DAQcard 6024E crashes with windows 2000

I am using a daqcard with windows 2000pro and labview 7 and it occasionally stops responding and I have to do multiple re-boots of the pc before it starts working again. it also seems to occasionaly have problems being recognised by windows and max, sometimes it is picked up by one and not the other. Is this a patchable windows bug as i dont seem to have the same problems on a different pc also running win 2k pro. (but i haven't run on the other pc as long as the one with the probs) i have also noticed that if power it connected to the I/O on the daq card, the problem occurs more often on bootup of the pc.

Testing the DAQCard in another laptop is a good first step in order to verify that the problem is probably with the configuration of windows and software rather than with the hardware. It appears that your DAQCard is working properly since you do not see the problem on a different computer.
Often times problems with PCMCIA devices can be a result of the PCMCIA socket or the PCMCIA drivers and software. The following Knowledgebase contains good information on debugging problems with PCMCIA cards and discusses how to remove any 3rd party socket services (that are usually installed onto mainstream laptops) and replace it with the default Windows software:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/7CBFAB1E451C3A1886256D98006914AE?OpenDocument
In your particu
lar case you might check the resources and software settings of the two laptops to see if they are noticeable different. In particular check to see what software controls the PCMCIA devices and if there are other background programs running that might cause problems with Windows on your first machine.
Also, you will want to check to the version of NI-DAQ that you have installed to see if that is different between the two computers. All versions of NI-DAQ can be downloaded from our website (ni.com/support) if you wish to upgrade, with our latest version being NI-DAQ 7.1.
If you have any other questions or comments then please let us know.

  • DaqCard 6024E intermittant with Windows XP

I am still having trouble running the PCMCIA DaqCard 6024E reliability
on a Winbook running home version XP. I could get by, but my customers
    can't.
I ordered two cards, one to upgrade a Winbook laptop running Windows Me
(from a DaqCard 500) (a little over a year old) and the other for a new
Winbook which came with XP installed. I also have a new Winbook running
XP (also home version) and working fine with a DaqPad 6020E from the USB
port. I am using the latest version of NIDaq, 6.9.2. Once MAX sees the
    card, LabVIEW has no problems.
Both of the DaqCards cards run fine in the old Winbook running Me.
Neither of the PCMCIA 6024E cards will run reliably with the XP system.
    >From a cold boot, I have to restart several times (usually between 5 and
10 times) before the card is recognized (little icon in task bar). Or
if I boot once and then just unplug and replug the card - hot - it also
requires about 5 to 10 of these cycles. Once its recognized, if I
unplug and replug the card it will not fail to recognize the card until
    between 15 and 20 tries.
Just to verify that the laptop is ok, I bought a PCMCIA ethernet card.
The box for the ethernet card (Netgear FA411) indicated that it would
run with Windows 95/98/Me and a sticker on the cellophane wrapper said
"Works with Windows XP". The sticker (afterthought) suggested to me
that if it would work with Windows 95/98/Me it would also work with XP.
I rebooted 25 times and the computer recognized it every time. I also
unplugged and plugged the either net card - hot - 25 times and the
    computer recognized it every time.
Winbook will not guarantee survival if I try to load 98 or Me in the new
computer. I think these systems are assembled and loaded in China and
they don't have the drivers in Ohio. By the way, this is my fifth
Winbook, and this is my first problem. Otherwise XP seems to run better
than Me. My new Winbook with XP and the DaqPad has never failed. I
have been using it nearly every day since February. I developed both of
    the DacCard systems with it.
I think the Winbooks, about $1000, and the DaqCards are perfect for my
customers. I hope we can fix this problem.
For the present, my clients are using the computers in the lab and are
able to leave them on continuously 24X7. But soon they will get
approvals and will have to go to the clinic for their study. They have
to move a cart into a room, plug in the equipment and can't be messing
with the cards when the room is $700 per hour and the Doctors are upset
(that's a mild term). If we loose a study, we have lost a consenting
patient, (they are not easy to come by these days). I suppose, if I
have to, we could use DaqPAds, but I don't want to do that, nor do I
want the lose the restocking fee. In addition, I am currently putting
another system together, which I will deliver at the end of July. Not
sure what to buy, DaqCard or DaqPad (prefer DaqCard).

    Harry;
We don't have anything reported yet about Winbooks and Windows XP.
One thing you can try out though, is to see if the Socket drivers in use by the Winbook are the Native ones provided by Microsoft.
If they aren't uninstall those and install the NAtive ones from the Windows installation CD. If that is the case, it's probably the cause of the problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Msi GeForce 4 4200 frame rate locked at 60 with Windows 2000

Lost here..... I have an MSI Geforce 4 4200 120MB Video Card slotted on an Asus A7V motherboard - AMD Thunderbird 1Ghz processor with 640mb of ram.
There is a common problem with the Nvidia chip and Windows 2000 in regards to a lock frame rate at 60fps within games.
I've tried several programs to fix this i.e. "Refresh Lock", "Windows 2000/XP Nvidia Refresh rate lock", "PowerStrip 3.15" and "NVFresh Tool 1.0"
But nothing seems to work. I'm sure these program work with older Nvidia cards but not with GeForce 4.
Any Ideas? I even turned the Vsync off and on.

(A little advice: If you can, dump XP and install a copy of Windows 2000 second edition. They both have the same KERNAL but I find that Win 2000 is much more compatible for now. I give XP 2 more years before it's the OS for all. I've reinstalled 6 systems with Windows 2000 because of compatibility problems.)

  • Install oracle 8.0.6 with Windows 2000

    hello all,
today we have oracle 8.0.6 on NT Server ...
we need install the same release oracle 8.0.6 on new IBM server, with Windows 2000 Server ...
we are looking information about differences between config oracle 8.0.6 in NT Server and Windows 2000 Server
    thanks in advance
    rodolfo

My tnsnames.ora file is using SID and not SERVICE NAME.
The configuration is the same as the other NT server I am using, this is actually a new server we are trying to replace the production with. The only difference is the OS so far. I looked at all the configuration files and the only error I get is that TNS 12203 error when I try to connect to Oracle.
When I try from any client it does the same thing, TNS 12203 and no connection to database.
Could it be the OS, or does anyone know anyone that has Oracle 8.0.6 on a 2003 Server Box.
    Thanks for your help guys.

  • Labview 2009 .exe not working with windows 2000

I created a simple vi with Labview 2009 to reset a counter in registry key. I changed it to an exe. The program runs fine on any machine with XP but it does not work on the machine I need it on which is running Windows 2000 SP4. I installed the 2009 runtime but I continue to get an error when it starts up saying the vi is not executable and that I need the full development to fix the errors. But like I said it works every where else. I've tried other exe wrote in LV2009 on this machine and they work. Is there something in my vi that is not compatible with Windows 2000?
    Thanks

  • Working with Windows 2000 ?

Hello, I'm new to Java but been programming 15 years, hell knows why I waited till now to use Java but it is great !
I want to write some applications that control and work with Windows 2000. I realise they would not be platform independent but is this sort of thing possible ?
or .... just as an example what if I wanted to control some feature of the linux os ?
    thanks
    C

It is possible. All you need to know is how to use JNI. I think there are only two books out there about JNI, I would recommend the one from Sun.
You can download it here: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jni/index.html

  • AT-AO-10 doesn´t work with Windows 2000

I have an AT-AO-10 board that doesn’t work with Windows 2000. I have reserved two IRQs for legacy devices (non plug and play) in BIOS. The AT-AO-10 has got assigned these IRQs, a DMA and a base address that are free, and there aren’t any hardware conflicts, but the board doesn't pass the MAX's text.
In Windows 'Information System', the board is shown in 'Forced hardware', but I don’t know that is a problem.
If the board is unplugged, error messages are the same.

    Hello;
You didn't mention what version of the NI-DAQ driver you are using over there. Anyway, my suggestion to you is to uninstall the NI-DAQ driver you have installed, remove the board, reboot the machine, download and install the latest NI-DAQ version (6.9.3) from NI web site.
Try the installation with the new driver, and if that is still not working, the best bet is to try the same installation on a different machine to double check if the hardware is not defective.

  • Creative Centrale Crashes with Windows 7 64 bit

/CI bought a zen style 300 mp3 player. The Creative Centrale program crashes everytime I try and use it trying to access files on the Zen. Anybody have this program working? Any suggestions?
I have tried to load the software twice.
I can see the Zen via the Computer... My Zen in Windows but not this program...

Re: Creative Centrale Crashes with Windows 7 64 bitmThank You KoKChoy-CL....
I had to Format to fix that issue. Now it worked so I could see the Zen 300 but did crash during tranfering music. I have tried it twice now. Once the Window 7 crashes, I cannot get the Centale program to enter my Zen.
Just a hint about how to get into the Zen Recover mode. Start off.. then push the on button and once you see the screen, quickly press back button holding them both down at the same time.

The program still crashed during transfering files to my Zen... I keep trying but I can always tranfer using Window 7 just by transfering from one folder to the next folder.

  • Is Firefox 8 compatible with Windows 2000 Pro? Would be nice if you could find the system requirements easily.

  • Is the JDK (1.2.2) compatible with Windows 2000 Pro?

    Hi Friends!,
It seems that the JDK - Version: 1.2.2 - is not
compatible with Windows 2000 Pro. I know
how to configure the kit in this operating system
even if I'am not able to understand the reason for which
I receive the error in the Command Prompt window - the JAVAC
    utility says:
    "Can't read: BigDebt.java - 1 error".
I have added the following command line from
    the System Control Panel->System->Environment->System Variables:
    C:\jdk1.2.2\bin ( where I have installed the kit ).
I also have added the CLASSPATH command line there:
set CLASSPATH=.;C:\jdk1.2.2\lib\tools.jar but the problem persists
and I'am unable to create the BigDebt.class file.
To avoid another nervous wreck please send me the instructions
to configure correctly the JDK (1.2.2) for Windows 2000 Pro.
    Thanks.
    Julian Jerman - from Italy.

when you runs the java compiler like this
    javac BigDebt.java
You need to be in the directory of your BigDebt.java file located.
BTW, it is kind of weird that your java file is saved to System32 directory, there is no benefit doing that.

  • Where could I get iTunes 7.32 or any version compatible with Windows 2000?

I recently rolled back to Windows 2000 from XP because I made some mistake and couldn't connect to the internet (I only did so after trying everything, but that's all unneeded information). After looking all over the Apple website, I could not find any version that is compatible with Windows 2000. Does anyone know where I could find one?

Never mind, found an installer in one of my back-ups from years ago.

  • I try to play a video through itunes but everytime it tries it causes the software to crash with windows 7.

Has anyone had this problem?  I've tried to play a video through itunes but everytime it tries it causes the software to crash with windows 7.  I have the newest updates.

  • Default Strata navigation buttons used to have colors besides blue with Windows 2000.

I recently moved from Windows 2000 to Windows 7 and noticed that the default Strata navigation buttons are now all blue. For example, with Windows 2000 the stop "X" was red and the "Forward" and "Back" arrow buttons were green. No biggie, but is there any way to get these colors with the default navigation buttons in Windows 7?
    Thanks!

Hello and thank you for the reply!
While I am waiting for the issue to start up again, I'd just like to cover some things you mentioned in your post. :)
I only updated the bios because I was originally experiencing these issues. It was a method to hopefully resolve them, which did not work. I was very careful, and the process was a success. I updated to the most recent recommended driver for my motherboard
    from the manufacturers.
As for Auslogics Boost Speed, it is not running on my computer, as it is a piece of software I only have used to clean junk files (cache/temp) for a very long time now with no issue. I have also tried updating all of my drivers with success, however that
did not solve the issue either. I even rolled back my network card driver just in case with no luck.
I have not thought of disabling my audio driver yet, being how it effects far more than just my audio when it happens. My mouse is jittery/laggy as well when no sound is playing. But other tests have shown that it may be a network issue. Next time it happens
I'll temporary disable my network drivers to see if that causes the issue to clear up.
I will be sure to mark answers which help appropriately. Thanks again! I should return with the information requested from Zigzag's wiki within 2 days of on-time, when this happens again.
