Damaged Majora's Mask 3DS Limited Edition Game

So I waited, and my preorder finally arrived - and I noticed it came from a return center. Unsurprisingly, the box was damaged.
I mean it's bad enough I had to wait until now, but I then get a damaged secondhand one? I understand that it's rare but it's a real low blow after also having to wait longer than friends who I called to tell to preorder when I saw it was up for sale.
I'm not interested in a return, just venting.

  • Majora's Mask 3DS - Still Pending

    Hopefully someone can help here.
    So I've spoken wtih multiple reps at the 800 number. I've been told number of things from my order being cancelled to delays at the distribution center due to weather (understanable). As of today my order still doesn't have a shipping confirmation, I was charged for a product that hasn't even been shipped and received different answer from different people. What infuriates me is that I can't get an aswer from anyone, I just get an answer to get me off the phone (I've waited for 50 minutes on hold!).
    I never received an email for mass cancellation that happen a few weeks back or anything for a back order notification...just a "Order In Process".
    Now I was just told that I should receive it before March 2nd. I don't even know what to believe now from BB reps.

    There are few things more frustrating than waiting for your order to ship, especially when it’s something as highly anticipated as the limited edition Majora’s Mask 3DS system.  I can understand your concerns at this point.
    Regrettably, I don’t believe that we are going to be able to fulfill this order as this item is sold out and we do not expect to receive any additional copies of the system.  I can only recommend cancelling the order or you can wait to see if the order is fulfilled.  However, I do believe that the order will end up being cancelled after a certain point due to the unavailability of this product.
    I will reach out to our support team to see if I can get more information on your order and once I have more information, I’ll send you a private message with the details.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope in the upper right hand corner.  It may take a few days to receive a response, so I appreciate your patience.

    I was able to place an order for the new 3DS XL MM Edition via bestbuy.com. My order shows processing so all seems well. My question is in regards to when this will ship? I usually use amazon.com for online preorders as they are shipped so that they arrive on release day. Is this the same with bestbuy.com? If not, would it be possible to switch to in-store pickup so that I can get the item on release day? Thanks.

  • Cancellation of Majora's Mask New 3DS Order

    After preordering one Majora's Mask New 3DS system, my husband and then my brother, who could not immediately place orders themselves, asked me to place orders for them. The second and third orders seemed to go through fine, and I got no indication of any problem.
    Today, a week later, two of the orders were cancelled due to "order limitations and limited quantities." It seems Best Buy is enforcing a limit of one console per account? If so, I applaud Best Buy for taking steps to stop scalpers from buying in bulk and reselling limited items. That being said, two people are going to be extremely disappointed.
    I've ordered multiples of limited/collector's editions in the past and never had this happen. Was there any kind of message on the item page that stated this limit and I just missed it? I ordered the items on my phone one at a time, so I didn't try adding multiples to my cart.
    I am hoping someone will be able to tell us in advance when these cancelled quantities will be available for preorder again. I am sure there are others who missed out on getting one that would also like to know the date and approximate time so they can make plans to watch Bestbuy.com.

The cancellations you reference occurred due to the orders not being in-line with our BestBuy.com Conditions of Use. While this ensures that our customers only receive one console as intended, it sounds like the extra systems you purchased were for your family. I truly apologize for any frustration here and for what it’s worth, I’m very happy to see that you are understanding of our reason for the cancellations.
    In regards to the awareness around these limitations, we do have things in place to inform our customers of these limitations. Had you added a few of these to your cart, you’d have been notified that you could not order more than one.   • New 3dsxl Majora's Mask Edition

    When will my new 3dsxl majoras mask edition ship? The order status is currently PREPARING ORDER and has been for a couple of days. All of the other sites that sold preorders have already shipped theirs.

    I'm in the same boat. Best Buy took the money out of my account three or four days ago and updated to "shipping soon". People who ordered from other retailers have had their items ship and in some cases already received them, while we're told absolutely nothing. Heck, some places like Target and GameStop re-opened orders on Friday (the release date) and people have already had those ship. I would have considered ordering one of those, but of course Best Buy has already taken my money and won't allow me to cancel the order.
    When the Limited Edition bundle of the game with the statue was announced, I was hoping to preorder from Best Buy because their customer service has always been top-notch for me, and with GCU, their pricing is the best. With this experience, after the number of cancellations, the delayed shipping, and no communication to know what the reason is or if it will be shipped at all, I will definitely reconsider preordering from Best Buy again in the future.

    I have been over and through the website and I noticed that with the new BIOS which (3.6) the Turbo2 (which I don't have) can run up to a 160GB Hard drive.  I was wondering what the max is for the normal turbo.  My WD 27.2 GB drive is going sour and I want to upgrade to a Seagate 200GB HD, since I plan to use it when I upgrade in January.  Any ideas whether it will work without out major headaches?

    Thanks for pre-ordering Destiny at Best Buy! It’s no surprise that with the recent announcement of the Limited Edition versions, there’d be questions around upgrading your current pre-order from the standard edition.
    If you’re wanting to pre-order one of the Limited Editions of Destiny,  your current pre-order would need to be cancelled as we don’t have the ability to upgrade your current pre-order. The way in which you would cancel your current pre-order depends on where it was purchased. If you made the purchase in-store, you’d want to bring your original receipt back into the store and speak with customer service. If you placed the pre-order on BestBuy.com, you’ll want to start by logging in to your account and locating your current order. Once you’ve located and opened the order, you should see a box next to the item that says “Cancel Item.” Check that box and then click the “Cancel Selected Item” button a bit lower on the page.
    Once completed, please keep an eye on our main thread for Destiny, as we’ll be updating it the moment we receive more information around the availability of the Limited Editions.

    I am wondering if Sony will ever decide to make a Call of Duty Black Ops III Console design?  1. I think it would be funny to annoy the butthurt crying xbox fanboys who are stupidly want to riot.2. It will boost their sales by trying get xbox fans to get a ps4  What do you guys think

    If they were going to do a Blops III limited edition console I'm sure they'd have announced it by now. Thing is, what would they do? I mean, the colouring for Blops is black and orange... the PS4 is already black, and it has an orange light. I am however very surprised that they haven't (as of yet) done one though. Given all the limited edition PS4s that exist for other games that Sony have strong tie ins with, like MGSV, Batman and Destiny, I'd have thought a Blops III limited edition console was a shoe-in. It is after all the biggest franchise in gaming.

    No diff in hardware. Only diff is in the bundled software being the Gamer version have more games bundled. Remember reading this before in the forum.

With that, I’m sorry to hear that you may have received a standard version of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call, especially if you ordered the Limited Edition.
    Due to the delay in response, it’s quite possible you’ve made a determination here. If not, checking with your local store to see if they have the Limited Edition of the game available wouldn’t be a bad route to go! Returning the game is definitely an option as well, as you acknowledged, although we usually hope for a resolution, so you don’t have to go that route!
