directory under the base installation directory and a runInstaller there. We invoked this and was able to install the DAC successfully until the "oracleRoot.sh" screen. The oracleRoot.sh is failing since we don't seem to have the hasbind and hasexec files that the oracleRoot.sh is looking for. Anyone faced such issues?
We tried to say OK and start the DAC components but it is failing due to server.properties missing from bifoundation/dac/conf location. Any thoughts/suggestions would be great.
    Thanks,
    Arun

Okay, so after re-reading the BI Applications install documentation, it turns out that even though you can download the Linux install for the DAC, you actually are not at all supposed to install the DAC to a linux environment.
Instead, you are only supposed to install DAC to Windows and then copy and paste the folders to the Linux server.
This might be a rhetorical question, but why is there a linux install file for DAC available, if you are not supposed to use it?
In fact the document "Data Warehouse Administration Console Installation, Configuration, and Upgrade Guide" (E12653-01), it clearly says for Unix/Linux you need to run the universal installer on the Linux server. It doesn't say anything about installing on windows and copying. Am I missing something here?
Either way, the moral of this story is following the details outlined in the BI Applications installation guide and not the details in the DAC installation guide.
    Best regards,
    -Joe
