Damaged multilayer files after reopening - strange semi transparent color fields in all layers.

Big multilayer files show strange semi transparent square fields, without having worked on the the file. After closing instant and reopening it get's even worse. Files are for a product configurator with a lot of layers and file size up to almost 1GB. Now two huge masters are damaged like this? Any ideas to repair them?
If not days of clipping and coloring have to be done again...

Turned GPU off (OS 10.10.2) and restarted, but no differece. The file preview in finder shows the damages as well...
PS is CC 2014 2.2 on MBP 17, 2,8 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB,SSD. Right now I'm updating to OS X 10 10.3. Can I upload the files anywhere to check and probably repair them?
Thanks a lot for help...

  • Damaged Quicktime File after Timecode in FCP

    Hello,
I modified the timecodes of a number of Quicktime files which are stored on our shared server EDITSHARE. I access Editshare via afp protocol.  Now, these files are corrupted and cannot be opened.
These files were originally @ 5GB and about 14 minutes each.  After being corrupted, they were only 1.1GB and 2 minutes each
I have been researching and read somewhere that if you modify timecode via FCP7 on a file that is stored in a volume that is not Mac formatted or from a network drive, then the file can get corrupted.
Can anyone point me to a solution to this as I desperately need these files?

I appreciate the feedback.  I checked the processes upon AE start and found that the Adobe QT server32 starts then closes in the processes before AE actually loads up.  If it is supposed to remain open, it does not.  I can not find where to change its permissions.  I looked the site you sent a link to, but do not see that section.

  • Looking for a script exporting pdf files after changing PMS to CMYK colors

    Hello every one,
I have lot of files which needs to change in InDesign
    1. PMS colors (if any) to CMYK
    2. Exportas a specific color profile (GWG_GenericCMYK)
To do this I have file names, sizes information in excel sheet. Can I assume with scripts…?
New file sizes, name creation      will be using of excel sheet,
Save      the file (location I will choose manually sounds that script needs to      pause here)
Placing in center of the      document than
Color swatches changes PMS to     CMYK (if any other wise leave it as it is),  at the end
Exports file as a pdf with     already defined pdf settings (GWG_GenericCMYK).
Can some one make my dream come true ...???
If anyone solve this situation it’s saves my towns of time. Please help me any tremendous scripter ….

Restore the device from the backup created prior to the update to put everything back the way it was prior to the update.  This will not downgrade the iOS.

  • Stage3D semi transparent textures

I have been playing arounf with the Stage3D with moderate success but i have an issue rendering transparent textures.
as you can see some of the faces at the back are only partially rendered.
E.g. the bottom face is rendered through the front face but not through the side face)
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this sort of behaviour?
you can see the demo here. (www.spoboyle.co.uk/demo/) click to pause the rotation
I have also included a screen shot

I have a solution now for the cube problem (or any convex polygon)
cull the front faces draw the polygon and then cull the back faces and draw again.
so generally when dealing with semi-transparent objects
    first draw all opaque objects
then draw all semi-transparent objects in order starting with those furthest away from the camera (convex objects should be drawn twice as mentioned above)
if you have any concave polygons all I can say is good luck!
I have removed all the above links and placed all the files here.

  • Semi-transparent table cell

I know that table cells can be filled with a color or not have a fill (in which case they are transparent. However, is it possible to have a semi-transparent color in a table cell. I'm not referring to a tint, but a color that you can see through to objects that are underneath it.

    Hi Jay,
The only way I can think of is by cheating, you could put a transparent rectangle shape into the actual cell, make sure you set the cell insets to 0 though. However if you want text in the cell as well this text will be transparent.

  • After reopening dreamweaver files, the table and its contents are not shown in design view

I got a problem with deisgn view which has stucked me for the whole week. I've designed a webpage with dreamweaver CS4. After reopening this webpage, I got problem to see the tables and images inserted in dreamweaver (the sliced images from fireworks works well). Somehow this problem only existed in design view, but NOT is browswer view/ live view.  I thought it is the setting problem, but I tried to reopen the webpage I designed earlier... got no problem in either design or live view. I also tried starting over another new file, same problem existed (tables/images do not show in design view) I am really confused. Any thoughts?
I've already done my research everywhere, but cannot find solution.

Thank you so much... it works...
I should come here earlier... wasted lots of time !!

  • ITunes automatically imports music after re-boots (damaged .itl file)

Every time I start ITunes after my computer has been re-booted, ITunes starts importing my music library and says I have a damaged Music Library file (itl). If I allow ITunes to import my music files then it works fine (all playlists and ratings intact) even if I exit & re-enter the Itunes Application. However, as soon as I reboot the system I get the same damaged file dialog box. Also, I've tried waiting after I have booted the system for a long time to make sure it isn't conflicting with startup processes.
I have a lot of songs and it takes ITunes a long time to import each time, and it is really frustrating. A temporary work-around is that I make a backup copy of the "itl" and "xml" files each time after I exit Itunes when I have made changes. Then after a reboot when I start Itunes, I stop it from importing the library, finding artwork, gapless scan, etc... I copy the previously saved "itl" & "xml" files into the ITunes folder and the ITunes program will then start up correctly with all my music files, ratings & playlists.
    _*A. COMMENTS*_
    1. Since the "itl" file I copy into itunes folder (as per my work-around)is an exact copy of the "itl" file that was originally in the ITunes folder after a reboot, I don't think the ITunes file is actually damaged, since ITunes will boot from this file after Itunes is started a 2nd time. This also shows me that it is not a path issue.
    _*B. SETUP*_
    1. Dell 3.4Ghz Pentium 4
    2. MS Windows XP Home Edition (service pack 3)
    3. Recently upgraded to ITunes 9.0.3.15 (did not resolve problem)
    4. McAfee Security Center virus/firewall software
    5. Ad-Aware spyware checker(resident)
    6. Spy-bot Search and Destroy spyware checker(resident)
    5. My Music files are located in C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\My Documents\My Music\ (itunes folder is also in same folder)
    6. My Itunes Library .itl file is 2,842 KB
    7. My Itunes Music Library .xml file is 16,580 KB
_*C. WHAT I HAVE TRIED SO FAR*_
    1. I have re-installed ITunes
    2. I ran scan disk (fixed errors & checked physical disk). It did say it repaired something with an "XML" extension, but I didn't write it down because I thought it fixed the issue, but I don't think it was the itunes xml file
    3. I cleaned a bunch of junk files (internet cache, etc) and defragged
    4. I completely un-installed ITunes and ran a registry cleaner to remove all references to Itunes, Then I installed ITunes. ITunes imported my library and lost all my ratings & playlists however it found all of my artwork (not just automatically created from internet) I re-used an old .itl file for ratings/playlists. However I did try with the newly imported "itl" file and the same problem was persistent
    5. I tried restoring my computer to month ago when everything was working correctly
    6. I tried for hours looking through multiple forums and the ones that I found that have the same problem (only after reboots) were never resolved. Most of the others just tell people how to get their library back
    7. I tried to call Apple Itunes tech support on the phone and was told that Apple does not provide Itunes phone support for PC's. I did pay good money for 30Gb & 16Gb Iphones, so I am giving Apple Money. I would own a Mac however my profession uses software not supported by Apple.
    _*D. QUESTIONS*_
    1. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I'm going to try to figure out how to start in some sort of safe mode and log the processes to see if there are any conflicts, but I'm running out of options.
    2. I did copy rather large 1200x12000 artwork from the internet into some of the CD's because I was printing them, however I later removed the artwork and replaced it with 300x300. I noticed the Album artwork Cache & Download folders seems rather large and convoluted. I was thinking about possibly deleting all artwork from my library and deleting these folders to see if there is something in there.
Please Help, I've spent far too many hours trying to resolve this issue. I just don't understand that after uninstalling, and cleaning registry that re-installing didn't fix this issue.

    Followup:
The link you posted wasn't really any help, but I believe I have finally resolved the issue (after 2 consecutive reboots without problems -- knocks on wood). I wish I could single out exactly what resolved the issue, but I went crazy and did a lot of things last night/this morning (and didn't have the patience to reboot after each single change).
Here's a list of a few things I remember doing
    1. Installed updated hardware drivers using Uniblue driver update software (a couple were bundles that affected quite a few things). I booted up this morning only to get a repeated "REFMONINITIALIZATIONFAILED" dialog with the blue screen of death. I wasn't worried as I did a complete backup of all my personal files last night, anticipating a full rebuild today. So the next time I rebooted I used the "last known good configuration".
    2. I don't have any indexing programs (that I'm aware of), but I clicked the library file, xml files and all other files in the itunes library root directory and unchecked the "For fast searching, allow Indexing Service to index this file" box after right clicking and selecting "properties" and then "advanced"
    3. I rolled back ALL Uniblue SpeedUPMYPC2009 system tweaks (except internet) that were automatically done when I ran the program on 1/10/10.
I have a strong inclination that one (or more) of the Uniblue system tweaks did something that prevented my library file from being accessed the first time after after a boot that I started ITunes. I apparently hadn't accessed ITunes for a couple weeks after I ran the Uniblue program, so it didn't register that it could have caused the issue. At some point in the future I'll try to pin down which tweak caused the problem, but for now I've wasted far too much dealing with this and don't care if my computer runs a few milliseconds slower.
    Thank you for responding

  • How do I ensure that a semi-transparent background stays that way when converting a pptx file to PDF

I can't seem to get a semi-transparent background image when converting to PDF file.  Every time I try it - the image converts to a full color - zero transparency background, muting out the text on the page.

    Thank you.

    Hi LeighAnnie,
If you're running Windows, you could try setting up the CreatePDF Desktop printer.

  • Semi-transparent JToolBar = strange behaviour?

I need to have semi-transparent toolbar in the application I am making. I am using toolbar.setBackground(new Color(0, 0, 0, 50)); to do so.
At start the icon looks like this:
    [Screenshot1|http://i29.tinypic.com/j66cky.jpg]
After a few mouse transition, the transparent part of png icon becomes totally black:

Ive tried using JButton (with ActionListener), instead of JLabel component, but the behaviour remains the same.

  • Creating semi-transparency without PNG files

Hi I have designed a logo for a friend and he needs to upload it onto a companies web site. They have said that it must be either Jpeg or Gif. However, since there is some semi-transparency in my logo a Gif file wont allow this and a Jpeg wont create any transparency. They wont allow PNGs. I have tried to find out what colour the website background will be so I can simply put the logo in a box of the same colour but apparently he is not able to find out this info.
Is there any other way of getting around this?

Can you change the logo so the gradient goes to a solid color instead of transparency?
The very use of gradients at all is relatively new to the world of logo design. When UPS redesigned their logo several years ago there was a huge uproar in the community of the use of gradients ( see: http://www.dinesh.com/images/stories/logo/worldfamouslogos/ups_logo.jpg ).
I don't think I've ever seen a logo that uses alpha transparency though, due to the exact problem you're having.
Look at some of the samples on this site, perhaps it'll spark a creative idea that'll help you fix the problem:

  • I don't want to go back to raw after reopening a photoshop file.

I do all my raw adjustments, I save, then I open in Photoshop, like they told me it'a a good workflow, but for some reasons I always end up reopening
my CS3 files, which brings me back to Raw and I end up refixing that too, all over again. How can I stop a file from reopening in raw and make itr re open in CS3 right away. raw version just prior to 5.5

What type are you saving them as TIF, PSD, JPG, what?
If you're saving as JPG or TIF and they're opening in CR again, there is a setting in Photoshop CS4 / Preferences / Camera RAW... down at the bottom, to Edit all JPG/TIF or Edit already adjusted JPG/TIF or neither.  Maybe you have that enabled?

  • Damaged image files in gallery of 311 - 5.92

hi, when tapping accidentally on a picture in the gallery while it is still scrolling, there is a great chance (in my case 100%; I have been able to reproduce it) that this picture file will be damaged, leaving only about some lines of pixels visible or even nothing. The thumbnail is not affected. The damaged file may even resist to be deleted; after shutdown & restart I have been able to delete the image file.
Beware of accidentally touching the gallery while it is still scrolling
May be one day even the nice Asha 311 will have robust software ...

hi, after searching for possible reasons for the effect of damaged image files, I now suggest the following candidates: There are in fact damaged files on the 2GB microSD card, that came with the 311. I moved the card to another asha 311 & there again have been the thumbnails of my photos OK, but the respective images opened in some strange way: either only about 2 lines of pixels, leaving the rest of the screen grey, or for a very short time, less than half a second, a kind of blurred preview appeared and thereafter the 2 or thre lines of pixels, as before.
But that is probably not the full story. I looked into the directory of the card with the DOS Terminal DIR command where all files, especially those that did not open correctly, seemed to be OK, having file size, dates etc. But could not be opened using the Windows Explorer of WIN XP. But: In the parent dircetory i detected a damaged entry of a directory with a name (related to <<attachement received>> ?), but the other entries missing (see attachements).
The damaged files all have come from the camera, i.e. small 300x300 px files which I copied the 2GB microSD in the phone where not affected.
Just to get rid of the damaged files I then formatted this microSD, to see if will be usable again, after putting the blank card into the 311, the counter of  new photos did not start at zero, but obviously from the old count, leaving the question: Bug or feature? (The card to date is OK in the other 311 which I use for testing)
In summary: The card may have contributed to the loss of photos, but I'm not fully convinced. In future I will try to save photos more often to my desktop PC.

  • What's most efficient for drawing a semi-transparent overlay?

I have a large .TIF loaded as a RenderedImage through JAI and drawn with Graphics2D.drawRenderedImage(). It can be scaled by the user and it uses the JAI operator "Scale" to do it and is extremely fast given the size if the TIF (2528x3297).
The problem comes when I need to take another image and use it as an "overlay". Only the red part of this image needs to actually be drawn, and that needs to have some transparency. The rest of the image should be completely transparent. I'm looking for a fast and efficient way of approaching both the drawing and scaling. Any type of image (supported by AWT/JAI at least) is acceptable, passing it through a filter at runtime to make the parts transparent or semi-transparent is fine too. I'm just looknig for a good methodology that will offer speed in both drawing and scaling in conjunction with the TIF mentioned earlier.
I tried using a PNG that already had the desired transparency but it behaves oddly. If I load it as an Image using ImageIO.read() and then use drawImage() and getScaledInstanceOf() it draws relatively slowly, but just barely acceptable, but takes way too long to scale. If I load it as a RenderedImage with JAI and use drawRenderedImage() the painting is extremely fast when it's first loaded with no scaling and when i scale it it's fairly fast at scaling, but after it's been scaled it draws extremely slowly.
I tried using a GIF but had pretty much the exact same issues as PNG. Slow scaling and decent drawing as an Image and quick scaling and drawing initially, but extremely slow drawing after it's been scaled.
Strangely enough one of the best middle grounds I've seen in my experimentations was a .TIF I loaded in JAI, converted to BufferedImage, passed through a filter to make all white transparent and all black be red, and then drew as a BufferedImage.
I'm totally lost and confused here. Could someone please help me out with some advice?

Ah, that's the kind of confirmation I was hoping for, thanks! Though if anyone has anything else to weigh in (specific considerations and the like) then feel free!
