Daily Show double download

I have a multi-pass for the Daily Show on the iTunes Music Store. Recently it downloaded the same episode twice in a row. Will this count as two seperate episodes of my multi-pass?? If so, how can i get refunded?
ibook g4 (7/2004)   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

i got a response from apple when i wrote them an email, it was as follows:
Thank you for your recent purchase of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
We have discovered that the episode "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
3/20/06" contains an error. We are currently working on fixing this problem
and will notify you once we have a resolution so that you may download the
corrected episode.
We apologize that the episode cannot be properly viewed. We very much
appreciate your business.
Sincerely,
The iTunes Music Store Team

i hope this means they will fix it and give it to me (us) for free.
whats funny is, you can get much better quality than even the good downloads if you buy a DVD and make an MPEG4 file using the free program called "Handbrake".
Plus, like TRLHTTN suggested, it isn't going to replace DVDs anytime soon. i live in japan so i always watched the clips on the comedy central website, but i decided to buy the multi pass so i could KEEP the videos. plus, i dont even have a VIDEO iPod, i just use quicktime pro to watch the video full screen on my computer. it is NICE, but it certainly isnt necessary. if the problems persist, i may not get another multipass...
i hope its resolved soon, and judging from past problems with upgrades and such, i think it will be.

  • Daily show not downloading with a multi pass

i have a multi pass for the daily show. the latest episode is available on the itunes store to buy, but won't download with my pass. does anyone know why or how to fix it?

You know the Daily Show is in reruns this week, right? There won't be any new episodes until Sept. 10.

  • Why is the Daily Show taking so long?

I am about to give up my multi-pass for the Daily Show. Downloads used to be available within hours of the programs. Now, it regularly takes 3 days for them to appear. I'd rather watch clips for free on Comedy Central if I have to wait this long.
Does anyone know why this is or why Apple/Daily Show people don't care? They are about to lose a customer.

This is Apple's response to my e-mail and my response to them:
    Dear Bruce,
Good afternoon. As a fan of shows like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, I completely understand where you are coming from as far as the delays on getting those shows. Rest assured, Apple strives to provide quality products through the iTunes Store, but sometimes the videos that are provided to us are not the standard of quality you would expect. If they are below our standard, there may be a delay while we request new videos or work to fix the ones we have. This is especially true now that iTunes is transitioning to a new version. We are working hard to provide higher resolution videos and we make our best efforts to make the videos available for download within 24 to 48 hours of their air date.
I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience. If you have anything else you need answering, just let me know. Thanks!
    Sincerely,
    Brett

    Hello Brett,
Thanks for your answer. I do understand there can be issues like this, so I will see if it clears up in the coming weeks. If not, I will have to end my subscription. It makes no sense to pay money for these videos when they are available on Comedy Central several days earlier and friends see them before you and discuss them.
    Sincerely,
    Bruce

  • Anyone else unable to download the 3/8/12 episode of The Daily Show?

Anyone else unable to download the 3/8/12 episode of The Daily Show?

    Thanks for trying it out.
At least if I'm losing my mind I'll have some company; I'm getting the same page as prom. Sun tries to tell me it's my browser settings, and I keep asking them how my settings can cause them to generate a page like that, then they tell me that as far as they're concerned, the issue is closed.
Just to double-check with yawmark et al, since my original post may not have been clear: the error comes when you click on the actual download link: http://javashoplm.sun.com/ECom/docs/Welcome.jsp?StoreId=22&PartDetailId=jdk-1.5.0_05-oth-JPR&SiteId=JSC&TransactionId=noreg
I'll assume that silence means "yeah, dummy, we understood what you originally said, and it worked."

  • TS3297 I cannot d/l Daily Show but can d/l podcasts. I paid for Daily Show. Showing 'cannot connect' - well the radio works and the podcasts work, y not downloading paid shows?

  • My iPad is double downloading iTunes TV series shows and when I delete, the extra show does not delete from the available memory.  I have lost almost 30GB of my 64 to this phantom shows.

I am losing available memory on my iPad (64 GB 3rd gen) and it appears to lose memory because some TV shows that I have downloaded from iTunes are appearing twice in my downloads.  Both download, but when Only appear as 1 show on my "videos".  After viewing the show, I delete, but the duplicate show appears to be still there somewhere (not visible anywhere) taking up the same amount of memory that showed before downloading.  It reduces my available memory to download other shows.  The general settings do not show any of these phantom shows taking any memory, but the total available is much, much less than what is showing for all usage such as music, videos, photos, apps, etc
Is it possible to delete a show from the download portion of iTunes if you have already seen a show and do not want to waste time or memory downloading again?  The only way that I know is to let it download completely and the delete from "Videos".

John0618. Did you ever get a response or solution to problem?  I have the same problem (starting about three months ago).

  • The Daily Show Multi-Pass: how does this work?

I subscribed to the Daily Show Multi-Pass. The store said it was busy and try again later. So I thought I'd do it later but meanwhile got an email saying I had the multi-pass and 9.99 has been deducted from my account!
The email has a link to view account preferences. It says that 2 of the 16 episodes have been downloaded - nothing has been downloaded (and only one show is currently available).
According to the email: "You will receive an email when future episodes of The Daily Show are available and the episodes will be downloaded automatically to the account listed above the next time you sign in to iTunes." What? When is that?
It would be great if this worked with RSS like podcasts instead of some mysterious download time.
    Is this working for anyone?

Okay here's what you have to do: Go to the Music
Store, and click the button with your e-mail address
at the top right (below "browse"). Then click "Sign
out" in the popup. Then click where your e-mail
address used to be to sign in again. Your episode
    will start downloading.
This is a stupid way for Apple to do it, but at least
it technically works so until they make it easier
this is what we're going to have to do every day.
    Argh!
Hmmm...when I did the above, it ran through the "Checking for purchases" before starting the download. So I wonder if doing the "Check for purchases..." selection under the Advanced menu would do the same thing without the hassle of logging out and in. I'll give it a try tomorrow...

  • Daily Show July 10th?

So I know my Daily Show multipass hasn't expired, and yet Monday's episode is not available for me to download. This is especially strange since it is available to purchase on the store. Am I the only one with this problem right now? I can't seem to find any recent posts about this suspected blip, so I'm a little worried it's not Apple but me.

You are not alone. I have the multipass, and I still have 5 more episodes to be downloaded, and when I check for purchases, it tells me all available music has been downloaded.

  • How do I stream Daily Show or NYT videos?

Thanks for reading and responding to this. I have an ipod touch and would like to be able to watch NYT videos and the Daily Show on it, streamed from the internet. How do I do this and what do I need to download-- or for some reason, is it not possible? With appreciation for any input, -Becca

    Hi,
"The Daily Show" videos appear to be in Flash format, unfortunately this is not supported on Safari on the Touch at the moment. I don't know whether they can be found on YouTube, they maybe available there.
    regards,
    Dud.

  • Daily show not showing up? Yes, i'm checking for purchases.

I purchased a multipass for the Daily Show for the second time (the first time it worked great), but this time, this week I haven't recieved any of the episodes. When I check for purchases it tells me i have all the episodes downloaded. I'm assuming that they had the show this week, because it say on the comedy central website that it's on tonight. But on the iTunes daily show page, the latest episode is the last one that I have. Is there something i'm missing? Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks

The Willie Nelson episode appears to have been the last new episode aired. The Daily Show is, from what I can gather, in repeats this week and next. The next new episode seems to be scheduled for June 5th.

  • Daily Show comes in after the free Web version online, why is that?

Bought pass for Daily Show and Colbert Report, first 2 came in fine but now they are a day late. I can watch for free on the Comedy Central site right away. Seems a waste since its a current affairs show, why pay if it's downloading late?

    Leedowbali wrote:
Actually my "problem" is not being informed up front that a periodical subscription likely would not be delivered on time BEFORE paying the fee.
... and have you taken this up with the show's producers? As roaminggnome has pointed out to you already, iTunes can only provide the show when the owners give them (iTunes) the ability to do so.
    Leedowbali wrote:
My problem is NOT their (iTunes) messy agreement with Comedy Central.
So it couldn't possibly be Comedy Central's messy agreement with iTunes then?
Not every single thing is Apple's/iTunes' fault.

  • Where's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart !?!

Is it me?... It just seems that The Daily Show episodes are getting ready to download later and later - It use to be that they were available within several hours of broadcast (email in my inbox the next am) - but now.... it takes what appears to be several days now...
Anybody got any ideas on how to encourage CC to get off the couch and make the time to get the shows tot he iTunes store?
    Tivo?
    G5's, G4's   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I was wondering what was up with the daily show multi-pass, but I dont think this is very cool. I still want to purchase a multi-pass but it wont let me. I sign in with my account, and click on multi-pass for the daily show and it says
    ALERT
The purchase information on this page is out of date. Please click OK to refresh the page.
I then click OK, and it begins to refresh the page in itunes, however once refreshed (everything looks the same) it happens all over again, and it wont let me purchase a multi-pass.

  • Daily Show - Multipass not working 26th/27th September?

Last week I purchased the multi-pass for the Daily Show and every day successfully my Ipad downloaded each new episode.
This week it is not downloading anything and asking me to pay for each individual episode when I have 13 episodes remaining on my pass.
I believe there is a problem Apple end as I have not received the normal alert saying there are new episodes, when there are 2 (26th & 27th September)
Please can anyone tell me how to get these without having to pay again! Trying to get in touch with Apple yesterday didn't get any results!
I'm really annoyed as it is a topical show and I have already missed two this week!

There are several threads in the support forums about this issue.  The wrath of a host of grouchy Daily Show fans who haven't had their morning laughter will be swiftly felt.
I am betting this is probably a Comedy Central thing more than a iTunes/Apple issue.  It seems that the uploading to iTunes gets screwed up everytime someone goes on vacation (or an intern leaves).  I am guessing a magic bit didn't get flipped that identified the episode as being Multipass eligible.  But I'm just guessing...
