DAQ FP dimmed in CVI menu Library

Hi, All
i have met a problem today, i have installed DAQ driver first (DAQMX+Traditonal ) and then install the CVI.  but the DAQmx and traditional FP are dimmed in CVI menu Library. althrough all of those are sucess listed in MAX .  i tried to repair the driver. but no effect.
so , do someone know how to activate those FP in CVI ?

The correct procedure is to install CVI first and then DAQmx, so that the installer can load the appropriate IDE support and activate the correspondin features.
Normally reinstalling DAQmx solves the problem; check also that NI-DAQmx option is checked in Library >> Customize panel.
Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

  • Error: DAQ-STC Counter functions missing from library

    Using LabView 6.1, NI-DAQ 6.6.1 for MacOS on a laptop.
    DAQ Hardware: DAQCard 16E-4.
    When trying to use the advanced counter functions (for DAQ-STC type counters), LabVIEW generates an error saying that it can't find the function in the library. The code interface nodes for the VIs don't seem to be attached to anything. I've installed the latest version of DAQ Drivers for Mac; am I missing something here? Any insight into this problem would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    jdk

    Hi jdk,
    I think it could be just an installation issue. I assume that you are using Mac 9.1. I've run LV 6.1 with NIDAQ 6.6.1 on Mac 9.1 and it works just fine, including DAQ-STC counter functions.
    If LabVIEW 6.1 was installed without DAQ support, run the LabVIEW 6.1 installer and perform a custom installation for DAQ support. Then, run
    the NI-DAQ 6.6.1 installer to upgrade NI-DAQ.
    Hope this helps.

  • Ni-DAQ 7.1 and CVI Function panels

    I have an XP system running TestStand 1.0.3 with CVI 6.0, and hardware NI-4070 and NI-6713. I have downloaded NI-DAQ 7.1 driver. However, I cannot find any CVI function panels for the DAQ. During the installation, I selected CVI and all it's subfeatures, but I did not see any installed.

    Hi,
    To offer support for driver upgrades. the NI-DAQ installer is the one that installs the DAQ libraries for CVI. The first thing to try is to run the NI-DAQ installer from the add/remove programms applet and make sure that support for CVI is selected.
    FYI: CVI 6.0 only supports the Traditional DAQ driver, to use DAQmx you would need to upgrade to CVI 7.0; click here for more info.
    I hope this helps.

  • Encore cs6 has no menu library

    I have Adobe Pr and CS6 Encore and am attempting to create a DVD with menus from my Pr movie project, however I cannot find any preset menu elements in Encore. I would think that I would not have to purchase another app (Photoshop) for this one to work. Any help?
    Thanks!

    You may not have the entire library of object elements "loaded". For some reason, there's an additional library of things you need to download past the program itself, then expand & move into a particular folder. I suggest you read the rather long piece about this by Adobe proper ...

  • Encore CS5.1 menu library cleared when Encore CS6 menu library installed

    When I installed the Encore functional content (menu libs...) from the CS6 disk the menu libs were installed in Encore CS6 -and- the menu libraries were removed from Encore CS5.1. The menu libraries are not a separate load on Encore CS5.1. If this is expected how do I recover the lost menus?
    Ed B

    The solution to this issue would be - copy the cs6 library from C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS6\Library and place it at another loacation and rename it.
    Now uninstall the CS6 Content and reinstall the 5.1 FC using the disc or the downloded FC you have. In this way you will recover back your 5.1 FC and can also use the 6.0 FC by pointing Encore to its location. I tried it and this works
    And this problem will no longer be faced once the downloadble version of CS6 FC will be available.

  • NI DAQ Task with LabWindows/CVI

    Bonjour,
    le problème : à partir de NI DAQ, j'observe bien ma tension sinusoidale en sortie sur Dev1/ao0 mais quand j'execute mon projet LabWindows, rien ne se passe...

    Bonjour,
    Je vous propose de vous assurer dans un premier temps que l'exemple CVI "ContGen-IntClk.c" fonctionne correctement.
    Si oui, il faudra dans un deuxième temps supprimer les lignes suivantes:
    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateTask("",&gTaskHandle));
    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateAOVoltageChan(gTaskHandle,chan,"",min,max,DAQmx_Val_Volts,NULL));
    DAQmxErrChk (SetSampleClockRate(gTaskHandle,frequency,sampsPerBuffer,cyclesPerBuffer,
                                &desiredSampClkRate,&sampsPerCycle,&resultingSampClkRate,&resultingFrequency));
    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming(gTaskHandle,"",resultingSampClkRate,DAQmx_Val_Rising,DAQmx_Val_ContSamps,1000));
    et de les remplacer par la fonction "DAQmx Load Task".
    Le start et le write qui suivent doivent être gardés.

  • HT1351 I just logged into my applie ID and my old Ipod which I may have hooked up to my wifes account to fill with songs...now when I tie it into my computer with my apple ID I can't sync.  I go to file menu/library and the sync option is grayed out

    Can't seem to sync an version 4 ipod with an old itunes account of mine.  I may have hooked it to my wife's account.  The only option I have when going to file/library is "transfer purchased from Adam's Ipod"

    I'm not sure if the crash is or isn't related to fonts.
    Deciphering the crash long is something I don't have any experience with.
    I'm not even sure how the crash log is structured. I've downloaded two screen captures: one from the top of the adobe Photoshop crash log and one from the bottom. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can discern what may be causing the crash?

  • Traditional DAQ disabled in CVI 7.1

    The traditional NI-DAQ item is disabled in the library menu.
    What could be the cause ?
    Maybe i should not have installed daq 7.4 before CVI ?

    please make sure that you have installed trad. daq;
    the actual version of NI-DAQ is 7.4, deinstall the old one and install the actuall version (and the plugin the boards)

  • Wifi icon in menu bar dimmed with and "x" over icon

    Macbook Air 11-inch, mid 2013, OS X Yosemite, all software is up to date. My wifi icon appears as dimmed in the menu bar with an "x" over it. I have used network assisrant, diadnostics, fallowed all instructions properly as promted to do so. How do I enable wifi?

    I bet you have a Samsung laser printer, don't you?
    And if so, it looks like you were dumb enough to put in the included CD! Don't! Those CD's are for the Windows Users!
    Look what happened! It now installed the SmartPannel that is very un-fun to remove. Lucky for you, I re-looked up for you how to do it....as when I first got my mac, I too was dumb enough to put in that disk and got frustrated when I couldn't make the icon go away.
    so . . . in:
    ~library/printers/SmartPanel
    there is a script called iLaunchSP....Trash it!
    Reboot!
    It will be gone!

  • Saving a custom menu in Encore library

    I've been watching a training video for Encore and several days ago I recall the trainer stated that a custom menu can be saved to appear in the menu library along with all the standard menus that come with Encore.
    After creating a menu in Photoshop and importing it to Encore I have it working the way I want.  I would like to save this in the menu library to use with other projects, but now I can't find the section of the training video that described how to do that.
    Is it as simple as saving the PSD in the library folders on my hard drive where all the standard menu files are saved?  I don't want to corrupt the data base by doing somehting dumb so some advice here would be very helpful.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    It is the wrong forum, but what you want to do is simple.  Import it as a menu into the project.  Drag it from the project into the library>General window.  You will then be asked whether you want to save it as a standard menu or a template.  If you want it to be portable to other computers, also check self contained under template.  That simple.

  • "Library" Menu appears in iTunes left menu

    How can I remove this highlighted menu "Library".
    It has the same icon as "Music" menu and It looks weird.
    I just want to have only "Music" menu

    In iBooks go to File then select Move books from iTunes. This should consolidate the iBooks library on both ends and the list should be correct.

  • Problem with inifile.c in CVI 2010 project

    I upgraded to CVI 2010 today. I was using 2009. In my project I have included inifile.c in my project. The file is located in the CVI2010 toolbox directory. I used this in CVI 2009 and did not have a problem. When I compile I get a bunch of link errors "Undefined symbol". Some of the symbols it has a problem with are ConvertDataToText, AppendString, StrDup, FileExists, ... there are many more.
    My question is why are these linking errors coming up in CVI 2010?
    I would imagine I need to add another source file to my project or something like that.

    It's true that using .FPs is the best way to go.
    As I told you, an instrument driver can be loaded in Instrument menu
    or in the Library menu. If loaded in Intrument menu, to have it loaded
    automatically when you open a project you must add the .fp to the
    project itself; operating this way, every time you open a project it
    will recompile the instrument, which can be annoying and is a waste of
    time. On the other hand, if the instrument has an object file (which is
    the case of IniFile and all instruments shipped with CVI) you can load
    it in the library menu (Library >> Customize and add it to the
    list) and have it ready for use with no time spent on it.
    I personally have loaded in the library collection a set of
    general-use instrument that I happen to use in almost all my projects
    (IniFile, Programmer's Toolbox, Password control and a library with my
    own utilities) and only use the instrument menu for instruments very
    specific to one or a few projects (e.g. the driver for some external
    device I use in a project)
    Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

  • Mouse state with menu items overlapping control

    Hi,
    I have an issue with retrieving the mouse location using GetGraphCoordsFromPoint...
    I am using the return status of GetGraphCoordsFromPoint to determine if the mouse cursor is above the plot area of my graph control (1) or not (0) in order to switch between the mouse styles (VAL_DEFAULT_CURSOR versus VAL_CROSS_HAIR_CURSOR).
    It works in most cases...
    On top of the panel there is a menu bar, located below is the xy graph. Now, if the mouse opens a menu and is over the menu (and also over the graph) the mouse style depends on mouse history:
    If the mouse has always been located over the menu, it is not recognized by GetGraphCoordsFromPoint to be loacted over the graph - which is what I would like to see, in this case the cursor style still is the default style.
    Now, if the mouse leaves the menu for a short distance, the menu does not disappear (only if the mouse is at a larger distance) and acccordingly GetGraphCoordsFromPoint realizes that the mouse is over the graph. This is correct and as expected, too.(the mouse style is changed to a cross hair then)
    Now, if I move the mouse back over the menu, this is not recognized by GetGraphCoordsFromPoint, unfortunately, and the mouse style is not switched back to default.
    Am I missing something, or is there a way to correct this behavior? Having different mouse styles over a menu is confusing for the user and I'd like to avoid that, of course
    Thanks....
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Wolfgang,
    There isn't a very good way to get around this problem. As you've found, panel move events are sent to the panel's callback even while a menu is being tracked, and when you change the mouse cursor this this also impacts any menu that might be active at the time.
    If you don't mind the cursor not changing at all while the menu is active, even if the user moves over the graph, then there is a possible strategy you can pursue to remedy the situation. It consists of trying to detect when a menu is active so that you don't try to change the cursor while the menu is active. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done. Although it's straightforward to be notified whenever a new menu becomes active (via a menu dimmer callback) there is no good way to be notified when the menu goes away. And there are multiple ways in which it can go away. So it it not possible for you to set an internal flag that tracks when the menu is active.
    However, it is possible to find out whether the menu is active at the time that you receive the panel move event (or in the timer tick event, although I'm not completely sure why you are also using a timer). You can't do it with the CVI UI library, but you can, using the Windows SDK, in a somewhat round-about way.
    The idea is to find out which window is the topmost window. And if it is not the panel window, then you should be able to assume that a menu is active and thus refrain from changing the cursor. Note that you also have to make sure that the active window belongs to your process, since there could be any number of other windows that could be the "topmost" window at any one time. But if it belongs to your process and it is not your panel, then we can assume that it's the menu.
    I did a quick test with the following code and it seems to work, although you might want to test it more thoroughly than I did:
    topHwnd = GetTopWindow (NULL);
    GetWindowModuleFileName (topHwnd, topHwndModule, MAX_PATHNAME_LEN);
    GetPanelAttribute (panel, ATTR_SYSTEM_WINDOW_HANDLE, (intptr_t *)&panelHwnd);
    GetWindowModuleFileName (panelHwnd, panelHwndModule, MAX_PATHNAME_LEN);
    if (!strcmp (topHwndModule, panelHwndModule) && panelHwnd != topHwnd)
        return 0; // don't change the cursor unless the panel really is on top
    Good luck,
    Luis
