Damaged touch pad ribbon cable on HP mini 110 4100ea, replacment wanted

I recently let a friend try do up grade the ram on my HP Mini 110 4100ea but in the process he damaged one of the ribbon cables on the curcit board strip contaning the touch pad buttons specifically the one conecting it to the motherboard rendering the touch pad inoperative.
I Have tried looking on the internet and ebay for a replacment part without any luck, does any one on this forum know where I could get one?
I live in the UK and would prefer to get any part from the UK but would be ok to get from abroad.

Need Touch pad ribbon cable for Satellite L350

Hi!
I'm running an L350 bought last September and it's been quite troublesome. The ribbon cable for the touchpad broke somehow, generally stopped working.
I need a replacement cable but my local IT shop has been unable to get anywhere.
Has anyone got any idea where I could get one? Anyone got an L350 or compatible laptop for spares/repairs they'd consider giving away/selling? Any help much appreciated!

In my opinion it will be problematic to find such small parts in IT shops.
I can just recommend you to contact nearest authorized Toshiba service provider.
They have exact part numbers for all Toshiba notebook parts and they can order them separately.
Check also eBay but chances to find parts for this new notebook model are not so good.

Damaged DVD ribbon cable

I opened up my ibook because it stopped firing up. Seems a common problem. 18mths old. The alternative was to throw it away. After moving its components about a bit it now works. (result) But I've damaged the dvd ribbon cable connecting the mother board to the DVD.
Does anyone know where I can get a new ribbon cable online.

After reading several posts:
I don't see "touch pad settings" under mouse in control panel.
I want to either:
1. disable the touch pad so that it stays disabled, even on restart, or
2. employ the "touch pad disabled" when mouse installed option.

How Enable Virtualization Technology in HP Mini 110

How to enable Virtualization Technology in HP Mini 110 ?
I want to install some OS in VirtualBox, And i want to enabled VT for share 2 CPU. Generally, this can be enabled in BIOS but HP Mini BIOS does not have any option to do this. Even i was update my BIOS.
I would like to know the way to enable VT on my HP MINI 110, Intel Atom N570 1.66 GHz processor.

G62X-400 (ld642av) won't charge, power button ribbon cable might be damaged.

Friend's daughter's laptop had an issue with the cable going to the LCD. When opening it I noticed some screws missing from the machine near the back and middle. I took everything apart and realized the display cable had been stressed I assume due to the flex from the missing screws and when pressure was applied to it, the screen would come on. I replaced the cable and all is well, or so I thought.
Problem is the ribbon cable from the power button seemed to be a little funky as well. Wouldn't really go back well into the zif connecter or back flip connector and the little bar on the connector ended up coming off. I thought I got it back on, it powered up but I didn't realize it was apparently no longer taking a charge. Bottom line is the laptop ran until the battery depleted. If the ribbon cable from the power button was damaged, would that prevent powering the laptop and/or charging the battery or is something else wrong?

The answer is yes - when I force the cable in using pressure, it charges the battery and will accept power from the charger. I'll have to get a new power ribbon cable as it appears to have lost some of the metal contacts on the bottom.

Ipod Mini: Broken orange ribbon cable?

So yesterday, I had the bright idea that I would replace my iPod Mini battery. I mean, it was fine otherwise, and it had all my favourite songs on it.
Long story short, I didn't read the directions thoroughly enough and I broke the orange ribbon cable that connected the motherboard to the casing. Is there any way to get a replacement?

You may want to search eBay for a broken iPod mini. Most iPods that use a hard drive for storage are broken for a bad hard drive, so the other parts are usually working. Find one that sounds like a bad hard drive, or worn out battery. This way, you'll have some other "spare parts." Find a seller who looks like a "person" selling their personal iPod mini, not a repair or parts scavenging "shop."
NOTE: There are two generations of iPod mini. I'm not sure about variations in the internal parts, between the two gens.

Mini 311 Touch pad stoped working

The touch pad on my sisters Mini 311 suddenly stoped working. But it was working fine before, I can't figure out why. I don't think she chaged anything. Is there a keybord hotkey to turn it off? I know forexample on my acer aspire if you press fn+F7 it turns the touchpad off. Is there an equivlent on the Mini? Or is this a driver issue? I tried reinstalling the driver but that didn't help.
This a new PC she's had it only a week .
Any sugetions?

How to reset screen touch pad on Ipad mini

I have been using the ipad mini for sometime now and one issue that really bugs the heck out of me is.......When I am typing in landscape mode or in standard mode, everytime I hit the enter key to drop down to the next line it types a "P".
I always check to make sure I didn't hit the key by mistake......but it happens all the time!
Can I reset the screen touch pad fuction?

Broken ribbon cable on Macbook Pro 17-inch

Today I tried to change my harddrive on my Macbook Pro. But somehow my brain disconnected for a quarter of a second and I broke the black connector attached to the ribbon cable connected to the keýboard and touch pad.
What are my option? Can I get a new cable or do the whole top part has be changed? Can I get spare parts from Apple? Or do I need to send it in?

Call them up & ask them.
As for doing self repair try the Do-It-Yourself Laptop Repair website.
You can always send it in to Apple or an AASP but you will need to pay out of pocket since you caused the damage. Warranty does not cover self inflicted accidents.

Hi. My Hp Pavllion dv7 keyboard and touch pad will not work. Been going on for a few months now. Read in the support forum that replacing the battery might help however it hasnt. Ran updates for Windows Vista and Microsoft Security Ess. Boots up just fine however unable to place in my password to get to my user profile and always have to work from guest......unless I have a USB keyboard handly at the time. I use a USB wireless mouse as well.

Cracked Touch Pad on Officejet Pro 8500 Premier

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier Wireless All-in-one printer (#A909n). The touch pad is cracked and I'm wondering if it can be replaced. I can't find the part in the online listing. The printer is functioning (by computer and buttons), but it is hard to copy or change any of the copy-defaults by using the touch pad. Thanks in advance for your help.

HP does not recommend refilling the ink cartridges it may cause damage to our printer. It does sound like the chip on the ink cartridges is not seeing that the ink is full, try replacing the cartridge with a genuine HP Ink Cartridge and see if the issue is resolved.

Satellite A660 - touch pad on/off and other buttons don't work

Dear People on this forum,
Recently, around 3 weeks ago i opened up my computer and i cleaned it, took the dust out because it was overheating.
around 2 weeks before I noticed that my touch pad is not working and the top buttons are not working, there is no light (wireless multimedia sound buttons) I cant turn them off/on or I either don't know how. I am not sure if the problem is because I cleaned my laptop and did not connect some wires back but I am including this detail because I don't use those buttons so I did not notice if they were on. but 2 days ago I am not sure how my wireless went off ant when I press fn+f8 (wireless) it says wireless communication switch is off, which is one of the buttons that is not working (at the top next to of/on switch including with my touch pad)
I have tried the following:
windows update
turn off computer take out all wires and battery and wait for around 30min. Then hold then on button for 30s
reinstalling the flash cards support utility, hw setup and value added pack
and finally a Toshiba out of the box recovery using the 2 product recovery cd's
I am not sure what to do next. it is either:
try something else
or is there a wire is connected to both touch pad and the buttons at the top and i should open up my laptop again and connect them.
please answer as to my next step to recovering my wireless.

Please dont understand me wrong but I dont know how to help you now. Notebook disassembling is for authorized people only and if you do this on your own there is always a risk that something can be done wrong or maybe damaged.
OK I must also say that I have also disassembled my machine too but I was lucky and everything is OK as before.
I dont know how A660 looks inside but the principle is always the same and I cannot imagine you have damaged anything.
You know very well that we cannot say much about your problem. What you should do now is final functionality test and install original recovery image that you got with your notebook. Test functionality with factory settings. If the problem is still there, Im afraid you must open notebook again and check if everything is connected properly.
Last option is to contact service and ask for help.
