Daily manual reboot required after charging

I have had my Droid Razor Maxx for 3 weeks. Since day I have to perform a daily reboot after left on charger overnight. The battery fully charges and I have a message light on. However, to actually turn on my phone I have to hold down the power and volume button for 10 seconds...EVERY MORNING...
I have heard and performed all the storied Verizon gives me..empty casche-done. I have turned every single app to "manual" update vs automatic as they told me an app may be auto updating causing the shut down (don't know how I got a Zappo's app but it was constantly updating.)
The new story Verizon tells me is that the shutdown was due to "a recent update...we are working on a new update to fix this bug"
I'm so ready to be done...someone tell me they are working on an update...PLLLEEEAAASE!

Congratulations on your new Razr Maxx,kmum357!
I regret to see that you are having problems with it after it is fully charged. I need additional information from you. When you charge it overnight, is it powered on or off?
You already mentioned that you have done troubleshooting steps that have been provided, therefore, I don't want you to repeat any unnecessary steps.
Have we asked you to try to charge while in Safe Mode? http://bit.ly/OJWrbo
Are you using any of the Smart Actions http://vz.to/10irowq? If so, I also ask that you disable them to test the charging again.
Please let me know your results.

  • Is server or service reboot required after editing registry in 13568 event

Is server or service reboot required after editing registry in 13568 event .

Hi Below is the event log guiding me to edit registry in order to resolve replication issue, In this case i cant restart the server or even service.I just want to know will this registry edit take effect with out reboot server or service.
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: NtFrs
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 13568
    Description:
The File Replication Service has detected that the replica set "DOMAIN SYSTEM VOLUME (SYSVOL SHARE)" is in JRNL_WRAP_ERROR.
Replica set name is    : "DOMAIN SYSTEM VOLUME (SYSVOL SHARE)"
Replica root path is   : "c:\windows\sysvol\domain"
Replica root volume is : "\\.\C:"
A Replica set hits JRNL_WRAP_ERROR when the record that it is trying to read from the NTFS USN journal is not found.  This can occur because of one of the following reasons.
[1] Volume "\\.\C:" has been formatted.
[2] The NTFS USN journal on volume "\\.\C:" has been deleted.
[3] The NTFS USN journal on volume "\\.\C:" has been truncated. Chkdsk can truncate the journal if it finds corrupt entries at the end of the journal.
[4] File Replication Service was not running on this computer for a long time.
[5] File Replication Service could not keep up with the rate of Disk IO activity on "\\.\C:".
Setting the "Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore" registry parameter to 1 will cause the following recovery steps to be taken to automatically recover from this error state.
[1] At the first poll, which will occur in 5 minutes, this computer will be deleted from the replica set. If you do not want to wait 5 minutes, then run "net stop ntfrs" followed by "net start ntfrs" to restart the File Replication Service.
[2] At the poll following the deletion this computer will be re-added to the replica set. The re-addition will trigger a full tree sync for the replica set.
WARNING: During the recovery process data in the replica tree may be unavailable. You should reset the registry parameter described above to 0 to prevent automatic recovery from making the data unexpectedly unavailable if this error condition occurs again.
To change this registry parameter, run regedit.
Click on Start, Run and type regedit.
    Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
    Click down the key path:
       "System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NtFrs\Parameters"
Double click on the value name
       "Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore"
    and update the value.
If the value name is not present you may add it with the New->DWORD Value function under the Edit Menu item. Type the value name exactly as shown above.

  • Is a Reboot Required after the new "Fix".

The recent HH5 "fix" has downloaded again today, 9-00 am after previously being downloaded 25/02/2015, at 01-00 am.
This suggests that the System does'nt know if the fix has been implemented.
    Just a naive question:-
Is a reboot required, as would be usual for some Windows Updates, where the user is told "Restart now"?

Slightly better news today. A TR069 event was logged this morning even while browsing through google. There was no interrupt.
There was one DSL drop last night, apparently due to a failure to connect to remote admin.

  • Reboot require after install the application from SCCM 2012 deployment

    Hi team,
I have a application which is having 2 executable files.
1.exe and 2.exe , reboot is require after install every executable file. Please suggest me how can implement this.
Once reboot done (1st executable file installed and reboot), SCCM should start 2nd executable file.

No, because when the application will be installed it will evaluate the requirements of the deployment types in the order of the deployment type priority. The first deployment type that can install, based on its requirements, will be installed, after
that the application will be considered installed and it won't process any other deployment types.

  • Macbook Pro Retina freezes requiring manual reboot

    Hello,
Starting a few days ago my notebook experiences severe freezes that
    require manual reboot.
The system is a Macbook Pro Retina from 2013, with MacOSX 10.8.5.
I use it for both work (software devel, MSOffice, Latex, Skype) and
    leisure (music, movies, browsing).
Apple software updates and most add-on software are up-to-date (with
    the notable exception of MSOffice).
Starting a few days ago, my computer started freezing. By freeze I mean
that the user interface completely blocks. I can still move the mouse
pointer (smoothly), but clicking has no effects. The only way I found to exit
such freezes is through a shut down using the button.
Freezes seem to be associated with video. They always happen when I
try to use both Skype and a browser. They also happen sometimes when
watching video on video streaming sites different from YouTube.
Funny enough, when Skype freezes, the user interface and the video
blocks, but the sound still works in both directions.
It does not look like a hardware problem.
At first the symptoms reminded me of viruses (I do have a certain age,
so I remember) but now I'm less sure. It could be a software
incompatibility (I seem to remember that I have accepted an Apple software
update just a few days ago).
I would appreciate any help in understanding the problem and in solving
    it.
    Yours,
    Dumitru

    Hello Link,
Thanks for your help. Here is the information you asked me to find.
    Some additional information:
    - Of the 4 reboots I can find in the log (I had more, they must have been overwritten),
3 show the same pattern as the one I pasted here. It ends with problems in
      OpenGL.
    - Both crashed I have on record are on VDCAssistant.
    - I don't find shutdownstalls.
    Regards,
    Dumitru

  • Reboot after charge

Is anyone else experiencing problems with receiving or making calls after charging? I touch to dial a number the screen just shows the called number, then off, called number then off etc. Often the intended callers phone will ring but nothing on my end. I then have to turn my phone off and "reboot" if you will. Great device, crap for phone.

A reset does not affect any data or settings.
A restore with iTunes completely erases your iPhone followed by reinstalling the current firmware version.
After the current firmware version is re-installed, the choices are from your iPhone's backup (which is the default selection), or as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
This must be followed by a sync to transfer all data not included with your iPhone's backup.
The backup includes data such as most iPhone settlngs, SMS messages, notes, email account settings, recent calls, call favorites, data created and stored by 3rd party applications, and photos captured by your iPhone, but I wouldn't depend on the last one if you do a restore.
Before restoring, import all photos captured by your iPhone. You can use iPhoto for this or the Image Capture application.

  • Sometimes my iPad1 locks up and has the flat battery graphic after charging all night, but will not work until you disconnect the charger, then it reboots and the battery is fully charged and works normally

Sometimes my iPad1 locks up and has the flat battery graphic after charging all night, but will not work until you disconnect the charger, then it reboots and the battery is fully charged and works normally.
It has only happened for the last month or so
Also, sometimes it drops out of apps, ie facebook etc. just like you have hit the stop button

Who replaced the battery? If it wasn't Apple the replacement is probably bad also. Either that, or the logic board is bad.

  • Cisco switches 3560 need manual reboot after power outages

    Hi everyone,
In africa we have lot of power outages.
Working at a very big company with more than 300 switches can be challenging if you have to bring them up by manually rebooting few of them on the property.
The switches are directly connect via fiber using LH/LX SFP connector to a 4500 Core switch which is on a UPS and does not go down during the outage; only the access layer switches will then need manual reboot....
Please assist in having a permanent fix on this issue.
Thank you very much in advance.

  • Reboot fails after software update - what now?

I've just performed a regular software update. I think it included the following 4 items:
    - iPhoto 08 (enhanced printing etc.)
    - Raw module update
    - 10.5.5 update
    - ??? don't remember this one
Three of the updates required a reboot so I opted to reboot immediately after installation.
Unfortunately I do not get beyond the white screen. I don't even get to the apple logo screen? Is there any way to restore without doing a reinstallation of the OS?
This is the first time I'm running into serious issues like this
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Olaf

Yes, I stopped doing multiple updates, esp. those requiring a reboot. I do the one-at-a-time now, and for the major updates, I do them manually from the Apple download page.
You have what I call a "stuck" update and what usually clears it is a safe boot.
Boot into the safe mode by holding down the shift key during boot. At the login screen just click restart and see if the system boots normally (it usually does) and see if all the DLs installed.
Post back either way. We never give up

  • IPod reboots itself after one particular track.

    Hi,
I've tried finding the answer through Google, but had no luck.
My iPod touch reboots itself after I choose to play a particular track. It happens as soon as the track has finished playing. It's strange because it only happens if I manually select this track to be played- it doesn't happen when the iPod selects it (like when it's on shuffle). I bought the song from iTunes so I'm sure it's not corrupt and this didn't happen with my iPod nano...

"it forgets what album and track you were playing before the recharge."
If you are charging it via a computer, that's normal. You are making a connection to the computer and it will show the "do not disconnect" screen. After disconnection, it reverts to the main menu.
If you charge via the wall charger, it will 'remember' where you left off.

  • Random iPhone crashes and reboot loop after iOS 7 upgrade

    Hi all
Since I upgraded my iPhone to iOS 7, I suffer from random crashes/resets, where my iPhone reboots and enters a reboot loop (Apple logo, black screen, reboot, Apple logo, black screen, reboot, etc) that I can only exit by restoring the device (resetting doesn't help).
    Some more information
    a) The device: iPhone 4, 32 GB, has never been jailbroken, and has never shown any similar issues before.
    b) The crashes/reboots: I haven't been able yet to find a pattern when and why they happen. I had reboots when searching for an app, when pluging in the wall charger, when entering the access code, and even when doing nothing at all (iPhone in my pocket). The only constant is the reboot loop after the crash.
    c) What I tried so far: I restored the device several times, using normal restore (with the iTunes logo) and DFU mode (black screen). After that, I recovered from a recent backup (takes some hours), and everything is ok again - for some hours, until the next crash and reboot loop. I also set up the device as a new phone, and there it seems stable, so I exclude a hardware issue. I tried quite a few of the advices that I found when googling for reboot loops: reset all settings (this led to an another immediate crash and reboot loop), disable app background refresh, etc.
I've been using this device for my daily business. With the current instability (and the couple of hours it takes to bring it back to life again), it became more or less useless. I wish I could downgrade again (I know that I can't). My assumption is that either iOS 7, or some incompatible app or some corrupt setting is causing this situation. But I don't know how to proceed to isolate and eliminate the issue. I really would like to avoid setting up everything from scratch again.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    All,
First of all, sorry for my half-finished post above. While typing, I was interrupted, and by reflex I hit CMD-S. Unfortunately, the stupid interface of Apple's support website interpreted that as a submit command. I tried to complete my text with the update function, but when finally hitting the submit button, I got an error message, and all my updated text was gone... No way to bring it back, and also no way to delete the half-baked posting. Quite frustrating.
Now, to complete what I started above:
In my case, the problem definitely had something to do with the springboard process (an iOS system 'app' that manages the iOS homescreens) and the watchdog process (another iOS system 'app' that monitors certain things on your phone and that can initiate a restart when it thinks the phone is frozen). In the folder '/Users/<your account>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<your phone>' I could see what caused my crashes; they were all 'stack+SpringBoard' and the reason in these crash log files was 'Watchdog timeout'.
The following two forum posts helped me:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1676330?start=30&tstart=0
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20794982#20794982
I'm quite sure that my issues had to do with the 'application map' that is mentioned in the above posts. So far, Ive been thinking that it was just too large (as in the case of Andi1996 [second link above]), but jmbladen's observation seems not to support this. So, the absolute number might not the source of the problem, but I still assume that something went wrong with my application map during the upgrade from iOS6 to iOS7. I remember having stability problems before, as soon as all my 10 home screens were full of apps and newly downloaded apps would generate additional pages (only visible via iTunes). Considering that there are some fundamental changes to how we can organize apps within folders in iOS 7, it can well be that the springboard process just wasn't able to cope with my application map correctly within the 120 seconds before the watchdog process restarts the phone. My massive cleanup action must have fixed this somehow.
@jmbladen: I'm only using iCloud for the 'find my phone' functionality, so all the backup & recovery was done via iTunes from my local harddisk. And there was no temporal pattern for my crashes before. You might suffer from the same symptoms, but probably not because of the same cause.
My advice for anyone affected by random crashes and a reboot loop is to check out the directory with the CrashReporter logs mentioned above to find out what app or process causes the crash. If it's the springboard and watchdog problem, then you should try to clean up your home screens (from iTunes). Maybe the absolute number of apps is not that important, but make sure that you reduce the number of screens. And then sync and backup before you start using the phone again. In my case it helped.
Hope this helps someone else too.
P.S. Once you know the right keywords to search for, you find forum postings back to 2008 / iOS 2 describing exactly the same problem. This reboot loop is a very nasty issue, and it is hard to understand that Apple still hasn't been able to address this, or at least provide some better help on how to get out of it again.

  • Group policy - 'install pending - reboot required'

I have deployed software using GPO - Computer Configuration - Assigned software.  This has worked with flying colors for most computers on our domain - all running Windows 7 x86.  Only a select few computers have failed to get this software installed.
When I checked RSOP.msc, I get a message that the install is pending and awaiting reboot.  These machines have rebooted many times and yet the same message appears on RSOP and the software has yet to actually install.
Where is it getting hung up?  Is there some sort of install cache that I can clear on the PC so GPO will try to send the install from scratch?
We have tried several things to try to isolate variables:
Tried gpupdate /force - I am prompted to reboot, and when I do so the software does not install
Checked GP Result - shows that this software install policy was "applied" to the computer, yet it isn't installed
Checked RSOP.msc, I get a message that the install is pending and awaiting reboot - reboots do not resolve this
Added permissions for "everyone" at the distribution point NTFS and share (I doubt it's permissions anyway since installs were successful on most computers before we added more permissions)
Tried adding a Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/Group Policy/Startup policy processing wait time - 20 seconds (I tried this after reading this forum question -
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverGP/thread/2a2175bf-132f-46c2-bc5a-4c67932141e2/)
Furthermore, every test I try to manufacture grabs the GPO and installs the software with success.  The only machines that fail are machines that aren't easy for me to access as people are using them during the workday.
I have grabbed the event viewer information for a failing PC "WOLF", these events show every time after logon as well:

    > TeamViewer 6 MSI PDX failed. The error was : %%1274
Not really an error - more an information. Results from a "gpupdate" and
    means "reboot now, please".
    > from policy TeamViewer 6 MSI PDX failed. The error was : %%2
File not found. That's odd... May need further investigation.
    > before the user logon. The error was : %%1274
    See above - reboot required.
You may activate appmgmt debug logging and then post the resulting log
    file: In HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Diagnostics,
set AppmgmtDebugLevel (REG_DWORD) to 0x9b and examine
    %windir%\debug\usermode\appmgmt.log after the next reboot.
If no other solution, you may try to cleanup the appmgmt history key so
that all SW deployment GPOs will be processed again: Rename
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\AppMgmt and
    recreate empty.

  • Reboot Required informational message is getting old...

I lost my hard drive and had to reinstall Acrobat v7.1.0 Professional. Tech Support was very helpful in getting me what I needed to reload the software.
However, two very irritating things are happening:
    1) When accessing a pdf file, I periodically get a message that says Reboot Required: "You must restart system before you can do another update." and,
    2) Always upon rebooting, I am taken to the C:\Program
Files\Adobe\Acrobat.com directory, and then nothing. I see no need to go to
    this directory.
Tech Support says they no longer support v7.1, just v8 and v9.
Functionally, it seems to work, but after rebooting a half-dozen times, the error keeps stalking me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rick

First (my only) idea is to verify that you have all Adobe automatic updates OFF
There have been some reports of this "feature" causing problems
