DAQ Assistent nor Data Neighborhood recognize a USB chassis and modules, but "Measurement..." does

I am using Labview 2012 Full Development, and cDAQ-9188 8-slot chassis with Ni-9203 (current), NI-8205 (voltage), NI-9213 (thermocouples), and NI-9485 (switch) modules installed. Measurement and Automation Explorer, Network Devices, recognizes the chassis and installed modules, evidenced by the serial numbers of each displayed. I have downloaded DAQmx 9.6.1. Neither Data Neighborhood nor DAQ Assistant recognizes that the chassis or modules exist. So far, I don't think I sound confused, but, I am.

Thanks, Marand. As I wrote in the post, MAX Network Devices recognized the 9188 chassis, and listed the modules installed in the right-had panel. Neither Data Neighborhood nor DAQ Assistant recognized either the chassis or the modules. The solution was incredibly simple, but subtle. CompactDAQ chassis and modules connected to the computer via USB are automatically recognized, and that is what I expected. However, the 9188 is an Ethernet chassis; while the chassis was recognized on "Network," I had to select "Add Device" to have MAX recognize the modules. Just clicking on that option populated the tree. All is well now. I should tell you the steps you suggested are exactly those suggested by an NI Applicatoins Engineer to whom I spoke. It was during that conversation that I suggested selecting "Add Device" just because we had tried everything else. Thanks again for your help..

I updated to IOS6 on my IPAD 3 and IPad shows a pic of USB port and ITunes but will connect and/or turn on even when I connect to my computer.

Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore iPad.

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.

Need to output data to TXT with static header and footer but multiple rows

Using APEX 4.0 and 11g - The only way I could find to get data out of APEX in TXT format was to use htp.prn. I load a cursor with the data and this works fine, the problem is that I need to have the file start with a string (*:P9_HEADER_STRING*) but it can only appear once in the output.
Is there a way to add the *:P9_HEADER_STRING* to the output in a single TXT file? or is there another way I should be doing this?
This is what I have now: The *:P9_HEADER_STRING* is in the loop which I know it can't be, but I can't figure out how to concatenate this string to the output from the loop. The rank() is being used because I can only send the selected number of records, ranked from highest. (I will have to do the same thing with a footer too, but that variable isn't in here yet)

I've solved my problem by loading the cursor data into a variable (inside the loop) and concatenating the header info to it (outside the loop). This works when there are only a few records but as soon as I get to 32767 bytes it's throwing an error because of the size. So that's a different issue altogether.

Windows doesn't recognize WD Elements all the sudden but Ubuntu does

Hey guys A couple of months ago I bought a WD Elements HDD and everything worked fine up till a few weeks ago. All the sudden the drive became unreadable. It does show in "My Computer", but not with the name I gave it. It has the name "Local Disk (I)" and nothing more. And what's even worse, when I doubleclick it, my explorer crashes. The same goes for device management. The drive is basicly unreachable. Some crucial information though. From the moment I bought the HDD I intended to split it in two partitions. One partition (250 GB) has been formatted to a EXT4 file system so I could install Ubuntu on it and another one was formatted to a FAT32 (250 GB) file system so I could use that space for both Windows and Linux. For like 2 months that worked perfectly so I do not believe it has anything to do with the split-up. However, what I do think is strange is that I can boot to Ubuntu without any problems and even acces my files on my FAT32 file system. I do not use Linux often and I do not want to keep porting files to my USB stick just because the HDD is not being recognized by Windows. It really gets ennoying and I'd like to solve this. How to achieve data from more than 1 DAQ-assistant?

When running my LabVIEW program using the data coming from 2 simulation sources, no problem occurs and data is correct.
When using the data coming from 2 DAQ-assistants (real data), an error occurs, telling the following:
"ERROR 50103 occured at DAQmx Read (Analog 1D Wfm NChan NSamp).vi, reason: The specified resource is reserved. The operation could not be completed as specified"
Does anyone know what exactly is wrong and how to solve this problem?
Nowhere I found a solution for this problem and I have been trying numerous things to change in the program, but the same problem keeps occuring.
Could anyone please help me?
I need to solve this to be able to perform tests for my graduation project.

The problem is you are trying to access the AI channels at the same time. When you setup the first DAQ assistant it reserves the AI section of the board. When you then try and use the second DAQ Assistant you get the error because it is trying to access a reserved section. If you had 2 different boards this wouldn't be a problem. That is probably overkill though. What you can do is read multiple channels in the 1st DAQ assistant and then in your program split the data off if you need to do different calculations.

New project using Daq Assistant or not ?

I trained myself a little bit on c# lessons to get use to this programming language; I’m also discovering Measurement Studio & Visual Studio. (I’ve background in C++).
My software will have 2 modes :
Continuous acquisition, signal plotting + signal processing & plotting (fft, 1/3 octave band filter)
Triggered acquisition, signal plotting + signal processing & plotting (fft, , 1/3 octave band filter)
I have examples in my National Instruments directory which don't use daq Assistant and code is different from generated files with daq Component.
If I use Daq Assistant ( http://www.ni.com/tutorial/4652/en/ )
I know that the code to create channel is stored in DaqTask.cs

I didn't succeed to configure my 2 modes in daq Assistant (continuous and triggered acquisition) is it possible or should I create 2 Items in my solution, one for continuous acquisition and on for triggered acquisition ?

Check out the downloads section of iLounge.com. There are a handful or two of applications that will help you transfer songs from the iPod to the computer.
Another option is to network the two computers together and transfer the iTunes folder to the new Mac. All you need is an ethernet cable and to turn on file sharing in the Sharing preference panel. Depending on how old your "older" Mac is, you might need a crossover ethernet cable.
A third option is to hook up the two computers using a Firewire cable. On the older Mac make sure it is shut down, hook the two computers up, turn on the older Mac while holding down the "T" key. On the new Mac you should see the old Mac's hard drive show up. Just find the iTunes music folder and copy it over. You could also use the Migration Assistant which will be in the Utilities folder of the new Mac.

Simulated device in MAX, self tests without error and has working Test Panels, but doesn't show up in DAQ assistant.

I'm trying to create a development machine where we can test new code without using our physical hardware. I've followed this guide in setting up a simulated device. I can get to step 3.2b, but the device does not show up in the DAQ assistant. In MAX, the device self tests and self calibrates successfully, and when I open the test panels, I see some sort of signal. I assume this is a default simulated input since I haven't told the device to look for anything? Note that the two devices I'm trying to create show up in the Devices and Interfaces section, but that even after running Self-Calibrate, the Self-Calibration date is still unspecified.
When I try to test the device and create a voltage input according to the guide, I am unable to see either device in the DAQ task creator.
Steps 1 and 2 of this guide are obviously satisfied. Step 3 is not, but this is unsurprising since a simulated device wouldn't be found in the Device Manager anyways. Also, I am not running RT, so step 4 is satisfied.
Does anyone have any ideas?

That would be because the PXI 5124 is a digitizer not a analog input device. You need to use the NI SCOPE driver not NI DAQmx

Can't see the "DAQ assistant express VI" in LabView7 express

i am using the LabView 7 express avaluation package, and trying to use my PCI 6132 DAQ card with it.
i cannot see the "DAQ assistant express VI" simbol in the "input" box, and therefore cannot connect to the DAQ.
all drivers are installed, and i manage to log data directly from the DAQ, using the "Measurement & Automation" software.
any ideas?

Did you install DAQ first, or LabVIEW? The most common cause of this problem is that DAQ support was installed before LabVIEW support. In this case, the DAQ driver will not find any valid installations of LabVIEW and thus, will not install the necessary VIs. Please try repairing the DAQ installation and making sure that support for LabVIEW is checked.
If this does not solve your problem, please let us know what version of the DAQ driver you are using, as well as how you are acquiring data in MAX.

How can I programmatically change the voltage range settings in a DAQ Assistant

First post here.
I need to be able to change the voltage range properties of a daqmx DAQ Assistant based on user input. My hardware, an SCXI-1102C does not allow changing this property on a running task, so I'd like to either set the analog input voltage range before the DAQ Assistant activates, or pause the DAQ Assistant immediately after it starts, set the values and then resume.
I don't know how to edit the task ahead of time because the DAQ assistant creates the task when it runs, and there is no task before that.
In the attached picture, I have a conditional section, set to run only if the while loop iteration is 0. I take the task from the Daq assistant, send it to a stop task vi, set the property, and then send the task on to the start task vi. I can watch it run with the debug light on, and everything seems to work correctly, but on the second (and all the other) iteration of the loop, I read out AI.Max and it seems like the DAQ Assistant has re set it back to 5V. Can anyone see what is going wrong here?
BTW, this is continuous acquisition and the code does not produce error messages when it runs.
I did come across a similar question that someone posted here back in 2006, but his question was specifically aimed at a Labview API (VB, I think), and not an actual G solution.

First, if you want to start getting beyond the basics with DAQ, you are going to have to stop using the DAQ assistant and do it with lower level DAQmx VI's. There are hundreds of examples in the example finder. You can even right click on the DAQ assistant and select open front panel. That will create a subVI that you can open and see what is going on behind the scenes. Do it. I think you'll find the DAQ task is being recreated on each (though I'm not 100% of how the settings are established or maintained in each section of that subVI).
The second problem is you have a bit of a race condition on iteration 0. Those two DAQ property nodes are running at the same time. So when you read the AI.Max, it may be happening before or after the AI.Max is set in your case structure.
Third, make sure you wire up your error wires.
