DAC repository metadata tables

Hi,
I am preparing reports in OBIEE for analysing DAC runs.
For this I need to have the knowledge of the DAC metadata tables and the information they store in them.
Can anybody please share any information/documents about these tables?
Thanks
Anamika

Hi,
Thanks for the link!
It gives me the possible model for the RPD.
But I want to have the information about the DAC metadata tables individually.
For example, W_ETL_FOLDER table stored information about logical and physical folders. Similarly, I want to know what other tables store for DAC.
Please share if you come accross any such document/information.
thanks
Anamika

    Hi,
I have spoken to Oracle about this previously, apparently these warnings are not important and are nothing to worry about, see here:

  • Error while Importing Metadata into DAC Repository

    Hi,
After the successful first time login into DAC and creating repository, when I try to import metadata into DAC repository.
DAC > Tools > DAC Repository Management > Import
I don't see any Applications listed under "Application List"
Can anybody suggest the troubleshooting steps for this?
    Regards,
    Jitendra

If this is the first time that you are importing make sure that the directory you are importing from is like this -
    C:\OBIEE\OracleBI\DAC\export
If this is not the first time then
Can you go inside the following directory
    C:\OBIEE\OracleBI\DAC\log
and check for export.log - Look for Applications Section, if you have any application then you had exported it and you should see it under the applications tab when importing otherwise you don't !!Since its an xml file that is generated i believe you have not exported by selecting the applications yo want and that is your problem.
    Hope this helps !!

    Hello,
I just installed OBIEE and OBIAPP as well as Informatica and am now trying to login to DAC client to import metadata into the DAC repository. So Tools->DAC Repository Management>Import. After I checked Universal and Siebel 8.0 and clicked OK button, there is nothing happening. I can actually still click on the Cancel button to close the Import window.
Has anyone experienced this before? Really appreciate some help here.

  • Which metadata table in the BODS repository has data about CPU utilization of every job that gets executed?

I have to create a performance dashboard where I need to make a graph showing CPU Utilization for individual workloads. If every job corresponds to a particular workload, is there any metadata table that would contain how much CPU Utilization corresponds to a given job?

If i am not wrong, AL_Statistics and ALVW_History will have details of memory utilization.

  • Unable to import DAC repository

    Hello all,
    I am installing BIA7.9.5 on R12.
Now I want to configure the DAC but when I go to:
Tools -> Dac repository Management -> impoirt
And choose the Oracle R12 application.
    And check truncate tables
Now when I press OK nothing happens.
I still see the same screen, no error of no other things. It just looks like that the button isn't working.
    I configured config.bat with the good JAVA_HOME and DAC_HOME.
Does anyone had an idea why this occurs?

I had the same problem because on my client machine i had installed the latest version of Java because the requirements stated JDK 1.5 or higher. However it seems you get this "button does nothing" bug with 1.6. I installed the terminal release of 1.5 and edited my config file.
    On your client edit \DAC\config.bat
    REM set JAVA_HOME=C:\app\Java\jdk1.6.0_12
    set JAVA_HOME=C:\app\Java\jdk1.5.0_17
The idea for this fix came for this post
DAC Client 7.9.5.1 is not compatible with Java SDK 1.6.0_12 - use 1.5.0_17

  • Best practice of metadata table in data warehouse environment ?

    Hi guru's,
In datawarehouse, we have 1. Stage schema 2. DWH(Data warehouse reporting schema). In stageing we have about 300 source tables. In DWH schema, we are creating the tables which are only required from reporting prespective . some of the tables in stageing schema, have been created in DWH schema as well with different table name and column names. The naming convention for these same tables and columns in DWH schema is more based on business names.
In order to keep track of these tables we are creating metadata table in DWH schema say for example
    Stage                DWH_schema
    Table_1             Table_A
    Table_2             Table_b
    Table_3             Table_c
Table_4              Table_DMy question is how do we handle the column names in each of these tables. The stage_1, stage_2 and stage_3 column names have been renamed in DWH_schema which are part of Table_A, Table_B, Table_c.
As said earlier, we have about 300 tables in stage and may be around 200 tables in DWH schema. Lot of the column names have been renamed in DWH schema from stage tables. In some of the tables we have 200 column's
so my concern is how do we handle the column names in metadata table ? Do we need to keep only table names in metadata table not column names ?
Any idea will be greatly appriciated.
    Thanks!

    hi
    seems quite a buzzing question.
In our project we designed a hub and spoke like architecture.
Thus we have 3 layer, L0 is the one closest to the source and L0 table's name are linked to the corresponding sources names by mean of naming standard (like tabA EXT_tabA tabA_OK1 so on based on implementation of load procedures).
At L1 we have the ODS , normalized model , we use business names for table there and standard names for temporary structures and artifacts
Both L0 an L1 keep source's column names as general rule, new columns like calculated one are business driven and metadata are standard driven.
Datamodeler fits perfect for modelling L1 purpose.
L2 is the dimensional schema business names take place for tables and columns eventually rewritten at presentation layer ( front end tool )
    hope this helps D.

  • No segment found in Metadata table

    Hi,
We are posting an Idoc from an external application to R/3 using C RFC libraries. There was a new custom segment Z1xxx added to an Extension message type Zxxxx on SAP. There is an error in the external application while trying to build/Map the Idoc segments before sending the idoc to R/3.
The error says "<u>No such segment type found in metadata table</u>". The segments heirarchy is the same as defined on SAP.
The release have been checked for this new segment, its released to 45B as similar to other standard segments.
Please let us for any resolution for successful posting of an Idoc with the custom Z1 segment.

  • BODS 4.2 Cannot import the metadata table, RFC_ABAP_INSTALL_AND_RUN syntax error

Hi all, we installed BODS 4.2 server to substitute a 4.1, but we are facing the error:
Error: Cannot import the metadata table <name=T001>
RFC CallReceive error <Function /BODS/RFC_ABAP_INSTALL_AND_RUN: RFC_ABAP_RUNTIME_FAILURE -(Exception Key: Syntax error in program /BODS/SAPLBODS....
We already tried the solution for when people get the error related to unicode.
Also, we are able to pull data via extractors, it only fails when loading Tables....
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Dear,
You will have to import the new ABAP Function Group "BODS/BODS".
    Here are some details:
Installing Functions on the SAP Server
SAP BusinessObjects Data Services provides functions that support the use of the ABAP, BAPI, and
IDoc interfaces on SAP servers. You will need some or all of these functions in the normal operation
of the software in an SAP environment. These functions perform such operations as dynamically loading
and executing ABAP programs from Data Services, efficiently running preloaded ABAP programs,
allowing for seamless metadata browsing and importing from SAP servers, and reporting the status of
running jobs. Some of these functions read data from SAP NetWeaver BW sources.
You must upload the provided functions to your SAP server in a production environment. It is
recommended that you always upload the functions to your SAP server whether you are in a
development, test, or production environment. The functions provide seamless integration between
    Data Services and SAP servers.
The default installation places two function module files for SAP servers in the ...\Data
Services\Admin\R3_Functions\transport directory. You then upload these files to SAP servers
using the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) or manually. Using CTS allows for version
control as the functions evolve across releases.
The installation provides two versions of transport files (depending on the server version you are using)
to install the functions on the SAP server. To obtain the names of the latest transport files for installing
or upgrading these SAP server functions, see the readme.txt file
And I've found those files and text files in the local install folder....in:
    Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\admin\R3_Functions
    (that's where I've installed it).
There you'll find some descriptive txt as how to proceed.
After installing, it might happen that the executing user is missing some authorizations.
Here my authorizations team helped me by tracing the user and then adding the necessary rights.
Sure hope this will help you.

  • Repository like table names in user_tab_columns after generating database

    Hello,
    Steps
    1) database was redesigned (table names, columns, PK, FK) in Oracle Designer (9.0.4.3.14)
    2) Changes were exported into the actual application schema of a pysical database
    Problem:
Some table names occur twice in the dictionary view USER_TAB_COLUMNS: once with normal name and once with repository-like table names such as "BIN$16NFwL8USCGjaEBNskSF5Q==$0". In USER_TABLES in turn everything seems to be ok.
What is the actual cause of this an how can user_tab_columns be cleaned?
    Regards
    Jan

    Hi Thorsten,
You should be able to get some of the information that you want from the TimesTen reports that are in SQL Developer.
    e.g.
<TimesTen Reports -> Table -> Columns -> Columns> returns a listing of all the columns and their data types. You can order by the data type column or add a filter (say ='TT_BIGINT') to restrict the result set.
<TimesTen Reports -> Table -> Constraints -> All Constraints / FK Constraints / PK Constraints / Unique Constraints>  returns a listing of all the constraints, their name, the table that the constraints are on, and their properties.
For all the SQL Developer reports, you will be able to see the underlying queries and the TimesTen system tables/ views that they reference.

  • Access BPEL metadata tables in Olite install of SOA Suite

    Hi,
Iwanted to know if there is a way to acess bpel metadata tables in olite.
like for esb we use system/any user/pass and oraesb sid.
I am unable to do so by changing sid from oraesb to orabpel.
    It gives access violation error.
    Thanks in advance

if you check out the datasources.xml file in your AS-installation you will see that the username/password isn't the same for orabpel as for the oraesb schema. You need to use system/manager instead of system/any

  • Cannot retrieve table metadata - Table does not exist: ODP source 0WRKCNT_CATG_TEXT does not exist

Hi, when i able to import the 0WRKCNT_CATG_TEXT extractor into source system i am getting the above bug Cannot retrieve table metadata - Table does not exist: ODP source <0WRKCNT_CATG_TEXT> does not exist, i have been checked in RSA5 T code to check the object is active or not, its active and its available in ROOSATTR table with enabled mode, but still its showing the error, can anyone help on this ..

    Hi Airings,
'ORA-00942: table or view does not exist'
According to the error message, it seems that the migrating table or view does not exist in the database, or SSMA does not have access to it. To troubleshoot the issue, please check the following things.
     1. Verify that if the spelling of the table or view name is correct.
     2. If the table or view exists but is in a different schema from the current schema where the SQL is executing (in other word, the table doesn’t own by you, but owned by other user), the ORA-00942 error will return too. Resolve this by
explicitly reference the table or view by specifying the schema name (schema_name.table_name).
    3. SSMA queries some additional catalog tables that you may not have permission to, please make sure that you grant the account permission to
read sys.mlog$. For more details, please review this similar thread:

  • Accessing logical columns using metadata table

    Hi,
I have a requirement to store data coming from multiple sources in various format into single table as the number of tables required is not determinable at development phase. Hence I have defined 2 tables,
    1. Metadata table storing the information about logical columns in the incoming data.
    2. Raw generic table where the actual data would be stored.
While accessible the logical data first I need to access the metadata table to fetch the column details and then access the raw table to provide actual data in those columns. Even though this option is available the code might not remain readable as need to use actual raw table column names in the code.
I have thought of view based access but again number of views required is not known at development time. Is there any option/feature available which would be able to provide logical view for the raw data?
    thank you in advance.

    Hi
Firstly, this sounds rather messy and is not something I would consider doing - but I shall give you the benefit of the doubt that all other options have been exhausted.
A way I can think of is that you could define your metadata a bit like the oracle data dictionary, then you could use something like APEX where you can use dynamic SQL to show a report on the data. Imagine something like this
    DECLARE
    l_sql VARCHAR2(32000);
    BEGIN
    l_sql : = 'SELECT ';
    FOR i IN
    (SELECT column_name
    FROM my_table_data
    WHERE table_name = :TARGET_TABLE)
    LOOP
    IF i = 1
    THEN l_sql := l_sql||i.column_name;
    ELSE l_sql := l_sql||', '||i.column_name;
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    l_sql := l_sql||' FROM '||:TARGET_TABLE;
    RETURN l_sql;
END;Obviously you can make stick in predicates etc. if you need to but that would be a starting point?
    Not very pretty though...
    Cheers
