Damaged Photoshop Elements 12

I changed computers and my copy of Elements 12 is now damaged. When I try to open the application, it tells me to reinstall. How can I do this? I don't have the original download image file on my new computer, and the welcome email I received from Adobe Systems Incorporated didn't include a download link.

Have you got the serial number?  It should be in the email you received from Adobe.  you can download version 12 from this link:
<Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>
hope this helps.

  • Photoshop Elements 9: cannot install, files are damaged [Windows 8.1]

I tried it with both downloading the two files from Download Photoshop Elements products | 9, 8, 7 and Photoshop Elements 9 / Premiere Elements 9 Direct Download Links | ProDesignTools, neither installation worked.
When trying to install with the separate .exe file, it says that "An error occured while extracting some files, please check if there is enough space and if you are allowed to write in the folder." but there are 152GB free and I'm the admin.
When trying to unpack first and then install via the .exe inside the .7z, it says "Error in "PSE 9\Data11.cab". The file ist damaged." and so are all the other files: listed as damaged.
I downloaded the files multiple times and tried a lot: I reread all the "Very Important Instructions" on ProDesignTools and followed them strictly, did not find something in the "troubleshoot installation", downgraded Adobe Air to the version inside the .7z, set up a new user account on my computer (even though I installed Windows 8.1 only last week) , deactivated all tasks via msconfig, did a clean boot... installing failed every time.
Once, I archieved to get the .exe working and it started to install, but at one point of about 75% an error occured, that "some files are damaged" and the process made until this point was automatically cancelled, deinstalled. It only took a few minutes longer until failure.
But what else can I do? I already read in this forum that Pse9 + W8.1 worked for others. But it does not for me. So, are the files damaged?
    Thank you for any advice!

Please check if the downloads are the full size, and not somehow truncated.

  • EXIF description data lost or damaged by PhotoShop Elements

    Hello,
When editing a photo in PhotoShop Elements, I have, depending on the case, one of the two following issues:
    - EXIF description is lost in the file saved by PhotoShop Elements
    - National characters (é, à, å, ö, ø and similar) are damaged (replaced by é, à , Ã¥, ö, and à respectively).
Feeedback from a different discussion thread says that in order not to loose EXIF description, it is mandatory to use Adobe Organizer for editing photos with PSE.
As we have named more than 100.000 photos using EXIF, I would like to get any advice from other users about how to solve this topic before starting to use extensively Adobe PSE.
We believe 30-50% of descriptions contain at least one national character.
    FYI
    - As we edit photos on two different hard disks and exchange them both ways, Adobe Organizer is not of much help. Only the description stored in the .jpeg file will be correctly synchronized between the disks, whereas information stored in organizer will not be correctly copied.
    - In parallell with PSE, we use an old software Microsoft Picture it for editing photos. This software does not recognize IPTC description, so unfortunately use of IPTC (handled correctly by PSE) is not a solution. By the way, anybody knows how to copy EXIF description to IPTC description for 100.000 photos?
    - We systematically copy the date + description of the photo into the file name (using XnView to rename files) in order to make this information visible in Windows Explorer. This method seems to be incompatible with the way organizer works (renaming is not recognized by organizer).
    - We have two computers, one on Windows XP and the other one on Windows Vista, so solution must be independent of Windows version.
Thanks in advance for any help or ideas about how to efficiently store descriptions of photos and make them visible in Windows Explorer.

  • Photoshop Elements 2.0 damaged media.

I have Photoshop Elements 2.0 that I received with an Epson Scanner several years ago.  I'm moving to a new PC and need to reinstall it, but the disk is damaged.  Is there any way I can use my license key with the trial version or download an installer version of 2.0?
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply Ned.  I have one additional question though.  I have a
copy of the Photoshop Elements 2.0 trial installer which installs the
program with a 30 day time limit.
Is there a way I could apply my license code to the trial installation?  The
"Register" entry under the "Help" menu is grayed out.
    Thanks for any help,

  • New Mac: Why are CC and Photoshop Elements not working when Lightroom and Reader are fine

Last week I changed computers (swapping an old Mac for a 13-in MacBook Pro Retina running OSX Yosemite 10.10.3. I copied all my data over to the new machine using Migration Assistant.
All programs work fine (including my copy of Lightroom 3 and Reader XI). But my CC and Photoshop Elements 10 do not. I have tried uninstalling both, but whenever I try to reinstall PE10 from its disk or download it just stops almost at the end. I then I get an "initiation failed" message, along with a request to download the now defunct "Support Advisor" app!
I cannot download Adobe Application Manager, or the CC desktop app either - for the former I get an "initiation failed" message, along with the "download Support Advisor" app" message again! For the latter I get a message saying "Adobe Creative Cloud Is Needed to Resolve this problem - however it is missing or damaged." Then I get a message and a link to download Creative Cloud. Then when I've downloaded it and I click on the installer... it runs for a bit and then I get the message again: "Adobe Creative Cloud Is Needed to Resolve this problem - however it is missing or damaged." And I get a prompt and link to download the CC app. Guess what happens next? And so it goes on. And on and on, in a tedious circle.
This is incredibly annoying and frustrating as I have work to do! Anyone have any ideas what's happening?
    Cheers
    K

do not use migration to install adobe programs.
you should uninstall and clean whatever you've done, Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
then dl the cc desktop app to your new computer and use it to install your adobe cc programs, Download Adobe Creative Cloud apps | Free Adobe CC trial
if you have non-subscription adobe programs, use the installation files for them:
    Downloadable installation files available:

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

  • Can't install Adobe Photoshop elements 4 anymore. Why?

    Greetings!
I tried to open a post with the support team, but they said that the support for my product was no longer available.
I'll copy the post I posted to the support:
After not using Adobe photoshop elements 4 for a year, i decided to install it again on my new harddrive as my last one crashed. When I
try to install from the CD an error message shows up telling "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application
vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installage package". I've tried to install the CD on several computers after that, but I just get the same error message every single time. The CD is not damaged/scratched in any way as it has only been stored on the box it came with.
I am using a legal version of Windows XP and I don't have pirated software that should effect the installation.
    Operating System: Windows XP Home
    Browser: Opera
Has it ever worked? If so, what's changed? (provide comments in description field): Yes
Same results with different file?: Not Applicable
Same results with different computer?: Yes
Recent System Hardware or Software change?: No
I'm considering just downloading pirated software instead. I bet I can have less problems and better support if I download it pirated, instead of buying it (AGAIN) for a 100$. It's ridiculous if u ask me.

    If you are lucky...
You could try coping the CD contents into your OS clipboard and paste it onto your destop. Run the setup.exe from this desktop folder. It's worth a try although I'm doubtful it's the answer.  (Opera shouldn't be a factor...use it myself.)
Could be XP SP2 related maybe have a look at this thread:
    http://techrepublic.com.com/5208-6230-0.html?forumID=101&threadID=250182&start=0
or perhaps the windows installer package isn't up to date...see this:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=889482FC-5F56-4A38-B838-DE776FD41 38C&displaylang=en#Requirements
and this goes with the above link...it's to do with Office but note the cause of the error:

  • Office 2004 Install and Photoshop Elements

Please forgive my total NOOB inquiry especially since I am an experienced Linux user. I have attempted to install Office 2004 onto a 1 month old MacBook. The disc mounts, I open it, and double click the Office setup assistant. The result every time is that Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 opens, and eventually fails with a can not open the file error. Why is Photoshop elements trying to open it? I also tried copying the entire Office folder to the applications folder (just to see what happens). When then trying to launch the individual Office apps, Photoshop Elements again launches. Please advise. I have googled this to death and found no one with a similar problem. Thx

I have basically the same assumption on file
    associations with PhotoShop Elements. I'm
    investigating two paths right now:
    1. How to keep PhotoShop Elements from trying to
open this file type, even though it has no file
extension. I have yet to find where these file
associations are made. Time to read the manual. Is
it done through the App, or OS?
I think it would have to be the OS, but I don't know how you would make use of that info. The only way I know of is to examine thru the Get Info window. If you do a Get Info on the setup assistant, does it have the Open With section? If it knows it's an app, it doesn't even show that section. If it does have that section, it should let you change it from Elements to something else. You may also be able to uncheck the Hide Extension checkbox and see what extension it has.
    2. I'm going to borrow someone else's Office 2004
install disc to see if the installer auto-launches
after mounting and double clicking on the disc. I've
found it odd that my current install disc doesn't
launch. Maybe, just maybe, I have a damaged disc.
    Worth a shot.
Yes. I have Office v.X installed, not 2004. And I just copied it from my old Mac; it's been forever since I used an Office installer disc.

  • Having problems with aperture 3 on imac osx 10.7 and wish to install adobe photoshop elements 10, question will i loose all my liberary from aperture??

would i loose my fotos from the aperature library when i change to adobe photoshop elements 10. aperture keeps shutting my system down all available help has not done any good.  gmadeline

You'd only loose your Aperture libraries if you deleted them or damage them in some other way. The simple act of installing another app will not do this.
Of course you do realize that PS will not have any access to the Aperture libraries. If your originals are referenced then PS can get to them as it would to any file. If your originals are managed you will need to export them in order for PS to use them.
This all assumes you are abandoning Aperture for PS. If you are looking to do something else post back,

    What exactly means "refuses"?
This is the message which comes up if I try to update (from the Help menu) or re-install my licenced copies of CS6 or Photoshop Elements 9.
    “We've encountered the following issues
Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem”
    Get Adobe Support Advisor”
    OR
on trying to open PhotoshopCS6 I get this message:-
“Adobe Application Manager required to start your trial, is missing or damaged.
Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager_uk”
When I follow these instructions and try and start up/install or update Photoshop CS6 I get the same messages all over again. This has been going on since Tuesday afternoon and I am anxiuous to resolve the problem. For several years now all this has worked perfectly through your website and I cannot understand what has changed.  Once I cancel these messages the products themselves seem to function OK. When I attempt to use Adobe Update Manager I get the same messages as above. You will see that my products are properly licensed and up to date. Have you any solution?

  • Organizer Photoshop Elements 13 = AVCHD - No Sound

    Hi,
    today
I installed following test versions: “Adobe Photoshop Elements 13” and “Adobe Premiere Elements 13” on my Windows laptop (Windows 8.0 64 bit). My digital camera is “Panasonic TZ61”. It makes AVCHD videos. Each AVCHD video consists of 4 files, eg Video1:
    Video1.m2ts
    Video1.cont
    Video1.pmpd
    Video1.tmb
When I import “Video1” into the ADOBE Organizer following error message appears for the files 2-4 (extensions: .cont, .pmpd, .tmb) :
File is damaged or has a format that can not be inserted in Elements Organizer.
    and:
1 media file (s) was (were) imported.
3 media file (s) was (were)
not imported because it already exists in the catalog either / or are not supported / are
I can view the video in the Organizer, but there is no sound! But when  I  drag this video file from the Elements Organizer into Adobe Premiere Elements 13 to theVideo Editor (New Project), then there is a sound!
What do I  wrong or can the Organizer play no sound?
Sorry for my bad English :-)
