Daily Itunes Match logout/login to access Cloud Music
Hope someone can help....I have Itunes Match and use it on my home computer and my work laptop. Everyday I shut down my work laptop and take it home. Itunes Match is enabled and my content shows up on what is available in the cloud on my laptop in itunes. The next time I turn on my laptop computer and open itunes, the Cloud content shows up but is grayed out, and if I try to play a song, nothing happens. The only thing I can do is log out of my Apple ID in itunes, login again, and then turn on itunes match and authorize my computer. Then the content reappears and can be played.
I have to do this everyday. Anyone else have this problem or know a solution? Thanks for anyone's help.
right, i think i get it now, the below article had confused me:
Now that I’ve uploaded and matched everything, I want to trust in the cloud. Can I delete everything off my computer and just use my stored Match collection from iCloud?
Sure. Apple doesn’t require you to have a local copy of your files, so you can theoretically match and upload everything to the cloud, then delete all those files from your computer. We will say, however, that while it’s likely that the iTunes Match servers are ironclad, and there’s little risk of losing your data, flying without any backup is never something we recommend. (If you want to save space on your main computer, you should make a copy of your iTunes Media folder and stick it on an external drive, at the very least.)
seems to imply you can...

I just purchased a new laptop, so consequently had to buy Itunes Match to get all of my music back. Now everything is in the cloud, and I can't play them and cannot make a cd. Please explain how I can get my library out of the cloud and keep them on my computer so they are available when I want them? Wow.......why have you made everything so difficult now?

No you didn't.
Now everything is in the cloud
Except for anything you did not purchase in iTunes Store.
Only you iTunes purchases are in the cloud.

Upgraded my phone to iphone 6 from iphone 4. My iTunes with all my music is on a computer that no longer works and can't access the music. Will iTunes Match allow me to get my music off of my iphone 4 and put it on my iphone 6? Sorry about copying twice, new to this.
Do you have iTunes match? You need a computer to manage an iTunes match library.

I have downloaded all my music from the cloud to my new iPhone and created playlists so I can listen to it when not it wifi like when on a plane. If I turn on iTunes Match will I still have this music still downloaded? The online information suggests all my music will be replaced. Will I have to download it again??
What you have on your computer is your iTunes library, not an iTunes "account." The account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID, which you use to sign in to the iTunes Store and make purchases. It is also used with iCloud. iPods (that are not iPod touch) are associated with your iTunes library, not to your Apple ID.
So, I think you probably just need to set up (or update) automatic syncing for the iPod. If it's not set up to sync those new songs, iTunes still syncs the iPod, but it syncs nothing
In iTunes, if the sidebar (along left side of iTunes window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. In the sidebar, the iPod appears under DEVICES, when it is connected.
Select the iPod in iTunes. There is a row of buttons, starting with Summary. Click on Music next to Summary. This is the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music (if it's not already checked). If your iTunes music library fits completely on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. On the lists below, checkmark the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres that you want on the iPod. When you click Apply, the songs from your selection sync to the iPod.
One convenient way to set this up (if you can't sync the entire iTunes music library) is to create a new playlist in your iTunes library. Name it "iPod Songs" (or whatever you want). Put ALL songs that you want on the iPod on this playlist, including those new songs. Back on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes, select this playlist under Playlists. Going forward, to update songs on the iPod, just update that playlist in your iTunes library (add/remove songs). The next time you connect the iPod (or click the Sync button), iTunes automatically syncs the same changes to the iPod. -

I purchased iTunes Match to transfer all 6gigs of music from my storage to icloud.
The download is complete and all music has been transferred to icloud but on my iPhone I'm still using the 6gigs which defeats the whole purpose.
Question: can I delete the music on my iphone and if yes, how do I then use the icloud to access my music via iphone??
Thank you,
FTYes! It's very simple.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Usage, and under the Storage area, find Music. You may have to tap Show all Apps. Tap on it, then hit Edit, and then delete the data. This will delete all songs from your iPhone.
Then go to Settings > Music and turn ON iTunes Match. Go into the Music app, and all your songs will appear, ready to play/download, and you will have freed up 6 GB.
Enjoy!

I added my work laptop to iTunes Match, expecting to have access to my music library in iCloud. How do I get my iCloud library to show up?
Copy it from the other computer or from your backup copy of your other computer.

I have a large music library on my iPad, that is not currently on iCloud or on my main PC. If I sign up for iTunes Match, and then turn the iTunes Match on my iPad, will the music library from the iPad that is not currently in iCloud move to the iCloud? Or will I loose all that music?

Hello gogreenj14,
If you had iTunes Match updated with all of your non iTunes purchased content already, then yes, when you enable iTunes Match with the following article it will have all the content that has been uploaded to iTunes Match will be available for download.
iTunes: How to add a computer or iOS device to iTunes Match
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4913
Open the latest version of iTunes on the computer you intend to add. You can download the latest version of iTunes here.
Sign in with the Apple ID you use with iTunes Match.
Choose Store > Turn On iTunes Match.
Click the Add This Computer button.
When prompted, enter your Apple ID password.
iTunes will automatically begin scanning your computer's library for matches.
A status indicator will allow you to track progress. You may also manually pause and resume the process at any time by clicking the Stop or Start button.
Once iTunes has completed matching and uploading your iTunes library, your music in iCloud will be integrated into your local music library. A download button will appear to the right of any content that you have in iCloud that doesn't already exist on your computer.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,

ITunes Match is on but all my music is on iPhone?
Hi,
I've subscribed to iTunes Match, and successfully matched all my music. However, when I turn on iTunes Match on my iPhone, all my music is still on my phone. I've tried syncing my iPhone to iTunes a few times. However, when the sync is done each time, none of the songs on my phone have the iCloud icon next to them. The usage meter in iTunes for the iPhone shows it has all the music still on it. Finally, when I turn on Airplane Mode, I can still play any song on. Can someone tell me what step I've missed to get iTunes Match to work on my iPhone?
Thanks,
Jason MazzottaOn your phone, go to Settings -> Music. At the top, there should be a switch to turn iTunes Match on and off. Once you turn it on, it should give you a notice that doing so will erase all music on the device. Tell it that's fine, and then it'll activate it. To see everything you have, and not just what's on the phone, make sure to set the "Show All Music" switch to On once it appears.
If you're still having trouble, try hitting the Settings button in the top left and then go back into the Music settings and ensure the option took. I had to do this 3-4 times the first time I checked it after turning on iTunes Match. -
iTunes Match does not list all the music I had on my iphone. Not on my phone or iTunes. Only shows the music I've purchased from itunes and none of my 400+ songs. Please help. Thank you.
Is your music in your iTunes library on your computer and has match completed its scan of this library.

When I statred iTunes match I lost some of my music and all my playlists, has anyone had this problem? And can I restore it?
Restore your media from the backup of the computer created prior to restoring the computer.
You did create a backup, correct? Not doing so would be extremely unintelligent.
iOS devices are NOT backup devices. -
I have already backed up all the itunes files on two different external drives. And I have already set up icloud and itunes match. I am still paranoid about deleting the files from my MBP, but I need to free the space. What steps should I take to delete the files. And can I still keep itunes (w/o all the music files) on my laptop and access the music from the cloud? I know I can run them with the external drive plugged in, but looking for a way to do it w/o pluggin in.
I have tried that as well. The purchased songs are not in my playlists and they are still there. I manually deleted them on the phone but the sync puts them right back on there.
I only sync playlists and they aren't on there.
