DAC Scheduler acting very odd

Greetings,
I currently have DAC setup to kick off an execution plan every 1 week from Monday through Friday, but for some reason it's been acting very weird. The schedule jumps and default to every 2 weeks instead of the specified 1 week criteria. Does anybody have any issue with that? Or do you know where I would go to troubleshoot exactly why DAC is doing that?

Just an idea , may be you can check the scheduler related API (availability of Jar files) in your version of DAC. For eg. i had a similar issue when my scheduler wasnt working for
daylight saving timezone which I was able to get a fix by applying updatetool patch of Oracle

Windows 8.1 Laptop acting very odd.

So I've been using an ASUS laptop from 2012, updated to windows 8.1. Aside from a progressive decay in processing speed, the solution to which has been back up, wipe and reload [yet to be done], the laptop itself has been acting exceptionally odd. In the
middle of just about anything, and almost without warning, it will flicker the display then put itself onto hibernate, taking a minute or two, then putting out a loud pop on the speakers when it finally powers down. I've encountered this problem for several
months, but up until recently it hasn't been that cumbersome. Within the past week, it has shut itself down while in the middle of working roughly twelve times. I
have previously dusted its interior, so I assume some possibility for errors may have stemmed from this. Additional problems from before and after internal cleaning include wireless adapter completely dying, which I have also attempted to identify
the source of the problems. Perhaps someone may be able to shed a little light on what's going on and suggest some form of solution.

Did you remember when you upgrade to Windows 8.1, any compatibility report appear for you?
According to your description, it's most likely the hardware problem.
I would like to suggest you update your device driver include audio driver, video driver and network driver etc for test.

HT1296 My iphone 4S is acting very odd it says that I have not enough memory space so can not take pictures, sync. I went to apple store

Today went to the apple store and explained the problem, they said to do these log on these3 steps

I started did download new version of itune but still unable to sync saing not enough memory space
Only 7 apps, unable to download games 1 magazine, 18 pictures, and lots of songs about 1.000plus

An iPhone is just like any computer when the operating system detects that storage is low it prevents any further updating to avoid compromising the installation
You have too much on too smaller iPhone something will have to be deleted to proceed

My iPod touch (2nd generation) has started to act very odd following a sync I performed 2 days ago!

It switches on & off at random, will not let me adjust the volume and has also started to take screenshot pictures whenever I press the home button. To top it all off, it also switches off whenever I press the volume up button.
I have done a factory reset but the problems still persist.
These problems never occured prior to the sync and Apple want £80 to replace the item.
Help!

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Window manager? acting very oddly

So I've got a really weird problem, not sure where else to look for answers. It started with noticing that the Dock wasn't showing up. I tried to manually start it but nothing happened. Then I noticed that Command-Tab doesn't work, it just registers the Tab (but Command-L properly puts me at the location bar of Firefox, and Command-Q properly closes applications). The third thing is that Apple -> Shutdown or Restart just doesn't work. Click, and nothing, I have to hold down the power button.
Any idea on what is going on here? I haven't done a Repair yet, or a reinstall, but if it comes down to that it's no big deal.

First of all, Welcome to the  discussion forums!
I would start by inserting your install disk #1 and Repairing the Disk by using the Disk Utility on your disk. You will need to reboot the computer and hold the "c" key while rebooting which will come up to the install splash screen. Do not click "continue" in the install pane but rather go to the Apple menu bar>Install menu>Disk Utility. When the Disk Utility opens select your HD in the left pane and click on the First Aid tab. Then select Repair Disk. When finished quit the Disk Utility and quit the Installer which should reboot your computer.
See if that cures the problem.
Post back and let us know how it goes,

My Skype is acting very oddly

Hello, this has been happening for a few days now. Whenever I call a pre-made group, or even answer a call, my skype will suddenly crash and it will say skype has stopped responding.

I doubt if your computer has a virus. If you include the problems your having, maybe someone can help.

Open & Save on many applications dialouges acting very strange lately!

This is a weird situation to explain because it is so odd to me, and I've never seen anything like it.
On applications like Mail, Photoshop, Text Edit, and other programs (both Apple and non-Apple) have been giving me very odd behaviors when saving and opening files while scrolling through directories to find the correct directory to save in/open from.
It's difficult to explain this behavior without a video tutorial but I will give it a shot. I will walk you through it. I am in Photoshop now. I have a file open and I want to save it for web. I hit AppleShiftS and the menu pops up. I hit Save. The dialougue comes up. I am currently in the viewing in detailed view (the button on the left where you choose which way to view your dialogue, the one with the horizontal lines going across). Now first of all, none of the dialogues on my computer lately ever "remember" where I saved last. You know how when you save into a certain directory often, when you save again, it should remember so you don't have to click on eighteen folders to get back to where you were? Well, this doesn't happen anymore for me. ANYWAY, so I click on my external drive. On the right, the contents of the root directory of my external pop-up. Here is where it gets weird. I double-click on BLACK SEA (a folder for my design company, that is called Black Sea) to open it. Instead of taking me to that directory, it basically displays every folder inside BLACK SEA underneath it. Now, keep in mind, there are no arrows next to the folders. It isn't collapsing/expanding the folder like it does when arrows or plus signs are next to folders. It just displays the contents underneath, with no indentation. So, I keep clicking on folders to get to the specific folder I want to save in (this means double-clicking about 5 more times, to get to the desired folder). As I am doing this, that thing I explained is happening, and sometimes, when I double-click, it doesn't open the folder. It just freezes and doesn't respond. Either that, or it will open it, but display the contents of the folder it belongs in, instead of the contents of the folder I'm clicking on.
Okay, you're probably really confused now, aren't you? I don't blame you.. it's hard to explain what is happening. Basically, to sum it up, my open/save dialogues are acting fishy and not acting the way they should. I'm pretty computer literate, I am a pro graphic designer and web designer so I know what I am doing. I have tried restarting and repairing permissions. I think I may have to run first aid? What do you all think? Ever had similar experiences?
And before you blame it on photoshop... remember, it does this in mail when choosing attachments, or in Text Edit when saving or opening files, and other programs like Cyberduck (FTP) and my HP Scanner Utility when saving what I scanned.
A few key things to remember that the Finder application does NOT do this (and for that I am THANKFUL because since I can't for the life of me save a file where I want it saved, I end up saving it as close to where I can get it, then go into Finder and drag it to it's proper folder since I can't accurately save in these programs I'm having trouble with).
Also, in the other viewing option (the button next to the one with the horizontal lines in the saving/opening dialogue), this works properly. This is the method I have to use in order to save, because it behaves as it should (expanding/collapsing folders in the window to the right of the folder I am clicking on). But personally, I hate this view, and would rather use the other one.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. I am sure you do because I wrote a novel and I know it is confusing but I did my best.

Have you tried using your system restore disk to check for errors on the internal drive using Disk Utility. (Not the Disk Utility in your Applications folder). If not, shut down your Mac. All at the same time, press the Power Button, hold down the C key and insert your system restore disk, probably number 1. Keep holding down the C key until you see the Apple logo on the screen, then let go.
At this point, go to the Menu and click Utilities/Disk Utility. When DU opens, select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, make sure First Aid is selected then click Verify. If DU reports errors, click Repair. After that's finished, Quit Disk Utility from the Menu, then click Utilities in the Menu again and then click Startup Manager. When that window opens, select MacintoshHD and click Restart. That will boot you back up from your internal drive. See if you see a difference.
If that doesn't help, I see you are running 10.4.8. You are two updates behind. Run Software Update from the Apple Menu. After you run the update, run Disk Utility (from your Applications/Utility folder) and Repair Disk Permissions. (Always do that after a software update) Reboot and see if that helped.

When I open fire fox my yahoo page come up very odd, as does mail if I sign in. Can't figure out how to correct this. Home page and mail open fine in others.

When I open Firefox my yahoo home page comes up very odd and not usable. If I log into my e-mail it also comes up odd and not usable. (the tools across the top like delete etc don't show up.) If I go to a different browser and pull up yahoo it is fine, if I log on to my mail there it also comes up fine and usable. Please help am new to Firefox and just barley getting to where I can us it really don't want to have to change to yet another browser. Losing all my stuff again. (Microsoft browser program stopped working) Please help, real desperate here. Thank you. Followed the instruction on how to take a screen shot, did so, but don't know how to attach it here. Didn't see instructions regarding that and beyond my limited abilities. Have it if someone needs it and can tell me how to attach or send.

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like Adblock Plus or NoScript or Flash Block that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe mode:
*On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
*On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox

If it works in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Very Odd WiFi connection problems - plus crashes

Since Firefox 2.0.0.9 crashed yesterday, I have had very odd problems with my WiFi (Earthlink through an Apple Airport). Network Diagnostics says everything is okay, but Safari can no longer connect to the internet, and after Firefox crashes I can not even send Apple an error report. Yet I can get online with Firefox, as I am now.
The problem apparently started EITHER when I upgraded to the latest Firefox or when I tried to place an order at <http://www.senacases.com/> (or both). After Firefox crashed multiple times while trying to place an order at <http://www.senacases.com/>, I opened Safari, which would not connect.
I ran Network Diagnostics which said everything is fine. But Firefox continually crashes trying to place an order at <http://www.senacases.com/>, Safari continues not connecting, Network Diagnostics continues to say everything is fine, and now I can't file an Apple Error Report and trying to connect to some of the library services at Notre Dame (something I have always been able to do before), makes Firefox crash.
The only other possible symptom I have noticed is that I could not connect to a Late Show video this morning. Otherwise, I can browse the web in Firefox, I can pick up my email with Entourage, etc.
How do I fix this?

PS: I once had a similar problem that was fixed by a simple restart.
I have restarted numerous times now, with no change. My MacBook was off over night.

Very odd question...

My mother had received a message on her answering machine from our local police department yesterday saying that they needed her to call them, that it wasn't important, but that they needed to speak with her. Today, she called back, and the officer that had called wasn't there, but they told her to stop up and they'll see if they can figure out why he called. In the interim, the officer actually called back again, and my mother's sneaky, amoral boyfriend intercepted the call. Apparently he wanted to know if anyone here had an iPhone that they were using, because there was a stolen one pinging on our property. He said that (and this is secondhand info being passed to me) the phone had been "reactivated". He began acting very uncharacteristic when he answered the phone (he's incredibly lazy and selfish, so he never answers the land line, so that in and of itself is very strange), and afterward. My question is: is there any way to see iphones around you without having their info? I just want to see if there is something on the property, because if he's behind it, chances are there's more to it than just a stolen phone. Unfortunately, I feel like this is all moot anyway, because if the officer told him the circumstances, if he had a phone in his possession, it's probably gone by now.

Can anything be done?

I presume this is a CRT monitor, not a flat panel. If so, the fan motor's magnetic field is undoubtedly affecting the monitor.

Palettes controls acting very strangely

Hi all,
I'm using Indesign CS3 and over the last week, I have noticed some odd behaviour from the palettes. This problem seems to exist on all palettes I've tried. It is especially noticeable when trying to go up or down point sizes / mm using the keyboard arrows:
The application almost seems that after I've clicked on the palette control text, the mouse's focus reverts back to the item on the page.... Even to the point that if I want a paragraph of text to be 18pt in size, by the time I have typed "18" ID has moved focus back to the paragraph.... hence the paragraph will now read "18".
This is incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. I cant figure if it's a particular document or something screwy INSIDE the document.
Has anyone come across this before?

A few details about my system.
• A brand new installation of OSX 10.4.11
• All the CS3 apps are up-to-date (which was another set of weird altogether, by the way)
• Very few fonts active, but using Extensis Suitcase X1 (11.0.5.1)

I removed the Suitcase plugin from InDesign.... I think that was the problem, I'll be using ID all today, so I'll know hopefully by tonight - thanks for the pointer.
Very odd thing though, as we were using the same setup before (the hard rive failure) and all the apps were up-to-date then also...
As a result, I'm seriously considering moving my font management to FontXplorer and see if that helps things... Our version of Suitcase is pretty old now, it might not be helping matters. Any thoughts on that?

My iPod Touch was acting very weird, and now the sleep button is unresponsive

Just yesterday morning, my iPod didn't turn on.
When I tried to turn it on, it didn't turn on, so I went to itunes to try to restore it. I downloaded the 700MB update, and left for school, leaving the iPod at home. I came back to find the screen turned on, however, it was acting very very strange. At first, I thought the battery was dead, even though I fully charged it the day before. First when I'm using it, the screen blacks out, flashes, and it constantly asks me to slide to power off, when I didn't press anything. Did a hard reset, and an update/restore, but it didn't fix the problem.
Afterwards, I noticed that the strange behavior stopped. Everything was functional again, except this time, the sleep button no longer works. I press the power button, and nothing happened. I can't even do a hard reset. I can't turn it off. The button isn't stuck though.
I don't know what's going on, but I need my sleep button, because if anything happens to this iPod, I won't be able to reset it. I restored it twice, and the issue was not resolved.
If anyone knows how to fix it, please tell me. I really need the sleep button. Just keep in mind that the sleep button is unresponsive, and I won't be able to do a reset.
If not, can you recommend me an ipod app that can put your ipod to sleep instead of using the button?

Unfortunately, I don't think it solved the problem. I believed the new iPod thing solved the weird behavior problem, but after that the button stopped working.
Do you know how to contact Genius? Because I don't think I can find a store in my area, when I tried to.

Mail acting ery oddly with repeating characters in the to field

When composing a message I enter the first few characters of the person I would like to email and mail.app completes the rest of the entry for me - great
If I then want to put in another name (as I often want to!) then the characters seem to repeat themselves. For example if I want to get my own email [email protected] and I type "j" then "o" and then "n" then this is what I get
"jjojon"
as if this were not bad enough when I press the delete 3 times then this is what the display shows
"jjojonjonjonjon"
so I have to do a ctrl X to cut everything out of the to field and start again.
This is the same for the TO, CC and BCC fields
this problem also exists in the address book when entering in a n email address and also iCal when inviting / notifying guests for a meeting
Any ideas ?
