Damaged installer

I have tried downloading the installer for CS6 master collection multiple times in multiple browsers and still get the same error. After downloading when I try to run itsays the application can not be installed because the installer is damaged. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's pretty annoying.

Thank you Storyhead_online for the additional clarification.  It does appear there is some problems with the Adobe Download Assistant 1.2.3 package.  I received the following results in my log file:

  • Adobe Air. Damaged installation.

On start up I get a pop up  " The installation of this application is damaged. Try reinstalling etc."  Have tried reinstalling Adobe Air and get the same reply. I have now trawled  through my registery files, deleting all Adobe Air files in order to get a clean installation and have reistalled AA but still get a "Damaged Installation"  Can anyone suggest a solution?

    Hi,
It's hard to determine exactly what is causing that error without knowing what app is causing it.  Since AIR is just a runtime, it by itself isn't the cause of the problem.  I think I'd try a couple of things.
First, I'd initiate an uninstall of AIR via the uninstall programs control panel.  The first thing you'll be presented with is a list of AIR applications that are installed.  Here's what mine displays, note the 3 AIR applications I have installed on this system.  Click cancel once you've written down the list of applications.
Next, launch msconfig and click the "startup" tab.  Examine the list displayed against the list you wrote down earlier to determine if you have an AIR application launching at startup.  If so, uncheck the app in msconfig and click apply.  Reboot and see if the error still occurs.  After resolving the error, I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the offending application.
    Hope this helps,
    Chris

  • Uninstall damaged installation file.

I tried (and later succeded) installing spotify but I can't purge an earlier damaged installation file from the trash can. It just hangs saying it's deleting....and doesn't. Help anyone?

Thanks but tried that several times. Found this though which did the trick.
Start by creating a new user in the Accounts System Preferences panel. It doesn’t really matter what name or access level you give the new account; it’s going to have a very short existence. Once the account is created, move the troublesome file from the trash into the /Users/Shared folder. Now (via Fast User Switching or a traditional logout/login), log in as the new user. Open the /Users/Shared folder, and move the troublesome file into the new user’s trash.
Now logout of the new account and log back into your main account. Return to the Accounts pane in System Preferences, select the account you just created, and click the minus sign (or just hit Delete). The system will put up a dialog box asking if you’re sure you want to do this, with three options: Cancel, OK, and Delete Immediately. Select Delete Immediately, and the troublesome file (along with the new user and the disk space they used) will disappear. (If you just press OK, the files from the deleted user will still reside on your drive.)
It may seem a bit time consuming to delete a file in this manner, but it’s very safe (much safer than the Unix solution), and will work on files that seem immune to all other solutions.

  • Damaged installs... that open anyway.

I've just signed up for CC and have downloaded several apps including Indesign, Illlustrator, PS, Acrobat, Bridge. But when I open most of them it says, 'your installation is damaged please reinstall.' Except that a couple of seconds later it opens the app anyway. Photoshop, in particular, says I need to reinstall Application Manager (which isn't on my CC list of apps to install).
It may be relevant (or not) to know that when I first tried to install CC it got hung on the spinning wheel, so I had to delete the contents of my OOBE folder in Library/Application Support/Adobe. I've restarted several times as well. I'm running 10.9.4 on an iMac.
I'm wary of using the apps in case they end up corrupting or damaging files in the process. Can anyone demystify this for me?
    Thanks.

Thanks Mylenium. I'd love to say that solved the problem, but unfortunately no. Repair/restart and no change.
It's possible that this is not a huge problem, as I've been able to use the programs successfully with no apparent consequence to the files at all. But I'd really rather not have to deal with alert windows every single time I open an Adobe app, so it would be nice to fix it all the same.
Any other ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

  • Damaged Installer for Mac OS X Lion

I have tried numerous times to install Adobe Flash Player (versions 10.3.183.5 & 11.0.1.152) on Mac OS X Lion.  Every time the installer proceeds to approximately 5% completion, then fails with the following message:
    The installation failed.  Get support.
From searching other threads I found the recommendation to run the uninstaller package, then download and re-run the latest installer package.  The uninstaller package runs fine, but the installer fails again.  Another thread recommends to control-click the Install Adobe Flash Player Application, then Show Package Contents, then open the Contents/Resources folder to find the Adobe Flash Player package.  When I try to run this package I receive the follwoing error message:
The Installer is damaged.  The Installer can't open the package.  There may be a problem with file ownership or permissions.
I have tried downloading the installer different times from both the Adobe website and download.cnet.com with no success.  This is a factory install of Lion and I have installed several other applications on this Mac with no problems.  I have installed JRE and ensured that that the Flash Player plugins are not currently installed in my Internet Plugins folder of my Library and the core Library.  I have installed Google Chrome and flash runs fine with it's flash player plugin.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I cleared my cache by using the Safari/Reset Safari menu item (which deletes a lot of stuff), cleaned out my downloads folder, then emptied the trash.  I used the direct link to the Mac installer listed in the linked article.  Same result for both methods of opening the installed package.  I checked the file information for the installer downloaded and it showed the most recent download time for the version 11 installer.
Also, just for grins, I downloaded the installer using Chrome.  No luck that route either.

  • Application cannot be installed due to a certificate or damaged installer problem.

I downloaded from here (http://www.adobe.com/go/muse_latest_mac) since the CC App Manager (for Muse) is not working either.
I also tried launching my old version of Muse. I saw the option to download a new one so I did. This time it says the installer is damaged.
I uninstalled the old application and attempted a re-install using the link from above. Installer damaged message followed.
Looks like I won't be doing much with this for a while. I'll check back later...

Please refer to the following article on working through this error message - http://helpx.adobe.com/muse/kb/installer-file-damaged.html.

  • Damaged Installable - "invalid signature error"

    Hi,
When I export a Release build for a Flex AIR Application, I am specifying a digital signature (that I created via the Flex Builder Export Release bild wizard).
But when I try to install the .ait file, it gives me the following error:
    Code:
The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author.
The install log says - "invalid signature error".
    Appreciate any inputs.

  • How can I uninstall a damaged installation of Fusion - PFRD 11.1.1.6.0 - Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer

    Hello,
I am upgrading EBS 11i to 12i, Discoverer 4 to 11. After completing ebs installation and upgrade successfully, I am now working on the Oracle Fusion piece of the upgrade.
    I have installed
    1. JDK
    2. Repository Creation Utility - RCU (schema)
    3. Weblogic - WLS 10.3.6
    4. Oracle Fusion - Discoverer 11g Release 1 Patchset 1 11.1.1.2.0 PFRD
    5. Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Patchset 11.1.1.6.0 - Patchset 13517084
    6. Executed config.sh and it failed with but continued.
During the Configuration of Oracle Fusion with config.sh there was failure at with "fails at creating data sources" and accidentally proceeded and all seem to go well until after shutting down the servers when Weblogic Managed Server is unable to start.
The start log indicated: "weblogic.store.PersistentStoreFatalException: [Store:280105]The persistent file store "_WLS_WLS_DISCO" cannot open file _WLS_WLS_DISCO000000.DAT." and I have been unable to find a solution for this error?
See log file error at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15497130/oracle/ebs11/startManagedWebLogic.sh_nohup.out
If re-installation is my only option, then what are the steps to uninstall, and which components do I have to uninstall given that I had upgraded all the schemas involved?
    Mathias

    Hey,
You can always change the JDBC datasources in the Weblogic admin console . but have you recorded what is the specific error you got during the datasources creation .
I prefer...create a new user , give him sysdba privillages . Start RCU and create the DEV_DISCOVERER , DEV_DISCOVERER_PS schemas (prefix is your choice)
The Admin server will start . so go to admin console .
    click services -> Data Sources
Check the data sources you have . edit each datasource and update the connection pool information .
after this you can start the Managed server WLS_DISCO
i believe this will solve this .........
if you still get issue again . you can try the link Using the WebLogic Persistent Store
    Thanks

  • Damaged Installation DVD

How would I go about obtaining a replacement for my (apparently) damaged Install DVD?

I finally got to speak to a live person, but the news was not good. According to him the fact that the OS was bought more than three mos. ago meant that I just had to buy another one. I've bought every version of OS X as it came out and have never asked for tech support on any of them. I tried Leopard but my 933 MHz processor doesn't seem up to the task. Don't know what I'll do now, but thanks for the help that you tried to give...

  • Preiere Pro 2 Mac damaged installation media

I have a valid license key for the Mac version of Premiere Pro 2 but my installation media 'exploded' in the drive. Therefore I have a valid key but nothing to use it with. Adobe are no help and tell me they don;t have older versions to download (apparently it's because I bought a boxed version, if I'd bought a download they might be able to help even though they have no copies of any old versions anywhere in their organisation - which is why they can't help me.)  and I will therefore have to buy the new version. WHAT?? This is very expensive software and I don't need the latest & greatest. What I have suits me fine. Can anybody point me in the direction of an installation image or trial version download (if that'd work??) so that I can use the software I paid for?
When you pay so much for software I expect better customer service. What makes me really mad though is that all the people who have no morals about software piracy just take the latest version for nothing whereas those of us who try to do things the right way still end up getting shafted by Adobe. What if my installation media hadn't failed quite so dramatically but had just simply deteriorated over time and subsequently failed? These things happen. I thought I bought a license, not a physical disc. You know for sure that if I had a physical disc but no license key they'd be telling me the key was the important part and that effectively that was what I bought. Makes me so tempted to just join the no morals gang and take their software for nothing but my principles prevent me from doing so.
    Damn principles!
Anyway, if anybody can help with installation media for Premiere Pro 2 for Mac I'd be grateful. I'm not looking for anything dubious, I have the license, I just need the installer to attach it to.
    Thanks.

That would explain why I can't find a download for the installer, but not why Adobe support didn't tell me that, even when provided with the license key. I assure you there is nothing 'bootleg' about this and if you're right, then the info I've been given about the product one of my tech team was trying to install is duff. I would hope Adobe can tell me what the license is actually for and then I might be able to make some progress. Maybe it was premier, not premier pro?
I guess the next step is to go back to adobe and ask them what product the key is for. If it turns out to be Premier, judging by their earlier attitude it's not going to make a lot of difference... Thanks for the heads up though.

  • Rescue workspace from damaged installation?

    Hi everyone
I'm having a somewhat unique situation here.
I have been the one who has been installing and using APEX for years now, and everything has been fine. However, we switched hardware architecture a while back (which I wasn't in charge of) and due to that my Apex installation broke since it was just an export / import of the schemas involved (flows_0xxx , apex_0400 , flows files etc) to the new machine and the new database. Fine, I figured I could reinstall it and get it back up running, but i'm having major issues.
I first tried to drop the old apex_040000 schema and reinstall apex, but it gives me errors with several packages being invalid (for example flows_api) and installation is aborted.
I figure I can clean out everything and start over, however I really need to rescue some of my workspaces since there is quite a lot of time spent on some of those.
Is there some way to rescue these workspaces? I have exports of the schemas so the data in the schemas is ok, but Apex doesn't really love imports.
Anyone have any experience with this?
    Sincerely
    Johnny
